STRAWN -- Norene Katherine Falck, 77, of LaGrange, formerly of Strawn, died Sunday (Oct. 13, 2002) at LaGrange Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Friday until the 2 p.m. services at Hager Memorial Home, Chatsworth. Rev. Guy Keysear will officiate.
Burial will be in the Chatsworth cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Hospice, 8230 S. Madison St., Burr Ridge, IL 60527.
Miss Falck had worked as an accountant and auditor of Sears Bank and Trust in Chicago, retiring in 1970.
She was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Strawn, the daughter of Henry A. and Elizabeth Ann Hornickel Falck.
Surviving are one brother, Wilmer Falck of Merrillville, Ind.; one brother-in-law, Frank Kuntz of Savoy; one sister-in-law, Anselma Falck of San Antonio, Texas; six nieces and six nephews.
Three sisters, Violet Royse, Leona Kuntz and Bernice Hummel; and four brothers, Vernon, Lloyd, Marvin and Harold Falck, are deceased.
She attended Covey County School and graduated as valedictorian of her high school class, from Chatsworth Township High School, in 1942. She attended Illinois Commercial College in Champaign and received a CPA from Northwestern University.
Miss Falck was a member of the Congregational Church in LaGrange.
She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe.
Fred Wiersma
Services for Fred Wiersma, 91, of Kankakee, were held Oct. 14 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
Mr. Wiersma died Oct. 11, 2002.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Nobile, Scott Reihland, Neil Verhagen, Noah Reynolds and Peter and Roger Peerbolte.
Richard Muehling
CISSNA PARK -- Services for Richard L. Muehling, 77, of Cissna Park, were held Oct. 14 at the Union Church in Cissna Park. Rev. John Lang officiated.
Mr. Muehling died Oct. 11, 2002.
Burial was in Cissna Park cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Koppenhoefer, David Eifert, Craig Muehling, Scott Vogel, Doug Temple and Aaron Krueger.
Eleanor Anderson
Services for Eleanor M. Anderson, 79, of Kankakee, were held Oct. 14 at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel. Revs. Kathy and Craig Sweet officiated.
Mrs. Anderson died Oct. 11, 2002.
Burial was in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Dean Hutson, Larry Janczak, Russell and Bill Brough, Bill Skoff and Frank Morrical. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Branz and Richard Bruyneal.
Mary Geier
WATSEKA -- Mary E. Geier, 88, of Watseka, died Monday (Oct. 14, 2002) at Watseka Health Care Center.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Ind., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in IOOF cemetery, Rochester, Ind.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice in Watseka.
Local arrangements are by the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
Mrs. Geier was retired from Hart, Shaffner and Marx Clothiers.
She was born Feb. 20, 1914, in Tippecanoe, Ind., the daughter of Ora C. and Maude Shaw Kleckner.
Her husband, Estil C. Geier, whom she married
Nov. 19, 1958, in Rochester, Ind., died April 2, 1960.
Surviving are one son, Robert Geier of Watseka; three grandchildren, Eric (Annetra) Geier of Lakeside, Calif., Scott Geier of Smyrna, Tenn., Lynette Geier of Ft. Bliss, Texas; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Samuel H. Kleckner of Mishawaka, Ind.; and one sister, Edna F. Elliott of Plymouth, Ind.
She was a member of the Methodist church.
Lucy Goff
LODA -- Lucy J. Goff, 92, of Bayles Lake, Loda, died Sunday (Oct. 13, 2002) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. John Hauck will officiate.
Burial will be in Pine Ridge cemetery, Loda.
Surviving are one brother, Jack Coe of Bradenton, Fla.; and one sister, Maxine Harding of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
Mary Green
Visitation for Mary Emma Green, 63, of Bradley, will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bradley Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
She died Sunday (Oct. 13, 2002) at her home.
Mrs. Green had been a cook for several years at Bradley Central Grade School. She had also been employed by Team Printing.
She was born Oct. 31, 1938, in Olney, the daughter of John Cye and Hattie Tolliver Works. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Allen Green of Bradley; one son, Mark Green of Kankakee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanna and Andrew Krein of Plainfield, Robin and Gregory Orrill of Fort Worth, Texas; and four grandchildren.
One brother, Charles Works, is deceased.
Mrs. Green was a past member of the Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School Band Boosters, Color Guard and the BBCHS Drum and Bugle Corps.
She enjoyed reading, bingo, the ocean and visiting plantations in the South and other historical homes.
James Greer
Visitation for James Antione "Skeeter" Greer, 19, of Kankakee, will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. services at Shiloh Full Gospel Baptist Church, where he was a member. Rev. Alan Roundtree will officiate.
Jones Funeral Home, Kankakee, is in charge of arrangements.
He died Thursday (Oct. 10, 2002).
Mr. Greer was an industrial laborer. He was a carpenter's apprentice.
He was born March 12, 1983, in Newport News, Va.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Casandra Greer-Allen and Robert L. Allen Jr. of Kankakee, his father, Kevin Blackwell; two sisters, Michel'le D. Greer and Shirenda Williams, both of Kankakee; one brother, Jason Adams of St. Louis, Mo.; grandmother, Dorthy Greer; grandfather, Oliver Greer; several aunts and uncles; several cousins; and special friend, Patricia Kirk.
His great-grandmother, Beatrice Hill; and uncle, Billy Greer, are deceased.
Mr. Greer was a member of the church basketball team and a church soundroom apprentice.
Gene Parsons
MESA, Ariz. -- Gene Parsons, 58, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Kankakee and Bourbonnais, died Wednesday (Oct. 2, 2002) at Mesa Lutheran Hospital, Mesa, Ariz.
He was born Jan. 28, 1944 in Niles, Mich.
Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Carroll of Martinton and Sheila Schultz of Iroquois; one brother, Jack Parsons of Watseka; two sisters, Marjorie Steffy of Mesa, Ariz., Shirley McDonough of Kankakee; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and two brothers are deceased.
Mr. Parsons was a U.S. Army veteran.
He moved to Arizona in 1986.
Gene Scarbrough
ROBERTS -- Gene Scarbrough of Glendora, Calif., formerly of El Paso and Roberts, and the relative of area residents, died Thursday (Oct. 10, 2002) after a long illness.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at Lyman Township cemetery in Roberts.
Leighton Schultz

DWIGHT -- Leighton W. Schultz, 81, of Dwight, formerly of Herscher, died Monday (Oct. 14, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hager Memorial Home, Dwight.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Dwight, where he was a member. Rev. Daniel Ognoskie will officiate.
Burial will be in Lutheran cemetery, Herscher.
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Dwight, or to the donor's choice.
Mr. Schultz had farmed for 20 years in the Herscher and Dwight area. He then owned and operated the Coast to Coast Hardware Store in Dwight for 25 years, retiring in 1987.
He was born June 5, 1921, in Herscher, the son of George and Minnie Imhauser Schultz.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elsie Heinrich, whom he married
Nov. 22, 1942, in Dwight; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Bricker of Dwight; three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Rita Schultz, Gary and Patricia Schultz, all of Morris, David and Maureen Schultz of Dwight; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
One brother and one great-grandchild, are deceased.
He was a 1939 graduate of Herscher High School.
Mr. Schultz was a member of the Men's Club of his church and had served on the church board.
He and his wife spent winters in Florida.
He enjoyed fishing.
