GRANT PARK - Roland Edward Copeland, 66, of Grant Park, died Sunday (March 10, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, Gilman. Rev. John Balluff will officiate.
Burial will be in the Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Elwood.
Mr. Copeland was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 30 years of service.
He was born March 3, 1936 in Fall River, Mass.
His wife, Sandra Copeland, died Oct. 1, 1992.
Surviving are one son, Daniel Copeland of Grant Park; one daughter, Samantha Copeland of Gilman; two stepdaughters, Michele Mayo of Gilman, Katherine Cinnerella of Worth; one stepson, James McCarthy of Chicago; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three brothers; and three sisters.
Two brothers are deceased.
He was a member of the Catholic faith and the VFW Post in Chicago.
Rose M. Nichols
GARDNER - Rose M. Nichols, 91, of Gardner, died today (March 13, 2002) at Morris Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, South Wilmington Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Julia Baum Coldwater will officiate.
Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner cemetery, Braceville.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice or to the activity fund at the Grundy County Nursing Home.
She was born March 3, 1911, in South Wilmington, the daughter of Pete and Marian Donna Cherfoli.
Her husband, James E. Nichols, whom she married
July 19, 1930, is deceased.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Nichols of Braidwood, Samuel and Linda Nichols of Morris; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
One son, Jim Nichols; and two sisters, Mary Lardi and Katie Sosala, are deceased.
She was a member of the Church of Hope in Gardner.
Tina Marie Padilla
Tina Marie Padilla, 21, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Blue Island, died Sunday (March 10, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at the Hickey Memorial Chapel, Blue Island.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Worth.
She was born Oct. 2, 1980 in Blue Island.
Surviving are two daughters, Marina Padilla and Diana Padilla, both of Bourbonnais; one son, Armondo Padilla of Bourbonnais; her mother, Diana Trevino of Bourbonnais; one sister, Chela Delgado of Bourbonnais; and three brothers, Marcos Padilla, Juan Trevino and Jovanni Trevino, all of Bourbonnais.
Her father, Jorge Padilla, died in 1987.
Miss Padilla was a former sales clerk at Sears.
Dan W. Cleveland
JOLIET - Dan W. Cleveland, 58, of Joliet, died Wednesday (March 6, 2002) at his home.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A private family memorial service will be held Monday at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel. Rev. George Hendricks will officiate.
He was born Nov. 18, 1943 in Joliet.
Surviving are his mother, Jane K. Becker McBride of Dwight; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Charles and Carol Cleveland of Seattle, Wash., Michael and Esther Cleveland of Chicago, Glen McBride and Randall and LuAnne McBride, all of Joliet; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Don Holimon, Kathleen and David Jury, all of Dwight; and several nieces and nephews.
His father, Charles Cleveland; and one sister, Mary Ann Cleveland, are deceased.
He was a graduate of Gardner South Wilmington High School.
Mr. Cleveland was formerly employed at the Morris Paper Mill.
In earlier years, he enjoyed bowling and had bowled on many leagues.
Elizabeth Jane Perry
CARTHAGE, Mo. - Elizabeth Jane Perry, 76, of Carthage, Mo., formerly of Kankakee, died Tuesday (March 5, 2002) at McCune-Brooks Hospital, Carthage.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today at Park cemetery, Carthage. Rev. Timothy Loc officiated.
Memorials may be made to the McCune-Brooks Hospital ICU in care of the Knell Mortuary, 308 W. Chestnut, Carthage, Mo. 64836.
He was born Nov. 4, 1925, in Kankakee, the daughter of Robert H. and Ethel Henneky Hedditch.
Her husband, Cordell Perry, whom she married
in 1970, in Aurora, died in 1977.
Surviving are four daughters, Gloria Frantz of Kankakee, Diana Runion of Henderson, Tenn., Teresa Conrey of Naperville, Tina Lott of Wichita, Kan.; four sons, Dennis Gundlach of Surprise, Ariz., Jeff Gundlach of Alexandria, Ark., Greg Dennison and Tim Dennison, both of Carthage, Mo.; two brothers, James Hedditch of Momence, Jack Hedditch of Montana; one sister, Thelma Wyant of Texas; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
One son, Anthony; three brothers; and two sisters, are deceased.
Mrs. Perry was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Aurora.
