ST. ANNE -- Visitation for Laverne L. Anderson, 83, of St. Anne, will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. services at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home in St. Anne. Rev. Don Long will officiate.
Burial will be in Skyline Memorial cemetery, Monee.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
He died Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2003) at his home.
Mr. Anderson was a railroad foreman for Con-Rail Railroad, retiring after 43 years of service. He had also worked five years at the Beaver Creek Hunting Club and was the owner of Anderson Lawn Service for 15 years.
He was born June 26, 1919, in Reddick, the son of Fred and Anna Peterson Anderson.
Surviving are his wife, the former Eldora Christopher, whom he married
Sept. 17, 1979, in Kankakee, of St. Anne; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dorothy Pinkus of Momence, Diane and Glenn Little of Kankakee, Bonnie and Vince Koeing of Arcadia, Fla.; stepchildren, Vaughn and Beth Whitesell of Greensboro, Neb., Nancy and Bill Barrett of Pittwood, Karen and Dennis Fleischman of Villa Ridge, Mo., Mark and Sheila Whitesell of Union, Mo.; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Marjorie Anderson of Auburn, Ind.
Three brothers and one sister are deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Kankakee.
He enjoyed bowling.
Lyda Crocker
ROCHESTER, Ind. -- Lyda E. Crocker, 90, of Rochester, Ind., formerly of Manteno, died Wednesday (Jan. 8, 2003) in Rochester, Ind.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the 2 p.m. service at Brown Funeral Home of Manteno.
Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Manteno.
Memorials may be made to Peotone United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Crocker was born Sept. 17, 1912 in Glasford, the daughter of Lewis E. and Margaret Farmer Scarcliff.
Surviving are her husband, Ferris S. Crocker, whom she married
June 21, 1941 in Peotone, of Indiana; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Cary Stump of Rochester, Ind.; one daughter-in-law, Susan Crocker of Grant Park; one granddaughter, Christine Crocker Hamann (Josh) of Grant Park; one grandson, James F. Crocker II of Grant Park; three sisters-in-law, Mary Helen Raper of Peoria, Ariz., Evelyn Crocker of Peotone, Donna Jean Bedore of Thornton; three stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and 24 nieces and nephews.
One son, James Crocker; two sisters, Verna Baker and Gayle Stadfeld; and one brother, Roy Scarcliff, are deceased.
Mrs. Crocker was a homemaker.
She was former president of the Manteno Senior Citizens Society, a member of Kankakee County Senior Citizens, Manteno HEA and Kankakee County HEA, a 4-H leader for the Manteno BestEver 4-H Club for 10 years, and always collected cancer funds and heart funds.
She was a member of Peotone United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and bell choir, served on numerous church committees, and was past president of the Ladies Aid Society.
Roland Curry
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Roland Harold Curry, 80, of Santa Barbara, Calif., and the brother of a Momence resident, died Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2003).
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at Shephard of the Valley Lutheran Church, Santa Ynez, Calif. Rev. Lowell B. Kindschy will officiate.
Arrangements are by Loper Funeral Chapel, Solvang, Calif.
Mr. Curry was a retired electrical engineer.
He was born Dec. 16, 1922, in Whiteside County, Ill., the son of Robert and Cathryn Curry.
Surviving are his wife, Susan R. Curry of Santa Barbara, Calif.; one son, Steven Curry of St. Paul, Minn.; one daughter, Julie Romine of Arkansas; two stepsons, Paul Greven of Pomona, Calif., Grant Greven of Auburn, Calif.; one brother, Robert J. Curry of Momence; two sisters, Margaret E. Nafziger and Donna V. Perkins, both of Albany; and seven grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Erie Community High School.
Mr. Curry was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks and the Masons.
Harold Denoyer

