BUNCOMBE -- James "T" Taylor, 70, of Buncombe, formerly of Kankakee, died Wednesday (Feb. 19, 2003) at his home.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. Monday until the 7 p.m. memorial service at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
Private interment will be held at Little Flock cemetery in Carterville.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Mr. Taylor was born April 4, 1932 near Carterville.
He was formerly married
to the former Donna Sue Lane.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Beth Taylor of Auburn; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mike Coleman of St. Claire, Minn.; four grandchildren; three brothers, Bill Taylor of Bucombe, Robert Taylor of Oklahoma, Lester Taylor of Mazon; one sister, Betty Slaughter of Kankakee; nieces and nephews.
One daughter, Lana Sue Taylor; and a brother, Carl Taylor, are deceased.
Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Vienna High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was a mental health technician at Manteno State Hospital and later at Anna State Hospital.
He was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed plants and wildlife.
Normajean Wood
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Normajean Marie Wood, 73, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Kankakee, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003), following an extended illness.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. March 8 until the noon funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kankakee. Rev. Richard Pighini will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery, Kankakee.
Mrs. Wood was born Oct. 24, 1929 in Whiting, Ind., the daughter of Robert and Ida Homan Gehrke. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Wood, whom she married
Dec. 1, 1951 at St. Patrick's Church in Kankakee, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Jim Wood and Dennis Wood, both of Denver, N.C., Scott and Jackie Wood of Plainfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Robert Beard of Baton Rouge, La.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Doris Ortman of Davenport, Iowa, Charlotte and Bob Emling of Kirkland; Georgene and Clarence Rohwedder of Vero Beach, Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Anne Gehrke of Herscher; and seven grandchildren.
Two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen and Jim Morris, and Helen and Chuck Fletcher, are deceased.
Mrs. Wood worked at Armour Pharmaceutical from 1964-92.
She was a member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kankakee.
Jesse Anderson
MOMENCE -- Jesse "School boy" Anderson Sr., 85, of Momence Meadows Nursing Center, died Friday (Feb. 21, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the 10 a.m. services at the Jones Funeral Home in Kankakee. Rev. Charles Brown will officiate.
Burial will be in the Momence cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was a retired construction worker.
He was born July 28, 1917, in Mississippi, the son of Rev. Joe and Emily Anderson.
His wife, the former Ethel McKinney, whom he married
April 3, 1962, is deceased.
Surviving are four sons and two daughters-in-law, James Anderson and Joe Anderson, both of Chicago, Jesse Jr. and Candy Anderson of Bourbonnais, Daniel Anderson of St. Louis, Mo., Judy Anderson of Chicago; one stepdaughter, Carrie and Willie Glenn of Momence; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
One aunt, Rose Brown, is deceased.
He enjoyed fishing.
Florence Bisping
PEOTONE -- Florence "Bam" Bisping, 95, of Peotone, died Sunday (Feb. 23, 2003) at the Anchorage of Beecher.
Visitation will be from 3p.m. Wednesday until the 7 p.m. services at the Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone. Rev. Barbara Lohrbach will officiate.
Private burial services will be held Thursday at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee. Pallbearers will be Craig, Ryan and Steven Morrison, Michael, Andrew and Matthew Hasik, Martin and Karl Lindemann and Jacob Domagalla.
Memorials may be made to the Anchorage of Beecher or to the Junior and Senior Youth Fellowships at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone, where she was a member.
Mrs. Bisping was employed 43 years before retiring from Remington Arms and Elco Company of University Park.
She was born Feb. 9, 1908, in Manhattan, the daughter of John and Anna Krohn Mundt.
Her husband, Raymond "Mo" Bisping, whom she married
Feb. 16, 1926, in Joliet, died in 1986.
Surviving are one daughter, Lois Morrison of Peotone; six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Mundt Berry of Peotone; three nieces and two nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Two sisters, two brothers, four sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, one son-in-law, Reese Morrison; one nephew, Marvin Bisping; and one great-grandson, Albert Lindemann are deceased.
She was a member of the Peotone Woman's Club.
Margaret Clements
MARTINTON -- Visitation for Margaret A. Clements, 67, of Martinton, will be from 4-8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the 11 a.m. services at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. John Coney will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery in Martinton.
Memorials may be made to the family or to the donor's choice.
She died Saturday (Feb. 22, 2003) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
Mrs. Clements was a retired factory worker from Dormeyer.
She was born April 8, 1935, in Lafayette, Ind., the daughter of Lloyd and Fae Murdaugh Hawkins. Her parents are deceased.
Her husband, Robert Clements, whom she married
Sept. 18, 1954, in Crawfordsville, Ind., is deceased.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Debra Clements of Morocco, Ind., Douglas and Rebecca Clements and Damon Clements, all of Martinton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Robert Osterhous of Woodland, Dewana "Dawn" and Vernon "Butch" Brault of Martinton; Danita "Dani" and Jimm Butkiewicz of Indianapolis, Ind.; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, James and Dorothy Clements of Lafayette, Ind.; one sister, Doris Rees of Clarks Hill, Ind.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Russell and Edith Hawkins and Walter Hawkins, all of Indiana; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two stepgrandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
One grandson, one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law are deceased.
Mrs. Clements was a member of the Martinton Church of Christ.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, watching game shows, playing cards and playing her electronic Yahtzee game.
George Duke
30-year employee at caterpiller
DWIGHT -- George William Duke, 59, of Dwight, died Friday (Feb. 21, 2003) at Morris Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hager Memorial Home in Dwight.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Duke retired in 1994 from Caterpillar after 30 years of service.
He was born July 22, 1943, in Flora, the son of Pearl Floyd and Lela Carlyle Duke. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Sharp of Cadiz, Ky.; and one brother and sister-in-law, Everette L. and Ann Duke of Converse, Texas.
He was a graduate of Flora Township High School.
Mr. Duke served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Dwight VFW and American Legion.
He was also a member of the Moose Lodge.
Tressie Hiles
Tressie L. Hiles, 80, of Kankakee, died Sunday (Feb. 23, 2003) at Provena Heritage Village.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
Mary Hutchison
MOMENCE -- Mary Hutchison, 83, died Saturday (Feb. 22, 2003) at Momence Meadows Nursing Center.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Joines Funeral Home, Rt. 130 S., Villa Grove.
Surviving are her husband, Freeman Hutchison of Villa Grove; one daughter, Patricia Blanchette of Manteno; one son, Jerry Wright of Monticello; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charley A. "Jake" Jacobson
SHELDON -- Charley A. "Jake" Jacobson, 87, of Sheldon, died Sunday (Feb. 23, 2003) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Sheldon cemetery. Rod Light will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Jacobson had been a purchasing agent at Iroquois Memorial Hospital for 18 years.
He was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Attica, Ind., the son of Benty and Georgia Burger Jacobson.
His wife, the former Elizabeth Jean Bussert, whom he married
Oct. 28, 1938, died July 13, 1987.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Julie A. and Ronald Lynn of Ashkum; one son and daughter-in-law, James E. and TJodie Jacobson of Sheldon; two granddaughters, Jill Tarro of Onarga, Lynn Corbin of Washington, Ill.; two grandsons, John Wright of Bourbonnais, Troy Jacobson of Sheldon; and five great-grandchildren.
One brother, one half-brother and one half-sister are deceased.
