Ethel Fay Brown, 83, of Kankakee, formerly of Oakland, Ill., died Saturday (Jan. 25, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. services at the Taber Funeral Home, 221 E. Main St., Oakland. Bill Rush will officiate.
Burial will be in the Shields cemetery in Oakland.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Brown had been a waitress for many years.
She was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Indiana, the daughter of Sherman and Lottie Jones Kirkley.
Her former husbands, Ronald B. Ingrum, whom she married
Nov. 30, 1935, died Sept. 30, 1980 and Glen Brown, whom she married
Aug. 26, 1955, died April 26, 1999.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Lilly and Robert Mehrer and Barbara and James Jennings, all of Kankakee, Ruth and William Heimberger of Arizona/Kankakee; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; six stepchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, Paul, Louie and Henry Kirkley; one sister, Lucille Darling; one infant son; one grandson, Edward Mehrer; one granddaughter, Starlynne Rapier; and one great-granddaughter, Charlene Heimberger, are deceased.
Ms. Brown was a member of the Christian faith.
She enjoyed sewing and ceramics.
Dean Frederiksen
AURORA -- Dean A. Frederiksen, 65, of Aurora, formerly of Clifton, died Friday (Jan. 24, 2003) at Rush Copley Hospital after a short battle with cancer.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway in Montgomery, and from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the 10 a.m. service at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Aurora. Rev. Pat Geiseman will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverside cemetery in Montgomery.
Mr. Frederiksen was employed at Lucent Technologies for 35 years until his retirement in 1992.
He was born June 20, 1937 in Dwight, the son of George and Emma Jorgensen Frederiksen. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Marie A. Frederiksen of Aurora; two daughters and one son-in-law, Dawn and Thomas King, and Elizabeth Frederiksen, all of Aurora; two granddaughters; one sister and two brothers-in-law, Marilyn and George Juergens of Bradley, and David L. Rainbolt of Kankakee; his mother-in-law, Ruby Rainbolt of Aurora; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dick and Bobbi Angell.
One son, David Frederiksen; one sister, Elinor Bowman; a brother, Earl Frederiksen; and his father-in-law, David C. Rainbolt, are deceased.
Mr. Frederiksen grew up in the Clifton area and attended Central High School.
He was a sports fan of West Aurora High School and the University of Illinois.
He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, and dabbled in antiques.
Edmond Giroux
Edmond A. Giroux, 93, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of the Kankakee area, died Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) at the Forum at Pueblo Norte Health Center in Scottsdale.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Feb. 4 until the 11 a.m. celebration of the funeral Mass at St. George Catholic Church.
Burial will be in St. George Church cemetery.
Senesac Kankakee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include five sons, Gerald of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Daniel of Indian Wells, Calif., Terrence of Washington D.C. and Alan and Edmond Jr., both of Phoenix, Ariz.
Robert Hasbargen
Army veteran
CRESCENT CITY -- Robert E. Hasbargen, 71, of Crescent City, died Saturday (Jan. 25, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. services at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Crescent City. Rev. Harold Grafe will officiate.
Burial, with military graveside rites by the Watseka American Legion, will be in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery, Crescent City.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Crescent City; the Iroquois Memorial Hospice; or to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Hasbargen was employed at Uarco for 38 years as a C.P. Press Supervisor.
He was born Feb. 27, 1931, in Crescent Township, the son of Donald and Theraza Wollschlaeger Hasbargen.
Surviving are his wife, the former Betty Lange, whom he married
Dec. 12, 1954, in Crescent City; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Michael Hasbargen of Troy, Ohio, Doug "Whitey" and Linda Hasbargen of Watseka, Eric "Rick" and Marlita Hasbargen of Woodland, Brian and Julie Hasbargen of Watseka; and seven grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and a member of the Watseka American Legion.
Mr. Hasbargen was also a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Crescent City, where he served on the church council, finance committee and cemetery board.
He was a devoted Watseka Warrior and avid sports fan.
Harry Spurrier

Harry J. Spurrier, 63, of Bourbonnais, died Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Robert Demchuk will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery, Kankakee.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
Mr. Spurrier had been an insurance salesman for All State for 37 years.
He was born Dec. 11, 1939, in Joliet, the son of Harry B. and Elanore Hoffman Spurrier. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Cheryl Giertz, whom he married
Sept. 12, 1976, in Chebanse; two sons and one daughter-in-law, William and Martina Johnston and Sean Spurrier and special friend, Maryanne Vieira, all of Washington D.C.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Kevin Pierson of Chicago; and one grandchild.
