LONGVIEW, Texas -- Visitation for Billy J. Blanton Jr., 44, of Longview, Texas, formerly of St. Anne, will be from noon-1:45 p.m. Saturday at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Anne Township cemetery. Rev. Bruce Salter will officiate.

He died Monday (Dec. 30, 2002) at his home, after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Blanton was employed for 20 years at Stemco Manufacturing in Longview.
He was born April 16, 1958, in Harlan, Ky., the son of Billy Sr. and Bertha Blanton.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lee-Ellen Finney; two daughters, Beth Blanton and Angela Blanton, both of Longview; his parents of Texas; seven sisters and two brothers-in-law, Doris of Brownsville, Texas, Lena and Eddie Noe of Longview, Connie of Bourbonnais, Teresa of Amarillo, Mary of Kankakee, Ronnie and Michael and Joan, all of St. Anne; one brother, Steve of Kankakee; special uncle, Henry Gray of Longview; and two nephews.
His grandparents, Steve and Lena Owens; and one sister, Mae Blanton, are deceased.
Mr. Blanton moved to St. Anne in 1974. He had lived in Longview since 1982.
He was a member of the Greggton United Methodist Church.
Thomas Brooks
Visitation for Thomas "Nula" Brooks, 38, of Kankakee, will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. services at Zion Gate Baptist Church. Rev. Ronald L. Bartlett will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.

He died Friday (Dec. 27, 2002) from a heart attack.
Mr. Brooks was employed by Eagle Food Store and Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born Nov. 14, 1964, in Crawford, Miss., the son of Thomas and Mary Brooks Harris. His mother is deceased.
Surviving are his fiancee, Carolyn Green; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Annette and Robert Hammond, Helen Brooks, Katy Carolyn Harris and Thomasina and Leonard Mobley, all of Kankakee, Estelle and Tyron James of Columbus, Miss.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Stevie and Brigitte Harris, Brian Carter and Patricia Brooks, all of Kankakee and Tom and Michelle Dooley of Macon, Miss.; several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
His great-grandmother, Hettie L. Metcalf; and two brothers, Johnnie Brooks Sr. and Scottie Tate, are deceased.
He enjoyed watching TV and working.

CLIFTON -- Visitation for Marie D. Graham, 92, of Clifton, formerly of Metropolis, will be from 2-4 p.m. Friday with services at 4:30 p.m. at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. Rev. Terry Tackett will officiate.
Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Odd Fellows cemetery in Metropolis.
Memorials may be made to the Clifton Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
She died Monday (Dec. 30, 2002) at Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home in Clifton, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Graham was a retired production worker at Mortell, Inc.
She was born Jan. 13, 1910, in Brownfield, the daughter of William and Alice Ruble Joyner.
Her husband, John Graham, whom she married
in 1933 in Moline, died in November 1954.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Earnest and Rebecca Graham of Clifton; one sister, Mary Fitch of Florida; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter, are deceased.
Mrs. Graham was a member of the Clifton Baptist Church.
She loved gardening.

Lawrence L. Hamilton, 96, of Kankakee, died Wednesday (Jan. 1, 2003) at Manor Care Nursing Center.
Visitation will be from noon Friday until the 2 p.m. services at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Rev. Richard Sagarsee will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church or to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
Mr. Hamilton was a tool and die maker at Kankakee Roper Corporation, retiring after 38 years of service.
He was born May 2, 1906, in Kankakee, the son of LeRoy and Mamie Carsten Hamilton.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen A. Tyrrell, whom he married
Jan. 26, 1936, at the Central Christian Church in Kankakee; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Marlene Hamilton of Bourbonnais; and two grandchildren, Diane and Jason Nitz of Bolingbrook and Timothy Hamilton of Bourbonnais.
One sister, Edith, is deceased.
Mr. Hamilton was a member of Central Christian Church.
He was a former Elks member.

Virginia J. Hartman, 56, of Kankakee, died Wednesday (Jan. 1, 2003) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. George Catholic Church.
Gerald Hundley
MANTENO -- Gerald E. Hundley Sr., 47, of Manteno, died Wednesday (Jan. 1, 2003).
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Private burial will be held.
Brown Funeral Home, Manteno, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Oct. 27, 1955, in Maryville, Tenn., the son of James E. and Juanita M. Wheeler Hundley. His mother is deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Kroll, whom he married
Jan. 8, 1977, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno; one son, Gerald L. Hundley Jr. of Manteno; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Joe Burdick of Bourbonnais; one grandchild; and his father of Hammond, Ind.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Hundley was a member of the non-denominational church.
He loved playing chess.

He died Wednesday (Dec. 18, 2002) in Tucson.
Mr. Marr was vice president and field manager of Carstens Electrical Service Inc. for 32 years.
He was born Nov. 11, 1927 in Manteno.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Audrey Marr of Tucson, Ariz.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James B. Marr and Jay C. and Patricia Marr; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Toby Slade; four grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Genita and Michael Salvagio; four sisters-in-law, Lucille Marr, Rosa Marr, Irma and Calvin Meyer, all of Illinois, and Lois and Allen Carstens of Tucson, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Wendell and Gerald Marr, are deceased.
He was a member of St. Mark's Presbyterian Church and volunteered for Tucson's Midtown Neighborhood Association.

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. -- Richard J. Swinke, 75, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., formerly of Kankakee, died Saturday (Dec. 28, 2002).
Services were held at 10 a.m. today at the CedarVale Funeral Home Chapel in Hot Springs Village. Rev. R.T. Jarell officiated.
Entombment was in the CedarVale Mausoleum, Hot Springs Village.
Mr. Swinke was retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked as a letter carrier.
He was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Kankakee, the son of William A. and Catherine Homberg Swinke.
Surviving are his wife, Lorene Olson Swinke; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert Swinke of Houston, Texas, David and Karen Swinke of Humble, Texas; one sister, Dolores Kokaly of Alamogordo, N.M.; and four grandchildren.
One brother, William Swinke; and one sister, Jackie Diamond, are deceased.
Mr. Swinke was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II and a member of the American Legion.
He was also a member of the Village United Methodist Church.

He died Monday (Dec. 30, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee.
Mr. Walling had worked 20 years at Shapiro Developmental Center.
He was born Nov. 12, 1944, in Kankakee, the son of LeRoy E. and Ethel Detour Walling. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodger L. and JoAnne Walling of Bradley, Gail and Janice Walling of Bourbonnais; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Walling was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Bradley American Legion Post 766, where he held every office there from Post Commander down. He was the first Vietnam veteran to hold a national Legion office, appointed as sergeant-at-arms in 1982.
He also was a life member of the Bradley VFW Post 6502. He served as past county commander, adjutant and sergeant at arms and was also district chaplain and sergeant-at-arms.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
