Services for Frank Charles Evans, 84, of Bradley, were held July 7 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Richard Sagarsee officiated. Mr. Evans died July 4, 2003. Burial was in the Aroma Park cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael, Chris and Jeremie Nickles, Kenneth Sifirt, Robert Evans and Tom McVey.

MILFORD -- Services for Clyde Marvin Brasel, 80, of Milford, were held July 16 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Revs. Pat Allin and Neil Larimore officiated. Mr. Brasel died July 12, 2003. Burial was in the Sugar Creek cemetery, Stockland. Pallbearers were Mark Brasel, John Martin, Larry Mabbitt, Tom Tinsman, Gary Handy, Garry Hinkle, Jeff Cavitt, Neil Schippert and Wes Handy.

WATSEKA -- Services for Warren S. Buck, 79, of Watseka, were held July 16 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka. Rev. Mel Meyers officiated. Mr. Buck died July 12, 2003. Burial was in Prairie Dell cemetery, Iroquois. Pallbearers were Kevin Bossong, Timothy Mathis, Ray Piper, Eric Kalhust, Dan Menigoz and Joseph White. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Clark and Russell Daniels.

A funeral Mass for Alfred P. "Beau" Kyrouac, 78, of Bourbonnais, was celebrated July 16 at Maternity BVM Catholic Church. Rev. John Linnan and Deacon Mush Marcotte officiated. Mr. Kyrouac died July 13, 2003. Burial, with military rites by the Bradley American Legion, was in All Saints cemetery, Bourbonnais. Pallbearers were Mark and Kenneth Kyrouac, Kyle Williams, Ronnie Sieling, Don Atutis and Art Cox.

BEAVERVILLE -- A funeral Mass for Arthur Martell, 78, of Beaverville, was celebrated July 16 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Beaverville. Rev. Robert Coleman officiated. Mr. Martell died July 12, 2003. Burial was in St. Mary's Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Eric, David, Gary, Chad and Shon Martell and Kyle Nolan. Honorary pallbearers were Tammy Nolan, Colleen Thomas, Diane Martell, Nicole Martin and Ashley Crabtree.

WILMINGTON -- George Fredrick Turner, 79, of Wilmington, died Tuesday (July 15, 2003) at Rosewood Care Center in Joliet. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. services at the Freitag Funeral Home in Wilmington. Rev. Peter M. Holmer will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery in Wilmington. Mr. Turner retired from Caterpillar in 1983, after 31 years of service. He was born June 7, 1924, in Ritchie, the son of Fred and Julia Diven Turner. Surviving are one brother-in-law, Roy Harris; friend, Joe Stofko of Rosewood; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Five sisters, Helen Barnes, Edith Strubler, Ruth Schulz, Caroline Turner and Cora Harris; one brother, Harold Turner; one nephew, Gene Strubler; one niece, Dorothy Harris; and one great-niece, Lea Ann Young, are deceased. Mr. Turner was a Hall of Fame Senior Citizen Volunteer and a 50-year member of the Moose Lodge 1634 of Litchfield. He was a member of the Ritchie United Methodist Church and was also known for his good work at the Nutrition Site at the First United Methodist Church.

BUCKLEY -- Dale C. Warrens, 88, of Buckley, died Tuesday (July 15, 2003) at the Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City. Services were held at 11 a.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley. Burial, with military graveside rites, was in Pine Ridge cemetery in Loda. Surviving are his wife, Verna Warrens of Buckley; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Robert Koritz of Byron; one son and daughter-in-law, Darold C. and Rita Warrens of Glen Carbon; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

COLFAX -- Clarence C. Brucker, 87, of Colfax, and the brother of a Cissna Park resident, died Thursday (July 10, 2003) at Heritage Manor in Bloomington. Services were held at 11 a.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Colfax, where he was a member. Rev. Connie Frase officiated. Burial was in Wiley cemetery, Colfax. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Colfax. Mr. Brucker was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 1978. He was also employed for several years at the ASCS office in McLean County. He was born Aug. 24, 1915, in Lawndale Township, McLean County, the son of Charles and Elizabeth Stein Brucker. His wife, the former Leora M. Gerdes, whom he married
Sept. 28, 1940, died July 13, 1998. Surviving are three daughters and one son-in-law, Lois M. Brucker and Arlene L. Brucker, both of Bloomington, Alice J. and George Meeker of Mason City; one son, Harlan E. Brucker of Colfax; one sister, Lorene Gerdes of Cissna Park; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Six brothers and six sisters are deceased. Mr. Brucker was a member of the McLean County Farm Bureau and The Never Too Old Club in Colfax.

He died Sunday (July 13, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Mr. Burling was a property manager. He was born April 21, 1929, in Clifton, the son of Harry and Florence Tillman Burling. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Burling of Watseka; four daughters and sons-in-law, Caren and Jake Myers of Martinton, Connie and Bob Garrett of Rhinelander, Wis., Dianne and Lonnie Heimberger of Chebanse, Debbie and Mike Granzow of Clifton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and Claude Carriger, Dolly and Laverne "Jim" Fatka, all of Gilman; one brother, Harris Burling of Kankakee; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one grandchild are deceased. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Burling was a member of the VFW and the Iroquois County Historical Society. He was an accomplished Euchre player.

Giddings, 61, of University Park and a former area resident, will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lax Mortuary in Kankakee, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. services at the First Baptist Church in University Park. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood. He died Saturday (July 12, 2003) at St. James Hospital and Health Centers in Chicago Heights. Mr. Giddings was employed by the U.S. Postal Services as a postman and retired after 37 years of service. He received a certificate of appreciation for 36 years of dedicated service to one route. He was currently working at Ultra Foods as a greeter. He was born Aug. 9, 1941, in Chicago, the son of John W. and Zelma Castleman Giddings. Mr. Hansen was a lifelong farmer in Chebanse. He was also the longtime co-owner of Clifton Grain and Hansen Bros. Grain in Chebanse. Two brothers, Arthur and Orval Hansen; one sister, Elizabeth Coffman; two grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Joe Coffman; and one sister-in-law, Doris Hansen, are deceased. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Hansen was a member of the Kankakee Elks, the Bradley Moose, the Bradley VFW and the Clifton American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and other outdoor activites.

DETROIT, Mich. -- Ethan Michael Huizenga, infant son of Aaron and Alysa Heitz Huizenga and grandson of area residents, died Saturday (July 12, 2003) at Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit of complications stemming from a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Ethan was born June 10, 2003 in Detroit. Memorial services with a lunch to follow will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Reformed Church in Kankakee. Revs. Dale Vos and Tim VanHeest will officiate. Memorials are preferred and will be designated by the family at a later date. Surviving are his wife, Florence Matas of Herscher; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sharon and Ken Guest of Herscher, Judy Minneci of Altamonte, Fla.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Clarence Matas of California.
