Marjorie Beyer
DWIGHT -- Marjorie A. Beyer, 76, of Dwight, died Sunday (Aug. 25, 2002) at her home.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dwight, where she was a member. Rev. William Gardner officiated.
Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Dwight.
Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.
Mrs. Beyer had been a dietary manager for the State of Illinois-Dwight Corrections facility. She also owned and operated several businesses with her husband in Dwight.
She was born June 9, 1926, in Streator, the daughter of Omar and Marjorie Kelso Hammen.
Her husband, Donald Beyer, whom she married
Jan. 27, 1945, in Kinsman, died Aug. 21, 2002.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Richard Miles of Victorville, Calif.; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Donna Beyer of Dwight, James and Kristin Beyer of Westminster, Calif.; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Charles Helmig; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Barbara Hammen, James and JoAnne Hammen; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
One son and two daughters are deceased.
Lillian Burleson
ATLANTA -- Lillian Mae Burleson, 79, of Atlanta, and the brother of a Kankakee resident, died Friday (Aug. 23, 2002) at ASTA Healthcare, Bloomington.
Services were held at 10 a.m. today at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta. David Venter officiated.
Burial was in Atlanta cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or to the Parkinson's Foundation.
She was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Varna, the daughter of Jim and Laura Murphy Edwards.
She first married
Alvin "Buck" Gordon.
She later married
Charles Burleson. He died Sept. 25, 1985.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ray Billington of Armington; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Glenn and Ruth Gordon and Jim Gordon, all of Atlanta, Ed Burleson of Heyworth, Mike and Brandie Burleson of Bloomington; one brother, John Edwards of Kankakee; two sisters, Goldie Steward of Heyworth, Helen Marquard of Williamsville; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Terry Burleson and Roger Gordon; one sister; and two brothers, are deceased.
George Crabb
MOMENCE -- George A. Crabb, 70, of Momence, died Sunday (Aug. 25, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence and from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the 10 a.m. services at the First Baptist Church in Momence, where he was a member. Rev. William Steger will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes or to the donor's choice.
Mr. Crabb had worked at Parks Manufacturing in Grant Park; was a plant manager at EMI Molding in Batavia, N.Y. and plant supervisor at J&E; Industrial Molding in Grant Park.
He was born Jan. 23, 1932, in Rock Falls, the son of Charles and Bernice Keller Crabb. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Carol N. Schultz, whom he married
April 21, 1951, in Momence; three daughters and one son-in-law, Diane Wyant of South Carolina, Vicki and Randy Lasater of Bradley, Connie Latham of Momence; one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Diane Crabb of Momence; two sisters, Elsie Bakker of Houston, Texas, Linda Crabb of Rockford; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
Mr. Crabb enjoyed riding motorcycles, listening to country music and watching western movies.
Cherie Gibson
LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Cherie Lynn Gibson, 58, a former Bourbonnais resident and member of HBAK, died July 26, 2002 at Odyssey's Harbor House Hospice in Las Vegas, Nev.
A memorial service was held in Henderson, Nev.

She was born May 19, 1944, in Harvey, the daughter of John and Eileen Gunus. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry L. Gibson Sr. of Henderson, Nev.; one son, Jerry Gibson Jr. of Henderson, Nev.; one daughter, Dana Gibson of Henderson, Nev.; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Judy Unger of Bourbonnais, Clara Lindsay of Country Club Hills and Lois Botma of Munster, Ind.
Wilbur Henrichs
DANFORTH -- Wilbur J. Henrichs, 90, of Danforth, died Sunday (Aug. 25, 2002) at the Gilman Nursing Pavilion.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. services at St. John's Lutheran Church, Danforth. Rev. James Gerth will officiate.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth.
He was born on May 24, 1912, in Danforth, the son of Henry and Ida Wilken Henrichs. He married
Bertha Saathoff on June 30, 1937, in Danforth. She died Aug. 12, 1973.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan (Richard) Schluep of Rocky River, Ohio; a son, Dennis W. (Kay) Henrichs of Bloomington; a sister, Myrtle Henrichs of Danforth; a sister-in-law, Ruth Henrichs of Danforth; four grandchildren, Kristin (Rob) Draye of Mansfield, Ohio; Andrew J. Henrichs of Bloomington, David Schluep of Lakewood, Ohio and Ashleigh Henrichs (Kevin Pratt) of Kenosha, Wis.; and one great-grandchild, Caroline Pratt of Kenosha, Wis.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Elmer and Orval Henrichs and a nephew, Ronald Henrichs.
