Jimmie Springer
Visitation for Jimmie "Manny" Springer Jr., 85, of Kankakee, will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Jones Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Ronald Bartlett will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Mr. Springer died Sunday (May 5, 2002) at his home after a long illness.
He was born April 15, 1917, in Columbus, Miss., the son of Jimmie and Ozella Billups Springer.
His wife, the former Cora Lizzie Jones, whom he married
in June 1936, in Columbus, Miss., is deceased.
Surviving are five sons and two daughters-in-law, Willie Springer, Harry and Deborah Springer, Jerry and Jeanette Springer, Carl Springer, all of Kankakee, Curtis Springer of Memphis, Tenn.; four daughters and one son-in-law, Mildred Springer, Evelyn and Xavier Washington, Sandra Kay Springer and Alisa Springer, all of Kankakee; two sisters, Martha Wrench and Magnolia Perkins, both of Columbus, Miss.; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, George and Sallie Springer, Tony and Deborah Springer, all of Columbus, Miss., Annie Mae Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio; 28 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; and one aunt, Martha Jennings of Columbus, Miss.
One son; two grandsons; two brothers; and one sister, are deceased.
Mr. Springer was retired from the Kankakee Foundry.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

CRESCENT CITY -- Joan E. Freeman, 67, of Crescent City, died Wednesday (May 8, 2002) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

MANTENO -- John Frailey, 74, of Manteno, died today (May 9, 2002) at his home after a long illness.

Lillian Cerutti
BRACEVILLE -- Visitation for Lillian J. Cerutti, 91, formerly of Braceville, and a resident of St. Petersburg, Fla. since 1977, will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, Braidwood. Rev. Steve Bondi will officiate.
Burial will be in the Braceville-Gardner cemetery, Braceville.

Mrs. Cerutti died Sunday (May 5, 2002) at the Palms of Pasadena Hospital, St. Petersburg.
She was born June 12, 1910, in Braceville, the daughter of George and Ann Moffatt Spiers.
Her husband, William Cerutti, whom she married
Aug. 25, 1934, in Yorkville, is deceased.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Patsy Mae Cerutti of St. Petersburg, Fla., Nancy and Chester Skowronski of Braidwood; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and Fred Kociss of Coal City; and nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, George and Thomas Spiers; and two sisters, Nora Bourgo and Mae Manuel, are deceased.
She graduated from Joliet Township High School and was a 1932 graduate of Loyola School of Nursing in Chicago.
Mrs. Cerutti was a registered nurse. She was employed at Fox Center in Dwight for several years, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of St. John's Vinnery in St. Petersburg Beach, Fla. and a former member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City.
She was a charter member of the Grundy Co. Home Bureau and the Coal City Senior Citizens.
She had been active in the Grundy Co. Red Cross during World War II.
She enjoyed bingo and bowling.
Ronald Platz
CULLOM -- Ronald Platz, 47, of Cullom, died Wednesday (May 8, 2002) in the emergency room of OSF Saint James Hospital, Pontiac, after a sudden illness.
Visitation is tentatively set for Friday with services on Saturday.
Arrangements are by Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Cullom.

ST. ANNE -- Rosetta Landry, 60, of St. Anne, died Wednesday (May 8, 2002) at her home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church, Bourbonnais, where she was a member.
Burial will be in St. Anne cemetery.
She was born June 23, 1941, in Pineville, Ky., the daughter of Simon and Amelia Shorter Williams. Her father is deceased.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Elizabeth Landry of Manteno; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara Anne Savoie of St. Anne, Maude and Marty Liga of Kankakee, Patty and Kevin Mericle of St. Anne; her mother, Amelia Williams of St. Anne; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty and Frank Owens of St. Anne, Brenda and Moreno Varela of Kankakee, Joan Hines of St. Anne; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Franklin Ed and Susan Williams of St. Anne, Luther and Delores Oliver of Bradley; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Ms. Landry had worked at Kraft Foods; worked with the mentally disabled; was secretary at her church for 10 years and also worked in day care.
She enjoyed reading and working with kids.

Ruby Helen Hawkins Blissard, 75, of Bourbonnais, died Wednesday (May 8, 2002) at Vencor Hospital, Chicago.

Albert Fitzgerrel

EMPORIA, Kan. -- Albert Harry Fitzgerrell, 86, of Emporia, Kan., and brother of a Kankakee resident, died Wednesday (May 29, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Charter Funerals, Emporia Chapel, 501 W. Sixth Ave., Emporia, Kansas.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene, Emporia, Kan.
Burial will be in Maplewood Memorial Lawn cemetery in Emporia.
Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene in Emporia, Kan.
Mr. Fitzgerrel was born Aug. 17, 1915 in Decatur, the son of Albert L. and Elsie Walters Fitzgerrel.
His wife, the former Lois McCoy, died Sept. 23, 2000.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald E. Fitzgerrell of Emporia, Kan., Geoff L. Fitzgerrel of Guffey, Colo., Larry D. Fitzgerrell of Topeka, Kan.; one brother, Frank Marshall of Kankakee; and one sister, Helen Kenny of Sullivan.
One brother, Ralph Fitzgerrell, is deceased.
Mr. Fitzgerrell was head of the Music Education Department at Emporia State University for about 20 years, retiring in the early 1980s. He was also the Director of Music at Bethany Nazarene College for five years, assistant Band Director at Oklahoma University, Normal, Okla., for two years, and Band Director at Ardmore, Okla. for 10 years before coming to the Emporia area in 1964.
He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Emporia, Kan.
Alma Eckhoff
MOMENCE -- Alma Eckhoff, 95, of Momence, died Friday (May 31, 2002) at Momence Meadows Nursing Center.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Cotter Funeral Home in Momence, where services will be at 1 p.m. Monday. Rev. Keith GeRue will officiate.
Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church cemetery in Sollitt.
Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Momence.
Mrs. Eckhoff was born June 1, 1906 in Momence, the daughter of John and Louisa Meyer Clausing.
Her husband, Walter Eckhoff, whom she married
April 11, 1926 in Sollitt, died Jan. 4, 1988.
Surviving are one son, Warren G. Eckhoff of Lowell, Ind.; one daughter, Garneta Eckhoff of Momence; and one granddaughter, Pamela Eckhoff of Lowell, Ind.
One brother; one sister; and one daughter-in-law, Lora Eckhoff, are deceased.
Mrs. Eckhoff was a retired cook for the Momence School District.
She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Momence.
Barbara Householder
MORRIS -- Visitation for Barbara Householder, 90, of Morris, formerly of Dwight, will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight, and from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the 10:30 a.m. service at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dwight. Rev. Daniel Ognoskie will officiate.
Burial will be in Goodfarm cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Barbara Householder Memorial Fund.
Mrs. Householder died Friday (May 31, 2002) at Walnut Grove Retirement Home.
She was born Oct. 13, 1911 in Dwight, the daughter of Fred and Ada Drechsel Zabel.
Her husband, Willard Donald Householder, whom she married
Jan. 1, 1935 in rural Dwight, died Feb. 29, 2000.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Karl Deterding of Durango, Colo.; one son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Merilyn Householder of Issaquah, Wash.; one sister, Esther Harford of Mazon; two brothers, Walter Zabel, and Fred Zabel, both of Dwight; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Householder was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dwight.
Carol Casino
RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Carl J. Casino, 84, of Riverside, Calif., formerly of Kankakee, died Thursday (May 30, 2002) in Riverside.
Survivors include four children including William and Donna Casino of Kankakee, and Rob and Sharon Casino of Bourbonnais; and one brother, John and Lucy Casino of Bradley.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bradley.
