Doreen M. Chapman
Doreen M. Chapman, 67, of Trevor, WI passed away Friday, April 15, 2005 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center Zion, IL. She was born November 12, 1937 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel (Abbott) Davidson. she had lived in Round Lake Heights for 15 years, then to Mesa, AZ for 9 years moving to Trevor in July of 2004. Doreen enjoyed shopping, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and continued to have a positive outlook no matter of the challenges. While living in Lake County, she worked for Extronics in Gurnee before her retirement. On May 23, 1964 she married Leroy Chapman in Chicago.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy; four sons, Jim (Cathy) of Trevor, WI, Leroy Jr. (Carmen) of Wadsworth, IL, Richard of Trevor, WI and Bob (Nancy) of Ingleside, IL; a sister, Betty Birr of Kansas City, KS; and her 11 grandchildren, Christin, Kimberly, James III, Candy, Jesse, Lindsey, Gregory, Leroy III, Jennifer, Samantha and Heather. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83), Antioch. Interment will follow in Liberty cemetery, Salem, WI. John L. Dobrzenski
John L. Dobrzenski, 43 of Waukegan, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2005 at home.
John was born August 10, 1961 in Waukegan to John and Marilyn Dobrzenski. He was a graduate of Waukegan West High School class of 1979.
He loved to ride his Harley and go fishing at his cabin in Biggsville, Wisconsin, as well as snowmobiling. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was the best Harley mechanic that could be found. He was a mechanic at Mariani Landscaping and previously at Ron and Brian's Suzuki. Friends were always welcome where the beer was always cold.
John is survived by his wife, Jennifer whom he married on April 26, 2000 in Hawaii; his mother, Marilyn; sister, Jody (Jim) Ohlwein; one nephew, James Deadrick; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, John; his paternal grandparents, John and Sylvia Dobrzenski; and maternal grandparents, Louis and Marie Kuznik.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 from 4-8 P.M. at the Salata Funeral Home of Gurnee, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee. Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home with interment to follow at Warren cemetery in Gurnee.

Dominic M. Guido
Dominic M. Guido, 83, of Lindenhurst, IL passed away on Friday, April 15, 2005 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center in Lindenhurst, IL.
He was born in Peoria, IL on July 25, 1921, the son of the late Carmen and Angeline Guido. He was a resident of Lindenhurst for the past 48 years, moving there from Chicago. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army tank division. He was a member and past Commander ('91-'93) of the American Legion Post 771 - Gurnee. He drove a semi-truck for 40 years and was a member and former officer of the Teamsters Union, Local 301. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa, where he ushered at the 9 AM Sunday service for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rose; his daughter, Angela (Jerry) Schmidt of Lawton, OK; and son, Michael (Donna) Guido of Lamar, CO; his grandchildren, Aaron Schmidt, U.S. Air Force, currently stationed in Korea, Michael (Lynn) Guido of Colorado Springs, CO, Tatiana (Justin) Weis of Colorado Springs, CO; and four great grandsons, Nathaniel, Lucas, David and Brandon; a brother; and three sisters also survive. He was preceded in death by his son, Dominic Jr.; and grandson, Justin (Cynthia) Schmidt.

Ronald C. "Robbie" Robertson
Ronald C. "Robbie" Robertson, 75, of Waukegan died on Thursday, April 14, 2005 at home.
He was born May 19, 1929 in Mason, IL, and married Martha C. "Sandy" Duran, December 14, 1977, in Kenosha, WI. Robbie was a federal employee for 35 years; and then worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. He was a proud Mason for 41 years and was a member of the Masonic Scottish Rite (Valley of Chicago); Shrine of Rockford; a former Potentate of Tebala 1994; Court Jester 69; Tebala Motor Patrol; and the Order of the Quetzalcadl. Robbie was also known as "Robo the Clown" in parades. He also was a member of American Legion Post #0281.
Survivors include his wife, Martha "Sandy" Robertson; two sons, Dave Robertson of Rochester, NY and Craig (Julie) Robertson of Chicago, IL; five daughters, Maria Kemp of Indianapolis, IN, Sandra Kemp of Fillmore, IN, Diana Smart of Indianapolis, IN, Judith (Jeff) Henderson of Coatesville, IN and Tammie (Amador) Vasquez of Waukegan, IL; granddaughters, Kelly Robertson, Jamie Henderson, Alexandra Hampson, Angela Hobson; grandsons, Jeffrey Henderson Jr., Elliott Hampson and Donald Bishop Jr.; two great grandchildren; a sister, Janice Dell Resch of Decatur, IL; a nephew, Donnie Resch; and a great nephew, Donovan Resch. Marie Tomal (nee Pospeck)
Marie Tomal (nee Pospeck), 82, a resident of St. Petersburg, Florida since 1985, formerly McHenry, IL, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at home. She was born on February 14, 1923 in Bessemer, Michigan to Stephen and Esther (nee Newman) Pospeck and had been united in marriage to William J. Tomal of July 17 in Chicago, IL. She devoted her life to her husband and family and had enjoyed the activities and travel associated with her husbands position with State Farm Insurance Co., and boating. She was a former member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in McHenry, IL.
Survivors include her children, James Edward Tomal of Rockton, IL and Karen Marie (Lee Bierman) Hill of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Steven James Tomal and Jeffrey Edward (Renee) Tomal both of Hudson, WI, Ryan Vaughn (Amy) Hill of Cary, North Carolina, Treasure Ann Tomal of McHenry and Autumn Ann (Elvis) Lobinsky of McHenry; great grandchildren, Taylor James Phillip Tomal of McHenry, Bailey and Madison Marie Hill of Cary, NC, Meghan Tomal of Hudson, WI and Kevin William Tomal of Hudson, WI and Jerzy Ann Lobinsky of McHenry, IL; and by her daughter-in-law, Holly Tomal of Johnsburg, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her son, William "Phillip" Tomal; her brother, Lawrence Pospeck; and by her parents.

