COLFAX -- Myla May Evans, 87, of Colfax, and the sister of a Bourbonnais resident, died Saturday (Oct. 11, 2003) at Heritage Manor. Services were held Oct. 14 at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Colfax. Rev. Dan Jassman officiated. Burial was in Wiley cemetery in Colfax. Memorials may be made to the Colfax United Methodist Church, where she was a member for more than 50 years; or to the activity fund of Heritage Manor in Colfax. Mrs. Evans had worked as an office receptionist and after her marriage she helped her husband with their farming operation for 30 years. She was born March 25, 1916, in rural Colfax, the daughter of Peter Cleveland and Lillie Weeks Decker. Her husband, Roscoe Evans, whom she married Nov. 22, 1940, in Beaver Dam, Ky., died Feb. 21, 2001. Surviving are one daughter, Sharon Jolene Evans of Gibson City; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Margean McCullough of Bourbonnais, Bernice and Howard Kelley of Normal, Betty Campbell of West Babylon, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong resident of Colfax. In 1990, she moved from the farm where she was born. She was a graduate of Colfax High School and Brown's Business College.

Mary Griffith

Mary Griffith, 85, of Bradley, formerly of Manteno, died Tuesday (Oct. 14, 2003) at Bradley Royale Health Care Center. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. wake service at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Manteno. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno, where she was a member. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery in Manteno. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mrs. Griffith retired from Manteno State Hospital after many years of service. She was born Sept. 18, 1918, in Smerwick, Ireland, the daughter of Thomas and Ellen Mitchell Devine. Her parents are deceased. Her husband, James O. Griffith, whom she married May 29, 1946, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno, died June 30, 1985. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Libby Griffith of Arlington Heights; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Kateen Simpson, Peggy and Donal O'Halloran, Bridie Kelliher and Sr. Eoin Devine, all of Ireland; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Margaret Devine of Ireland; and two grandchildren, Erin Griffith and Brendan Griffith, both of Arlington Heights. One brother, Paddy Devine; and one sister, Heleneen O'Riordan, are deceased.

Mary Klug

Mary A. Klug, 82, of Bourbonnais died Oct. 2, 2003 at Provena St. Mary's Hospital. Cremation rites were accorded. Scattering of the ashes will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Mound Grove Scattering Gardens.

Rita Larsen

JOLIET -- Rita Ann Larsen, 62, of Joliet, stepmother of a Coal City resident, died Friday (Oct. 10, 2003) at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Services were held Oct. 12 at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home in Joliet. Rev. Richard Ross officiated. Mrs. Larsen formerly worked for the Wunderlich Door Company in Joliet. She and her husband were involved with the Ingalls Park in Joliet. She was born in Ottawa, the daughter of William and Florence Duckworth. Her father is deceased. Surviving are her husband, James F. Larsen of Joliet; one daughter and son-in-law, Jodi Lyn and Mark Steel of Wheeling; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark and Linda Wenz of Plainfield, Sean "Bud" Wenz of Romeoville; her mother, Florence Flaherty of Ottawa; three grandchildren; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Lisa and John McLuckie of Coal City; two stepsons and one stepdaughter-in-law, Brian Larsen of Joliet, Greg and Pam Larsen of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, John and Diane Duckworth of Antioch and William Duckworth of Ottawa. One brother, James Duckworth; and one sister, Florence Andrews, are deceased. She was a graduate of Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts.

Eloise Lindsay

Eloise A. Lindsay, 78, of Bourbonnais, died Tuesday (Oct. 14, 2003) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, and from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. services at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bradley, where she was a member. Rev. Craig Sagebiel will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Prairie View Nursing Home or to the donor's choice. Mrs. Lindsay was a self-employed beautician for 26 years. She was born March 10, 1925, in Aroma Park, the daughter of Trevlyn and Annabelle Kohl Riggs. She was raised by her grandparents, Anna and John Kohl. Her husband, Thomas Lindsay, is deceased. Surviving are two sons, Thomas Lindsay of Kankakee, Robert Lindsay of Ham Lake, Minn.; two daughters, Phyllis Cox of Kankakee, Marjorie Waselewski of Chebanse; seven grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren; one half-sister, Shirley Phifer of Florida; and one sister-in-law, Diane Mathis of Bourbonnais. One half-sister, Isetta Newcomb; and one half-brother, Paul Riggs, are deceased. She was a member of the Bourbonnais Grove Historical Society and past president of the PTA in Bourbonnais. Mrs. Lindsay was a Sunday School teacher at her church and a member of the Altar Guild. She was a craft artisan, seamstress and enjoyed growing roses.

