Beverly Beaudoin
Beverly S. Beaudoin, 79, of Kankakee, died Tuesday (Jan. 14, 2003) at Miller Center in Kankakee.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Revs. Don Long and Herb Thompson will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church.
Kankakee Chapel, Schreffler Funeral Homes, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Beaudoin was a retired secretary at Riverside Medical Center.
She was born May 19, 1923, in Champaign, the daughter of George and Elsie Handore Strauss.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Beaudoin, whom she married
July 2, 1949, in East Moline, of Kankakee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Rev. William Allshouse of Thorton, Colo., Janet and Dr. Diem Nguyen of Williamsburg, Va.; one sister and brother-in-law, Elinor and John Zopf of Kankakee; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, George and Andrew Strauss, are deceased.
She was a 1941 graduate of Kankakee High School.
Mrs. Beaudoin was a member of the Dorothy Miner Circle of her church. She served as chairman of the March of Dimes and was involved with Girl Scouts, the Red Cross Blood Drive, Asbury Thrift Shop and Meals on Wheels.
Bernard Devine

Bernard Devine, 76, of New Lenox, formerly of Kankakee, died Monday (Jan. 13, 2003).
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, where he was a member.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Sts. Mary and Joseph cemetery in Chebanse.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Building Fund.
Mr. Devine was a former Illinois Bell and Ameritech employee for 38 years.
He was born Sept. 19, 1926 in Kankakee.
Surviving are his wife, the former Rita Riberdy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick "Andy" and Nancy Devine of Oak Forest, Timothy "Andy" and Beth Devine of Waterloo, Iowa; one sister, Mary Dixon of Homewood; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Devine was a World War II veteran.
Dorothy Dominiak
Dorothy B. Carlson Dominiak, 84, formerly of Kankakee, died Monday (Dec. 13, 2002) in Torrance Memorial Hospital, after a stroke.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 6 at American Martyers Catholic Church in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Private burial was held in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, Calif.
She was born in Kankakee.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Laurence and Bonnie Dominiak of Hornbrook, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Tom Leach, Lynn and Patrick Beckley, all of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Saville of Indianapolis, Ind.
She lived in Kankakee until 1953.
Clara Feller
WATSEKA -- Clara Bell Forrest Nasers Feller, 88, of Watseka, died Tuesday (Jan. 14, 2003) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
Burial will be in Iroquois Memorial Park, Watseka.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Watseka, the American Heart Association or to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Feller had worked in the office at Nimz Transportation and T&D; Metals.
She was born July 29, 1914, in Watseka, the daughter of Max and Hansine Outsen Forrest.
Her husbands, Ray Nasers and Joel Feller, are deceased.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Ronna Nasers of Watseka; one daughter, Judith Wason of Buffalo Grove; one sister, Lillian Nimz of Watseka; two grandchildren, Joel Lee and Michael Scott; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
One brother is deceased.
Mrs. Feller was a member of the United Methodist Church of Watseka, the United Methodist Women's Club, the Senior Club and TOPS.
She enjoyed gardening and loved animals.
Harold Gourley

THAWVILLE -- Harold Lee Gourley, 76, of Hoffman Estates, formerly of Thawville, died Sunday (Jan. 12, 2003) at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home in Piper City.
Graveside services, with military rites by the Gibb Post 588 of the American Legion, Piper City, will be held at 2:15 p.m. Friday at Brenton cemetery in Piper City.

Mr. Gourley was executive vice president for Lumbermens Credit Association in Chicago. He was a certified public accountant.
He was born May 10, 1926, in Thawville, the son of Rolland and Mary Walther Gourley.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dolores Anderson, whom he married
July 25, 1948; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lynn Gourley of Schaumburg; two grandchildren, Sandra Gourley and Brad Gourley; and two great-grandchildren.
One brother, William L. Gourley, is deceased.
He was a graduate of Thawville High School and the University of Illinois in Champaign.
Mr. Gourley had lived in Hoffman Estates since the late 1950's.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II in the European Theater, and was a member of the VFW.
He was also a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Palatine, where he had been a trustee.
Thomas Johnston

Visitation for Thomas Johnston, 53, of Kankakee, will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. Andy Hansen will officiate.
Burial will be in the Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
He died Monday (Jan. 13, 2003) at his home.
Mr. Johnston was an employee of Peotone School District at Wilton Center.
He was born Feb. 25, 1949, in Kankakee, the son of Vaughn and Dorothy Anderson Johnston. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are one son, Thomas Johnston Jr. of Oregon; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Donna and Larry Kane of Alvarado, Texas, Beverly and Wayne Studer and Mary Understahl, all of Bradley; one brother, Edward Johnston of Kankakee; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
One brother, Norman "Mike" Johnston, is deceased.
He was a graduate of Eastridge High School.
Mr. Johnston was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of Open Bible Church.
He enjoyed fishing and hiking.
Ethel Peters

CHEBANSE -- Ethel L. Peters, 96, of Chebanse, died Tuesday (Jan. 14, 2003) at Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home in Clifton, after a short illness.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Rev. Kene Whybrew will officiate.
Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Chebanse.
Memorials may be made to the Otto Township Fire Department, the American Parkinsons Disease Association or to the Merkle-Knipprath Home.
Mrs. Peters was a teacher.
She was born July 2, 1906, in Cullom, the daughter of George and Margaret Jehle Corbin.
Her husband, Louis W. Peters, whom she married
Jan. 12, 1927, in Chebanse, died Aug. 25, 1965.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley P. and Nadya Peters of Bonfield, Dean M. and Paula Peters of Grant Park; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
One sister is deceased.
Mrs. Peters was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse, where she volunteered for many church and civic events in and around the Chebanse area.
Rickey Ward
Services for Rickey L. Ward, 39, of Bradley, were held Jan. 4 at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel. Rev. Edward Heck officiated.
Mr. Ward died Dec. 30, 2002.
Burial was in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Brandon Wilson, Joe Hilsenhoff, Jeff Curl, Steve Ward, Joe Creekmore and Randy Moore.
Robert Ruyle

Robert F. "Bob" Ruyle, 65, of Bourbonnais, died Tuesday (Jan. 14, 2003) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, and from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. services at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bradley. Rev. Jay DeMent will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mr. Ruyle retired from the Ford Motor Company in Chicago Heights after 31 years of service.
He was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Kankakee, the son of Joseph and Pauline Stearns Ruyle. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ada Franklin Allie, whom he married
May 23, 1980, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bradley; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Roberta Ruyle of Manteno; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Rhonda Bouchard of Limestone Township, Paula Ruyle of Lebanon, Pam and Jeff Marcotte of Manteno, Julie Allie-Zane and Tim Zane of Batavia; one brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Jan Ruyle of Sandoval; and eight grandchildren.
One sister, Hilda Oliver, is deceased.
Mr. Ruyle was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the United Auto Works.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and the St. Louis Cardinals.
