MANHATTAN -- Eugene R. Arnstrom, 85, of rural Manhattan, died Wednesday (July 10, 2002) at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday with 7 p.m. Masonic services at the Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wilton Center Federated Church. Rev. Richard Wagner will officiate.
Burial will be in the Wilton Center cemetery, Manhattan. Pallbearers will be Douglas and David McCarty, Ryan and Sean Arnstrom, Richard Pelnarsh and Nicholas J. Honiotes.
Mr. Arnstrom was a retired farmer.
He was born July 27, 1916, in Symerton, the son of Gotfred P. and Eleanor K. Kirk Arnstrom.
His first wife, the former Mae Marie Lawrence, died in 1984
Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Collins, whom he married
July 5, 1986, in Wilton Center; one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Kathleen Arnstrom of New Lenox, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Larry McCarty of Western Springs; three stepdaughters and one step-son-in-law, Deborah and John Honiotes of Morris, Susan Viewig and Tabitha Viewig, both of Romeoville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Arnstrom of Gobles, Mich.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ruth and Raymond Smith of Ritchie and Elizabeth Blatt of Elwood.
One brother, Thomas Arnstrom; and one sister, Margaret Petersen, are deceased.
He was a 50-year member and past master of the Elwood Masonic Lodge 919 AF&AM; and a member of the Royal Arch Chapter 142 of Wilmington.
Ilene L. Clair

CLIFTON -- Ilene L. Clair, 95, of Clifton, an outstanding community volunteer, died Wednesday (July 10, 2002) at Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home, Clifton.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Clifton, and from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. services at the Zion Lutheran Church, Clifton, where she was a member. Rev. William Callister will officiate.
Burial will be in the Clifton cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home, Prairieview Lutheran Home or Zion Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Clair had been a bank teller for 47 years at the First National Bank of Clifton.
She was a volunteer at Prairieview Lutheran Home and was named Volunteer of the Year and Iroquois County Volunteer of the Year, both in 1994. She was also a volunteer for the Clifton Food Pantry and was a reading assistant at the Clifton Grade School.
Mrs. Clair was a foster parent to two children.
She was born June 16, 1907, in Clifton, the daughter of Carl and Sophia Johansen Christensen.
Her husband, Elric Clair, whom she married
Jan. 26, 1934, in Clifton, died Aug. 24, 1984.
Surviving are one daughter, Gayle Clair of Clifton; and one brother, Loyde Christensen of Kankakee.
Six brothers, Wilbur, Garrett, Harry, George, Alvin and Marvin; and two sisters, Nettie Hamende and Lauretta Christensen, are deceased.
She was a member of the Mary Martha Circle at her church; a former treasurer of the church and women's club of her church. She was also a dispatcher for Zone 1 for the Iroquois Senior Citizen van.
Judith Baker
Visitation for Judith J. Baker, 64, of Bradley, will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a 4 p.m. wake service at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, Bourbonnais, where she was a member. Rev. John Peeters will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Baker died Wednesday (July 10, 2002) at Provena Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home, after an extended illness.
She was born June 20, 1938, in Bradley, the daughter of Edmund and Anna Christensen Blanchette. Her parents are deceased.

Oct. 8, 1960, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, of Bradley; one son, Thomas Baker of Bourbonnais; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Charles Jones of Ossining, N.Y.; three sisters, Emily Christensen of New Jersey, Dorothy Reardanz and Pat Morris, both of Kankakee; two brothers, Leon Blanchette of Bourbonnais, Paul Blanchette of Jacksonville, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
Four brothers, Albert, Eugene, Willard and Robert Blanchette, are deceased.
Mrs. Baker was a former employee of Armour Pharmaceutical.
She was a Cubs fan.
Julius Rasmus
PAXTON -- Julius H. Rasmus, 93, a lifelong Paxton farmer and a member of the Ford County Farm Bureau, died Wednesday (July 10, 2002) at Heartland Health Care, Paxton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, and from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. services at the First Lutheran Church, Paxton. Rev. Sally Meyer will officiate.
Burial will be in the Glen cemetery, Paxton.
Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church, Paxton, where he was a member and served on the church council.
He was born June 6, 1909, in rural Paxton, the son of Peter E. and Josephina P. Carlson Rasmus.
Surviving are his wife, the former Matha L. Swanson, whom he married
Feb. 15, 1937, in rural Paxton; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald A. and Jean Rasmus of Paxton; one daughter, Susan E. Rasmus of Radcliff, Ky.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several other relatives.
One sister and two brothers are deceased.
He attended Paxton High School.
Mr. Rasmus farmed his entire life in rural Paxton.
He enjoyed horses and raising livestock.
King Scott