Gerald Andrew Andersen
REDDICK - Gerald Andrew Andersen, 76, of Reddick, died Thursday (March 7, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. celebration of life at the Reddick United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Revs. Robert Fear and Julie Baum-Coldwater will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Round Grove cemetery, Reddick.
Memorials may be made to Hospice or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

He was born March 20, 1925, in Gardner, the son of Andrew and Cathrine Erma Howland Andersen.
His wife, Grace Cumming, whom he married
Aug. 17, 1947, in Gardner, died Nov. 21, 1976.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Althea Andersen of Oswego, Gwen and John Airgood of Gardner, Sandy and Joe Kokaly of Dwight; one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Inez Andersen of Reddick; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
One grandson, Chad Kratochvil, is deceased.
Mr. Andersen was a farmer and self-employed retired excavator. After retiring he drove grain trucks for Clark Farms in Reddick and Clover Trucking.
He was a member of the Church of Hope, Gardner, and attended Reddick United Methodist Church. He was also a 50-year member of the Ancient Free Accepted Masons of Illinois, the Gardner Lodge 573, the Reddick Lions Club, the Reddick Volunteer Fire Department and NRA.
He enjoyed woodworking and photography.
Lorena L. Banes
WATSEKA - Lorena L. Banes, 76, of Watseka, died Thursday (March 7, 2002).
There will be no visitation or services.
Cremations rites will be accorded.
Baier Funeral Home, Watseka, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Leoti, Kan., the daughter of Marlin K. and Mable Cain Holman.
Her husband, James W. Banes, died in 1984.
Surviving are one sister, Betty Pitrouski of Watseka; and one brother, Clyde Holman of McClure.
One sister; one brother; and one niece, are deceased.
Mrs. Banes was a member of the Eastern Star and Zonta Club, both in Effingham.
Norma M. Hauert
PEOTONE - Norma M. Hauert, 92, of Peotone, died today (March 8, 2002) at Miller Center, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Jack McCormick will officiate.
Burial will be in the Peotone cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ, Peotone, where she was a member.
Mrs. Hauert was a former school teacher.
She was born June 15, 1909, in Monee, the daughter of William and Mary Pape Pauling.
Her husband, Nick Hauert, whom she married
Feb. 14, 1931, in Crown Point, Ind., died in 1984.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Dale Neiner of Gravois Mills, Mo.; three grandchildren including, Dalean Neiner of Spokane, Wash., Debra and Larry Baldwin of Manteno, Alan Neiner of Burnsville, Minn.; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One brother, Lawrence Pauling, is deceased.
She was a member of the Women's Fellowship of her church.
Phyllis Jean Keryger
Visitation for Phyllis Jean Keryger, 79, of Kankakee, formerly of Cicero, will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in All Saints cemetery, Bourbonnais.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Mrs. Keryger died Wednesday (March 6, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
She was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Peoria, the daughter of Emil and Viola Fletcher Claeys. Her stepfather was Harry Basil.
She was married
to Edward Keryger.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Wright and Edward Keryger, both of Kankakee; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Jim Stourac of Coal City, Judy and Jim O'Donnell, Karen and Roger Gilreath, all of Kankakee; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, John Claeys of Cicero, Orville and Pat Basil of South Bend, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Donald Basil of Las Vegas, Nev.; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister, Pauline Basil, is deceased.
She was a member of the Catholic faith.
Ralph Pinager
MOMENCE - Ralph Pinager, 62, of Momence, died Thursday (Feb. 28, 2002) at Loyola Medical Center, Maywood.
Cremation rites were accorded.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Leggett Funeral Home, Hopkins Park.
He was born Dec. 5, 1939, in Racine, Wis., the son of Henry and Evelyn Moon Pinager.
Surviving are six sons, Alomando Tony Hawkins, Ralph Pinager Jr., Myron Pinager, Melvin Pinager, Micheal Pinager and Lawrence Dumas; two daughters, Antoinette Jeffers and Benita Pinager; four brothers, Hugh Leon Pinager IV, Larry Pinager, Aubrey (Lanae) Pinager and Bryan Roots; two sisters, Zwazzi (Evelyn/Ebbie) Sowo and Liz (Myra) Ikpe; and 13 grandchildren.
Mr. Pinager had been a truck driver for PAC Garbage Disposal Company, Hopkins Park.
He was a resident of the area for 32 years and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He enjoyed jazz music.
