ASHKUM - Graveside services for Virginia E. Hill, 84, of Ashkum and Clifton, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Ashkum cemetery. Rev. William Callister will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Mrs. Hill died Monday (Feb. 25, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
She was born Aug. 21, 1917, in Macon, Ga., the daughter of William A. and Clifford C. Chapman Lanham.
Her husband, Harold E. Hill, whom she married
Aug. 22, 1942, in Harvey, died Feb. 11, 1998.
Surviving are two sons, George Hill of Oak Forest, Ronald Hill of Blue Island; one daughter, Shirley Nesselrodt of Clifton; one brother, John C. Lanham of Glenwood; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hill had been employed at the Haag Soap Company.
Theresa Tusinski
Visitation for Theresa A. Tusinski, 72, of Bradley, will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a 6 p.m. Women of the Moose ritual and a 7 p.m. service by the Bradley VFW Auxiliary, at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley, where she was a member.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mrs. Tusinski died Wednesday (Feb. 27, 2002) at her home.
She was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Bradley, the daughter of Stanley and Agnes Zurawski Sadowski. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Theodore A. Tusinski, whom she married
June 12, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church; two sons, Steven M. Tusinski of Bourbonnais, Lawrence Tusinski of Bradley; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David Grumish of Champaign; eight grandchildren, Michelle and Jack Prichard, Heather Tusinski, all of Kankakee, Jennifer and Ron Thornton, Christine Tusinski, all of Bourbonnais, Ryan, Eric, Renee' and Emily Grumish, all of Champaign; and five great-grandchildren, Jordan Thornton, Kody Kohler, Tyler Thornton and Kory Tusinski, all of Bourbonnais and Schuyler Prichard of Kankakee.
Five brothers and four sisters are deceased.
She was a member of the Bradley VFW Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose.
She enjoyed dancing in her earlier years, gardening, canning, cooking and collecting dolls and angels.
Mrs. Tusinski was a homemaker.
Ruth Harstedt
Ruth Esther Harstedt, 103, of Wesley Township, Will County, died Tuesday (Feb. 26, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
There will be no visitation.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Harstedt was a retired teacher.
She was born Oct. 8, 1898, the daughter of George and Mary Johnston Beckwith.
Her husband, Hialmer Harstedt, is deceased.
Surviving are one son, Lloyd Harstedt of Wesley Township; and two grandchildren.
One son, Robert Harstedt; one daughter, Eula Jean Harstedt; three brothers, Guy, Norman and Willard Beckwith; and three sisters, Harriet J. Beckwith, Helen O'Connor and Ida Baumgartner, are deceased.
She was a member of the former Deselm Methodist Church.
Rachel Osgood
Rachel K. Osgood, 28, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Reedsburg, Wis., died Sunday (Feb. 24, 2002) at her home after a sudden illness.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Wildwood Church of the Nazarene, where she was a member.

She was born May 28, 1973, in Reedsburg, the daughter of John and Joyce Martin Fargen. Her father is deceased.
Surviving are her mother of Reedsburg; two sisters, Debara Osgood and Diana Osgood, both of Reedsburg; two brothers, Dean Osgood and Jeff Osgood, both of Reedsburg; and two nephews.
She was a graduate of Reedsburg High School where she ran cross country.
Ms. Osgood had been a nurses aide at Shapiro Developmental Center.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, biking, snow skiing and camping.
Marilyn Trent
PEOTONE - Marilyn J. Trent, 66, of Peotone, formerly of Chicago Heights, died Wednesday (Feb. 27, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee.
Arrangements are pending at the Fred C. Hub Memorial Chapel in Chicago Heights.
Larry Hoff
PORTLAND, Ore. - Larry Hoff, 45, of Portland, Ore., the relative of area residents, died Sunday (Feb. 24, 2002).
Services will be held Saturday in Portland.
He was born Sept. 28, 1956, in Joliet, the son of Victor and Dee Hoff, former Bradley and Joliet residents.
Surviving are his wife, Betsy; three daughters, Christine, Elise and Heidi; one son, Christopher; his mother; and several relatives in the Kankakee area, including Marc LaFond of Kankakee, Evelyn Wezalis and Viola Hendron, both of Bourbonnais .
Mr. Hoff was in the landscaping business in Portland.
He was a lifelong member of Jehovah Witnesses.
He traveled abroad often and enjoyed designing and building miniature toy trains.
