WATSEKA -- Lester W. Foreman, 83, of Watseka, died Monday (Jan. 20, 2003) at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Tom Novy will officiate.
Burial will be in Prairie Dell cemetery in Iroquois.
Memorials may be made to the Pittwood Christian Church or to the Iroquois Resident Home Rebuild Fund for a new therapy room.
Mr. Foreman had farmed for 70 years.
He was born Oct. 3, 1919, the son of Levant W. and Alma Weimann Foreman.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lucille E. Flessner, whom he married
Sept. 29, 1945, in Sheldon, of Watseka; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Denny and Debby Foreman of Watseka, Terry Foreman of California; one daughter, Kathy Foreman and her fiance, Michael Caplas of Park Ridge; one sister, Evelyn Peter of Watseka; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
One sister, Eleanor Cary, is deceased.
Mrs. Foreman was a member of the Pittwood Christian Church.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising Hereford cattle.
Margaret Goodwin

DWIGHT -- Margaret F. Goodwin, 90, of Heritage Manor, Dwight, died Sunday (Jan. 19, 2003).
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. services at the Hager Memorial Home in Dwight. Rev. Steve Lauricella will officiate.
A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Plainview cemetery, Colfax, Ind.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Women or Comforters Inc. (quilts).
Mrs. Goodwin was a retired secretary at Purdue University.
She was born Jan. 11, 1913, in Stockwell, Ind., the daughter of Floyd and Bessie Lee Skinner.
Her husband, John LaVerne Goodwin, whom she married
June 23, 1930, in Stockwell, Ind., is deceased.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Margaret Goodwin of Dwight; three grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren; and seven step-great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
One son, one brother and one sister, are deceased.
She was affiliated with the Methodist Church in Stockland, Ind.
Mrs. Goodwin was a member of the Dwight Senior Citizens and the Women of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, crafts and making quilts.
Tony Loica
LIMESTONE TOWNSHIP -- Tony J. Loica, 83, of Limestone Township, died Monday (Jan. 20, 2003) at his home.
There will be no visitation.
Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, Kankakee, is in charge of the private services.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
He was born June 13, 1919, in Limestone Township, the son of Dominic and Maria Panozzo Loica.
Mr. Loica was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe and Asia.
He belonged to carpenters' Local 496. He was a former member of the Kankakee American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Stanley, whom he married
Jan. 31, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo.; one son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Joanne Loica of Limestone Township; three granddaughters, Laura Loica and her husband, Griffin Kisner of Dwight, Janet Loica of Winfield and Lana Loica of Steger; one great-grandson, Lucas Loica Kisner; brothers, Joseph and Dominic of Kankakee, Louis of Perry, Iowa; sister, Ethel Mosk of Oswego; 11 nieces and five nephews.
One brother, Frank and six sisters, Victoria, Pauline, Mary, Suzie, Josephine, and Eleanor preceded him in death.
He was a Cubs fan and loved word puzzles and going to "Blue's Cafe."
Jeannette F. Mund
PONTIAC -- Jeannette F. Mund, 97, of Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac, where she had lived for 19 years, and the mother of a Gardner resident, died Monday (Jan. 20, 2003) at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac.
There will be no visitation.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Pontiac. Rev. Bill Beswick will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded with inurnment at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Evenglow Lodge Endowment Fund.
Duffy Funeral Home in Pontiac is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mund taught rural schools around Odell, Saunemin and Fairbury for many years. She retired in 1968 after teaching kindergarten for Pontiac schools for 14 years.
She was born June 22, 1905, in Odell, the daughter of John Henry and Elizabeth Peeling Schultz.
Her husband, Rudolph E. Mund, whom she married
May 13, 1931, in Akron, Ohio, died Oct. 29, 1973.
Surviving are one son, Charles Mund of Gardner; and many nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
She attended the University of Illinois and Illinois State University, where she received a bachelor's and master's degrees in elementary education.
