Marie Williamson
COAL CITY -- Marie L. Williamson, 89, of Joliet, formerly of Coal City, died Wednesday (Dec. 4, 2002) at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at Reeves Funeral Home, Coal City. Rev. Jack Schimandle will officiate.
Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Wilmington.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born Feb. 22, 1913, in Coal City, the daughter of Michael and Mary Fornelli Macketta.
Her husband, Frank Williamson, whom she married
Aug. 9, 1942, is deceased.
Surviving are three sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Marilyn Williamson of Herscher, Tommie Williamson and Donnie Williamson, both of Joliet; three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Margaret and Christina Henke, both of Coal City; two brothers, James Macketta of Verona, John Macketta of Coal City; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister, Lorraine; and one brother, Joseph, are deceased.
She was educated in Coal City.
She enjoyed reading, sewing and growing flowers.
Edna Wilson
GILMAN -- Graveside services for Edna L. Wilson, 89, of Gilman, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lyman Township cemetery, Roberts. Rev. Connie Williams Moodie will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
She died Tuesday (Dec. 3, 2002) at the Gilman Nursing Pavilion.
Mrs. Wilson was a state and federal civil service employee at the Anna State Hospital in Anna and also worked at the Western Dress Factory in Gilman for 40 years, before retiring in 1975.
She was born Sept. 21, 1913, in Roberts, the daughter of Edd and Maggie B. Torbet Hornickel.
Her husband, William F. Wilson, whom she married
Feb. 22, 1936, in Danforth, died Aug. 20, 1978.
Surviving are three granddaughters, Gail Quade and Joy Westbrock, both of Sauk Centre, Minn., Jill Stoeckman of Tampa, Fla.; two stepgrandchildren, Zach Goff and Courtney Goff; and six great-grandchildren.
One son, William Wilson Jr.; one daughter, Patricia Goff; and one brother, John Hornickel, are deceased.
She was a 1930 graduate of Roberts High School and attended Gallagher Business School in Kankakee.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Gilman, and the Women's Guild.
She was the local secretary for the Ladies Garment Workers Union for 30 years.

Jacob Acosta
Issac Sal Acosta and Jacob Simon Acosta, infant sons of Salvador Simon and Leanna Tilley Acosta, of Kankakee, died at birth Thursday (Nov. 21, 2002) at Loyola University Medical Center.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Surviving in addition to their parents are one sister, Bethany Sigler; and one brother, Alex David Acosta, both at home; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Betty Tilley of Bourbonnais; and several aunts and uncles.
Their paternal grandparents, Eloy V. Sr. and Maria G. Acosta, are deceased.
Rev. John Hallock
MILFORD -- Rev. John O. Hallock, 87, of Milford, died Tuesday (Dec. 3, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Knapp Funeral Home in MiIlford, and from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 10 a.m. services at the First Christian Church, Watseka. Rev. David Todd will officiate.
Burial will be in Sugar Creek cemetery, Stockland.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice, United Parkinson Foundation or to the First Christian Church in Watseka.
Rev. Hallock served churches in Ohio, Kentucky and Illinois. He taught science in a number of schools and counseled.
He was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Stockland, the son of Rev. Earl and Flossie Estella Rosenberger Hallock.
Surviving are his wife, the former Shirley J. Sutton, whom he married
Oct. 11, 1969, in Oglesby, of Milford; six sons and five daughters-in-law, Royce and Heather Hallock of Corpus Christi, Texas, Randall and Julie Hallock of Lake in the Hills, Nolan and Paula Hallock of Tonica, John and Becky Hallock of Ashley, Rev. Terry and Norma Hallock of Wataga, Robert Hallock of Lincolnshire; one daughter and son-in-law, Melodie and Mark Swanlund of LaMoille; one sister, Marjorie Wright of Ft. Worth, Texas; and 14 grandchildren.
One grandson is deceased.
He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Watseka.
Rev. Hallock began his education at Fairview Country School in rural Stockland. He was a 1934 graduate of Gatesburg High School and received a bachelor of science degree from Eureka College. He graduated from Lexington Theological Seminary, Lexington, Ky., with honors and a master of divinity degree.
He was a 60-year veteran of the Boy Scouts where he received the Order of the Arrow.
He was a member of Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge, Mohammed Shrine of Peoria, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Mental Health Association, and Illinois Society, Sons of the American Revolution.
Paul Hungate,

