JOLIET -- Brandi Leigh "Angel" Boyd, 17, of Joliet, and the sister of area residents, died unexpectedly Wednesday (July 10, 2002).
Services were held July 15 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Joliet.
Burial was in Elmhurst cemetery, Joliet.
Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born March 4, 1985, in Joliet, the daughter of William Sr. and Vicki McBride Boyd.
Surviving besides her parents of Joliet are two sisters, Traci Boyd of Joliet, Judith Fisk of Gardner; one brother and sister-in-law, William L. Jr. and Heidi Boyd of Diamond; maternal grandparents, Norman Sr. and Shirley McBride; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and best friends, Maria Guzman and Rachel Petty.
Paternal grandparents, Richard and Edith Boyd, are deceased.
She attended Joliet Central High School.
Miss Boyd enjoyed writing poetry and singing.
Dontey Jackson
Visitation for Dontey DeAngelo Jackson, 15, of Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Kankakee, will be from 8 a.m. Saturday until the 10 a.m. services at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, Bradley. Revs. T.L. Gordon Sr. and Randy Gordon will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory at 12:30 p.m.
A reception will immediately follow at Second Missionary Baptist Church.
Jones Funeral Home, Kankakee, is in charge of arrangements.
He died Thursday (July 11, 2002) at Phoenix Memorial Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz.
He was born Jan. 27, 1987, in Denver, Colo.
Surviving are his parents, Kenneth and Sheila Jackson-Benton of Glendale, Ariz., and Darren Tucker of Kankakee; sisters and brothers, Tynekia Jackson and Izail Gandy of Glendale, Ariz., Ebony and Nia Benton of Chicago, Chevon Benton of Tempe, Ariz., Devon Upton of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandparents, Lizzie Jackson, Bennie Will Taylor and W.C. Tucker, all of Kankakee; aunts and uncles, Rosie Taylor, Eddie Mae Jackson, Lula Brooks, Dianne Taylor, Mary Taylor, Bonnie and Mose Sextion Jr., Gloria Tucker, Regina Tucker, Gail Tucker, Clara Jackson, Jeanette Tucker, Darry and Regina Jackson, Bennie Jackson, Marco Taylor, Keith Tucker, Anthony Jackson, all of Kankakee, Devora and Sam Sykes of Chesapeake, Va., Sylvia Tucker of Loyola; and several cousins, friends and well-wishers.
His grandmother, Annie Tucker, is deceased.
He attended Alhambra High School.
He enjoyed participating in football and basketball. He also enjoyed spending time at the Boys and Girls Club, where he played and helped with coaching the basketball team.
Dorothy Graham
Visitation for Dorothy Ruth Graham, 70, of Kankakee, will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at the Church of God Worship Center in Bradley, where she was a member. Rev. Rick Sexton will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family.
She died Thursday (July 18, 2002) at her home.
Mrs. Graham was a homemaker and also worked with her husband at Graham's Home Furnishings in Kankakee.
She was born March 22, 1932, in John Sevier, Tenn., the daughter of Raymond E. and Sissie L. Williams Berry. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Norman Ray Graham, whom she married
March 23, 1953, of Kankakee; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Iris Graham and their children, Jennifer, Jessica and Melissa Graham of Bonfield, Terry and Janice Graham and their children, Daniel and Lauren Graham of Kankakee, Rev. Scott and Nicky Graham and their children, Miya, Dylan and Little D. Graham of St. Anne; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Rev. Rod Parchman and their children, Joshua, Tabitha, Caleb and Jesse Parchman of Brighton; one sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Jessie Capps of Crystal Lake; and three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Willie and Edith Berry of Mascot, Tenn., Jim and Lynn Berry of Arlington Heights, Bobby and Ann Berry of Hartford, Mich. and Dee Berry of Chicago.
Four sisters, Virgie McCall, Aneda, Wanda and Gloria Lee Berry; one brother, Raymond Berry Jr.; and one grandson, Benjamin Parchman, are deceased.
Mrs. Graham was very involved in her church and enjoyed reading, game shows and the Chicago Cubs.
Elsie Matteson
centenarian dies
DWIGHT -- Elsie H. Matteson, 101, of Heritage Manor, Dwight, formerly of Coal City, died Wednesday (July 10, 2002) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
Graveside services were held July 12 at Sample cemetery in Morris. Rev. Robert Wood officiated.
Mrs. Matteson worked at the Ammunition plant in Wilmington and the Coil Factory in Coal City.
She was born Aug. 24, 1900, in Grundy County, the daughter of Elmer and Jeanette "Dollie" Phillips Connery.
Her husband, Paul J. Matteson, whom she married
in 1921 in Ottawa, died in 1965.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Frances Matteson of Morris; one daughter and son-in-law, Genevieve and James Andreasen of Weirsdale, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Monroe Bennett of Alton; and many nieces and nephews.
Two sons, Gerald J. Matteson, who died in 1990 and Dale Matteson, who died in 1994; one great-grandson, Darren Matteson; two sisters, Lola A. Wharrie and Bernice Ryan; and one brother, Gerald Connery, are deceased.
She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps for many years.
Mrs. Matteson was known for her homemade apple pies.
Phyllis Razzano
WATSEKA -- A funeral Mass for Phyllis E. Razzano, 67, of Watseka, was celebrated July 18 at St. Edmund's Catholic Church, Watseka. Rev. John Balluff officiated.
Mrs. Razzano died July 15, 2002.
Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery, Watseka. Pallbearers were Dana and David Razzano, Doug Geiger, Duane Luehrsen, Bret Beer and Joseph Razzano.
Leslie Hilsenhoff
MANTENO -- Services for Leslie Hilsenhoff, 75, of Manteno, were held July 18 at the Brown Funeral Home, Manteno. REv. Rick Sexton officiated.
Mr. Hilsenhoff died July 15, 2002.
Burial was in Elmwood cemetery, Manteno. Pallbearers were Joseph and John Hilsenhoff, Rod Chesser, Greg Palmateer, Jacob and Noah Reardanz and Lindy and Tony Alo.
Herbert Kraft

