PEOTONE -- Donald F. Kennealy, 53, of Peotone, died Wednesday (Feb. 5, 2003) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee.
Cremation rites were accorded.
Private services will be held.
Fedde-Helfrich Chapel in Peotone is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kennealy was a small business owner.
He was born April 27, 1949, in Chicago, the son of James and Elma Cambourn Kennealy. His parents are deceased.
Suriviving are his wife, the former Linda Ashe, whom he married
Nov. 22, 1968, in Homewood, of Peotone; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jon Kennealy and Chris and Aimee Kennealy, all of Peotone; one daughter, Erin Kennealy of Joliet; two brothers, Devin Crawford and Brian Crawford; and one sister, Patricia Quinto.
Mr. Kennealy was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
Dorothy Nance
OSPREY, Fla. -- Dorothy Nance, 83, of Osprey, Fla., formerly of Kankakee, died Wednesday (Feb. 5, 2003).
No services are planned at this time.
Memorials may be made to the Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center, 2139 Main St., Sarasota, FL 34237 or to the donor's choice.
She was born May 19, 1919, in Fairbury, the daughter of Henry and Maude Schnetzler.
Her first husband, Paul Baron, whom she married
in 1939, died in 1958.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Nance, whom she married
in 1965; three sons, David Baron of Stanford, Calif., Donald Baron of Menlo Park, Calif. and Dennis Baron of Stoneham, Mass.
She attended Gallagher Business College in Kankakee.
Upon the death of her first husband, she operated Baron Brothers Oil Co. with her brother-in-law, G. Robert Baron, until shortly after her second marriage.
Mrs. Nance was active in the Garden Club and a member of the Kankakee Country Club and Asbury United Methodist Church.
She moved to Florida in 1986.
Jeff Phillips
COAL CITY -- Jeff Phillips, 42, of Coal City, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City. Rev. Mike Pennock will officiate.
Burial will be in the Braceville-Gardner cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Manietta, Greg Phillips, Todd Togliatti, Greg Hodgen Tim Sayers and Bruce Radomski.
Memorials may be made to the Andy Phillips Education Trust at KFS Bank in Coal City.
Mr. Phillips was a mechanic in his family's service station. He later worked at Anderson Auto Supply and was currently a shop foreman at "D" Construction in Coal City for the past eight and one half years.
He was born April 21, 1960, in Morris, the son of Joseph T. and Margaret "Pat" Matthews Phillips.
Surviving are his wife, the former Debra Kirchner, whom he married
in September 1982, in Morris, of Coal City; one son, Andrew Phillips at home; one stepson, Jason Proffitt of Joliet; his parents of Coal City; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Michele Phillips of Coal City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jill and Curly Vaughn, Jane and Jeff Wills, all of Coal City; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
His grandparents are deceased.
He was a 1978 graduate of Coal City High School.
Bertha Weber
CISSNA PARK -- Visitation for Bertha E. Weber, 90, of Cissna Park, willl be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park, and from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. services at the Danforth Reformed Church. Rev. Donald MacDonald will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Gilman.
Memorials may be made to the Danforth Reformed Church, where she was a member.
Mrs. Weber died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka.
She was born Aug. 28, 1912, in Danforth, the daughter of Cornelius and Grace Bensma Saxsma.
Her husband, Lawrence B. Weber, whom she married
Aug. 28, 1937, in Gilman, died Aug. 9, 1977.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters-in-law, Francis and Marianne Weber of Cissna Park, Dennis and Joyce Weber of Rankin, Earl Weber and Linda Weber, both of Cissna Park; two daughters and one son-in-law, Marion Weber of Cissna Park, Shirley and Roger Johnson of Bourbonnais; four brothers, Roy Saxsma of Roberts, Almon Saxsma of Danforth, Maurice Saxsma of Gilman, Floyd Saxsma of Englewood, Fla.; two sisters, Marie Cotter of Gifford, Rachel Koets of Gilman; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers; one sister; and one son, Roger, are deceased.
She enjoyed gardening and quilting.
William Drury
A funeral Mass for William T. "Bill" Drury Sr. 72, of Bourbonnais, was celebrated Feb. 6 at Maternity BVM Catholic Church. Rev. James Michaletz officiated.
Mr. Drury died Feb. 2, 2003.
Burial was in All Saints cemetery, Bourbonnais. Pallbearers were Neil, Bruce and Dave Coleman, Eddie King, Jimmy Durham and Rich Mann. Honorary pallbearers were Lou Hinkelman and Jim Saindon.
Bernice Macevice
Services for Bernice C. Macevice, 76, of Canton, formerly of Kankakee, were held Feb. 6 at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Rev. James Offutt officiated.