Darinka "Dara" Visnjevac
Darinka "Dara" Visnjevac, 79, of Libertyville, IL passed away Friday, April 15, 2005 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born September 21, 1925 in Besenovo, Serbia in the former Yugoslavia. After living in Trieste, Italy, she came to the United States in 1961, finally making a home in Chicago in 1962. Dana was employed at the Libertyville Manor for 20 years, and enjoyed gardening and needlepoint.
Surviving are her son, Dan Visnjevac of Libertyville; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sekula Visnjevac; and her parents, Smiljana and Sava Niksic.
Funeral Services will be held at Noon Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at The Most Holy Mother of God Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Third Lake. Interment will follow at the Monastery cemetery. Rita Wachowiak (nee O'Connell)
Rita Wachowiak (nee O'Connell) 62, came to this world on October 4, 1942 in London, England and died peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2005, surrounded by her family after a short unexpected illness.
Rita worked at Abbott Labs for 27 years before retiring in May, 2000 to enjoy her many interests including: traveling, fine dining, theatre and lunches with her girlfriends, morning swims at the pool and playing golf.
Rita enjoyed spending time with her grandson Joseph and puttering in her "English Garden" with her pets. She also involved herself in many charities and organizations. Rita was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. Her joy of life and consideration of others will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her son, Michael (Michele) and their son, Joseph; her dearest daughter, Lisa; loving brother, Gerry (Susan) O'Connell and their children James and Fiona; and a host of nieces and nephews in England.
From her marriage with Joseph Wachowiak, her loving family includes Jerry, Lillian and Louise Wachowiak and their respective families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; father, James; mother, Jenny; and brothers, Patrick and Stanley O'Connell.
Friends may call at the SALATA FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, April 18, with wake service at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private in England.

Ann "Mom" Faulkner
Ann "Mom" Faulkner, 80, of Beach Park, died on Friday, August 9, 2002 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home, Zion.
Anna was born December 11, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and came to this area in 1966 when her husband retired from the Army at Ft. Sheridan. She was employed for 20 years in Civil Service at Ft. Sheridan, retiring in 1987.
Survivors include one son Louis (Lena) Faulkner of Lake Villa; two daughters JoAnn "Jody" Correia of Bremerton, Washington and Nancy J. (Don) Williams of Ratcliff, Kentucky; four grandchildren Thomas, Louis and Dawn Faulkner and Stephen Correia; and four great-grandchildren Dakota, Dalton, Tabrea and Ryan Joshua. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas in 1996 and by her parents and two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastor Roger Blanchard, Lakeland Baptist Church, Lake Villa officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the Funeral Home. Memorial donations to either Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society have been requested.

