SAYBROOK - Gloria Bruehl, 76, of Saybrook, and the sister of a Bourbonnais resident, died Monday (March 4, 2002) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Saybrook.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Riverside cemetery. Saybrook. Rev. Peggy Richards will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the McLean County Humane Society or to the American Cancer Society.
She was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Saybrook, the daughter of Wayne E. and Viola Griffin Evans.
Her husband, Morris Bruehl, whom she married
Sept. 17, 1946, in Jonesboro, Ark., died Jan. 21, 1977.
Surviving are one son, Robert (Missy) Bruehl of Bloomington; four daughters, Diane (Dale Albee) Bruehl of Saybrook, Susan (Terry) Johnson of Bloomington, Kimberly Bruehl of Urbana, Heidi (Robert) Stevens of Saybrook; two brothers, Lee (Nan) Evans of Fort Worth, Texas, Richard Evans of Bourbonnais; one sister, Evelyn Wall of Bloomington; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
One son, Dennis Bruehl; and three brothers, are deceased.
Mrs. Bruehl was a member of the United Methodist Church, Saybrook, and the David Humphrey Daniel American Legion Auxiliary, Post 427, Saybrook.
Genevieve Degnan
Visitation for Genevieve E. Degnan, 90, of Lanesville, Ind., formerly of Kankakee, will be from 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Kankakee.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where she was a former member.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
Ms. Degnan died Sunday (March 3, 2002) at her home.
She was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Milks Grove Township, the daughter of Joseph T. and Katherine Grey Adams.
Ms. Degnan was a retired employee of E.R. Moore Co. in Chicago.
Surviving are one nephew and niece with whom she lived, James and Trina Gossett of Lanesville; great-niece, Virginia Jansa of Lanesville; and three great-great-nieces and nephews.
One sister, Katherine Gossett, is deceased.
Emmeline Claussen
GRANT PARK - Visitation for Emmeline Pryne Claussen, 92, of rural Grant Park, will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Hub Funeral Chapel in Grant Park and from 10 a.m. Wednes-day until the 11 a.m. service at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Grant Park. Rev. Beverly Zell will officiate.
Burial will be in Heusing cemetery in rural Grant Park.
Memorials may be made to the Roofing Fund at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Grant Park.
Mrs. Claussen died Sunday (March 3, 2002).
She was born April 4, 1909 in Galdin, Mich., the daughter of Horace and Alta Jane Stevenson Pryne.
Her husband, Adolph C. Claussen, whom she married
March 2, 1929 in Crown Point, Ind., died Oct. 15, 1990.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Dianne Claussen, Ronald and Jill Claussen, all of Grant Park; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Opal and Forrest Hartman of Momence, Norma Whorrall of Waverley, Va., Alice Ross of Hoopeston, Marjorie and Marvin Ekhoff, Christine and Fred Meyer, and Josephine and Richard Boicken, all of Grant Park; 50 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
One grandson, Steven Stadt; three great-grandchildren; two sisters; and one son-in-law, Donald Whorrall, are deceased.
Mrs. Claussen was employed at the Clover Farm Grocery, formerly in Grant Park.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Grant Park.
Elsie Povalla
MOMENCE - Elsie I. Povalla, 85, of Momence, died Sunday (March 3, 2002) at Momence Meadows Nursing Center.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Lawrence Moslener will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery, Aroma Township.

She was born Oct. 7, 1916, in Breckenridge, Minn., the daughter of Frank and Lillie Bouchard Ducharme.
Her husband, Robert A. Povalla, whom she married
May 29, 1937, in Cicero, died Dec. 30, 1954.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Clarence Horalek of North Riverside; one granddaughter, Nanette and David Baney of Milan, Italy; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Blanche Bejna of Bonita Springs, Fla., Ella and George Young of Momence, Nelda West of Kankakee; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Emmett and Nancy Ducharme of St. Anne and Harold and Verga Ducharme of Bradley.
Eight brothers and one sister are deceased.
Mrs. Povalla was a factory worker at Amphenol Electronics in Cicero.
She was a member of Church of Our Savior in Chicago Heights.

