Miracle Johnson

Graveside services for Miracle La'Shay Johnson, 2-day-old daughter of Quonita Johnson and D'Lorne Young Owens of Kankakee, were held at 9 a.m. today at Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Arrangements were by Lax Mortuary in Kankakee.
She died Sunday (Dec. 15, 2002) at the University of Chicago Hospitals.
She was born Dec. 13, 2002.
Surviving, besides her parents, are her maternal grandparents, Quonita Coleman and Roy Johnson; paternal grandmother, Lisa Murray; and several other relatives.

Joan Perry

WATSEKA -- Visitation for Joan R. Perry, 72, of Watseka, will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Frank Fisher will officiate.
Burial will be in GAR cemetery, Watseka.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Perry died Wednesday (Dec. 25, 2002) at Resthaven Central Nursing Care, Palos Heights.
She was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Hammond, Ind., the daughter of Elmer and Frances Schrader Jack. Her parents are deceased.
Her husband, Wilfred R. Perry, whom she married Dec. 29, 1956, in Watseka, died Aug. 21, 1975.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jana Perry of East Dundee; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Clarence Easter of Clifton; one brother, Porter Jack of Chebanse; one sister, Ruth Soldz of Alexandria, Va.; and three grandchildren, Douglas Easter, Jacalyn Easter and Colin Perry.
Mrs. Perry was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the DAR and the Iroquois County Grandmothers Club, all in Watseka.
She enjoyed bowling, bird watching, baking and gardening.

Kathryn Pivodich

LEMONT -- Kathryn M. Pivodich, 76, of Lemont, and the mother of a Kankakee resident, died Tuesday (Dec. 24, 2002).
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 11:30 a.m. services at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville.
Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery in Naperville.
She was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Chicago, the daughter of Peter A. and Mary Ripp Fitzgerald..
Surviving are her husband, Robert Pivodich of Lemont; two daughters and one son-in-law, Colleen and Greg Ford of Kankakee, Pattie Mainor of Baycliff, Texas; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Gerome and Rose Gabor of Austin, Texas, Donny Gabor of Chicago, William and Carol Gabor of Des Plaines, Danny and Diana Gabor of Crest Hill; one brother and sister-in-law, William and Alice Fitzgerald of Des Plaines; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Peter and Gerome Fitzgerald, are deceased.

Glenn Ryan

WAUWATOSA, Wis. -- Glenn W. Ryan, 75, of Wauwatosa, Wis., formerly of Kankakee, died Tuesday (Dec. 24, 2002).
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Sunday until the 3 p.m. services at the Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, 10121 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa.
He was born in Kankakee.
Surviving are his companion, Karen Tsoupeis; two sons, Michael Ryan and David Ryan; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

William Schneider
centenarian dies

Visitation for William J. Schneider, 103, of Kankakee, will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Herscher Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. He will lie in state from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 10 a.m. celebration of the funeral Mass at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Herscher. Con-celebrants of the Mass will be Revs. Ronald Hart and Charles Wheeler.
Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery in Herscher.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
He died Tuesday (Dec. 24, 2002) at Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home in Clifton.
Mr. Schneider was a farmer and had worked at the Roper Corporation.
He was born Dec. 23, 1899, in Norton Township, the son of Joseph and Mary Walgenbach Schneider. His parents are deceased.
His wife, the former Irene LeCocq, whom he married June 12, 1928, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Kankakee, died Oct. 17, 1997.
Surviving are six sons and five daughters-in-law, Robert and Phyllis Schneider of Lancaster, Texas, Lionell and Loretta Schneider of Clifton, Ronald Schneider of Buckingham, Jerome and Martha Schneider of Buckingham, Gerald and Linda Schneider of Herscher, Dennis and Janice Schneider of Bonfield; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Marilyn Schneider; and one brother, Edward Schneider, are deceased.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Mr. Schneider was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Holy Name Society at his church, the Newman Club, the Kankakee County Farm Bureau and a life member of the Kankakee Moose Lodge.
He had been a volunteer for the United Way of Kankakee County.

John Sibert
managed grain elevator

SHELDON -- John Edgar Sibert, 88, of Sheldon, died today (Dec. 27, 2002) at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Sheldon cemetery. Rev. Karen Martin will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Sheldon Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Sibert managed a grain elevator for years. He worked 17 years for the Donahue Package Store.
He was born Aug. 19, 1914, in Brownstown, Fayette County, the son of J.E. and Jennie Alexander Sibert.
His wife, the former Luceille Stout, whom he married Feb. 11, 1940, in Fairview, died March 2, 1991.
Surviving are one niece and nephews.
One brother and one sister are deceased.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sheldon.
Mr. Sibert was also a 50-year member of the Sheldon Masonic Lodge, a 32nd Degree Mason of the Valley of Danville Scottish Rite, and a member of the Mohammed Temple of Peoria Shriners Club.

William Harris Jr.

William L. Harris Jr., 40, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Bourbonnais, died Thursday (Dec. 19, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. today at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Rev. Jack McCormick will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Manteno Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member.
Mr. Harris was a senior analyst for 18 years at the Jenzabar Software Programming Company.
He was born Jan. 23, 1962, in Indianapolis, Ind., the son of William L. Sr. and Phyllis Mingus Harris.
Surviving are his parents of Bourbonnais; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Stefan Benoit of Kankakee and Lisa and Peter Tolan of Bradley.
He was a 1980 graduate and valedictorian of Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School. He graduated magna cum laude in 1984 from Olivet Nazarene University.
Mr. Harris was a nationally-ranked chess player.
He enjoyed bowling, biking, playing computer games and reading.

James Inkster

James E. Inkster, 87, of Kankakee, died Thursday (Dec. 19, 2002) at the Miller Center.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. services at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Nelson Scott will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
Mr. Inkster was a supervisor in production control at the Roper Corporation for 44 years, retiring Jan. 9, 1981.
He was born Oct. 9, 1915, in Kankakee County, the son of Robert B. and Arletta B. Stevens Inkster.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Taylor, whom he married July 15, 1939, in Kankakee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Verna J. and Harold Boyer of Columbia, Mo., Mary and Ronald Radtke of Wausau, Wis.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Four great-grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Thomas Milk, are deceased.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
Mr. Inkster had given over 16 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross over the years.
He was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter, gardener, photographer and traveler.

Christopher Noonan

GODLEY -- Christopher Noonan, 18, of Godley, died suddenly Friday (Dec. 20, 2002).
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Monday until the 1 p.m. services at the Main St. Baptist Church in Braidwood, where he was a member. Rev. George Hendricks will officiate.
Burial will be in the Braceville-Gardner cemetery, Braceville.
Arrangements are by the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel.
Surviving are his parents, Clarence Noonan of Godley and Tracey (Aiken) Olsowsky of Wilmington; one brother and sister-in-law, Kalvin and Virginia Noonan of Braceville; one sister, Melissa Olsowsky of Castile, N.Y.; paternal grandparents, Clarence Sr. and Iva Noonan of Dubuque, Iowa; maternal grandparents, Sharon Conley of Portland, Ore. and Robert Aiken of Bliss, N.Y.; one niece and one nephew.
Christopher was a senior at Gardner-South Wilmington High School.