Jason Wood
Jason Burnell Wood, 17, of Kankakee, died Tuesday (Feb. 26, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital emergency room.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, Irwin, where he was a member. Rev. Ronald Hart will officiate.
Burial will be in St. James cemetery, Irwin.
Mr. Wood was employed by Noffke Lawn Care Services in Herscher and was a cadet and firefighter for the Limestone Fire Department. He also helped many farmers in the area.
He was born May 3, 1984, in Kankakee, the son of Gary V. and Nanette M. Bouchard Wood.
Surviving besides his parents of Kankakee are one sister and brother-in-law, Jillian and Michael Jakubowski of Kankakee; one brother, Jonathan Wood of Kankakee; three uncles, Kim Bouchard of Kankakee, David and Pam Wood of St. Anne, Larry Wood of Bourbonnais; aunts, Jean and Anthony Blanchette of Kankakee, Bonnie Sebastiani of Bradley, Connie and Peter Dato of Reddick, Sandy and Michael Sullivan of Streator; maternal grandparents, Burnell and Burnette Bouchard of Kankakee; paternal grandparents, William and Nadine Burnside of Kankakee; and many cousins.
His grandfather, Archibald Wood; and one cousin, David Blanchette, are deceased.
He was involved with the 4-H club, where he showed horses.
He enjoyed hunting, dirt bikes, four wheeling and snowmobiles.
Father Ronald Palmer
Visitation for Father Ronald L. Palmer, 54, of Bartonville, formerly of Kankakee, will be from 4-8 p.m. today at St. Anthony Church in Bartonville, and from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. celebration of the funeral Mass at St. Anthony Church.
Visitation will then be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Kankakee.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Kankakee.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Church, Bartonville or to St. Teresa Endowment Fund.
Father Palmer died suddenly Tuesday (Feb. 26, 2002) at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.
He was born Sept. 4, 1947, in Kankakee, the son of Donald and Norma Palmer. His father survives in St. Anne; his mother is deceased.
He was the oldest of four children, Donna and Bill Casino of Kankakee, Dennis and Mary Alma Palmer of Muscatine, Iowa and Richard and Cindy Palmer of Kankakee. Father Ron had six nieces, three nephews, three great-nieces and three great-nephews. He baptized many of them.
Father Palmer was currently the parish priest at St. Anthony Church in Bartonville. Before that, he was the parish priest at St. Robert Bellarmine Newman Center at Illinois State University in Normal for nine years. He held a staff position at St. Meinrad in Evansville, Ind., from 1985-1990. Early in his career, he was an associate priest at St. Philomena in Peoria and St. Mary and Visitation churches in Kewanee.
He attended St. Teresa grade school, Kankakee High School, Illinois State University and Saint Meinrad School of Theology where he was ordained a deacon. He was later ordained a priest in the Peoria Diocese in 1980.
Father Ron was a gifted counselor, speaker, listener and leader. He was a friend to all who knew him. He spent many hours driving to marry former parishioners or baptize their children. He was an avid genealogist and had compiled much information and statistics about his family. He was a source of inspiration and devotion for his immediate and extended families. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Paul Koonce
BONFIELD - Visitation for Paul S. Koonce, 57, of Bonfield, will be from 2 p.m. Saturday until the 4 p.m. memorial service at Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, Kankakee.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Hertz-Thoma Crematory.

Mr. Koonce died Saturday (Feb. 23, 2002) at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Joliet.
Mr. Koonce retired in 1994 from AT&T; after 28 years of service. He was currently working for Enron.
He was born Aug. 19, 1944, in Villa Ridge, the son of Shadley and Helen Darszkiewicz Koonce. His father is deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Shirley Drechsel Wilson, whom he married
March 6, 1993, at Asbury United Methodist Church, Kankakee; two daughters, Elizabeth Koonce and Rebecca Koonce, both of Edwardsville; two step-sons, Jim Wilson of Limestone, David and Brenda Snapp of Clifton; one step-daughter, Pam and James Smith of Kankakee; his mother of Waterloo; two brothers, John Reed and Ruthann Koonce of Memphis, Tenn., Mike Koonce of Waterloo; his former wife, Jean Koonce of Edwardsville; three step-grandchildren; and several nephews.
He was a U.S. Marines veteran serving in Japan, Korea and Vietnam in the 1960s and a member of the American Legion.
He was a member of the Bradley Moose and the Edwardsville Elks.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, science fiction movies and feeding and watching the birds and raccoons.