THOMPSONVILLE -- Paul K. Hungate, 88, of Thompsonville, and the brother of Manteno residents, died Nov. 8, 2002, at the VA Medical Center in Marion.
Services were held Nov. 29 at the Corinth Christian Fellowship Church in Corinth. Rev. Denny Steed officiated.
Mr. Hungate was a retired carpenter.
He was born July 4, 1914, in Hamilton County, the son of Wade and Ethel Dye Hungate.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Darryl and Sue Hungate, Terrial "Tom" and Cathy Hungate, all of Thompsonville; one daughter, Neva Jane Hungate of Thompsonville; one brother, Charles Robert Hungate of Gravette, Ark.; three sisters, Eulah Melvin and Frankie Senesac, both of Manteno, Georgia Betsakos of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
One sister, Vondaleigh Mezo, is deceased.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Masons.
Eugene Ivy
Eugene Ivy, 94, formerly of Manteno, died today (Dec. 4, 2002) in Evanston.
Arrangements are pending at Brown Funeral Home in Manteno.
James Kitsmiller
SAN ANGELO, Texas -- James Harold Kitsmiller, 77, of San Angelo, Texas, formerly of Onarga, died Nov. 22, 2002.
Inurnment rites were held Nov. 30 in San Angelo.
He attended school in Onarga and was a World War II veteran.
Leonard Anderson
Services for Leonard E. Anderson, 81, of Bourbonnais, were held Nov. 30 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Revs. Dan Boone and Dale Wine officiated.
Mr. Anderson died Nov. 23, 2002.
Burial with military rites by the Momence Honor Guard was at Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Alvin Saathoff
IRWIN -- A funeral Mass for Alvin H. Saathoff, 76, of Irwin, was celebrated Nov. 30 at St. James Church in Irwin. Revs. James Holup and John Driscoll co-officiated.
Mr. Saathoff died Nov. 26, 2002.
Burial was in St. James cemetery. Pallbearers were Glenn, Scott, Ted and Stanley Saathoff, Donald Brinkman, Dale Miller, Eric Jamison and Brennan O'Connor.
Bernice Devine
Services for Bernice Devine, 93, of Bradley, were held Dec. 2 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Don Long officiated.
Miss Devine died Nov. 30, 2002.
Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, Chebanse. Pallbearers were Raymond Marko, Brian Graham, Gary and Bill Noe, Tim Czarnecki and John Munsch.

GILMAN -- A memorial service for Leland E. Schuette, 49, of Monett, Mo., formerly of Gilman, was held Dec. 2 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Crescent City. Rev. Harold Grafe officiated.
Mr. Schuette died Nov. 15, 2002.
Burial was in St. Peter cemetery, Crescent City. Pallbearers were John Gocken, Larry Mennenga, Kenton and Larry Munsterman and Larry and Mike Schuette.
Selma Blanchette
IROQUOIS -- Services for Selma H. Blanchette of Iroquois, formerly of Bradley, were held Dec. 3 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Larry Schreffler officiated.
Mrs. Blanchette died Nov. 30, 2002.
Burial was in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis Alexander, Terry, Adam and Ron Gordon, Jeff Alexander and Dennis Benge.

MANTENO -- A funeral Mass for Ruby J. Whalen, 82, of Manteno, was celebrated Dec. 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manteno. Revs. Edward Grotovsky and Tony Nugent and Deacon Pete Henrissey officiated.
Mrs. Whalen died Nov. 29, 2002.
Burial was in St. Joseph cemetery, Manteno. Pallbearers were Dan, Scott and Bryan Whalen, Ron, Jack, Brian and Tom Jenkins and Fred Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Quigley and Bill Mansfield.
John Crays
AROMA PARK -- Memorial services for John W. Crays Sr., 87, of Aroma Park, were held Nov. 30 at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, Kankakee. Deacon Joe Cotugno of the Illinois Veterans Home, Manteno, officiated.
Mr. Crays died Nov. 27, 2002.