DWIGHT -- Herbert W. Kraft, 80, of Dwight, died Wednesday (July 17, 2002) at Heritage Manor.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Dwight, where he was a member. Rev. Daniel Ognoski will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn cemetery, Dwight.
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Kraft was a retired farmer.
He was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Dwight, the son of Rudolph H. and Sophie Hahn Kraft.
Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn Nelson, whom he married
Dec. 9, 1944, in Dwight; one son, James D. Kraft of Dwight; two sisters, Aletha Fuerstenberg of Dwight, Lydell Grunwald of Downers Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
One brother, Rudolph H. Kraft, died in 1992.
He attended high school in Dwight and enjoyed fishing.
Johnnie Zilm
ST. ANNE -- Visitation for Johnnie Mitchell Zilm, 57, of St. Anne, will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Minister John Coney will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Anne Township cemetery.

She died Tuesday (July 16, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
Ms. Zilm had been a home caretaker.
She was born Jan. 19, 1945, in Harlan, Ky., the daughter of Steve and Lena King Owens. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Joe Mitchell Jr. and Daniel Mitchell, both of Gainesboro, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Steveanna and Mark Nutter of Martinton; five sisters, Roxy Carroll of Gainesboro, Tenn., Bertha Blanton of St. Anne, Myrtle Owens of Oneida, Tenn., Hazel Owens and Leathie Owens, both of Indiana; three brothers, Frank Owens of St. Anne, Bill Owens of Illinois and John Owens of Indiana; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and special friends, Merle and Mary Jones of Joliet.
One sister, Cynthia; one brother, Henry; and special friend, Francis Spencer, are deceased.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, horses and crocheting.
Juanita Brouilette-Roach
Juanita Vivian Brouilette-Roach, 82, of Kankakee, died Wednesday (July 17, 2002) at Miller Healthcare Center.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at River Valley Christian Fellowship Church, Bradley, where she was a member.
Memorials may be made to the River Valley Christian Fellowship Building Fund.
Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
She was born May 20, 1920, in Kankakee, the daughter of Paul and Mary Helen Bertrand Thompson.
Her first husband, Robert Brouilette, whom she married
Dec. 24, 1935, died in 1976.
She then married
Reid Roach April 15, 1979. He died April 15, 1990.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Shirley Brouilette of Rockhills, S.C., Gordon and Rhoda Brouilette of Bourbonnais; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ralph Wheeler of Kankakee; two sisters, Darlene Pattneude of Bourbonnais, Betty Spieth of Momence; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Bob Thompson of California, Roger and Sally Thompson of Momence; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One brother, Paul Thompson Jr.; and two brothers-in-law, Herman Pattneude and Charles Spieth, are deceased.
She was an artist and a poet.

Juanita Gilbert, 73, of Bradley, died Thursday (July 18, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.
