DANFORTH -- LaVerne Eldeene Eheart, 83, of Danforth, died Friday (July 18, 2003) at her home, after a sudden illness. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. today at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. Pastor Ray Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Glen cemetery, Paxton. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Mrs. Eheart and her husband had farmed west of Gilman. She had waitressed at The Crossroads and K&H; Truck Plaza, both in Gilman and had also did housekeeping at Farr's Motel (now called Budget Host) in Gilman. She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Roberts, the daughter of Raymond and Mabel Neisewander Currie. Her parents are deceased. Her husband, Franklin M. "Jack" Eheart, whom she married
Feb. 14, 1941, in Piper City, died March 10, 1988. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Debra Eheart of Gilman; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and David Schoon of Danforth; five grandchildren, Milisa and Chris Benjamin, Michelle Schoon and Todd Hull, Angel and Steve Kemarly, Franklin Eheart, Andrew and Jennifer Eheart; and seven great-grandchildren, Madison Riley Hull, Jacob Eheart, Alley Eheart, Anna Eheart, Megan Kemarly, Damon Eheart and Hanna Eheart. One daughter, Julene Mabel; two brothers, Everett and Donnie Currie; one sister, Mabel Julene Currie; are deceased. She spent her childhood in Roberts and attended area country schools. She enjoyed gardening, baking, embroidery and playing with Maddy.

MONEE -- Lucy Ooley, 83, of Monee, died Thursday (July 17, 2003) at her home. Private services will be held. Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Park in Monee. March 22, 1947, in Wellheim, Germany, died in 1980. Surviving are one son, Robert Ooley Jr. of Monee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Ed Christensen of Monee, Rose and Mhammad Benyyssen of Manteno; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. One sister, Emmy; and one granddaughter, Deanna Gray, are deceased.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Rick W. Sheets, 50, of Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Kankakee, died Wednesday (July 16, 2003) in Arizona. Cremation rites were accorded. Private services will be held in Arizona. Memorials may be made to the family. Mr. Sheets worked several years as an appliance repairman. He was born April 11, 1953, in Kankakee, the son of Willis T. and Marian M. Duffield Sheets. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Chris and Larry Lochner of Bonfield, Melissa and Chad Tanner of Lakenheath AFB, England; one son, Matthew Sheets of Bourbonnais; his mother and stepfather, Marian M. and Wayne A. Hartman of Manteno; one sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Ray Edwards of Bourbonnais; one brother, Dick J. Sheets of Peoria, Ariz.; one half-sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Jim Meents of Kankakee; one half-brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Andi Sheets of Plano; two stepsisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Bruce Rosenbrock of Grant Park, Sherry and Terry O'Neill of Ottawa; three stepbrothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Mary Hartman of Bourbonnais, Duwayne and Sheila Hartman, Kole and Susie Hartman, all of Manteno; former wife, Elizabeth Sheets of Bourbonnais; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sumrall was a self-employed mechanic, truck driver and waste management business owner. He was born March 14, 1926, in Laurel, Miss., the son of Ceasar Sr. and Della Donald Sumrall. One sister, Magdaline Knott; and one brother, William Len Sumrall, are deceased. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1949. Mr. Sumrall was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved fishing, hunting, traveling and playing sports.

DECATUR -- Grady "Ray" Cobstill, 81, of Decatur, and the brother of a Momence resident, died Monday (July 14, 2003) at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the Dawson and Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Graveside services, with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Cobstill was a radio repairman for the Signal Depot and a carpenter for Al-Jet Enterprises. He was born April 25, 1922, in Checotah, Okla., the son of Jesse and Stella Millsap Cobstill. His wife, the former Amelia Louise Badger, whom he married
Aug. 31, 1943, died Jan. 20, 1997. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Marcella Cobstill of Argenta, Dave and Carrie Cobstill of Downs; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathy and Robert Baggett of Decatur, Becky and Scot Hardesty of Kennesaw, Ga., Jeanne Cobstill of Decatur; one brother, Garland Cobstill of Momence; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One sister is deceased. Mr. Cobstill served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star for action in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the VFW and the American Legion.
