AFFTON, Mo. -- Ernest A. "Ernie" Cambridge, 86, of Affton, Mo., formerly of Onarga, died Thursday (May 30, 2002).
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday until the 2:30 p.m. service at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga. Rev. Charles Shelquist will officiate.
Burial will be in Onarga cemetery with military rites by Onarga American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the World War II Memorial Fund.
His first wife, the former Mildred Richards, whom he married
Dec. 13, 1938 in Kentland Ind., died Oct. 8, 1984.
Surviving are his wife, Ola Cambridge; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary R. and Carolyn Cambridge; one stepdaughter, Charlene and Michael McKinney; one sister; Wilma Redeger; one brother, Myron Cambridge; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and nine great-grandchildren.
His parents, Charles and Josephine Cambridge; two sisters, Dorothy McGough and Leta Diner, are deceased.
Mr. Cambridge was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Glendola Holtman
CLIFTON -- Services for Glendola Holtman, 85, of Clifton were held May 30 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. Revs. Cecil H. Carroll Jr. and Tim Rademacher co-officiated.
Mrs. Holtman died May 26, 2002.
Burial was in Clifton cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Blasey, Gary Peters, Harold Peters, Scott Quindry, Craig Alberts and Ralph Weaver. Honorary bearer was Lynn Yount.
Wayne White
ST. ANNE -- Services for Wayne L. White, 63, of St. Anne, were held May 30 at First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Edward Heck officiated.
Mr. White died May 27, 2002.
Burial was in St. Anne cemetery. Pallbearers were Cary Grant, Hawk Kohankie, Jim Mossman, Joe Martino, John Ruhm, Danny Cote, Henry Christenson and Jack Newcomb.
Mary Payne
Services for Mary Lou Payne, 74, of Bradley were held May 29 at Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel in Kankakee. Rev. James DeMent officiated.
Mrs. Payne died May 23, 2002.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Justin Payne, Scott Payne, Merle Karns, Terry Ward, Ron Lewis and Jeff Barnett.
Delores DuCharme
A funeral Mass for Delores DuCharme, 70, of Kankakee, was celebrated May 30 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Rev. Richard Jacklin officiated.
Mrs. DuCharme died May 24, 2002.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Vallos, Daniel Hofer, Ronnie Reiniche, Bobby Wends, Robert Gatton and Stephen Reinbolt.
Leslie Knowles
Services for Leslie W. Knowles, 100, of Bradley were held May 31 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral homes. Rev. Jim Goetzler officiated.
Mr. Knowles died May 29, 2002.
Burial was in Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Elmhurst. Pallbearers were David, Larry, Jim and Daniel Knowles, Gary Denny and Jeremy Damia.
Judith Morris
CHICAGO -- Judith Morris, 38, of Chicago, and sister of a Kankakee resident, died Sunday (May 26, 2002) at Highland Park Hospital in Northbrook.
Graveside services will be held at Homewood Memorial Gardens cemetery, 181st Street and Ridge Road. Rev. Carl D. Wright will officiate.
Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home in Chicago.
Mrs. Morris was born Oct. 1, 1964 in Chicago, the daughter of Willie and Magnolia Morris. Her mother is deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Kevin Thomas Sr., whom she married
Oct. 1, 1982 in Chicago; her father, Willie Morris Sr.; four children, Jovonna, Kevin, Ericka and Jarita; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine Ellivers, Josephine Morris, Brenda and Rev. Carl David Wright of Kankakee, Helena and Raoul Hiliare; three brothers, Arlee, Robert and Willie Jr.; grandmother; mother-in-law; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two sisters are deceased.
Lena Burrow
LIMESTONE -- Lena Burrow, 97, of Limestone, formerly of Buckingham, died Thursday (May 30, 2002) at the home of her daughter, Sandra Hartley, in Limestone.
