Clayton Bossert
Reddick native Clayton Bossert, 79, of Montgomery, died Sunday (May 26, 2002) at Rush-Copley Medical Center.
Services were held Thursday in Montgomery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 550 4th Avenue, Aurora, Ill.
Mr. Bossert is survived by his wife, Eleanor M. (Saum) Bossert; sons Rodger and Richard Bossert; stepson, Byron Saum; brother Clifford Bossert; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet L. (Miller) Bossert.
He was born March 21, 1923 in Reddick, the son of Irvin and Mabel Unz Bossert. His parents are deceased.
Mr. Bossert was a member of the Reddick High School Class of 1940 and a graduate of North Central College in Naperville. He played trumpet in the Ray Pearl Orchestra during the 1940's and enjoyed music all of his life.
He worked as a tool designer at Austin Western, Fox Valley Engineering, and the Straits Company where he was still an active employee. He also owned and operated the Bossert Machine Company for many years.
He was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Aurora, singing in the choir and serving in various offices. He was a member of the Aurora Elks Club, Italian-American Club and the Aurora Moose Lodge.

DENT, Minn. -- Donald Harry Cole Sr., 75, of Dent, Minn., formerly of Kankakee, died Friday (May 31, 2002) at Perham Memorial Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-Noon Monday at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham, Minn.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Dent, Minn.
Mr. Cole was born March 30, 1927 in Kankakee, the son of Harry and Claire Windal Cole. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Arlene Lucas, whom he married
June 1, 1957 in Sherburn, Minn., of Dent, Minn.; one son, Donald Cole Jr. of Manteno; one daughter, Cynthia Miller of Perham, Minn.; six grandchildren; and two aunts, Genieve Anderson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Wilma Chinski of Janesville, Wis.
Mr. Cole was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army in Italy.
He worked for the Kankakee Block Company, delivered propane, and was a journeyman lineman before owning and operating Cole's Sign Company. He then delivered mail for the Kankakee Post Office.

Donald Paul Jones, 73, of Kankakee, died Friday (May 31, 2002) at his home.
There will be no services.
Mr. Jones donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Association. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
Arrangements are by Fitzpatrick Funeral Directors.
Mr. Jones was born Sept. 14, 1928 in Marsailles, the son of Edward P. and Phoebe E. Grolke Jones. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Jane Stalnecker, whom he married
at Aroma Park Methodist Church, of Kankakee; two sons, Edward Jones of Bradley, Eric Jones of Chebanse; one brother, Carl Ivan Jones of Jasper, Wyo.; two grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
One brother; and one sister, are deceased.
Mr. Jones worked for Amberg, and Esslette.
He was groundskeeper for Aroma Park Little League.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1948-1949, training dogs in Korea.
He enjoyed woodworking.

WATSEKA -- Ernest A. Grove, 81, former mayor of Watseka, died Saturday, (June 1, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.

Floyd Callahan

MILFORD -- Floyd L. Callahan, 90, of Milford, died Friday (May 31, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Knapp Funeral home in Milford, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate.
Burial will be in Sugar Creek cemetery in Stockland, with military rites by Milford American Legion and VFW.
Memorials may be made to Milford Christian Church.
Mr. Callahan was born Oct. 29, 1911 in Milford, the son of Thomas and Harriett Lyon Callahan.
His wife, the former Laura C. Pratt, whom he married
April 12, 1936 in Watseka, died Sept. 20, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Fred Bohlmann of Watseka, Martha and Stephen Williamson of Greenville, S.C.; and three grandsons, Scot Williamson of Raleigh, N.C., Ryan Williamson of Greenville, S.C., and David and Julie Bohlmann of Palm Coast, Fla.
Five brothers; and two sisters, are deceased.
Mr. Callahan was a veteran of World War II, serving in France, Belgium and England.
He was a member of Milford Christian Church, Milford American Legion and VFW.
He worked for Iroquois Service Co./FS for 32 years.
He was an avid sports fan and gardener.

