CRETE -- Esther Diersen Paul, 85, of Crete, died Tuesday (Aug. 20, 2002) at St. James Manor.
Visitation will be from noon Sunday until the 3 p.m. services at Trinity Lutheran Church, Crete, where she was a member. Rev. John Stellick will officiate.
Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran cemetery, Crete.
Hack Funeral Home, Beecher, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born March 25, 1917, in Monee, the daughter of Herman and Ella Koelling Ziems.
Her first husband, William Diersen, is deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Martin Paul of Crete; three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Mary Diersen, Don and Geraldine Diersen, all of Appleton, Wis., George and Janet Diersen of Chandler, Ariz.; one sister-in-law, Melinda Ziems of Beecher; one brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Grace Ziems of Elroy, Wis.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
One sister and one brother are deceased.
Theodore Potrzebski,

Theodore J. Potrzebski Sr., 80, of Bradley, died Wednesday (Aug. 21, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. John Antczak will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley, where he was a member.
Mr. Potrzebski retired from Bradley Roper after 43 years of service.
He was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Bradley, the son of Vincent and Josephine Kanuzewski Potrzebski.
Surviving are his wife, the former Angeline M. Serve, whom he married
June 16, 1943, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Kankakee; one son and daughter-in-law, Theodore Jr. and Kathy Potrzebski of Bradley; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim Mendell of Kankakee; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
One sister, Genevieve Weaver; and one brother, Vincent Potrzebski, are deceased.
Mr. Potrzebski was a U. S. Army veteran serving during World War II in Europe and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Bradley American Legion.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, especially growing roses.

GILMAN -- A memorial service for Shirley Stevenson Ryan, 99, of Gilman, will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman, is in charge of arrangements.
She died Tuesday (Aug. 20, 2002) at her home.
Mrs. Ryan was an antique dealer.
She was born Oct. 19, 1902, in Fort Deposit, Md., the daughter of W.C. and Lena Stevenson.
Her husband, Henry C. Ryan, whom she married
in 1950, is deceased.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and William Righter.
Her sisters are deceased.
She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.
Mrs. Ryan was a member of the United Methodist Church of Gilman.
Ellen Shrimplin
SHELDON -- Ellen E. Shrimplin, 83, of Sheldon, died Tuesday (Aug. 20, 2002) at her home.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Sheldon cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Sheldon EMTs or to the donor's choice.
Knapp Funeral Home, Sheldon, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born March 17, 1919, in Sheldon Township, the daughter of Allen and Weltha Darling Disosway.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas Shrimplin, whom she married
Feb. 16, 1941, in Sheldon; one son and daughter-in-law, Leland and Jackie Shrimplin of Sheldon; one son-in-law, Larry Jones of Sheldon; one sister, Catherine Swanson of Danforth; one stepsister, Zella Hawkes of Sheldon; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Louise Fletcher and Janet Dososway; and one daughter, JoAnn Jones, are deceased.
She was a 1937 graduate of Sheldon High School.
Mrs. Shrimplin was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Sheldon which merged with United Methodist Church of Sheldon.
Robert Hotaling
CRESCENT CITY -- Services for Robert H. Hotaling, 84, of Crescent City, were held Aug. 21 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Crescent City. Rev. Harold Grafe officiated.
Mr. Hotaling died Aug. 18, 2002.
Burial was in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery, Crescent City. Pallbearers were Clint Schaumburg, Dan Devlin, Jason Tammen, Kevin and Tim Dorsey and Jay Morris.
Dorothy Ulrich
RANKIN -- Dorothy M. Ulrich, 86, a former Rankin resident and the sister of a Kankakee resident, died Wednesday (Aug. 21, 2002) at Heartland Health Care, Paxton, where she had been a resident five years.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Sally Meyer will officiate.
Burial will be in Glen cemetery, Paxton.
Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church, Paxton, where she was a member; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Mrs. Ulrich was employed for several years at Paxton Electronics Components.
She was born Jan. 30, 1916, in rural Clarence, the daughter of Oscar T. and Ida C. Swanson Tribbey.
Her husband, Joseph A. Ulrich, whom she married
Oct. 16, 1941, in Watseka, died Oct. 1, 1990.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Jerald Bleich of rural Rankin, Jean and Earl Lackey of Hoopeston; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Donna Ulrich of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Tribbey of rural Paxton, Ralph Tribbey of Kankakee; and one sister, Edythe Moody of Foosland.
One brother, Carl; and one granddaughter, Tara Ulrich, are deceased.
She spent her early years in rural Rankin where she attended the Parker Center School.
Mrs. Ulrich was a member of the Mary Circle of her church.
She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.
Gerane Wilson
WATSEKA -- Gerane L. Wilson, 81, of Watseka, formerly of Stockland, died Monday (Aug. 19, 2002) at her home.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Graveside services will be held at Sugar Creek cemetery. Rev. Eugene Seaman will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
Arrangements are by the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford.
Mrs. Wilson taught high school home economics in Tishamingo, Okla.
She was born July 3, 1921, in Roberts, the daughter of Hershel and Nellie Barnes Robertson.
Surviving are her husband, Corval B. Wilson, whom she married
Jan. 18, 1939, of Watseka; one son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Kaaren Wilson of South Boston, Va.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Corva and Butch Hansen and Carol Wooten, all of Watseka, Clara and Jimmy Marshall of Donovan, Gerane and Harold Grimm of Watseka; one brother, Gill Robertson of Butcherpen, Okla.; and special friends, Jimmy and Ray Hicks and family of Caddo, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
One brother; three sisters; and one grandchild, are deceased.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Stockland Methodist Church, the Royal Neighbors of America, the Rebekah Lodge and the Grand Encampment.
She enjoyed crocheting.

