Dorothy Donley
GREELEY, Colo. -- Dorothy Donley, 89, of Greeley, Colo., formerly of Kankakee, died Monday (May 6, 2002) at the Northern Colorado Medical Center, Greeley.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Rev. Curt Boyer will officiate.
She was born Jan. 20, 1913, in Chebanse, the daughter of George and Minnie Behm Lukow.
Her husband, John P. Donley, whom she married
in 1936 in Chicago, is deceased.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, John P. Donley of Greeley, Colo., Richard and Solveig Donley of Risor Norway; one daughter, Terry Ann Kaari of Jupiter, Fla.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Lois Lukow of Sun City, Ariz.; and one sister, Elsie Hupp of Kankakee.
One brother, Leroy Lukow, is deceased.
Dr. Ingeborg Georgis
Dr. Ingeborg K. Georgis M.D., 87, died Wednesday (May 8, 2002) at the Bradley Royale Health Care Center.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. Monday until the 7 p.m. memorial service at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
She was born Ingeborg Koerner, in Germany, and was a resident of the Joliet/Momence area for over 40 years.
Her husband, Louis Georgis, died in 1968.
Surviving are her children, Werner (Catherine) Georgis of Minooka and Catherine (Charles "Joe") Burnett of Momence; daughter-in-law, Virginia "Ginny" Georgis of Virginia; nine grandchildren, Harry (Kim) Burnett of Washington, David (Jessica) Friend of the Joliet Police Department, Christine (Kevin) Kamin, Jennifer (Mike) Dooley, Morgan (Judie) Burnett, Margaret Burnett, Anthony Georgis, Ashley Georgis and Ruth Georgis, all of this area; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her parents; one son, George Georgis, who died in 2000; and one brother, Dr. Karl Felix Koerner, are deceased.
Dr. Georgis was a retired physician at Manteno State Hospital, Silver Cross Hospital and in private practice.
She was a member of the American Medical Association and an active member in AA.
She enjoyed reading and the studying of European history.
Elton Rabe
WWII veteran
WILMINGTON -- Visitation for Elton C. "Rudy" Rabe, 82, of Wilmington, will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Freitag Funeral Home, Wilmington.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, Wilmington.
Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Elwood.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, where he was a member.
Mr. Rabe died Wednesday (May 8, 2002) at Rosewood Care Center, Joliet.
He was born Oct. 15, 1919, in Yorkville, the son of Rudolph and Emma Schultz Rabe.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Betty Jo Sims; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jack Saye of Asheville, N.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Caryn Rabe of Tempe, Ariz.; and three grandsons.
Two sisters, Verda L. Rabe and Mary Ann Mathesius; and one infant brother, Carl Rabe, are deceased.
He was a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Army Air Corp in the European Theater as a B-17 pilot. He was a life member of the Stone City VFW.
Mr. Rabe was property administrator of the Joliet Arsenal for 35 years retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Sippi's Coffee Klutch.
Frank Martin

SEBRING, Fla. -- Frank D. Martin, 84, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Kankakee, died Monday (May 6, 2002) at Avon Beach Nursing Home in Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Woodland Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Bartlow will officiate.
He was born June 29, 1917, in Woodland, the son of Mannis and Nellie Strawser Martin.
Surviving are his wife, the former Geraldine Carpenter, whom he married
Oct. 2, 1954, in Las Vegas, Nev., of Sebring, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Bernadette Johnson of Sebring, Fla.; two daughters, Sonja Martin of Watseka, Brenda Saxton of Tacoma, Wash.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Helen Brown and Wilma and Ernie Tegtmeyer, all of Woodland, Theresa and Wes Clement of Watseka; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Two sisters are deceased.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.
Mr. Martin was a volunteer fireman and police officer in Watseka. He then moved to Kankakee and worked for Durell Realty.
He enjoyed training and working with horses.

MILFORD -- Ira E. "Donk" Stewart Jr., 77, of Milford, died Friday (May 10, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Milford, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Robert Killion will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery, Milford.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
He was born June 20, 1924, in Milford, the son of Ira E. Sr. and Addie Merrimam Stewart.
His wife, the former Betty Golliher, whom he married
Aug. 16, 1954, in Corinth, Miss., died April 25, 2000.
Surviving are three daughters and one son-in-law, Carol Krueger of Milford, Julie Stewart of Watseka, Brenda and Charles Plummer of Rankin; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Eva Lucille Anderson and an infant sister; and one granddaughter, Kellie Schroeder, are deceased.
He was a 1942 graduate of Milford High School and a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.
Mr. Stewart ran Stewarts TV Repair Shop for over 30 years.
He was a member of the Baptist faith.
He enjoyed playing cribbage and music.

WATSEKA -- Graveside services for Kathryn A. Gustafson, 85, of Rensselaer, Ind., formerly of Watseka, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Prairie Dell cemetery, Iroquois. Rev. Allen Cheney will officiate.
Cremation rites were accorded.
Baier Funeral Home, Watseka, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gustafson died Friday (May 10, 2002).
She was born Jan. 22, 1917, in Columbia City, Ind., the daughter of Harmon and Helen Creager Auer.
Her husband, Howard Gustafson, whom she married
April 29, 1951, died Sept. 3, 1999.
Surviving are one sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Clarence Fremion of Angola, Ind.; one brother and sister-in-law, Gail and Janet Auer of Columbia City, Ind.; three grandchildren, Bradley Bultman of Auburndale, Fla., Jaleen Deardurff of Rensselaer, Jackie Bultman of Indianapolis, Ind.; and two great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Alice Bultman; and one brother, Verlin Auer, are deceased.
Mrs. Gustafson owned and operated a beauty shop in Watseka from 1949 until her retirement in 1987.
She served on the planning commission and board of appeals under Mayor Bradshaw and Mayor Mueller in Watseka.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Watseka and Delta Theta Tau Sorority.

He was born May 7, 1919, in Green Garden Township, Monee, the son of George and Clara Ruhbeck Albers.

Oct. 25, 1941, in Peotone; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Raymond Clinton of Mt. Horeb, Wis.; one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Patricia Albers of Fort Collins, Colo.; one brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Irene Albers of Melvin; and three grandchildren.
Two brothers, Melvin Albers and Clarence Albers; and one sister, Elsie Albers, are deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of the Peotone American Legion Post 392, where he was past commander, and a member of the Manteno VFW.
Mr. Albers was a manager of lumber companies in Crete and Andres.
He was a Peotone Township Clerk for 37 years.
He was also a member of the Bradley Moose Lodge and past Elder of his church.