Honorable John George Green, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial for John George Green, Jr., 83, of Mundelein, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at Santa Maria del Popolo Chapel, 116 N. Lake St. (Route 45), Mundelein. Born October 2, 1918, in Evanston, he was born into eternal life on August 13, 2002. Interment will follow the services in Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Mr. Green received his undergraduate degree from DePaul University and his Juris Doctorate from John Marshall School of Law. He was elected Police Magistrate in Mundelein and also served as Circuit Court Magistrate for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit for Lake County. He was appointed Public Administrator for Lake County. Mr. Green served as chairman of the Democratic Party Central Committee of Northern Illinois for a number of years and also as a delegate to the 1964 Democratic National Convention and Electoral College. Mr. Green was a veteran of World War II. He served in the Army achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was stationed in New Guinea where he was in charge of a hospital unit. On the return ship to the United States he took care of released Prisoners of War. During his service he was awarded the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Medal Star, three Overseas Service Bars, one Service Stripe, and the Good Conduct Medal. A highlight of his legal career was his pro bono work. This included legal work for the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration located in Libertyville; St. Mary of the Lake Seminary and Santa Maria del Popolo Parish in Mundelein. In addition to his legal career, he was active in numerous philanthropic organizations, including the Lions Club of Mundelein, the Holy Name and St. Vincent de Paul societies, and the Catholic order of Foresters for which he received a fifty-year pin. He also served on the board of Directors of Condell Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his children John G. (Carol) Green III, Therese M. Green, Beatrice V. (Jeffery) Hahn, Barbara Ann (Michael) Sieman, Joseph B. Green, Richard P. (Susan) Green, Thomas E. (Catherine) Green, Robert J. Green, Michael G. Green, and David M. Green; sister Helen Briscoe; brothers Edward, William, Donald, Kenneth and Gerald; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Therese Elizabeth Harrison, his daughter Mary, his parents, John and Margaret Green of Rogers Park, and his brother Richard. Mr. Green specifically requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers, he would rather contributions be made to the Benedictine Sister of Chicago, c/o St. Scholastica Monastery, 7430 N. Helen B. Gulbis/Rune
Helen B. Gulbis/Rune, 83, of Winthrop Harbor died on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at Victory Lakes Health Services, Lindenhurst, Illinois.
Helen was born January 20, 1919 in Chicago and moved to Winthrop Harbor in 1949. Previously she had worked for the Zion Nursing Home at the old Hotel building and was a member of the Swedish Glee Club and Zion-Benton Moose. Lately she had belonged to both the Allemand and the Swingin' Swedes Square Dance Clubs and was an active participant in Victory Lakes activities.
Survivors include children Paul (Barbara) Gulbis of Madison, Alabama, Jane Gulbis Herbek of Wadsworth and Mark (Diane) Rune of Winthrop Harbor; seven grandchildren Kent and Kevin Gulbis, Kristie Williams, Erik Cook, Dan Herbek and Michelle and Luke Rune. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Rune, by one daughter Peggy Rune Cook and by her father and mother Henry and Bertha Klopman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Pastor Gary Hougen of the United Methodist Church of Winthrop Harbor officiating. Bernice Helbert (nee Cyganiak) Born to eternal life August 12, 2002 at the age of 80 years. Of Libertyville, IL formerly of Waukegan, born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. Beloved wife of Ray. Dear mother of Gregory (Cindy), Helen A., John R. and Monica Mae. Grandmother of Brian, Bradley, Cassandra and Cara. Sister of the late Raymond (Frances) Cyganiak, the late Albin (Veronica) Cyganiak, Eugene (Virginia) Cyganiak, Regina (Stanley) Zylka and Theresa (Ray) Markowski. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Friday, at 9:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home. Services at 9:30 a.m. at the BASILICA OF ST. JOSAPHAT, (S. 6th & W. Wayne R. Olsen, Sr.
Wayne R. Olsen, Sr., 59 years old of Twin Lakes, WI formerly of Antioch, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, Zion, IL. He was born September 10, 1942 in Chicago the son of Wendell and Phylis (Oppenhagen) Olsen. Wayne owned and operated Olsen's Pine Lodge Resort on Petite Lake in Antioch for the past 35 years and had recently moved to Twin Lakes after his retirement last year. He was very devoted to his family. On December 1, 1961 he married Marlene Trout in Chicago.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene; five children, Wayne Jr. of Trevor, WI, Debra (James) Foerster of Antioch, Cindy (Russ) Schaller of Lindenhurst, Marlene (Eric) Higgins of Antioch, and Lisa Olsen (Greg Gunther) of Lindenhurst; his mother, Phylis Olsen of Twin Lakes, WI; eight grandchildren and one brother, John (Linda) Olsen of Bensenville, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Olsen and one brother, Loren.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2002 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte 83). Robert T. Plonien
Robert T. Plonien, 80, of Humboldt, TN passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at his home. He was born, reared and educated in Waukegan and spent most of his life there, and was the son of the late Englebert and Beatrice Witham Plonien. During WWII, he served with the Army Air Force in Europe, and was a retired employee of V.R. Wesson Corp. in Waukegan following 45 years of service. Mr. Plonien was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Humboldt and Royal Arcanum Lodge 1086 in Waukegan.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Bettie Hensley of Humboldt and Jean Messer of Brookville, MS; a brother, Englebert Plonien of Arlington, TX, a sister, Betty Pederson of Glostrup, Denmark; and 6 grandchildren, including Paul Hensley of Humboldt and 5 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews in the Lake County area.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Teressa Moore Plonien in 1998 and also by his brother, Milton Plonien and 4 sisters, Florence Clark, Charlotte Plonien, Edith Haberski and Dorothy Brown.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 17, 2002 at PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan, with Rec. Harlene Harden, assoicate pastor of First Unite Methodist Church of Waukegan officiating. Interment will be at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago. Laurence A. "Pat" Ryan, Jr.
Laurence A. "Pat" Ryan, Jr., 52 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Monday, August 12, 2002 at the Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford, IL, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. He was born May 30, 1950 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Laurence and Ellen (MacKenzie) Ryan and had been a life long resident of Antioch. Pat was a retired partner of Lyons and Ryan Ford in Antioch. He was a former member of the Antioch Lions Club, loved his Harley motorcycle and to travel, loved his horses and at one time to show dogs.
Survivors include a daughter Tara (David) Sala, two sons, Patrick and Michael all of Antioch, his granddaughter Paige, 2 sisters, Kathy Williams of Grayslake, IL and Connie (Charles) Watkins of Lake Villa, IL.
Funeral Services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 16, 2002 at St. Peter Church, 557 Lake St., Antioch. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel cemetery, Antioch. Ted P. Staranowicz
Ted P. Staranowicz, 91, of Clearwater, Florida, died August 10, 2002 in Dunedin, Florida. Born in North Chicago, Illinois, he moved to Florida in 1964 from Lake Bluff. Mr. Staranowicz was a salesman with U.S. Homes and graduated from DePaul University with a law degree. He served in the United States Navy during World War I; was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dunedin, Florida; and the Clearwater (FL) Turner-Brandon American Legion Post.
Surviving family includes his wife of sixty six years, Mary E. Pojedinka Staranowicz; son and his wife Fred and Ann Staranowicz, Lake Bluff; granddaughter Susan Marshall, Austin, Texas.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements by CURLEW HILLS FUNERAL HOME, Palm Harbor, Florida (727-789-2000).