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Bertha Papineau Conklin, 66, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Bonfield, died Friday (Feb. 22, 2002).
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at Grace Baptist Church, 2499 Waldron Rd., Kankakee.
Ms. Conklin had worked 25 years at Amberg File and Index. She was a retired business owner in Winter Haven.
She was born April 26, 1935, in Bonfield.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sally Rabideau of Aroma Park; three grandchildren; four sisters, Alberta Krumwiede of Martinton, Penny Henson of Grand Chain, Ill., Barbra Coty of Winter Haven, Marla Jean Alfrey of Joliet; six brothers, Gerald Papineau of Providence, Ky., Leroy Papineau of Clay, Ky., Robert Papineau of Bonfield, Oliver Papineau of Amhurst, Neb., Bert Papineau of Marion, Ky. and Ralph Papineau of Aurora, Colo.
Her father, Henry Papineau; her mother, Elizabeth Bock Papineau Jensen; and step-father, Elmer Jensen, are deceased.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
She enjoyed bowling.

Mrs. Pyzdrowski was the owner/operator of Louie's Plumbing/Heating with her husband and after his death with her son.
She was born July 1, 1920, in Goodrich, the daughter of Alvin and Aldia Perry Garreau.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerome and Linda Pyzdrowski of Bradley, James "Jim" Pyzdrowski of Denver City, Texas; one daughter, Shirley Themer of Bourbonnais; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Theresa and Lou Galandeau of Herscher, Doris Kuntz of Manteno, Viola Lambert of Herscher; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
One infant son, Richard; two sisters, Leona Martin and Mabel Stone; and one brother, Art Garreau, are deceased.
She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women of her church and the Daughters of Isabella.
She enjoyed playing cards and crocheting.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas - Dorothy Louise Gooding, 87, of Brownsville, Texas, formerly of Sheldon, died Monday (Feb. 25, 2002) at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church.

She was born June 19, 1914, in Sheldon, the daughter of William L. and Goldie Hoagland.
Her husband, Charles Bruce Gooding, whom she married
Jan. 12, 1935, in Sheldon, died in 1986.
Surviving are one son, Raymond Gooding of Brownsville; one daughter, Linda L. Allen of Davenport, Iowa; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gooding and her husband lived and farmed in Sheldon until 1953, then moved to Reddick in 1979. After they retired they moved to Brownsville.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 74 years.

WILMINGTON - Jacob P. Hehn, 72, of Wilmington, died Sunday (Feb. 24, 2002) at Silver Cross Medical Center, Joliet.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Reeves Funeral Home, Wilmington.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Rose Catholic Church, Wilmington, where he was a member. Rev. Frank Vitus and Deacon Don Dyer will officiate.
Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Justice.

He was born Aug. 18, 1929, in Chicago, the son of Phillip and Theresa Puhl Hehn.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Becka; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary McCray, Theresa and Robert Olson, all of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hehn was employed by the Chicago Department of Sewers and Sanitation.
He was a member of the Bakers Union of Chicago.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Faith Reformed Church, Kankakee, where he was a member.

Mr. Salm had been a press operator for 25 years at Armstrong World Industries.
He was born Jan. 31, 1955, in Kankakee, the son of Barney and Janet O'Connor Salm. His father is deceased.

June 27, 1975, in Kankakee; one son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Misty Salm of Kankakee; one daughter, Tonya Salm of Chebanse; his mother of Murphysboro, Tenn.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Teri and Scott Bernicky of Kankakee, Wanda and Francis Feller of Herscher, Stacey and Alan Lee of Smyrna, Tenn., Lisa and Mark Stipp of Limestone; and one grandchild.
One godson, Andrew Stephen Feller, is deceased.
