Mark M. Pawloski, 55, of Kankakee, died Tuesday (Jan. 28, 2003) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Burial will be in the Heusing cemetery in Grant Park.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
Mr. Pawloski was employed at the Kmart Distribution Center in Manteno.
He was born April 6, 1947, in Kankakee, the son of Norman and Doris Jensen Pawloski. His father is deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Cindy Heusing, whom he married
Oct. 20, 1989, in Kankakee; one son, Matthew Pawloski and Denise Medina of Kankakee; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sheri and Don Goodrich of Clifton, Elizabeth Heusing of Kankakee; his mother, Doris LeVeque of Bradley; four sisters, Sandra Drazy, Georgia McGrath and Teri Simpson, all of Bourbonnais and Suzetta Tilley of Bradley; one brother, Gerald LeVeque of Bourbonnais; and 10 grandchildren.
His maternal and paternal grandparents and stepfather, Alan G. LeVeque, are deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam Conflict as a paratrooper and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Mr. Pawloski was the vice-president of the Bradley-Bourbonnais Sportsmans Club and a member of the Bradley VFW.
He enjoyed camping and gardening.
Joseph Tyler
MOKENA -- Joseph Robert Tyler, 16 months, of Mokena, and the grandson of area residents, died Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
He was born Sept. 29, 2001, in Joliet, the son of Josh and Katie Wrobel Tyler.
Joey Tyler was a gift to all the day he was born. He was an exceptional child that won the hearts of everyone he met. Without words, movements or expressions he became the child, the sibling and the inspiration of hundreds of families. Joey was affectionately known as "Little Buddy, " "Boot Boot, " "Nunzie's Boy, " "Bubba" and "Mr. Good Baby." His strength and courage came from the families of Smetana, Ferrell, Keneally, Plese and Tyler. We would like to thank our entire family, our Tall Grass neighbors, Joey's dedicated therapy team and our wonderful friends. In his own way, Joey made each of us a better person and he will live forever in our hearts.
Surviving besides his loving parents are his maternal grandparents, Sharon and James Ferrell of Channahon; paternal grandmother, Marilyn Tyler of Elwood; maternal great-grandparents, Patricia and Robert Smetana of Lockport; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
His paternal grandfather, James Tyler, is deceased.
Visitation will be from noon Friday until the 2 p.m. services at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Cedar at Francis Roads in New Lenox. Rev. Michael Schweifler will officiate.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joey's name to The Good Shepherd Center for Exceptional Children in Flossmoor.

Imogene Ward
Kankakee State Hospital retiree
Visitation for Imogene L. Ward, 81, of Bradley, will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. Paul Mount will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
She died Monday (Jan. 27, 2003) at the Miller Center in Kankakee.
Mrs. Ward retired from Kankakee State Hospital after 32 years of service.
She was born June 18, 1921, in Anna, the daughter of William and Carrie Wray Sadler.
Her husband, Vernon D. Ward, whom she married
July 23, 1953, in Kankakee, died Feb. 12, 1995.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Donna Scivally of Bradley, David and Pat Ward of Ashkum; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Kenny Burton of Kankakee, Carolyn and Sonny Norton of Bradley; one sister, Connie Keller of Manteno; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Ray and Margaret Sadler and Cecile Schlenker, all of Anna; and 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Eugene and Carl Sadler; and one great-granddaughter, Malissa Scivally, are deceased.
Mrs. Ward was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Avis Werkau
SHELDON -- Visitation for Avis Winona Werkau, 75, of Sheldon, will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
Burial will be in Oklahoma.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
She died Monday (Jan. 27, 2003) at her home.
After high school, Mrs. Werkau was an elevator operator at Hotel Tulsa for J. Paul Getty. She then worked as a waitress in Crescent City, Watseka and Gilman.
She was born June 22, 1927, in Battiest, Okla., the daughter of Jesse P. and Effie Davis Walden.