Mrs. Mund was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pontiac and the Woman's Association and Morning Circle with the church.
She was also a 50-year member and past matron of the Eastern Star 310, a member of the Athenia Literary Club, the Evenglow Lodge Guild, the Livingston County Red Cross Board and the Pontiac Women's Club.
She played bridge with many clubs.
Ollie Lovelass
WATSEKA -- A funeral Mass for Ollie W. Lovelass, 86, of Watseka, was celebrated Jan. 20 at St. Edmund's Catholic Church in Watseka. Rev. Lee Ryan officiated.
Mr. Lovelass died Jan. 17, 2003.
Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery, Watseka. Pallbearers were Jeff Claire, Cary Gagnon, Chris Butler, Shawn Carlson, Terry Holliman and Kent Schippert.
Lester Schroeder
GILMAN -- Services for Lester E. Schroeder, 86, of Gilman, were held Jan. 18 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gilman. Rev. Robert Downs officiated.
Mr. Schroeder died Jan. 16, 2003.
Burial was in the Danforth cemetery. Pallbearers were his grandsons.
Doug Rohrbach

ONARGA -- Visitation for Doug Rohrbach, 47, of Onarga, will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. Charles Shelquist will officiate.
Burial will be in the Onarga cemetery.
Memorials may be made for his children's education.
He died Sunday (Jan. 19, 2003) at his home.
Mr. Rohrbach had been a farmer for 25 years in Onarga. He was the Iroquois County Fair 4-H beef superintendent, and also served as activities director for the Illinois Junior Chianina Association.
He was born March 19, 1955, in Watseka, the son of Glenn and Virginia Zirkle Rohrbach.
Surviving are his wife, the former Teresa Menard, whom he married
Aug. 12, 1978, in Kankakee, of Onarga; two sons, Matt Rohrbach and Adam Rohrbach, both of Onarga; his parents of Onarga; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jeff Meyer of Onarga; and three nephews.
Mr. Rohrbach was a member of the Onarga United Methodist Church, the American Angus Association and the American Chianina Association.
He enjoyed working with cattle and going to cattle shows.
Corrine Schaaff
Visitation for Corrine M. Schaaff, 71, of Kankakee, will be from 9-10:45 a.m. Thursday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kankakee, where she was a member.
Burial will be in Maternity BVM cemetery in Bourbonnais.
She died Saturday (Jan. 18, 2003) at her home.
Mrs. Schaaff was a retired statistical typist.
She was born March 15, 1931, in Midlothian, the daughter of Benjamin and Marie Simpkins DeWitt.
Her husband, Donald R. Schaaff, whom she married
Oct. 10, 1953, in Chicago, is deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Schaaff of Sycamore, Dale Schaaff of Bourbonnais; her mother of California; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Richard DeWitt and Robert and Fern DeWitt, all of California; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Dr. Doris Schaaff of Oak Brook, Julius and Pearl Schaaff of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles and sewing.
Elizabeth Banaszak
PEOTONE -- Elizabeth "Busia" Banaszak, 87, of Peotone, formerly of Harvey and Markham, died Saturday (Jan. 18, 2003) at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone, where she was a member.
Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Park in Monee. Pallbearers were Frank Toczek, Ryan Van Ham, David Banaszak, Dennis Watkins, Doug Podgorny and Jeffrey Travis.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
She was born Aug. 12, 1915, in Chicago, the daughter of Louie and Caroline Sienko.
Her husband, Alex Banaszak, whom she married
May 1, 1937, in Harvey, is deceased.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Marlene Banaszak of Summerfield, Fla.; one daughter, Bernadine Travis of Peotone; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Rose Cebula, Angie Sienko and Adeline Sienko.
Two daughters, Barbara Toczek and Carol Salazer; two grandchildren, Karen Buback and Frankie Toczek; one son-in-law, Clyde Travis; and four brothers, Harry, Edward, Fred and Steve, are deceased.
Mrs. Banaszak was a member of the Polish Women's Alliance of America.