Karen E. Yohnka, 50, of Kankakee, died Wednesday (Aug. 21, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
A candlelight memorial bonfire service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at her home on the river at 2697 River Road in Kankakee.
She donated her body to research.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials out to the Lupus Foundation of America or to the American Red Cross and send them to Tina and Pat Glynn, 147 N. Fulton, Bradley, Ill., 60915.

Ms. Yohnka had been a local real estate broker since 1973. She was associated for many years with Sis Spargur Realtor and then with the Lovell Companies.
She served in many capacities with the local Kankakee County Board of Realtors as director, officer and committee chairperson.
She was very active with the Women's Council of Realtors and also worked with the Illinois Association of Realtors at the state level. She also worked for many years at the Bourbonnais Travel Center. Karen had been retired since 1995 due to a serious heart condition.
She was born Nov. 19, 1951, in Streator, the daughter of Fred and Lillian Allen Sieg. Her mother is deceased.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Tina and Patrick Glynn and Heather Cash, all of Bradley. Tina is currently a student at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy in Downers Grove; one son, Patrick "Adam" Yohnka of Bradley; three grandchildren, Mathew Cash II and Christina Cash of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, and Kyra Norcross of Bradley; her father of Winter Haven, Fla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Larry Maynard of Winter Haven, Fla.; very special friend and ex-husband, Patrick A. Yohnka of Bradley; three nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her grandson, Jacob Yohnka, is deceased.
Ms. Yohnka was a member of Maternity BVM Catholic Church in Bourbonnais.

CHICAGO -- Joseph J. Baikauskas, 50, of Chicago, formerly of Crete, died Saturday (Aug. 24, 2002) at Weiss Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main St.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Liborius Catholic Church, Steger.
Burial will be in Assumption cemetery, Glenwood.
Mr. Baikauskas was a sales manager in the clothing retail business at Rave Corporation.
He was born March 18, 1952 in Chicago Heights.
Surviving are his wife, Susan Baikauskas; one daughter, Cira Baikauskas of Chicago; one son, Ryan Baikauskas of Chicago; his mother, Josephine Baikauskas of Crete; three brothers, Michael Anthony of Oak Park, David Baikauskas of Venus, Texas, Patrick Hieronymous Baikauskas of St. Louis, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His father, Harry Baikauskas, is deceased.
