Lester Schroeder
Lester H. Schroeder, 91, of Kankakee, formerly of Peotone, died Friday (Aug. 23, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Fedde-Helfrich Chapel in Peotone, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Pat Morton will officiate.
Burial will be in Peotone cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ.
Mr. Schroeder was born Feb. 10, 1911 in Peotone, the son of Henry J. and Frieda M. Lankenau Schroeder.
Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret L. Johnston, whom he married
Dec. 17, 1939 in Wilmington, of Kankakee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Lee Jacobs of Perry, Mich., Jane and Daryl Smith of Wilmington; five granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
One brother, Clarence Schroeder, is deceased.
Mr. Schroeder farmed the land that his father and grandfather had farmed, retiring in 1974.
He was the oldest consecutive member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone, where he served on numerous committees and the Church Council.
In the community he had been active as Will Township School treasurer and was president of the Will County Farm Bureau, a member of the Peotone Farmers Elevator and the Peotone Rural Fire Department.
He was a member of the Will County co-operative, the Peotone Prairie Cardinals Camping Club and the Peotone Kiwanis Club.
Kevin Jacob
CISSNA PARK -- Services for Kevin W. Jacob, 44, of Cissna Park, were held Aug. 23 at Grace Brible Church, Cissna Park. Rev. Bud Pederson officiated.
Mr. Jacob died Aug. 20, 2002.
Burial was in Cissna Park cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian and Todd Jacob, Dale Lithgow, Randy Lutrell, Jay Kaufman and Glenn Raves.
Theodore Potrzebski
Services for Theodore J. Potrzebski Sr., 80, of Bradley, were held Aug. 23 at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Rev. John Antczak officiated.
Mr. Potrzebski died Aug. 21, 2002.
Edward Devine
MANTENO -- A funeral Mass for Edward E. Devine, 81, of Manteno, were held Aug. 14 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kankakee.
Mr. Devine died Aug. 8, 2002.
Burial was in St. Mary & Joseph cemetery in Chebanse. Pallbearers were Les Baker, Mark Doris, David Jensen, Dean Jensen, Bob Morrical and Russ Rosenboom.
James Bailey
BRAIDWOOD -- James W. Bailey, 70, of Braidwood, died Tuesday (Aug. 27, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood.
Patsy Crouse
Visitation for Patsy Lee Crouse, 61, of Bourbonnais, will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Bradley Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elmwood cemetery in Manteno.
Memorials may be made to the family.
She died Tuesday (Aug. 27, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
Mrs. Crouse had been a lineman for General Foods and retired from Quaker Oats. She had also worked at Hogard Business Service.
She was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Garrett, the daughter of Harry and Louise Riley Shaw. Her father died in 1990.
Her husband, Kent "K.C." Crouse, whom she married
in September 1987, died in 1995.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Kelly Anderson of California; two daughters and one son-in-law, Robin and Tim L'Ecuyer of Bradley, Shelly Huddlestun of Bourbonnais; her mother of Bradley; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and John Ellis of Kankakee; eight grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School.
Mrs. Crouse was a member of the Christian faith.
She loved to garden and was a fan of Elvis, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Bulls.
Raymond Faust
MANTENO -- Raymond H. Faust, 89, of Manteno, died Tuesday (Aug. 27, 2002).
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St., South Holland, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
Claude Fulton

HERSCHER -- Visitation for Claude A. Fulton, 91, of Herscher, will be from 4-8 p.m. today, with a 3:30 p.m. wake service at the Herscher Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Herscher, where he was a member. Rev. Ronald Hart will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Kankakee.
Memorials may be made for Masses or to the donor's choice.
He died Monday (Aug. 26, 2002) at the Miller Center in Kankakee.
Mr. Fulton was a retired farmer.
He was born April 20, 1911, in El Paso, Ill., the son of Joseph and Angeline Haas Fulton.
His wife, the former Margaret C. "Sally" O'Neill, whom he married
June 10, 1936, at St. Dominicks Catholic Church in Wyoming, Ill., died Feb. 3, 2000.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Geraldine Fulton of Kankakee, John and Loretta Fulton of Herscher; one daughter, Mary Fulton of Cary, N.C.; one brother, Merle Fulton of El Paso, Ill.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One son, Lyle Fulton; one grandson, Erick Fulton; three brothers, Lyle, Ralph and Rev. Omer Fulton; and three sisters, Veronica Reeves, Alma Lawless and Arelia Bailey, are deceased.
Mr. Fulton was a member of the Kankakee County Farm Bureau.
Kenneth Griggs

MOMENCE -- Kenneth E. Griggs, 83, of Momence, died today (Aug. 28, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. James Ruberg will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Airy cemetery, Momence.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to the donor's choice.
Mr. Griggs was a retired farmer and had been a bus driver for Momence School District for 43 years.
He was born June 18, 1919, in Joliet, the son of Lloyd and Mildred Shoop Griggs.
Surviving are his wife, the former Iris L. Jensen, whom he married
Feb. 25, 1945, in Momence; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Roberta "Bertie" Griggs of Momence; two grandsons, Travis and Christine Griggs and Kenneth Griggs, all of Momence; and one great-grandson.
Gordon Gunderson
GARDNER -- Gordon E. Gunderson, 88, of Gardner, died Tuesday (Aug. 27, 2002) at Morris Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, South Wilmington Chapel.
Margaret Lee,

MOMENCE -- Margaret S. Lee, 95, of Momence, died today (Aug. 28, 2002) at the Miller Center in Kankakee.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Momence cemetery. Rev. Keith GeRue will officiate.
Arrangements are by the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence.
Mrs. Lee was a retired bookkeeper at the Bramlet Lumber Co. in Peoria and had worked for Goodrich Rubber Co. during World War II.
She was born May 2, 1907, in Momence, the daughter of Karl "Charlie" and Christine Andersen Jensen.
Her husband, Jack Lee, whom she married
Sept. 14, 1949, in Chicago, died March 1, 1962.
Surviving are four nieces, Marilyn Peterson, Linda Carter and Mary Newberry, all of Momence, and Janice Elges of Glen Ellyn; and two nephews, Jack O'Brien and Chuck Grady, both of Momence.
Three brothers and three sisters are deceassed.
Mrs. Lee enjoyed traveling and her Danish heritage.