Mrs. Macevice died Feb. 3, 2003.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Robbie Blair, Jarrod Gillhan, Robert Howell, Maria Putnam and Christopher and Mark Maves.
Brenda Clevenger
Visitation for Brenda S. Clevenger, 49, of Kankakee, will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Kankakee, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. John Marvin will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made for her daughter's education.
She died Tuesday (Feb. 4, 2003) at her home, after a short illness.
Mrs. Clevenger was employed at Sears Logistic Center in Manteno.
She was born Sept. 29, 1953, in Kankakee, the daughter of Frank and Dorothy Keck Parks. Her father is deceased.

Oct. 4, 1969, in Kankakee; two sons, James Clevenger Jr. and Luke Clevenger, both of Kankakee; two daughters and one son-in-law, Melissa Clevenger of Kankakee, Tamela and Jason Atwood of Champaign; her mother, Dorthy Ruiz of Vicksburg, Miss.; six sisters and five brothers-in-law, Barbara and Terry Learned of Marion, Bonnie and Delbert Miller and Charlene and Charlie Swinford, all of Kankakee, Beulah and Darrel Leach of Grant Park, Irene and Swan Keck and Oma Campbell, all of Tazewell, Tenn.; eight brothers and seven sisters-in-law, J.C. and Debbie Parks of Vicksburg, Miss., Arvillee and Rosann Parks of Chicopee, Mass., John and Jackie Parks of Vicksburg, Miss., R.C. and Deann Parks of Momence, Harley and Lois Parks of Bradley, Crockett Parks of Ashkum, Clemans and Pat LeMar of Bradley, Onnie and Mary Parks of Manteno; and three grandchildren.
One brother, Carlie Parks; and two sisters, Betty Parks and Meade Eads, are deceased.
Mrs. Clevenger was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Ella Courtright
WWII veteran
Ella Mae Courtright, 89, of Kankakee, died Wednesday (Feb. 5, 2003) at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.
Per her request there will be no visitation.
Cremation rites will be accorded by the Brown Funeral Home in Manteno.
Private burial services will be held at the Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood, where inurnment of her ashes and those of her late husband, John Marion Courtright, will be placed in the Veteran's Wall.
Memorials may be made to the Member Benefit Fund at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.
Mrs. Courtright was employed 34 years at the Manteno State Hospital, the current site of the Illinois Veterans Home.
She was born Oct. 4, 1913, in McLeansboro, the daughter of William Wallace and Ella Mae Gross Parsons.
Her first husband, Ira Nathaniel English, whom she married
in 1930, was killed in a auto accident in 1938.
Her second husband, John Marion Courtright, whom she married
Aug. 28, 1948, died Feb. 22, 1994.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Hugh Curtis of New Orleans, La.; one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter and three great-great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Ruth (Paul) Markum of Washington, Ill., Joy Dalton of Rockford; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Parsons of Hanover, Pa., Silvetta Parsons of Delavan, Wis.; one son and daughter-in-law, Marion Dale and Joyce Courtright of East Alton; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gerald Haan of Westminster, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Bailey and Lois Plonien, both of Geff; two brothers-in-law, Arthur (Janet) Courtright of Oklawaha, Fla. and Leon Courtright of Zion; and neighbors who cared for her after the loss of her husband.
Three brothers, Pete, Everett and Wayne Parsons; one half-brother, Earl Parsons; three brothers-in-law, Kenneth, Walter and Guy Courtright; and one sister-in-law, Vera Kelley are deceased.
She served in the Army Air Force during World War II as a nursing medical tech attaining the rank of corporal.
Mrs. Courtright was a member of the American Lutheran Church.
Don Gocker

WATSEKA -- A memorial service for Don Gocker, 75, of Watseka, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Watseka Public Library Building Fund.
He died Wednesday (Feb. 5, 2003) at his home.
Mr. Gocker was co-owner and operator of Midwest Printing from 1961-1988.
He was former police commissioner for Watseka, past president of the Watseka Mental Health Board and past president of the Iroquois Industrial Development Association.
He was a charter member of the Watseka Elks Lodge and a longtime member of the Watseka Lions Club and Shewami Country Club.
He was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Beaver Dam, Wis., the son of Alfred J. and Arlene Filzen Gocker.
Surviving are his wife, the former Eleanor Long, whom he married
July 16, 1949, in New York City, N.Y., of Watseka; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Craig and Laurie Gocker of Bloomington, Scott Gocker and friend, Kim Wendel of Watseka; three grandchildren; and one sister, Elaine Koehn of Beaver Dam, Wis.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