GARDNER -- Jean M. Bookwalter, 46, of Gardner, died suddenly Friday (May 31, 2002) in Custer Township, Custer Park.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Monday until the 7 p.m. service at R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel. Rev. Steven Friese will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Interment with private burial will be at Braceville-Gardner cemetery in Braceville.
Ms. Bookwalter was born Jan. 31, 1956 in Joliet, the daughter of Samuel J. and Beatrice Alderson Bookwalter. Her father is deceased.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and David VanDyke of Carrier Mills, Jody and Geoffrey Keele of O'Fallon, Mo.; two grandchildren; her mother, Beatrice Bookwalter of Braceville; one sister, Ann Bookwalter of Braceville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Linda Bookwalter of Kankakee, Larry and Sarah Bookwalter of West Frankfort; one sister-in-law, Shirley Bookwalter of Essex; nieces and nephews.
One brother, Donald Bookwalter; and two nephews, are deceased.
Ms. Bookwalter was employed at the Tennant Insurance Agency in Wilmington.
She was a former owner and operator of K & J Oils in Braidwood for about 15 years. Previously, she had been employed by Sun States at Commonwealth Edison in Braidwood and at the Godley Park District.
She enjoyed painting, crafts and flower gardening.

Joanne Naese, 64, of Kankakee, died Tuesday (May 28, 2002) at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Protestant Chapel at Shapiro Developmental Center.

Joseph Arthur Arseneau, 89, of Bradley, died Friday (May 31, 2002) at Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tues-day at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bradley. His son, the Rev. Vern Arseneau, will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Arseneau was born Dec. 14, 1912 in Bourbonnais, the son of George Sr. and Eleanor Joubert Arseneau.

Jan. 21, 1939, in St. George, of Bradley; one daughter, Marie Tanner of Santa Clarita, Calif.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rev. Vernon Arseneau of St. Mary's Parish in West Chicago, Gene and Frances Arseneau of Bradley, Ronald and Beth Arseneau of Arlington, Texas; six grandchildren, Ron Tanner and Jeff Tanner, both of California, Paul Arseneau of Phoenix, Ariz., Sarah David and Mary Beth Arseneau of Arlington, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Desci and Brianna Tanner, both of California, Clayton Arseneau of Phoenix, Ariz.; four step grandchildren, Sharon Ferriaolo of Kissimmee, Fla., Marie Yarno of Bradley, Dennis Nowman of St. Augustine, Fla., Pauline Morris of Kankakee; 11 step great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Dorothy Granger, and Lucille Granger, both of Bradley, and many nieces and nephews.
One step grandchild, Ace Nowman Jr.; three sisters, Evelyn Roy, Jeanne Savoie, Edna Arseneau; and seven brothers, George Jr., Roy, Willard, Edward, Anthony, Albert and Joubert Arseneau, are deceased.
Mr. Arseneau was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Bradley American Legion, St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bradley, and a member of the Holy Name Society.

Kathryn Morgan, 90, of Bourbonnais, died Saturday (June 1, 2002) at her home.

Lena Burrow
LIMESTONE TOWNSHIP -- Visitation for Lena Burrow, 97, of Limestone Township, will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Herscher Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, where services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Deacon Joseph Cotugno will officiate.
Burial will be in Pilot Center cemetery in Herscher.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley, or to the family.
Mrs. Burrow died Thursday (May 30, 2002) at the home of her daughter, Sandra Hartley, in Limestone.
She was born Nov. 28, 1904 in Missouri, the daughter of Huey and Martha Jane Reese Wilkins.
Her husband, Howard Burrow, whom she married
Dec. 4, 1924 in Missouri, died May 12, 1996.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Gil Dittus of Bonfield, Sandra and Karron Hartley of Limestone; one sister, Ellen Roney of Salem, Mo.; six grandchildren, Norma and Lonnie Brown, Vicki and Terry Hightower, Howard "Bud" Dittus, Diane and Terry Braisher, Todd and Stephani Hartley, Stacy Hartley and special friend Kevin; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ten brothers and sisters are deceased.
Mrs. Burrow was a cook for the Herscher School District for a number of years.
She was a member of the former Buckingham United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed being with her family and friends, and enjoyed fishing.
