WATSEKA -- Jessie L. Ferdinand, 81, of Watseka, died Saturday (July 6, 2002) at Magnolia Wood Health Care in Watseka.
There will be no services.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Arrangements are by Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
Mrs. Ferdinand was born Aug. 17, 1920 in Loda, the daughter of Elmer and Lula Keller Dale.
Her husband, Walter Ferdinand, whom she married
June 8, 1940, is deceased.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Judy Ferdinand of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carol Ferdinand of Denver, Colo., Cynthia and Gilbert Schleef of Champaign, Paulette and Greg Edwards of Woodland; one brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Thelma Dale of Dayton, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Three sisters; and one grandson, are deceased.
Mrs. Ferdinand was a member of the Watseka VFW Post 7450.
She enjoyed sewing, fishing, arrowheads and quilting.
Joseph Gall
Visitation for Joseph A. Gall Sr., 81, of Kankakee, will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Church.
Inurnment will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Limestone cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church.
Mr. Gall died Friday (July 5, 2002) at Vencor Centra Hospital in Chicago.
He was born Feb. 26, 1921 in Kankakee, the son of William and Felicia Altmyer Gall.
His wife, the former Marcelene Drazy, whom he married
June 23, 1947, died June 18, 2001.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph A. Jr. and Teresita Gall of Limestone, William C. and Joanne Gall of Aroma Park, Mark D. and Bonnie Gall of Kankakee; one sister, Phyllis and Francis Bisping of Kankakee; one sister-in-law, Elsie Gall of Momence; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Two daughters, SheriLynn and Krystyne; one sister, Florence; three brothers, Paul, Daniel and William; one granddaughter, April Lynn Gall; and one great-grandson, Devin Nolan, are deceased.
Mr. Gall was retired from Bradley Roper.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, and the Kankakee VFW.
He enjoyed remodeling older homes, and was a White Sox fan.
Oscar Strode,

Visitation for Oscar H. Strode, 94, of Bourbonnais, will be from 2-5 p.m. today at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, with a 4 p.m. Masonic service and services at 10 a.m. Monday. Rev. Martin Guetzmer will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the CDG Family Network Foundation, or to the Alzheimer's Association.
Mr. Strode died Thursday (July 4, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center. Mr. Strode was head of real estate for Exon for 35 years, retiring in 1970.
He was born Dec. 14, 1907 in Chetopa, Kan., the son of Victor and Rose Etta Hubbell Strode.
His wife, the former Lois Zigrang, whom he married
March 6, 1935 in Alton, is deceased.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Nina Rose and Joe Wakely of Bourbonnais; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
One son, Rodger D. Strode; and two sisters, Beatrice Gade and Beula Yarbough, are deceased.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Kankakee.
He enjoyed golfing.
He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in Kankakee.
Pearl Calvert
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Graveside services for Pearl L. Calvert, 82, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Kankakee, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Calvary Mausoleum. Rev. Charles Wheeler will officiate.
Mrs. Calvert died June 22, 2002.

Perry and Michelle Browder, Glenview, boy, Martin Joshua, June 21 at Lake Forest Hospital, third child. The mother is the former Michelle LeSage. Maternal grandparents are John and Lois Minerick of Kankakee. Paternal grandparents are Patricia Browder of Skokie and James Browder of Des Plaines.
Roger and Stephanie Wolfe, New London, Conn., boy, Stuart Gregory, June 22, first child. Maternal grandparents are Larry and Lou Ann Olson of Morris and Allen and Donna Morris of Coal City. Paternal grandparents are Jerry Seybert of Morris and the late Sherry Seybert. Great-grandparents are Joseph and Edith Fararre of Marseilles, Sharon Morris of Morris and the late Leo Morris, Dorothy Roberts and Arline Black, both of Wauchula, Fla. Great-great-grandmother is Marjorie Hjemvick of Morris.
Roosevelt Lacy, Jr.
NEWARK, N.J. -- Scattering of cremains for Roosevelt Lacy Jr., 45, of Newark, N.J., brother of two Kankakee sisters, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mound Grove Gardens cemetery in Kankakee.
Arrangements are by Lax Mortuary.
Mr. Lacy died May 22, 2002.
Rosemary Violet Morrison
HONOLULU, Hawaii -- Private inurnment services for Rosemary Violet Morrison, of Honolulu, Hawaii, formerly of Kankakee, were held July 3 at the Peotone cemetery. Her son, David Morrison, and daughter, Jane Cordray, led the service.
Arrangements were by the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
Mrs. Morrison died Aug. 20, 2001, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She was born March 6, 1922 in Kankakee, the daughter of William and Theresa Maass.
Her husband, Lt. Warren Henry Morrison, USMC, is deceased.
Surviving are one son, David Morrison of Watertown, Mass.; one daughter, Jane and Michael Cordray of Honolulu, Hawaii; one grandson, Jesse Gault; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Helen Maass, Tom and Mary Maass, and Rodney and Betty Maass, all of Kankakee, Bill and Bea Maass of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Morrison loved traveling and the ocean. She had a caring and compassionate spirit.

