CLIFTON -- Moriah A. Cintora, 6 months old, of Clifton, died Sunday (July 20, 2003). Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Hickey Memorial Chapel, 2429 W. 127th St., Blue Island. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Benedrict Church. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. She was born Jan. 10, 2003, in Kankakee, the daughter of Miguel Cintora and Sarah Martinez. Surviving, besides her parents of Clifton, are her grandparents, Virginia and Jose Cintora and Sheila and Donald Sander; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

MANTENO -- Doloris Janis Hillmer, 65, of Manteno, died Sunday (July 20, 2003) at her home. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, with services at 7:30 p.m., at the Brown Funeral Home in Manteno. Cremation rites will be accorded. She was born Dec. 14, 1937, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Lillian Christensen Hufker. Her parents are deceased. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Rana Hillmer of California; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jill and Brian Wolf of Peotone, Lisa and Craig Krygowski of Posen, Deanna Beemster of Monee; and 10 grandchildren. She loved dogs.

ESSEX -- George Hoffman, 69, of Essex, died Monday (July 21, 2003) at his home. Arrangements are pending at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel.
Francis Kent
CRETE -- Francis "Gene" Kent, 68, of Crete, and the relative of area residents, died July 14, 2003. Services were held July 19 at the Crete Funeral Home. Entombment was in Washington Memory Gardens cemetery in Homewood. Mr. Kent was a retired fork lift operator at the Ford Motor Company Chicago Heights Stamping Plant and a volunteer with the Will County Sheriff's Department. Surviving are his wife, Sue Kent; three sons and two daughters-in-law, William and Shelley Kent, Edward Kent and Richard and Amy Kent; one granddaughter, Amanda; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Laveal and Bruno Papineau and Reba and Charlie Priest; many nieces and nephews. He was a friend to all. One sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Robert Carson, are deceased.

PONTIAC -- Frances Ilene Lown, 80, of Pontiac, and the mother of a Bourbonnais resident, died Sunday (July 20, 2003) at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, with a 5 p.m. rosary service at the Duffy Funeral Home in Pontiac. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac, where she was a member. Rev. Steve Loftus and Deacon George Wanger will officiate. Burial will be in St. Clare's cemetery in Altamont. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac. Mrs. Lown was a child-care provider. She was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Effingham County, the daughter of Casper and Paulina Weber Roedl. Her husband, Dennis F. Lown, whom she married
Sept. 9. 1945, in Edgewood, died Nov. 10, 1983. Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Denny and Jolene Lown of Bourbonnais, Donnie and Mary Lown of Pontiac, Doug and Judy Lown of Union Star, Mo., Dave and Dana Lown of Pontiac; one brother and sister-in-law, Casper and Doris Roedl of Champaign; and nine grandchildren. Six sisters and one brother are deceased. She was educated in Mahon schools near Effingham.

Kathryn "Kay" Mattingly of Kankakee died Monday (July 21, 2003) at a Bradley nursing home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the 10 a.m. celebration of the funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Senesac Kankakee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, MaryKay Eickhoff of Florida.
Alva Reitsma
Visitation for Alva Reitsma, 88, of Kankakee, was from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home in Flat Rock, Mich., where services were held at 11 a.m. Friday. Tom D. Jarrell officiated. Burial was in Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock. Local arrangements were handled by the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Ms. Reitsma died Wednesday (July 16, 2003) at the Miller Center in Kankakee. She was born March 11, 1915, in Kentucky, the daughter of Green B. and Martha Boyd Conn. Her husband, Leonard Jarrell, whom she married
in 1930 in Dana, Ky., died in 1969. She later married
Herman Reitsma. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard Jr. and Barbara Jarrell of Ishpeming, Mich., Robert and Nancy Jarrell of Brownstown, Mich., Tom and Linda Jarrell of LaFollette, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Don Baumgartner of Kankakee; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Eva Roberts of Hessel, Mich., Myrtle Hamilton of Jacksonville, Fla., Joanna and Terry Lykens of Honaker, Ky.; one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Mary Alice Conn of Dana, Ky.; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. One son, Daniel Jarrell; one grandson, Robert Jarrell; one great-grandson, Daniel Baumgartner; two brothers, Woodrow and Aaron Conn; and one sister, Era Ratliff, are deceased. Ms. Reitsma was affiliated with the Aroma Park United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening.

