Bernice Macevice
CANTON -- Visitation for Bernice C. Macevice, 76, of Canton, formerly of Kankakee, will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. services at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Rev. James Offott will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Mrs. Macevice died Monday (Feb. 3, 2003) at her home.
She was born March 29, 1926 in Martinton, the daughter of August and Henrietta Goyette Floriant.
Her husband, Zigmount Macevice, whom she married
Jan. 22, 1966 in Chicago, died Nov. 5, 1994.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Mark Michael and Michelle Meves of Canton; one daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Edward McElroy of Orland Park; three sisters, Hazel Brennan of Bradley, Pearl Niedert of Chicago Heights, Katie Blair of Portage, Ind.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
One brother, Glenn Floriant; two sisters, Chara Anderson and Frances Monroe; and an infant twin son, are deceased.
Mrs. Macevice worked at St. Mary's Hospital and Riverside medical Center as a nursing assistant when she first came to Kankakee.
She then worked at Kroehlers Manufacturing for many years.
She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, and had worked for Catholic Charities.
Annie Mellein
OLMSTED -- Annie Helen Mellein, 81, of Olmsted, formerly of Kankakee, died Monday (Feb. 3, 2003) at the Daystar Care Center in Cairo.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Jones Funeral Home, Villa Ridge, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday. Bill McGhee and Rev. Mike Abel will officiate.
Burial will be in the Masonic cemetery in Grand Chain.
She was born March 1, 1921, in Pulaski, the daughter of William Edward Lance and Annie Atherton Lance Rusche.
Her husband, Victor Cecil Mellein, died Sept. 13, 1987.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, William Victor and Peggy Mellein of Olmsted; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Teresa and Robert Alford, Anna Mae and Manuel Garcia, all of Villa Ridge, Mary Catherine Loudy of Kankakee, Gladys Helen and Gary Rabideau of Olmsted; one brother, Charles Lance of West Frankfort; 23 granchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and four great-great-granchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, William Alfred Lance and Floyd Lance; one sister, Mary Ellen Sharp; and one granddaughter, Patti Ann Crisman, are deceased.
Mrs. Mellein and her husband formerly lived in the Kankakee area.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mound City.
Edna Orr
PIPER CITY -- Visitation for Edna Orr, 94, of Greenbrier Healthcare Center, Piper City, will be from 12:30 p.m. Thursday until the 2:30 p.m. services at the United Methodist Church in Piper City, where she was a member. Rev. Jan Miller will officiate.
Burial will be in Brenton cemetery, Piper City.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, Piper City or to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Orr died Sunday (Feb. 2, 2003) at Greenbrier Healthcare Center.
She was born Aug. 23, 1908, south of Piper City, the daughter of George and Emma Bork Weber.
Her husband, Clifford G. Orr, whom she married
Oct. 23, 1926, in Watseka, died Sept. 6, 1987.
Surviving are two daughters, Eileen Read of Piper City, Arla Ritter of Salinas, Calif.; one son, Leland Orr of Piper City; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
One son, Kenneth, two sisters and two brothers are deceased.
Michael Williams
OAK PARK -- Michael R. Williams, 39, of Oak Park, and the son of a Kankakee resident, died Monday (Feb. 3, 2003).
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today at the Hallowell and James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. John of the Cross Church in Western Springs.
Burial will be in Queen of Heaven cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
His wife, the former Carol J. Nelson, is deceased.
Surviving are his parents, Michael and Dianne Williams of Kankakee and Beverley Prichard; one brother and sister-in-law, Dr. D. Patrick and Carey Williams; grandmother, Helen Prichard; one niece and one nephew; one uncle and one aunt.
One sister, Kristine Williams; and his grandparents, Robert Prichard and David and Christina Williams; are deceased.
Alice Harris
Services for Alice L. Harris, 93, of Kankakee were held Feb. 1 at Hertz-Thoma Chapel in Kankakee. Rev. James Williams officiated.
Mrs. Harris died Jan. 29, 2003.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Dick Massman, Graig Wiegel, Bill Moranz, Marshall Dusenbery and Mike Vollrath.