LAKE ALFRED, Fla. -- Rudy Zayec, 63, of Lake Alfred, Fla., husband of an area resident, died Monday (July 1, 2002) in Florida.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church in Winter Haven, Fla. Father Barry will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the family's wishes.
Mr. Zayec was born July 30, 1938 in Rijeka, Yugoslavia.
He was an electrical engineer.
Surviving are his wife, the former Frances Johnson, whom he married
May 18, 1995 in Florida, of Lake Alfred, Fla., and Bradley; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Claudia Zayec of Whitelake, Mich.; three stepsons, Steve and Beth Johnson of Clearwater, Fla., Bruce and Beth Johnson, and Jeff and Tami Johnson, all of Bradley; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Jim Lynds of Chadam, Ontario, Canada; three stepdaughters, Chris and Tom Anthony of Kankakee, Jill and Mike Baker of Lafayette, Ind., Julie and Jeff Gindy of Bourbonnais; one sister and brother-in-law, Miranda and Alan Hall of Melbourne, Australia; one brother and sister-in-law, Art and Shirley Sanor of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren; 17 step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He enjoyed music, played the accordian, organ, and harmonica, and enjoyed boating, fishing and golf.

Ruth S. Ayers, 85, of Kankakee, died Saturday (July 6, 2002) at Manorcare Nursing Center.
Visitation will be from 9-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Maternity BVM Church in Bourbonnais.
Stephen S. Morrical
WATSEKA -- Stephen S. Morrical, 27, of Watseka, died Friday (July 5, 2002) at Belleville, following a sudden illness.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, with an 8 p.m. rosary.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edmunds Catholic Church in Watseka. Rev. Lee Ryan will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Watseka.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Stephen was born June 11, 1975 in Watseka, the son of Rolland and Beverly Tanner Morrical.
Surviving are his mother, Beverly Morrical of Washington, Ill.; father, Rolland Morrical of Watseka; one sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Jonathon Osmolski of Wauconda; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Martin of Watseka; one aunt, Marsha and Ron Jacob of Washington, Ill.; and one uncle, David and Ellen Wertz of Bloomington.
Mr. Morrical was a member of St. Edmunds Catholic Church in Watseka.
He was a 1993 graduate of Watseka Community High School, and was on the Dean's List while attending DeVry Institute of Technology.
He enjoyed music and traveling.
Francis Monnette
MANTENO -- A funeral Mass for Francis "Beecher" Monnette Sr., 90, of Manteno, was celebrated July 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manteno. Rev. Edward Grotovsky officiated.
Mr. Monnette died June 29, 2002.
Burial was in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Kankakee. Pallbearers were Frank and Darrell Monnette and Joe Zagata.
E. Ferne Fuoss
THAWVILLE -- Services for E. Ferne Kaeding Fuoss, 89, of Thawville, were held July 3 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Thawville. Rev. Erich Fickel officiated.
Mrs. Fuoss died June 29, 2002.
Burial was in Thawville cemetery. Pallbearers were Stuart, Brian, Jim, David, Jon and Mark Kaeding and Greg and Jacob Best. Honorary pallbearers were Catherine and Judith Schwarz, Denise Pacey, Lori Keitzman, Amy Reed, Shelly Harrell, Julie Fuoss, Melissa Condon, Kathleen Fuoss and Ashley Warlow.
