THE VILLAGES, Fla. -- Thomas P. Preisser, 75, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Ashkum, died Wednesday (Aug. 13, 2003) at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Catholic Church in Ashkum. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Lake and Sumter, Inc., 12300 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778 or for Mass offerings. Mr. Preisser was a retired sales manager from Sears after 35 years of service. He was born July 17, 1928 in Chicago. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Patricia Preisser of The Villages; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Lisa Preisser of Columbus, Ohio, Timothy Preisser and his fiancee, Carol Baldwin of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Bill Lloyd of Marysville, Ohio; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He moved to The Villages, Fla. in 1991 from Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Preisser served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Catholic faith, the Loyal Order of the Moose, Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Fraternal Order of the Knights of the Unstable Table.

CHESNEE, S.C. -- Guildas Reneau, 88, of Chesnee, S.C., formerly of Kankakee, died Aug. 8, 2003, at his home, after an extended illness. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the New Tribes Missions, c/o Paul Wolff, 921 RC Thompson Road, Chesnee, S.C. 29323. Mr. Reneau was employed as a professional dancer and locomotive technician He was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Kankakee, the son of George and Cora Nourie Reneau. His wife, Rose Perritano Reneau, is deceased. Surviving are two sons, Ronald Reneau of San Francisco, Calif., Raymond Reneau of Chesnee, S.C.; two sisters, Julie Schultz of Carol Stream, Sr. Alice Reneau of Davenport, Iowa; one brother, Robert Reneau of Kankakee; and four grandchildren. Two brothers, Rev. Quentin Reneau and George Reneau, are deceased. Mr. Reneau served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

ONARGA -- Services for Donald E. Eheart, 51, of Onarga, were held Aug. 18 at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. Rev. John Story officiated. Mr. Eheart died Aug. 14, 2003. Burial was in the Onarga cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Grimm, Andy Snapp, Mike Carlson, Kenny Leonard, Jeremy Runyan and Donald J. Eheart. Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Christer Sr., Nichols Miller, Denny Chase, Harley Miller and the Stone Cold motorcycle club.

A funeral Mass for Richard P. "Dick" Haynes, 67, of Bourbonnais, was celebrated Aug. 18 at Maternity BVM Catholic Church in Bourbonnais. Rev. John Linnan officiated. Mr. Haynes died Aug. 12, 2003. Inurnment was in Mt. Calvary cemetery in Kankakee. Pallbearers were Ashley, Luke, Meghan, Meagan and Nathan Haynes, Jeremy and Jacob Stam, Jason Haynes and Cody and Courtney Brown.

Services for David L. Surprenant, 58, of Bradley, were held Aug. 15 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Kankakee. Rev. Martin Gutzmer officiated. Mr. Surprenant died Aug. 12, 2003. Burial was in the St. George cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeremy Surprenant, Daron Jensen, Jason Long, Leonard Flock, Dale Arnold and David Surprenant.

Services for Daniel A. Mill, 42, of Lakewood, Colo., formerly of Kankakee, were held Aug. 16 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Dennis Settles officiated. Mr. Mill died Aug. 10, 2003. Burial was in All Saints cemetery in Bourbonnais. Pallbearers were Matthew Mill, Nicholas, Andrew and Adam Hurst, Bradley Mill and Joseph Dailey. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Grosso, Ron Barnhill and Kasey Sizemore.

MANTENO -- Visitation for Leroy "Lee" Blomquist, 76, of Manteno, will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Brown Funeral Home in Manteno. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Manteno, where he was a member. Rev. Linda Burr-Moxley will officiate. Private burial will be Monday in the Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood. Memorials may be made to the family wishes. He died Wednesday (Aug. 20, 2003) at the Miller Center in Kankakee. Mr. Blomquist was a retired electrician for U.S. Steel. He was born April 29, 1927, in Chicago, the son of Benjamin and Gertrude Haywood Blomquist. His parents are deceased. Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Sparrey, whom he married
May 15, 1948, in Chicago, of Manteno; three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Jean Blomquist, Russell and Linda Blomquist, all of Indiana, David and Cathie Blomquist of Thornton; and three grandchildren, Adam, Matthew and Timothy Blomquist. One brother, Harold Blomquist, is deceased. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Blomquist was on the building committee at his church. He loved woodworking and stained glass.

One sister, one brother and one daughter are deceased. Mr. Carlson worked with the Boy Scouts and was a 50-year member of the Knights of Pythias.

Elizabeth "Betty" Dominick, 89, of Kankakee, died Tuesday (Aug. 19, 2003) at Bradley Royale Health Care Center. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the 10 a.m. funeral Mass to celebrate her life at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Graveside services will follow at Mt. Calvary cemetery in Kankakee. Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boys Town or to the family wishes. Betty had a wonderful life filled with plenty of love and compassion. Surviving are her nieces and nephews, "the light of her life," Joanna and Michael Eubanks of Bourbonnais, RoseMarie and Joseph Bisselle of Mesa, Ariz.; stepson and daughter-in-law, Donald and Virginia Dominick of Kankakee; one stepgranddaughter, Kim and Ricky Magruder of Savannah, Ga.; one stepgrandson, Jeff and Mirjana Dominick of Arlington, Va.; one great-grandson, Paolo Rigo; and several other nieces and nephews. Betty was born May 17, 1914, the daughter of the late Charles Thompson and Florence Winn of Watertown, N.Y. Betty grew up in Watertown, N.Y. where she attended school. After World War II she moved to Kankakee where she met and married
her husband, Julius Dominick, on May 18, 1957. They stayed and cared for his parents until they died in 1962; then they moved to Miami, Fla. In September 1982 Julius passed away in Florida. Betty's compassion and nurturing made the end of his life bearable. She then moved back to Kankakee in 1983 because of the beauty of his family. Betty was a giving soul who dearly loved her nieces and nephews, her extended family and her friends, especially Cecile Daniels of Kankakee. Betty lived her 89 years to the fullest and will be remembered for the smiles and laughter she shared with the many family members and friends she touched.

Oct. 27, 1940, in Burlington, Iowa, died July 5, 1983. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Larry Waters of Watseka; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert Hines of Watseka, William and Debbie Hines of Kentland, Ind.; one sister-in-law, Helen Thompson of Watseka; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. One son, Fred L. Hines; three brothers, four sisters and two grandsons, Jerry and Michael Hines, are deceased. She was a 1936 graduate of Milford Township High School and a graduate of Danville Beauty School. Mrs. Hines was a charter member and past officer of the Watseka Emblem Club, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Watseka Elks Club. She was affiliated with the Milford Christian Church and enjoyed baking and sewing.

Mrs. Holt was a finance consultant with World Savings in Salinas, Calif. She was born May 17, 1957, in Chicago, the daughter of James and Marie Harris Redmond. Surviving are her husband, Timothy D. Holt; four sons, Andrew E. Redmond of Oakland, Calif., Darrius R. Redmond of Los Angeles, Calif., Justin McWilson of Salinas, Calif., and Gkujae Holt, serving in the U.S. Navy; one daughter, Aisha Holt of Hayward, Calif.; five sisters and one brother-in-law, Ernestine Woods of Fitzgerald, Ga., Mary Dee and Joe Douglas of Bolingbrook, Ill., Cheryl E. Redmond of Sacramento, Calif., Maxine Redmond of Indianapolis, Ind., Betty J. Redmond of Benton, Miss.; three brothers, Johnnie L. Redmond of Kankakee, William J. Redmond of Wahiawa, Hawaii, and James Redmond Jr. of Benton, Miss.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Fred D. and Nancy L. Holt; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Holt was a youth choir director and church usher at her church.