He was a U.S. Marines Corps veteran.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard.
Mr. Spurrier was a volunteer fireman and paramedic in Bourbonnais and Aroma Park for 21 years; an Auxiliary Police Officer for Kankakee and Bourbonnais; and president of the football booster club at Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School for eight years.
He enjoyed acting.

Bill L. "Old Dude" Trusty, 68, of Kankakee, died Saturday (Jan. 25, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center, after a short illness.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in the Aroma Park cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
Mr. Trusty was retired from Armour Pharmaceutical and had worked at the Ford Stamping Plant in Chicago Heights.
He was born Aug. 20, 1934, in Thompsonville, the son of Ben and Gussie Marvel Trusty. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Delores "Dee" Schoenfelder, whom he married
May 27, 1984 at the Rivals Club in Ritchie, of Kankakee; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Todd Trusty of Bourbonnais, Terry and Theresa Trusty of Bradley; one daughter, Tammy Beaudoin of Bourbonnais; six grandchildren; and his uncle and aunt who raised him, Earl and Wanda Marvel of Benton.
One brother, Richard Trusty; and one grandson, Buck James Trusty, are deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Trusty was a member of the Kankakee Sportsman's Club.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, the Cubs and the Packers.
Arthur Harold Volling Jr.
JOLIET -- Arthur Harold Volling Jr., 77, of Joliet, formerly of Elwood, died Saturday (Jan. 25, 2003) at his home, after battling with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) for the last five years.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Blackburn-Geigrich-Sonntag Funeral Home on Black Road in Joliet, and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at Faith Bible Church on Briggs St. Rev. Jay Fernland will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Burial will be held at a later date in Elmhurst cemetery in Joliet.
Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation, Faith Bible Church or Gideons.
Mr. Volling retired in 1990 from the Stepan Co. after 34 1/2 years of service.
He was born June 25, 1925, in Mauston, Wis., the son of Arthur and Helen Bedell Volling.
He was a 1951 graduate of Mauston High School.
He married
the former Elizabeth "Betty" Fink Grewell in 1955.
He then married
the former Carolyn Beaudry Sahler in 1970. She died in 1988.
Surviving are his wife, the former Millie Hilgert Swanson, whom he married
in 1989; three daughters, Susan Johnson/Chaplin of Joliet, Pamela Campbell/Cape (Jeff) of Reed, Ky., Ann Eagleson/Hudek (Frank) of Lynnville, Ind.; one son, Stephen (Brenda) Volling of Bicknell, Ind.; seven stepchildren, Robin Sanders of Illinois, Carol (Glen) Sterret of Park Forest, Kim (Dr. Susan) Sahler of Hickory, N.C., Sharon Sluski/Loica of Channahon, Jim (Millie) Sperath of Scotts Valley, Calif., Lorraine (Frank) Garrone of Shorewood, Kenneth Swanson of Joliet; two brothers, Glenn (Joyce) Volling of Lockport, Arnold (Carol) Volling of Joliet; one sister, Linda (Larry) Kaminski/Ohlson of Union Grove, Wis.; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Volling lived in Elwood serving as a volunteer fireman, ambulance EMT and sat on the Village Board.
He moved to Joliet in 1969. He attended Bethel Baptist Church serving as board member, Adult Sunday School teacher and Boy Scout Master. He helped build the Joliet Christian Youth Center. He then helped start the Yorkville Baptist Church in Yorkville, serving on the church board. He then attended Faith Bible Church in Joliet and served on the church board, was assistant song leader, sang as soloist and in the church choir, and taught the adult Sunday school. He also preached and was song leader at Morning Star Mission in Joliet for three years as a Gideon outreach. He was a Gideon and active in TOPS organiztion.
Louise Wehrmann
BEECHER -- Louise Schultz Wehrmann, 89, of Beecher, died Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) at her home.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hack Funeral Home in Beecher.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beecher, where she was a member. Rev. Karl Wellnitz will officiate.
Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Park, Monee.
Mrs. Wehrmann worked for the U.S. Post Office as postmaster for many years in Beecher.
She was born Sept. 25, 1913, the daughter of Richard and Louise Griese Schroeder.
Her husbands, Walter Schultz and Harry Wehrmann, are deceased.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Ernette Schultz of Oconomowoc, Wis., Donald and LaDonna Schultz of Beecher; one sister, Betty Braun of Crete; seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Clara Reed and Martha Suter, are deceased.