A funeral Mass for Loretta "Lorry" M. Grzelak, 74, of Bourbonnais, was celebrated July 16 at Maternity BVM Catholic Church. Rev. John Linnan and Deacon Francis Chamness officiated. Mrs. Grzelak died July 11, 2003. Burial was in Maternity BVM cemetery. Pallbearers were John, Peter, Francis and Paul and Christopher Grzelak and Ken Harper.
Frank Goodwin
WILMINGTON -- Services for Frank Howard Goodwin, 82, of rural Wilmington, were held July 21 at the United Methodist Church in Wilmington. Revs. David Lagos-Fonseca and Shirley Pulgar-Hughes officiated. Mr. Goodwin died July 16, 2003. Burial was in Wesley Township cemetery in Ritchie. Pallbearers were Scott, Matthew, Jaime, Jeff and Jillian Goodwin and Kathryn, Michael and Edward Traub. Honorary pallbearers were Ryan and Devin Goodwin.

CRESCENT CITY -- Services for Emma Helene Carley, 88, of Crescent City, were held July 18 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Crescent City. Revs. Harold Grafe and Ray Barclay officiated. Mrs. Carley died July 15, 2003. Burial was in St. Peters Lutheran cemetery in Crescent City. Pallbearers were David, Doug, Mike and Matt Carley, Jason and Jonathan Jerome and Kyle and Kevin Arthur.

DANFORTH -- Services for LaVerne Eldeene Eheart, 83, of Danforth, were held July 21 at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. Rev. Ray Jackson officiated. Mrs. Eheart died July 18, 2003. Burial was in Glen cemetery, Paxton. Pallbearers were Franklin and Andrew Eheart, Todd Hull, Chris Benjamin, Steve Kemarly, Chad Currie and Donnie Eheart.

Alleman, 97, formerly of Cedar Point and Oglesby, and the mother-in-law of a Bourbonnais resident, died Saturday (July 19, 2003) at Spring Valley Nursing Center, where she had been a resident for the last 12 years. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the 10 a.m. services at the Prey Funeral HOme in Oglesby. Rev. Gary Salm will officiate. Burial will be private in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Mrs. Alleman was a retired registered nurse. She was born Feb. 4, 1906, in Oglesby, the daughter of Robert and Lillie Voorhees Pryde. Her husband, John D. Alleman, whom she married
Aug. 13, 1932, in Dundee, died Oct. 27, 1969. Surviving are three sons and four daughters-in-law, Jerry R. and Rhonda Alleman of Ottawa, Richard D. "Dick" and Diane Alleman of Cedar Point, Jack M. and Beverly Alleman of Morton, Lynn E. Alleman of Bourbonnais; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and Warren Mercer of Oglesby; and nieces and nephews. One son, William Alleman; one sister; and three brothers, are deceased. She was a member of Grace Bible Church.

ST. ANNE -- Dorothy "Dottie" Arseneau, 65, of St. Anne, died Saturday (July 19, 2003) at her home. There will be a gathering to celebrate Dottie's life at Norm and Dottie's home from 5-8 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name for the education of her grandchildren. Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Arseneau was retired from TTC and had worked at Egan Buick, where she had been awarded "Employee of the Year in 1986." She was born Feb. 22, 1938, in Shreveport, La., the daughter of Malvin A. and Naomi McGaugh Croy. Her parents are deceased. Surviving are her husband, Norman Arseneau, whom she married
Sept. 20, 1958, in Martinton, of St. Anne; one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Karla Arseneau of Kankakee; one daughter and son-in-law, Randi and Joe Kelso of Bourbonnais; three sisters, Florine Tooley of New Orleans, La., Ruby Richardson and Patricia Clanton, both of Shreveport, La.; one brother, Dalton Croy of Tampa, Fla.; and six granddaughters, Tayler, Paige, Sidney and Sophie Arseneau and Kayla and Payton Kelso. One son, Jeffrey Alan; and one brother, Robert, are deceased. Mrs. Arseneau was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, golf, bowling and crocheting.

KEMPTON -- Visitation for Walter J. Berens, 69, of Kempton, will be from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the 11 a.m. celebration of the funeral Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kankakee. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Kankakee. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kankakee, where he was a member. He died Saturday (July 19, 2003) at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Mr. Berens was a partner in Berens Machine Tool and Die and had also farmed in the Kempton area. He was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Kankakee, the son of Ferdinand and Anna Kampwirth Berens. His parents are deceased. Surviving are two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and James Settles of Manteno, Ann and Chuck Ruder of Herscher; two brothers, Arnold Berens of Chebanse, Joe Berens of Kankakee; and several nieces and nephews. One brother, Leo, is deceased. He was a graduate of St. Patrick High School and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Berens was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed playing cards.