Kerstin Herron
Services for Kerstin Herron, 30, of Wellington, were held Feb. 1 at Prairie Green Church of Christ in Hoopeston. Rev. Charles Alt officiated.
Mrs. Herron died Jan. 28, 2003.
Burial was in Maple Grove cemetery in Milford. Pallbearers were Tracy, Todd and Ted Herron, Daniel Kronz, Darren Wheeler and Nathan Holsher.
Clarence Bebout
32-year Heinz employee
Clarence E. "Eugene" Bebout, 58, of Bourbonnais, died Saturday (Feb. 1, 2003) at St. James Olympia Fields Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Randy VanFossan will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to his children's education.
Mr. Bebout was born Aug. 27, 1944 in Rosiclare, the son of Clarence M. and Alma M. Williams Bebout. His father is deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Theresa "Terri" Coxey, whom he married
July 1, 1967 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bradley, of Bourbonnais; one son, William A. "Bill" Bebout and fiancee Laura Grant of Bourbonnais; one daughter, Noel Bebout of Bourbonnais; one sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Dailey Spencer of Vichy, Mo.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Dorothy Bebout of Arrapaho, Okla., John and Nelda Bebout of Oklahoma; three brothers-in-law, John and Debbie Coxey of Winthrop Harbor, Lloyd and Carylon Shryock of Alabama, Wayne and Donna Jackson of Bourbonnais; one sister-in-law, Karla and Jeff Smith of Limestone; his mother, Alma Bebout of Bradley; a special friend, Roberta Olson of Bourbonnais; 10 nephews; nine nieces; seven great-nephews; and six great-nieces.
One brother, Richard Bebout, is deceased.
Mr. Bebout was retired from Heinz after 32 years.
He received an associate degree from Kankakee Community College with honors in industrial maintenance and applied science.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a finance specialist.
Mr. Bebout was a member of First Baptist Church in Manteno, the Kankakee County Emergency Corps, Bradley American Legion, and Phi Theta Kappa.
He enjoyed woodworking, computers and ham radio.
Colbert Campbell

MOMENCE -- Colbert Campbell, 67, of Momence, died Friday (Jan. 31, 2003) at Momence Meadows Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. service at First Baptist Church in Momence. Rev. Bill Steger will officiate.
Burial will be in Momence cemetery.
Arrangements are by Leggett Funeral Home in Hopkins Park.
Mrs. Campbell was born Oct. 29, 1935 in Chicago, the daughter of Claude and Ruth Pugh. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, William Campbell, whom she married
Sept. 19, 1971 in Las Vegas, Nev., of Momence; three stepsons, William Campbell Jr. and Cecil Campbell, both of Kankakee, Chris and Diana Campbell of Peoria; one sister, Mary F. Campbell of Momence; and six grandchildren.
One brother is deceased.
Mrs. Campbell was a retired nurse from Manteno Mental Health Center.
She was a resident of the area for 50 years.
She was a member of the Momence VFW, First Baptist Church in Momence, and enjoyed painting, crocheting and fishing.
Evelyn Dimpel
Evelyn E. Dimpel, 89, of Kankakee, formerly of Elmhurst, died Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003).
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today at Chapel Hills Funeral Home in Oakbrook Terrace, Villa Park.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Congregational United Church of Christ. Pastor Boyle will officiate.
Burial will be in Chapel Hills cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace, Villa Park.
Mrs. Dimpel was born Jan. 10, 1914 in Hinsdale, the daughter of Henry and Anna Raatz Kopka.
Her husband, John R. Dimpel, whom she married
Sept. 30, 1933 in Hinsdale, is deceased.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Alice Dimpel of Villa Park; three daughters and one son-in-law, Jeanette and Howard Shapiro of Globe, Ariz., Joyce A. Dimpel and Mary D. Dimpel, both of Kankakee; one sister, Priscilla Pierce of Clarendon Hills; one brother, Elmer Kopka of Downers Grove; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Five sisters; and two brothers, are deceased.
Mrs. Dimpel was a proofreader for Sears at the Sears Tower, Chicago.
She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Kankakee.
She enjoyed gardening, holiday baking and cooking for parties, and traveling.