Visitation is tentatively set for Monday with a 10 a.m. service Tuesday at the Herscher Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
Leslie Tidball
ESSEX -- Leslie C. Tidball, 71, of Essex, died Thursday (May 30, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes Ltd., Braidwood Chapel.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Custer Park Baptist Church. Rev. Larry Schreffler will officiate.
Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood.
Memorials in his name to the Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to the Custer Park Baptist Church would be appreciated.
Mr. Tidball was born April 25, 1931 in Wayne County, the son of Estel and Nellie Riggs Tidball.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Cheryl Tidball of Essex, Bob and Lisa Wood of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Jamie Meyer, Matthew Tidball, Lauren Tidball, Mary Wood, Julie Wood, Allison Wood, Lauren Wood, and Gracie Wood; one brother, Lester Leon Tidball of McLeansboro; one sister, Vivian Breeze of Wayne City; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dorothy Thorndike of Ashkum.
Mr. Tidball was a retired ironworker.
He had been a member of the Iron Workers Union, the Custer Park Baptist Church and the Essex Historical Society.
He was a 32nd degree Mason.
Mr. Tidball was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the 453rd Construction Engineers Battalion during the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Corporal.
He enjoyed dancing, music, wildlife and westerns.
Nina Olson
centenarian dies
DANFORTH -- Nina Olson, 103, of Danforth, formerly of Hoopeston, died Tuesday (May 28, 2002) at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday until the 2:30 p.m. services at Hamilton-Orr Funeral Home in Hoopeston. Revs. Danny A. Lybarger and Gary Fairchild will co-officiate.
Burial will be in Floral Hill cemetery in Hoopeston.
Memorials may be made to Gilman United Methodist Church, Hoopeston United Methodist Church, or Prairieview Lutheran Home.
Mrs. Olson was born Sept. 5, 1898 in Boilvar, Mo., the daughter of Frank B. and Tempa Davis Mitchell.
Her husband, Elmer W. Olson, whom she married
Dec. 24, 1918 in Hoopeston, died in 1956.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Jean and James Shelly of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One son, one daughter, two brothers, and one sister are deceased.
Mrs. Olson was a member of the first graduating class of John Greer High School in Hoopeston.
She lived on a farm in the Plainview neighborhood for more than 70 years before moving to Danforth in 1989.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hoopeston, serving the church as a teacher, circle leader, worship chairman, and lay delegate.
She had been a Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital volunteer, 4-H leader, and Red Cross volunteer.
She was a member of the Jolly Dozen Club, Vermilion County Homemakers, and Memory Lane Doll Club.
She attended Leisure Crafts, a camping and counseling camp for 29 years, and enjoyed making and sharing crafts.
Robert MacDonald

PARK FOREST -- Robert MacDonald, 85, of Park Forest, member of several Manteno organizations, died Wednesday (May 29, 2002), at St. James Hospital and Health Centers in Chicago Heights.
Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Lain Sullivan Chapel, 50 Westwood Drive in Park Forest.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Skyline Memorial Park Chapel, Route 50 and Route 54 in Monee.
Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Park, Monee.

Mr. MacDonald was a marketing agent for Illinois Bell for 31 years, retiring in 1978.
He was born June 8, 1916 in Chicago.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy C. Smith; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert M. and Michele Timm of Park Forest; and two grandchildren, April Timm of Chicago, and Kelly and Peter Lapin of Winter Haven, Fla.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Infantry in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.
He was a life member of VFW Post 3624 in Manteno, a member of the Manteno American Legion Post 755, a lifetime member of the Manteno Sportsmen's Club, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
William Burke
PEOTONE -- William J. Burke Sr., 76, of rural Peotone, died Thursday (May 30, 2002).
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; two daughters, Paulette Butler of Bourbonnais and Judith Hescox of California; two sons, William Burke Jr. of Niles, and Noel Burke of Manteno; nine grandchildren; one sister; and two brothers.
Services are tentatively set for June 8 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Manteno.
Arrangements are by the Senesac Kankakee Funeral Home.