Earl Osborn

Visitation for Earl W. Osborn, 78, of Bourbonnais, will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. services at Fitzpatrick Funeral Directors in Kankakee. Burial will be in the Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood. He died Monday (Oct. 13, 2003) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital. Mr. Osborn was a cab driver in Joliet, a school teacher in California and an machinist mate in Illinois. He was born Aug. 17, 1925, the son of Earl and Madlin Sanderson Osborn. Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Joann Osborn of Paramount, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Osborn served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He received the American Campaign Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze stars.

Virginia Pratt

MOMENCE -- Virginia Pratt, 91, of Momence, died Wednesday (Oct. 8, 2003) at Momence Meadows Nursing Center. Cremation rites have been accorded. Scattering of ashes will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Mound Grove Scattering Gardens. Fitzpatrick Funeral Directors, Kankakee, is in charge of arrangements. She was born Feb. 25, 1912 in Kankakee.

Janet Senesac, cake decorator

Janet Marie Senesac, 54, of Demotte, Ind., formerly of Kankakee, died Monday (Oct. 13, 2003) at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, Ind. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa Catholic Church. Rev. Gregor Gorsic will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Kankakee. Memorials may be made to the family. Mrs. Senesac was a cake decorator. She was born Dec. 18, 1948, in Kankakee, the daughter of Victor and Darlene Betourne Soucie. Her parents are deceased. Surviving are her husband, Dennis Senesac, whom she married July 13, 1968, in Kankakee, of Demotte; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Raymond Senesac of Demotte, Ind., Robin and Christina Senesac of St. Anne; one daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and John Schupp of Lowell, Ind.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Betsy and Jim Darche of Henderson, Ky., Mary and Jackson Smith of Kankakee, Rae and Richard Ringer of Bradley, Carol and Charlie Ohman of Toledo, Iowa; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Barb Soucie of St. Anne, Robert and Sue Soucie of Danforth, John and Joyce Soucie of Urbana, David and Darlene Soucie of Henderson, Nev.; six grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Senesac attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Momence for many years. She enjoyed baking, especially at Christmastime and for the holidays.

Robert Collins

MILFORD -- Services for Robert E. Collins, 49, of Milford, were held Oct. 9 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Revs. Tom McCann and Robert Killion officiated. Mr. Collins died Oct. 6, 2003. Burial was in Sugar Creek cemetery, Stockland. Pallbearers were Bill and Mark Collins, Amy Jo and Marc Johnson, Bill Schunke and Tony Stebbins.

Erma Sorenson

Services for Erma Sorenson, 87, of Kankakee, were held Oct. 6 at the Bradley Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Mrs. Sorenson died Oct. 2, 2003. Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Erica Olenczuk, Karen Smith, Jeremy, Chris, Jerry and Dawn Sorenson and Karen Larson.

Ronald Stanley

Services for Ronald E. Stanley, 65, of LaFayette, Ga., formerly of Kankakee, were held Oct. 13 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Martin Gutzmer officiated. Mr. Stanley died Oct. 8, 2003. Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Sells, Wes Shadowen, Jim Morris, Jim Landis, Dave Pippin and Wesley R. Shadowen. Honorary pallbearers were Lou Mansfield, Jeff Greer and Michael Shadowen.

Marie Laubscher

CISSNA PARK -- Services for Marie A. Laubscher, 87, of Cissna Park, were held Oct. 11 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Cissna Park. Ministers of the church officiated. Mrs. Laubscher died Oct. 9, 2003. Burial was in the Apostolic Christian cemetery in Cissna Park. Pallbearers were Greg and Chris Rudin, Wes Knight, Tim Wright, Ben Laubscher, Thad Heinold, Rick Meyer and Jason Rudin.

Mildred Weber

MANTENO -- Services for Mildred "Louise" Weber, 71, of Manteno, were held Oct. 4 at the First Presbyterian Church in Manteno. Revs. Marsha Collins and Linda Burr-Moxley officiated. Mrs. Weber died Oct. 1, 2003. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery, Manteno. Pallbearers were Matthew Weber, Terry Wilson, Harold Stuart, Calvin Meyer, Gordon St. John and Jack Kohl.

LaVern Hahs

Services for LaVern Hahs, 82, of Bradley, were held Oct. 13 at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Derick Miller officiated. Mr. Hahs died Oct. 7, 2003. Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Harvey Battrell, Ray Denault, Nick Gineris, Harvey Hackley, Bob and Leonard Martin, Larry Shourd and Leon Slovikoski.

Raymond Wolf

BEAVERVILLE -- Services for Raymond "Ray" F. Wolf, 70, of Beaverville, were held Oct. 13 at Immanuel Church of Christ in Papineau. Mr. Wolf died Oct. 9, 2003. Burial, with military honors by the Momence Honor Guard, was in the Papineau cemetery. Pallbearers were Bryan Benso, Keith Stratman, James Albright, Troy and Terry Carman and Harold Richardson.