Her husband, Donald M. Werkau, whom she married
in January 1947, in Gilman, died in 1985.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Robin Werkau and Ron and Susan Werkau, all of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mylla and Leonard Thompson of Springfield, Tenn., Gail and Richard Sanders of Prescott, Wis.; two sisters, Geraldine Williams and Celestine Wells, both of Battiest, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.
One brother, John Preston Walden; and one grandchild, Joni Lynn Werkau are deceased.
Justie Williams
ST. ANNE -- Graveside services for Justie Williams, infant son of Jonathan Williams and Waltmetur Taylor of St. Anne, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Momence cemetery.
Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
Justice died at birth Friday (Jan. 24, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Surviving besides his parents are one sister, Jakerria Williams of St. Anne; one brother, Marshall Smith of St. Anne; maternal grandparents, Walther and Alverta Taylor of St. Anne; paternal grandparents, Raymond Smith of St. Anne and Anetta Williams of Kankakee; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Carl Zenke
CISSNA PARK -- Carl Christian Zenke, 88, of Collinsville, Ala., formerly of Broadlands and rural Cissna Park, died Thursday (Jan. 16, 2003) at home.
Services were held Jan. 19 at the Collinsville Funeral Home in Collinsville, Ala. Rev. Perry Broom officiated.
Mr. Zenke had farmed in the Cissna Park area and at that time was a member of the Union Church in Cissna Park.
He was born Aug. 2, 1914, in Broadlands, the son of William Edgar and Margareth Kuhlman Zenke.
His first wife, Louise Zenke, is deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Irene Smith, of Collinsville; two daughters and sons in law, Sue and Louis Chandler of Buckley, Margaret and Larry Seggebruch of Onarga; one stepdaughter, Barbara Holland of Huntsville, Ala.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Two daughters are deceased.
Mr. Zenke was a member of Vernon Baptist Church and a 32nd Degree Mason.
Alfred Ahlborn,
WW II veteran
PEOTONE -- Alfred W. Ahlborn Jr., 82, of Peotone, died Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) at his home.
Cremation rites were accorded.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ahlborn was a retired car salesman at Trader-Schroeder Dodge-Chrysler in Peotone.
He was born June 7, 1920, in Peotone, the son of Alfred W. Sr. and Hazel L. Eichenlaub Ahlborn.
Surviving are his wife, the former Barbara Jacobs, whom he married
June 26, 1960, in Morris, of Peotone; one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Cathy Ahlborn of Peotone; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Brian Oliver of Peotone, Cindy and Alfred Sorenson of Tinley Park; and seven grandchildren.
One son, Gary Ahlborn, is deceased.
Mr. Ahlborn was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.
He was a member of the Peotone American Legion Post 392 and the Masons.
Katherine Bauman,

WATSEKA -- Katherine Foster Bauman, 75, of Watseka, died Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Watseka. Rev. Frank Fisher will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Watseka.
Memorials may be made to the Watseka Library Building Fund; the First Presbyterian Church; or to Iroquois Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Bauman was a retired employee of Evanston Hospital.
She was born March 18, 1927, in Watseka, the daughter of William M. and Esther Bingham Coney.
Surviving are her husband, John Bauman, whom she married
Sept. 8, 1951, in Watseka; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Akemi Bauman of Tokyo, Japan, William and Joan Bauman of Chicago; two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Laurence Kornfield of San Francisco, Calif., Caroline and Steve Bauman of Yachats, Ore.; two sisters, Liz Parsons of Kenwood, Calif., Peg Mohar of Chesterton, Ind.; and one brother, William Bingham Coney of Watseka.
She was a 1945 graduate of Watseka Community High School and received a bachelor's degree in anthropology at Northwestern University.
Mrs. Bauman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Watseka and sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Kankakee Community Chorus and Prairie Singers in Watseka
She served as a trustee on the Watseka Library Board and as a volunteer at Iroquois Memorial Hospital for many years.
Mrs. Bauman resided in Evanston from 1960-94 and then retired to her hometown in Watseka.
She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Evanston.
