Visitation for Gertrude M. Buckner-Stoffel, 86, of Bradley, formerly of Gilman and Danforth, will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Raymond Barclay will officiate. Burial will be in Danforth cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Mrs. Stoffel died Saturday (Aug. 2, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center. She was born March 7, 1917 in Danforth, the daughter of Herman and Gertie Saathoff Gerdes. Her husband, Charles Stoffel, died in 1978. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Christine Buckner of Bradley; two sisters, Pauline Neipert of Kankakee, Sadie Seils of Racine, Wis.; and two grandchildren, Stacey and Ryan Buckner. Six brothers; and two sisters, are deceased. Mrs. Stoffel was assistant head of domestics at Riverside Hospital. She was of the Lutheran faith, a member of the Kankakee Woman's Club and the Home Extension. She graduated from Illinois State University in Normal, and taught in Gilman, Danforth and Ashkum schools.

A funeral Mass for Jace B. Lillis, 21, of Bourbonnais, was celebrated July 30 at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, Bourbonnais. Rev. Gino Donatelli and Chaplain Thomas Ross officiated. Mr. Lillis died July 26, 2003. Burial was in All Saints cemetery, Bourbonnais. Pallbearers were Ryan Lillis, B.J. Geasa, Jason Meents, John Delya, Paul Nelson, Mike Vickers, Pat Dauphin and Justin Lunsford.

Mr. Sneed was retired from Manteno State Hospital and had worked at Ford Motor Co. in Chicago and at General Foods. He worked in the family sawmill and was an accomplished cake baker. He was a member of the Golden Agers at his church. He enjoyed the Bulls and country gospel music. Everyone who knew Harold loved him for his gentleness, shyness and a happy smile. He was a great friend to all.

He volunteered as a Little League baseball coach in St. Joseph for nearly 20 years. He also served as a girls' elementary basketball coach at St. Joseph Grade School, and served as a boys' elementary basketball coach for the St. Joseph area through both the St. Joseph Grade School and the Champaign County YMCA.

Surviving are his wife, the former Eva Lourine Emery, of Indianapolis, Ind.; one son, Gary Brubach of Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and Blaine Welker of Michigan, Laurie and Don Starnes of Denver; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Pauline Kinneman of Vienna; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Two sons, Lennie and Scot, are deceased. Mr. Kinneman was a retired truck driver for KID Disposal. He was a member of IOOF, Mason, was Red Cross Volunteer of the Year in 1989 and 1977, and was chairman of the disaster committee for the Illinois State Police.
