COUNTRY CLUB HILLS -- Services for Cora J. Benn, 46, of Country Club Hills, formerly of Kankakee, were held Jan. 28 at New Faith Baptist Church in Matteson. Rev. Vera Stewart officiated.
Ms. Benn was born March 18, 1956.
Burial was in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory, Kankakee. Pallbearers were Anthony, Christopher, Raymond E. III Benn, Anthony Love, Mark Dear and Randy Allen.
Mark Pawloski
Services for Mark M. Pawloski, 55, of Kankakee, were held Jan. 31 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Rev. Norm Weiss officiated.
Mr. Pawlowski died Jan. 28, 2003.
Burial with military rites by the Momence Honor Guard was in Heusing cemetery in Grant Park. Pallbearers were Dave Miller, Harold Kemp, Bruce Davis, Butch Hackley, Mark Meents and Paul Smith.
Connie Bartin
Services for Connie Jean Barten, 50, of Bourbonnais, were held Jan. 31 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bradley. Rev. Tom Wilbur officiated.
Mrs. Barten died Jan. 28, 2003.
Burial was in Villa Grove cemetery, Villa Grove. Pallbearers were Amanda and Lucinda LaPierry, Ryan Lillis and Ryan Bailey.
Imogene Ward
Services for Imogene L. Ward, 81, of Bradley, were held Jan. 31 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Rev. Paul Mount officiated.
Mrs. Ward died Jan. 27, 2003.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Scott and Steve Burton, Bill and Rick Norton, Rob and Troy Scivally, Brad and Kirk Ward.
Ruth Davison
Visitation for Ruth Helen Davison, 84, of Bradley, will be from 1-5 p.m. today at Hertz-Thoma Chapel in Kankakee, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. Rev. Martin R. Gutzmer will officiate.
Burial with military honors by the Aroma Park F Troop will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Center Against Sexual Assault, or Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member.
Mrs. Davison died Friday (Jan. 31, 2003) at Bradley Royale Nursing Home.
She was born March 12, 1918 in Kankakee, the daughter of Frank H. and Estle Ball Bass.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Danny and Michelle Davison of Kankakee, Bill Davison and Alice Mansfield of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Estelita B. Andrews of Kankakee; one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne E. and Bea Bass of Kankakee; one grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
One sister, Ina Mae Carraher, is deceased.
Mrs. Davison was retired from Montgomery Ward.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
She was an accomplished piano player.
Victor Roberts
EUGENE, Ore. -- Victor John Roberts, Jr., 43, of Eugene, Ore., formerly of Kankakee, died Saturday (Jan. 25, 2003) at his home following a sudden illness.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
He spent his childhood on riverfront property in Momence, where scattering of cremains will be over the Kankakee River.
Mr. Roberts was born Oct. 8, 1959, in Kankakee, the son of Victor and Betty Joe Workman Roberts. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are a son, Gregory John Roberts of Oregon; one brother and sister-in-law, Vincent and Rayette Roberts of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Diana Roberts of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Juanita and Gary Fruehling of Bradley; seven nephews; one niece; five aunts, including Mary Davis of Momence; three uncles, including Theodore and Delores Workman of Momence; seven grand-nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
Two uncles, Robert S. Workman and Frank Roberts; and his grandparents, Frisco and Mattie Workman, and John and Myrtle Roberts, are deceased.
Mr. Roberts attended schools in Momence and Columbia, Ky., and earned a GED.
He was a member of the White Tornadoes Drum and Bugle Corp from Momence in the early 1970s and enjoyed attending drum and bugle corp competitions and hot air balloon festivals.
He was a self-taught artist and was skilled in plumbing and landscaping.
Dolores Erwin
WATSEKA -- Dolores Mae Erwin, 72, of Beardstown, formerly of Watseka, died Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003) at her home.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
She was born Feb. 12, 1930, in Chicago Heights, the daughter of Frank and Rose Bertrand Erwin.
