Mrs. Orr died Feb. 2, 2003.
Burial was in Brenton cemetery, Piper City. Pallbearers were David Read, Jon Harris, Dennis Johnson, James Miller, Robert Weston and David Mylcraine.
Annette Davis
A funeral Mass for Annette C. Davis, 87, of Bradley, was celebrated Feb. 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Rev. John Antczak officiated.
Mrs. Davis died Feb. 3, 2003.
Burial was in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Kankakee. Pallbearers were Michael Davis, Don Tibbie, Bill Bryant and Bill Pettit.
Jack Jones
MOMENCE -- Services for Jack L. Jones, 70, of Momence, were held Feb. 7 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Grant Park. Rev. Clyd Lange officiated.
Mr. Jones died Feb. 3, 2003.
Burial, with military rites by the Momence Honor Guard, was in Union Corners cemetery, Grant Park. Pallbearers were Paul Lovrin, Ronald Bruce, Ronald Rundquist, Paul and Harold Johnson and Ron Herz.
Patricia Gibson
Services for Patricia "Patsy" Ann Gibson, 68, of Kankakee, were held Feb. 6 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
Mrs. Gibson died Feb. 2, 2003.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were David West, John Stevens, Bruce Clark, James and Greg Cantrell and Mayor Donald Green.
Robert Carrington
Services for Robert L. "Buddy" Carrington, 66, of Kankakee, were held Feb. 6 at the Fitzpatrick Funeral Home in Kankakee. Rev. Michael Powers officiated.
Mr. Carrington died Feb. 3, 2003.
Burial of cremains was Feb. 8 in the Evergreen cemetery in Chebanse.
Kathryn Heldt
GRANT PARK -- Services for Kathryn O. Heldt, 82, of rural Grant Park, were held Feb. 8 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Grant Park. Rev. Clyde E. Lange officiated.
Mrs. Heldt died Feb. 5, 2003.
Burial was in Heusing cemetery in rural Grant Park. Pallbearers were Chad and Kyle Heldt, Bob Hoevet, Roger and Gary Dupuis and Glenn Hoevet.
Veronica Sweeney
GILMAN -- A funeral Mass for Veronica Lucille "Tut" Sweeney, 85, of Gilman, was celebrated Feb. 8 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilman. Rev. John Balluff officiated.
Mrs. Sweeney died Feb. 5, 2003.
Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery in Gilman. Pallbearers were Jerry, David, Daniel and Michael Sweeney and Thad and Andrew Mogensen.
Merle Haley
lifelong farmer
KEMPTON -- Merle L. Haley, 83, of Kempton, and a resident at Evenglow Lodge since 1989, died Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003) at Evenglow Lodge-Tjardes Healthcare Center in Pontiac.
Private family services were held Feb. 10 at the Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home in Pontiac. Rev. Herb Thompson officiated.
Burial was in the Kempton-Hill cemetery, Kempton.
Mr. Haley was a lifelong farmer in the Kempton area. He was also in the tiling business for many years with his brother and nephews.
He was born Jan. 13, 1920, in rural Kempton, the son of Harrison and Elsie Lauffer Haley.
His wife, the former Evelyn Mae Galloway, whom he married
April 27, 1944, in Birmingham, Ala., died March 1, 1985.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and William E. Croft III of West Bloomfield, Mich., Dianne and Jim Stecher of Kempton, Delores and Dr. Allen Zarnow of Wichita Falls, Texas; and five grandchildren.
One brother, Donald Haley, is deceased.
He was a 1937 graduate of Cullom High School and graduated from the University of Illinois.
Mr. Haley served with the U.S. Army in England and Okinawa during World War II.
He was a member of the Cullom United Methodist Church.
Wayne Hall
Visitation for Wayne Hall, 74, of Bradley, will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Provena St. Mary's Auxiliary or to the family wishes.
He died Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003) in the emergency room at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, after an extended illness.
Mr. Hall was retired from Kankakee Roper. He also repaired and built custom golf clubs.
He was born Jan. 10, 1929, in St. Anne, the son of Samuel and Lorretta Manny Hall. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Venita VadeBonCoeur, whom he married
Oct. 7, 1950, at St. Anne Catholic Church, of Bradley; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Scott Natschke and Patti and Larry Horrell, all of Kankakee; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Rita Hall of Bradley; and five grandsons, Eric and Ginger Horrell, Phillip Horrell, Grant Natschke, Brandon Hall Collins and Lee Cote.
One son, William Hall, is deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Military Police during the Korean War.
Mr. Hall was a member of the Bradley Moose and Shamrock Golf Course.
He loved golf and high school football.
Kenneth Hoffman

DWIGHT -- Visitation for Kenneth J. Hoffman, 83, of Dwight, will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. services at the Hager Memorial Home in Dwight. Rev. William Leppin will officiate.
Burial will be in McDowell cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne and Mark Jensen, Shane, Ryan and Tyler Hoffman and Bryan Holzhauer.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
He died Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003) at Heritage Manor in Dwight.
Mr. Hoffman was a retired postal carrier and clerk from the U.S. Postal Service in Dwight.
He was born March 22, 1919, in Dwight, the son of William H. and Florence McFarlane Hoffman.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Finley, whom he married
March 14, 1942, in Dwight; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Lee Jensen of Dwight; three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Becky Hoffman of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Daniel and Mardi Hoffman of Whitewater, Wis., Thomas and Debbie Hoffman of Pecatonica; one sister, Virginia Groom of Davenport, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Two infant brothers; one sister, Aileen Fredrickson; and three brothers, Irwin Hoffman, Harland Hoffman and Charles Hoffman, are deceased.
He was a graduate of Dwight Township High School and a member of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Hoffman served with U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. He participated in the D-Day landing in Normandy at Utah Beach with the 4th Infantry. He was wounded during the invasion and was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the European Theater Operation Ribbon with the Invasion Arrow, the Presidential Unit Citation and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Patricia Nissen
BEECHER -- Patricia Ann Nissen, 74, of Beecher, died Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003) at her home.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at the Hack Funeral Home in Beecher.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Grant Park, where she was a member. Rev. Christopher Pratt will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery, Grant Park.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Grant Park, where she was a member.
Mrs. Nissen retired from civil service at Howe Developmental and Manteno State Hospital.
She was born April 1, 1928, in Chicago, the daughter of George and Louise Munden Heusing.
Surviving are her husband, John Nissen of Beecher; three sons, Larry Nissen of Mokena, James Nissen of Grant Park, Jeff Nissen of Beecher; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Charles McConkey of LaFarge, Wis.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One son is deceased.

BEECHER -- Lila Mae Ohlendorf, 77, of Beecher, died Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003) at St. James Hospital.
Services were held at 11 a.m. today at the Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a member. Rev. Ron Rock officiated.
Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery.
Miss Ohlendorf was a plant accountant.
She was born March 28, 1925, in Blue Island, the daughter of Eric and Marie Kregel Ohlendorf.
Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Marilyn Ohlendorf; one nephew, Tim Ohlendorf of Lowell, Ind., one niece, Kim Donohue of Kentland, Ind.; and one great-niece and four great-nephews.
