Marian Nykaza
LODA -- Marian L. Nykaza, 85, of South Chicago Heights, formerly of Loda, died Tuesday (Jan. 14, 2003) at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Beecher Fellowship Baptist Church, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Ed D'Andrea will officiate.
Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Park, Monee.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the Parkinson's Foundation, the American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by the Fred C. Hub Memorial Chapel in Chicago Heights.
She was born April 26, 1917, in Loda, the daughter of William and Christine Dale Rasmus.
Her husband, Adam Nykaza, died in 1969.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Douglas and Joyce Nykaza of Steger, Gary Nykaza of South Chicago Heights; two daughters and one son-in-law, Judith and Eugene Ooms of Wapella, Joanne Williams of Chalmette, La.; one brother, Donald Rasmus of Loda; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Twelve sisters and brothers are deceased.
She was affiliated with the Beecher Fellowship Baptist Church.
Lenual Suddarth

Visitation for Lenual Suddarth, 83, of English, Ind., formerly of Bourbonnais, will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. Larry Schreffler will officiate.
Burial will be in All Saints cemetery in Bourbonnais.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
He died Tuesday (Jan. 14, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Mr. Suddarth had worked at General Foods for 24 years as a grain operator in water treatment. He was also a janitor for the last few years.
He was born May 1, 1919, in Taswell, Ind., the son of William and Nancy Ann Hollen Suddarth.
Surviving are his wife, the former Alberta Satterfield, whom he married
in September 1946, of Bourbonnais; one daughter, Linda Brosseau of Bourbonnais; one granddaughter, Gina Shannon; and one great-grandson, Tyler Shannon.
One brother, Manuel Suddarth; and two sisters, Ruth Thomas and Jewell Zambello, are deceased.
Mr. Suddarth was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.
He loved working on cars, gardening, farming and reminiscing about old times.
Bert Anderson

FAIRFIELD -- Bert L. Anderson, 93, of Fairfield, and the father of area residents, died Thursday (Jan. 9, 2003) at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services were held Jan. 12 at Ward cemetery in Verona. Pallbearers were Steve and Ron Anderson, Eric and Jeff Kodat, Tim Anderson, Junior Wren, Marty Burgess and Kirk Thorson.
Mr. Anderson was a farmer and grade school custodian.
He was born March 24, 1909, in Kinsman, the son of Edward C. and Bertha Larson Anderson.
His wife, the former Mabel Stull, whom he married
Dec. 10, 1937, died Sept. 30, 2002.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Janet Anderson of Mt. Erie, Paul and Linda Anderson of Verona; three daughters and one son-in-law, Peggy and Tom Kodat of Coal City, Mary Ann Kunkel of Braidwood, Sandy Peterson of Mazon; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Donald and Gladys Hilliard of Columbus, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Delores Schieve of Brandon, Miss., Betty Cook of California, Shirley Burgess of Cisne; 40 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Ret. Chief Master Sgt. Edward Carl Anderson; one daughter, Carol Marshall; four brothers and one sister, are deceased.
Alicia Benjamin
Visitation for Alicia Ann Benjamin, 75, of Kankakee, will be from 1:30 p.m. Saturday until the 3:30 p.m. services by the Kankakeee VFW Auxiliary at the Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to the Kankakee VFW Auxiliary, the Humane Society or to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Benjamin died Wednesday (Jan. 15, 2003) at her home.
She was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Melvin, the daughter of Paul E. and Holda Busing Howe. Her parents are deceased.
Her first husband, Robert Dorn, whom she married
Feb. 22, 1949, died in 1957.
She then married
Robert C. Benjamin April 13, 1968. He died July 17, 1990.
Surviving are two stepdaughters, Sandra Bourrell of Walnut Creek, Calif., Jacquelyn Kilpatrick of Bonfield; one sister, Shirley Kovack of Osprey, Fla.; two nieces, Sharon and Merv Barnard, Debby and Dewey Cox; two nephews, Mac and Diana Lyles, Randall and Heidi Lyles; two grand-nieces, Amanda Kaiser and Chandra Lyles; and two grand-nephews, Eric Barnard and Jason Cox.
One stepson, Gary Benjamin, is deceased.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Kankakee VFW Auxiliary.
Tessie Clark
Tessie Clark, 104, of Bradley, formerly of Kankakee, died Thursday (Jan. 16, 2003) at Bradley Royale Health Care Center.
Visitation and services will be held Wednesday morning at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Kankakee.
Senesac Kankakee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one sister, Doris Mayotte of Largo, Fla.
Carl DeRosier
Carl "Artie" DeRosier, 50, died Thursday (Jan. 16, 2003) at his daughter's home in Hudson, Fla., after a nine month illness.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hernando/Pasco County in Florida.
Mr. DeRosier was formerly employed by Birmingham Steel and Lincolnland Limo.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marcia McElroy, whom he married
June 20, 1975; three daughters, Jennifer DeRosier of Florida, Danielle DeRosier of Texas, Kristin DeRosier of Bradley; and two grandchildren, Cierra and Colby DeRosier.
He enjoyed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Norine Gollick
SHOREWOOD -- Norine A. Gollick, 78, of Shorewood, and the mother of a Coal City resident, died Sunday (Jan. 12, 2003) at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
A memorial service was held Jan. 14 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home Chapel in Joliet. Rev. Rodney A. Juell officiated.

She was born in Joliet, the daughter of Edwin and Martha Evans.
Her husband of 50 years, Andrew G. Gollick, died in 2001.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Nancy Vanderhoof of Plainfield, Richard and Barb Vanderhoof of Coal City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Brian Fullington of Plainfield, Kim and Dan Anderson of Shorewood; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lorraine Brozman of Rockdale, Betty and Armell Landrey of California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Gollick was a former member of the Troy Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Ladies of the Lions and the Troy School PTO.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and especially making candy at Christmas.

CRESCENT CITY -- Gertrude H. Leiding, 93, of Crescent City, died today (Jan. 17, 2003) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, and from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. services at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Crescent City.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery in Crescent City.
Ollie Lovelass
WATSEKA -- Ollie W. Lovelass, 86, of Watseka, died today (Jan. 17, 2003) at his home.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Edmund's Catholic Church in Watseka.
Beatrice Mason
BULLHEAD, Ariz. -- Beatrice Mason, 84, of Bullhead, Ariz., formerly of Ashkum, died Wednesday (Jan. 15, 2003).
Cremation rites will be accorded in Arizona.
Mrs. Mason was a former bookkeeper at Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago. After moving to Arizona she worked for Del Webb Enterprises in Nevada.
She was born Sept. 9, 1918 in Nye, Wis.
Her husband, Edward Mason, whom she married
May 24, 1939, in Wisconsin, died April 6, 1987. Mrs. Mason and her husband lived in Ashkum in the 1940's, later moving to Chicago and then retiring to Arizona.
Surviving are one son, Gary of California; two daughters, Judy of Arkansas, Gail of Nevada; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Gustafason of Chicago; two brothers-in-law, Roscoe Mason of Gilman and Russell Mason of Kankakee; and one sister-in-law, Lenora Prater of Watseka.