Surviving are three daughters, Shelly Lotshaw and William Wilson of Watseka, Lena Jantzen of Sparwood, British Columbia, Canada, Cery Nolling of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Lloyd Nolling of Bakersfield, Calif., Mike and Christina Williams of Germany; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Two sisters are deceased.
Ms. Erwin was active with Harbor House.
Lloyd Eveland

PIPER CITY --Visitation for Lloyd "Bing" Eveland, 101, of Piper City, will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. services at the Piper City United Methodist Church. Rev. Jan Miller will officiate.
Burial will be in Brenton Cemetery, Piper City.
Memorials may be made to the Piper City Public Library or to the Piper City United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are by the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
Mr. Eveland had worked for Williams Oilomatic Co. in Bloomington. In 1944, he moved to Piper City and became a bulk dealer for the Standard Oil Company.
He died Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003) at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
He was born April 28, 1901, in Bath, the son of John Guthrie and Ellen Maude Lockwood Eveland.
His first wife, the former Barbara Ann Marksteiner, whom he married
Dec. 6, 1924, in Chicago, died Aug. 1, 1992.
Surviving are his wife, the former F. Nadine Brooks Lawrence, whom he married
Dec. 17, 1994 in Bloomington, of Piper City; one daughter, Betty Cook of Piper City; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Dorothy Eveland of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
One half-brother and one half-sister are deceased.
He was the first student to graduate from Bath High School in 1922. He attended Illinois State Normal University to participate in the marching band. Mr. Eveland played big band music and jazz in and around the Bloomington area in the 1930s. He loved playing his clarinet and saxophone.
He lived in Chicago, Bloomington, Piper City and Mountain Home, Ark.
Mr. Eveland enjoyed working crossword puzzles in the daily newspaper and read two books a week. He also enjoyed being with people; and was a great story teller and had many to tell. He was a fan of stand-up comics of the past and could remember so many of their jokes.
He was a lifelong Cubs fan and followed all of the athletes as they moved from club to club.
He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge.
He loved fishing.
Frances Harrison
WATSEKA -- Services for Frances M. Harrison, 93, of Watseka, were held Jan. 30 at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Craig Keith officiated.
Mrs. Harrison died Jan. 28, 2003.
Burial was in Prairie Dell cemetery in Iroquois. Pallbearers were James and Tom Taylor, Jon Wessels, Richard McGill, Theral Woods and Gary Raymond.
Bonnie Gregory
WATSEKA -- Graveside services for Bonnie D. Gregory, 68, of Watseka, were held Jan. 29 in Maple Grove cemetery, Milford. Rev. Gary Milton officiated.
Mrs. Gregory died Jan. 27, 2003.
Pallbearers were Mathew Bray, Josh Lauterbach, Paul Bray and Nicholas Gregory.
Donald Yeoman
ST. ANNE -- A funeral Mass for Donald Yeoman, 75, of St. Anne, was celebrated Jan. 30 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Rev. James Fanale officiated.
Mr. Yeoman died Jan. 27, 2003.
Burial was in St. Anne cemetery. Pallbearers were Jamie Stalnecker, Sara Mancuso, Stephanie Yeoman, Christopher Mancuso, Nicholas and Todd Yeoman, Kalee Easter and Holly Yeoman.

CRESCENT CITY -- Helene Heidorn, 93, of Crescent City, died Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003) at Prairieview Lutheran Home-Faith Place in Danforth.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the 10:30 a.m. services at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Rev. James Ritter will officiate.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Zion Lutheran cemetery in Bensenville.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Heidorn was a telephone operator for many years.
She was born April 7, 1909, in Germany, the daughter of Gustav and Mathilda Janke Krantz.
Her husband, Rev. Erwin Heidorn, whom she married
Nov. 14, 1931, in Olpe, Kan., died July 31, 1961.
Surviving are one daughter, Dorothy Heidorn of Crescent City; and one son, Carl Heidorn of Hurst, Texas.
Two brothers, one sister and one son, Daniel Heidorn are deceased.
Mrs. Heidorn was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Woodworth.