Visitation for Harold E. "Buck" Denoyer, 71, of Bourbonnais, will be from noon Saturday until the 1 p.m. services at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Bourbonnais. Rev. John Antczak will officiate.
Inurnment will be held at noon Monday in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
He died Saturday (Jan. 4, 2003) at his home.
Mr. Denoyer had worked at Bradley Roper for 28 years and had worked for National Beef Packing. He was also a skilled carpenter.
He was born Nov. 16, 1931, in St. Anne, the son of Eddie Denoyer and Elsie Nourie. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Anthony and Stephanie Denoyer of Colorado, Joseph and Donna Denoyer of Liberal, Kan., Jeff and Monica Denoyer of Watseka, Robert and Misty Denoyer of Austin, Texas, Tim Denoyer of Champaign, Russell and Barbie Denoyer and Joshua and Amy Denoyer, all of Watseka; one daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Alec Anderson of Rantoul; very special sweetheart and companion, Connie Fier of Bourbonnais and her daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Ron Tarlini and her son, John Fier and their children; two sisters, Eleanor Casper of Bradley, Odell Clemens of Knoxville, Tenn.; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Sherman and Eleanor Denoyer of Kankakee, Raymond and Vivian Denoyer of St. Anne, Albert Denoyer of Blue Island, Lawrence and Jan Denoyer of Bradley; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend, Gerald Ponton.
One brother, Ralph Denoyer; one sister, Isabelle Elsey; and one grandson, Shane Denoyer, are deceased.
Mr. Denoyer served in the Army 40th Division in Korea from Oct. 1950-Oct. 1953.
He was a member of Maternity BVM Catholic Church, Bourbonnais.
He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and dancing.
Daniel Drobek
WILMINGTON -- Daniel D. Drobek, 77, of Wilmington, died Monday (Jan. 6, 2003) at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. services at the Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington. Rev. Frank Vitus will officiate.
Burial, with military rites, will be in the Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.
Mr. Drobek was a retired plumber/pipe fitter of Union Local 130.
His first wife, Mary, is deceased.
Surviving are his wife, Edith; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Joretta Drobek of Ft. Wayne, Ind., David and Debbie Drobek of Springhill, Tenn.; one daughter, Capt. Daine Drobek of the U.S. Air Force at North Pole, Alaska; one stepson, Frederick (Mary Jo) Eibler of Chicago; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one sister and brother-in-law, Helene and David Delvin of Braidwood.
Mr. Drobek was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.
Raymond Duchene
Raymond J. Duchene Sr., 84, of Bourbonnais, died today (Jan. 9, 2003) at his home.
Visitation will be Sunday at the Senesac Kankakee Funeral Home.
Services will be held Monday morning at Maternity BVM Catholic Church.
Yvonne Hayes
Visitation for Yvonne Marie Hayes, 55, of Kankakee, will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 10 a.m. services at Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Alex T. Bond Jr. and J.C. Smith will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.

Mrs. Hayes was a mental health technician at Shapiro Developmental Center and a cook at Brandon House for many years. She was president of the Kankakee County Housing Authority Tenant Organization. She was also youth coordinator for the Housing Authority.
She was born Sept. 15, 1947, in Kankakee, the daughter of Eugene Sharp and Margaret Finley Lewis. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Luther Hayes, whom she married
in 1977 in Kankakee, of Mt. Vernon; one son, Daquane Finley of Peoria; one daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Bobby Strickland of South Holland; four sisters, Barbara Williams, Kathy White and Brenda White, all of Kankakee, Patricia White of Lansing; two brothers, Tyrone (Sherly) Finley of Minnesota, Gerald (Butchie) Womack of Kankakee; half-sister, Willette Sharpe of Jacksonville, Ala.; one grandchild; one godson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a member of Mt. Calvery Missionary Baptist Church.

BRACEVILLE -- Ira Leroy Kibler, 76, of Braceville, died Wednesday (Jan. 8, 2003) at Morris Hospital.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday until the 3 p.m. memorial services at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel.
Memorials in his name may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy of Will County.
Mr. Kibler had been employed at the Whitmore Ace Hardware in Wilmington for the past 18 years. He was formerly employed at Celotex in Wilmington, retiring after 28 years of service.
He was born Jan. 28, 1926, the son of Paul and Donie Howell Kibler.
Surviving are his wife, the former Arlene Gutzman, whom he married
May 15, 1954, in Morris; one son, Richard Kibler of Braceville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Steve McCawley of Coal City, Bev and Scott Romanetto of South Wilmington; four grandchildren, Steven, Alex and Madison McCawley and Madeline Romanetto; one brother, Walter Mears of Chicago; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Vicki and Guenter Gruber of Colorado, Imodell Price of Missouri, Rosaliee and Bob Pierce of Arkansas; and nieces and nephews.
An infant daughter, Christine; and one brother, Donald Kibler, are deceased.
He enjoyed working at Whitmore's, repairing bicycles, fishing and playing the slots at the Empress. He also enjoyed visiting with the many friends and acquaintances he made over the years. Most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. He never met a person he didn't like.

WATSEKA -- A memorial service for Carolyn Guill Liberty, 84, of Watseka, will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka.

Mrs. Liberty died Sunday (Jan. 5, 2003) at the Livingston Manor Nursing Home in Pontiac.

Mr. Midgett was an account manager at Aon of Chicago.
He was born March 30, 1937, in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Edna Linsky Midgett. His mother is deceased.
Surviving are his wife, Therese Midgett of Monee; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Nathan Lubbers of Elgin; his father of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; four grandchildren; and one sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Charlie Claar of Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
He was a member of the Sierra Club.