Mr. Henrichs owned and operated the Danforth Hatchery and Supplies in Danforth for 64 years, prior to his retirement in 2000 at the age of 88. He was a humble, caring man, who loved his family, church and community. He held numerous offices at St. John's Lutheran Church in Danforth, where he was a life-long member. He was Village Clerk of Danforth for over 40 years. His sense of humor was renowned in Iroquois County. His death will be a loss to all who knew and loved him.
Harold Holzhauer
CLIFTON -- Harold E. "Bud" Holzhauer, 79, of Clifton, died Sunday (Aug. 25, 2002) at the Gilman Nursing Pavilion, after a lengthy illness.
There will be no visitation.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Burial will be in the Clifton cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Knapp Funeral Home, Clifton, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Holzhauer was a long-time owner and operator with his late wife, Pauline, of "Bud and Pauline's" Restaurant and Bar in Clifton.
He was born March 1, 1923, in Esman Township, Livingston County, the son of Daniel Jr. and Mary Alveshire Holzhauer.
His wife, the former Pauline L. Burke, whom he married
March 17, 1959, in Pontiac, died July 22, 1999.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Pat Rose of Clifton; two granddaughters, Teri Fidler and Tracy Fidler, both of Clifton; and five great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, George, Ben and Ray Holzhauer; and one sister, Dolores McKinney, are deceased.
Kevin Jacob
CISSNA PARK -- Services for Kevin W. Jacob, 44, of Cissna Park, were held Aug. 23 at Grace Bible Church, Cissna Park. Rev. Bud Pederson officiated.
Mr. Jacob died Aug. 20, 2002.
Burial was in Cissna Park cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian and Todd Jacob, Dale Lithgow, Randy Lutrell, Jay Kaufman and Glenn Raves.
Maria Walthers
Services for Maria Harris Walthers, 37, of Bourbonnais, were held Aug. 22 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Rev. Donna Wagner officiated.
Mrs. Walthers died Aug. 18, 2002.
Burial was in All Saints cemetery, Bourbonnais. Pallbearers were Thomas and Nicholas Patchett, Lori Benoit, Tim Cahan, Brandon Bayston, Mark Wilder and Brian Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Hatch Walthers and Michael Hatch Walthers.
Lorraine Gaydos
PEOTONE -- A funeral Mass for Lorraine M. Gaydos, 77, of Peotone, was celebrated Aug. 24 at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church, Chicago.
Mrs. Gaydos died Aug. 21, 2002.
Burial was in Resurrection cemetery, Justice. Pallbearers were Bob Zoarski, Joe Sichelski, Rich Krisik, Art Seers and Tom Flannery.
Jerry Laurent
WATSEKA -- Jerry H. Laurent, 61, of Watseka, died today (Aug. 26, 2002) at his home.
Arrangements are pending at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home, Watseka.
Coleman Moore
Coleman Calvin Moore, 87, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Kannapolis, N.C., died Sunday (Aug. 25, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Wilkinson Funeral Home, Concord, N.C.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Concord Church of the Nazarene in Concord, N.C. Dr. George Privett and Revs. Aubrey Smith and Harold Davis will officiate.
Burial will be in Concord Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Moore-Knight Scholarship at Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais.
Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moore was a foreman with Cannon Mills Textile Factory for 40 years, retiring in 1982.
He was born Nov. 21, 1914, in Mt. Island, N.C., the son of Alfred and Josephine Sharpe Moore. His parents are deceased.
His wife, the former Mildred Lee Barber, died May 13, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Jim Knight, Marla and Gary Streit, all of Bourbonnais; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Beatrice Fink of Kannapolis, N.C., Lucille and Vernon Dry, Aivonia Hatley, Marge and Richard Voss, all of Concord, N.C., Audrey "Dolly" Kone of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren, Julie and Sean McHugh and their daughter, Allison Elizabeth of Lansing, Mich.; Justin and Bethany Knight of Bourbonnais, and Emily Streit of Nashville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
One brother, Kenneth Moore; and one great-grandson, Anderson James Knight, are deceased.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force serving from 1940-1945 in World War II and a member of the American Legion where he served as chaplain.
Mr. Moore lived in Kannapolis, N.C. his entire life until late 1999, moving to Bourbonnais to be near his children.
He was a very active member of Concord Church of the Nazarene, where he taught Sunday School for many years, was the Sunday School Superintendent, church treasurer, choir director and church board member. He was a strong supporter of his local pastors and provided service to his church both locally and denominational.
He was a member of the YMCA and enjoyed trips to the beach, fishing, traveling and loved to garden.