King N. Scott, 81, of Bolivar, Tenn., formerly of Kankakee, died Tuesday (July 9, 2002) in Bolivar, after a long illness.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hardeman County Funeral Home.
Services will be held Saturday at the Antioch Baptist Church, Whiteville, Tenn. Rev. David Boyd will officiate.
Burial will in the Antioch Church cemetery.
Jones Funeral Home, Kankakee, is in charge of local arrangements.
He was born Jan. 10, 1921, the son of William and Mariah Young Scott.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Alvin and Bettye Scott of Kankakee, Charles Scott of Israel; two daughters, Dorothy Jean Scott of Milwaukee, Wis., Louise Murrell of Kankakee; four sisters, Betty Marshall and Louise Herron, both of Kankakee, Nicy Herron of Bolivar, Tenn., Armie Woods of St. Louis, Mo.; and 15 grandchildren.
Two brothers, Arthur Hall and Prince Sain; and two sisters, Idelle Rhodes and Queen Blaylock, are deceased.
He was a World War II veteran.
Mr. Scott was a former employee of Kankakee Roper.
He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Kankakee and the Antioch Baptist Church, Whiteville, Tenn.
Ruth Billingsley
Ruth Ellen Baxter Billingsley, 60, formerly of Watseka, died Tuesday (July 9, 2002).
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland, Des Plaines, and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at St. John's Church in Danforth.
Burial will be in the Danforth cemetery.

She was born Aug. 23, 1941 in Watseka.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Kent and Dena Billingsley, Kory and Laurie Billingsley; one grandchild; one sister, Rheta Bretzman; and best friend, Lynn D'Alberto.
One brother-in-law, Bill Bretzman, is deceased.
Ms. Billingsley was a Bulls fan and enjoyed gardening.
William Walker
DWIGHT -- William Richard "Bill" Walker, 34, of rural Rolla, Mo., formerly of Dwight, died Thursday (July 4, 2002) in rural Rolla.
A memorial service will be from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at the Pontiac Bible Church.

He was born March 7, 1968, in Streator, the son of Rick and Paula Esgar Walker.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elaine Eggenberger, whom he married
March 18, 1988; two sons, Michael and Kyle Walker at home; his parents of Rolla; one sister, Kim Beaty of St. James, Mo.; grandparents, Ardella Harris of Gravois Mills, Mo., Paul Esgar of Morris and Edna Walker of Murphysboro, Tenn.; and nieces and nephews.
Mr. Walker was employed by Don Maggi Construction as a heavy equipment operator. Prior to moving to Rolla, he was employed by Agri-Tile Inc. of Mazon.

Mr. Stephens died Wednesday (July 10, 2002) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was a member of the Onarga United Methodist Church and the church board, the Onarga School Board for many years, the Del Rey Elevator Board, was a Farm Bureau member; and served on the Red Cross Board of Iroquois County.
He was born Feb. 8, 1919, in Buckley, the son of Harry W. and Ethel Poulson Stephens.
His wife, the former Helen E. Berg, whom he married
Aug. 16, 1941, in Claytonville, died Dec. 10, 1997.
Surviving are one daughter, Esther Redden of Villa Grove; one granddaughter, Emily Redden of Villa Grove; one sister, Charleen Campbell of Richmond, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.
