Alfred P. "Beau" Kyrouac, 78, of Bourbonnais, died Sunday (July 13, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, after a short illness. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, where he was a member. Burial will be in All Saints cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family wishes. Mr. Kyrouac was retired from the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno. He had also worked at Kankakee Roper for 35 years. He was born March 26, 1925, in Clermont, Fla., the son of Alfred and Laudicia Bottary Kyrouac. His parents are deceased. Surviving are his wife, the former Rita A. Drazy, whom he married
Oct. 26, 1946, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, of Bourbonnais; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Jennifer Kyrouac of Collinsville, Gary and Dona Kyrouac of Seeley Lake, Mont.; two sisters, Carol Neveau of Bradenton, Fla., Patricia Onken of Bourbonnais; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Kyrouac of Gardner; two grandchildren, Aaron Kyrouac and Hailey Kyrouac; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Kenneth and Terrance Kyrouac, are deceased. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Kyrouac was a member of Moose Lodge 802 and the Bradley American Legion. He loved to read and enjoyed the outdoors.

BEAVERVILLE -- Arthur Martell, 78, of Beaverville, died Saturday (July 12, 2003) at his home. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7:30 p.m. wake service at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home in St. Anne. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Beaverville, where he was a member. Rev. Robert Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery in Beaverville. Memorials may be made to the restoration of St. Mary's Church or to the family wishes. Mr. Martell was a retired farmer and had worked at Valspar Corp. for 23 years. He was born Oct. 4, 1924, in Beaverville, the son of Elmer and Gertrude Varboncoer Martell. May 11, 1946, in Beaverville; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Terry and Darlene Martell of Beaverville, Vince Martell and special friend, Robin, of Kankakee, Ricky and Deborah Martell of Beaverville, Lance and Belinda Martell of Watseka; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Dan Hofer of Bradley; two sisters, Opal Fortin and Rita Lambert, both of Beaverville; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; special family friend, Sylvia Perzee of Clifton; and several nieces and nephews. One son, Gary Martell; one sister, Ruth Chartier; and one great-granddaughter, Priscilla, are deceased. Mr. Martell was a member of the Holy Name Society at his church, the Beaverville Lions Club, the Illinois Farm Bureau and the Kankakee Valley Wanderers. He collected John Deere miniature tractors and pocket knives.
Carl Mosley
Services for Carl Mosley, 54, of Kankakee, were held July 12 at Lax Mortuary. Clarence Thacker officiated. Mr. Mosley died July 6, 2003. Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Jobie and LaJobie Mosley, Nate Hughes, James Wright, Bryant BoBo and Tappion Mosley. Mary Baird WATSEKA -- Graveside services for Mary A. Baird, 100, of Watseka, were held July 12 in Prairie Dell cemetery in Iroquois. Rev. Neil Larimore officiated. Mrs. Baird died July 8, 2003. Pallbearers were Jack, Michael and Aaron Parsons, Marcus and Christina Jensen and Tim Bohlmann.

Surviving besides her parents are two brothers, Colin and Austin; one sister, Rylee; paternal grandfather, Clarence "Dude" Rousey of Buckley; maternal grandparents, David and Nancy Burling of Watseka; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Her paternal grandmother, Christine Rousey, is deceased.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mascoutah and was involved with the Children's Miracle Network. She enjoyed going to auctions and collecting Pepsi memorabilia.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Wednesday until the 7 p.m. services at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. VanderMeer retired in 1991 from Valspar as a dye tinter. He also owned the antique store in Momence. He was born July 9, 1931, in Kankakee, the son of Henry and Carrie Blankestyn VanderMeer. Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen and Tom Kottwitz of Elmhurst, Bonnie VanderMeer of Largo, Fla.; two grandchildren; special friend, Anita Steele of Bourbonnais; several nieces; and his former wife, Phyllis VanderMeer of Bourbonnais. Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Clara VanderMeer and Neal and Ruth VanderMeer, are deceased. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. VanderMeer was a member of the Methodist faith and past member of the Kankakee American Legion. He loved buying and selling antiques.

He was a 1968 graduate of Eastridge High School, received his bachelor's degree from Olivet Nazarene College and a master of divinity degree from Oral Roberts College in Tulsa, Okla. He was ordained in 1990 at the Illinois Great River (formerly Illinois River Conference). Rev. Brault was a board member of the Putnam Co. Achievement Services. He enjoyed hockey and baseball. He had played on the Peoria Hockey League.

She was a 2000 graduate of Eldorado High School and was a junior at Oral Roberts College in Tulsa, Okla. Miss Brault was a member of Gamma Beta Phi Sorority, the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the choir at South Hills Methodist Church in Tulsa, Okla.

Mrs. Fox began her working career as a teacher and in 1945 she bought a flower shop. She owned and operated Fox's Flowers for 30 years. Later in life she became an accomplished "China Painter". She was born July 15, 1912, in Blanchard, the daughter of Rev. L. G. and Allie Moyers Hartley. Her husband, Hubert W. Fox, whom she married