Paul R. White
Paul "Butchie" White passed on Tuesday, August 13th, 2002 in San Diego, California visiting his sister Vivian. He was born in Waukegan, IL on October 17th, 1950 to Otis and Johnnie White.
He is survived by his wife Maureen. They were united in marriage June 5th, 1972 in Waukegan, IL. He leaves a loving daughter Pam and granddaughter Rhani Jordan, the light of his life.
He is retired after 24 years of service from North Shore Gas Company and spent his last few years doing what he loved, fishing with his partner and brother-in-law Ben.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and just recently by his older brother Otis.
Paul was a member of Trinity AME Church in Waukegan.
He leaves behind his sisters: Barbara (Allen) Gordon of Zion, IL, Vivian (Herbert) Sesley of San Diego, California, Patricia (Frank) Warren of Evanston, IL and Vanessa (Ben) Perrin of Zion, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
The wake will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 19th at Trinity AME Church, 210 South Ave., Waukegan, IL. Funeral services and burial to follow. The eulogy will be delivered by the Reverend Reginald Blount. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to WESTGATE FUNERAL HOME, Waukegan, IL. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park, 33100 N. Hunt Club Road in Libertyville.

Rosella McKethen Drips, 84, a former resident of Heather Ridge in Gurnee, passed away suddenly August 9, 2004 at the Lake Forest Hospital. She was born November 9, 1919 in Phippsburg, CO, was a graduate of St. Mary's Hospital Nursing School in Rochester, MN and served as a registered nurse at the Mayo Clinic. Her late husband was a Medical Doctor in the U.S. Navy, and for 35 years, the family traveled to many duty stations across the country. She was a former member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Gurnee and a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville. Rose served the church for many years with various liturgical ministries and retreats and was an eucharistic minister. She was also an active member of AA, helping others for 45 years.
Surviving are five daughters, Sandra (Charles) Likus of Libertyville, Suzanne (James Legner of Soldatna, AK, Kathryne (Larry) Starzec of Grayslake, Pamela (the late Michael) Balmes of Gurnee and Robin (Peter) Balmes of North Chicago; 16 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Joe (Sammie) McKethen of Riverton, WY; and a sister, Joan Ozbirn of Cody, WY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth McKethen; her husband, Capt Robert C. Drips, M.D. on January 23, 2002; her granddaughter, Melissa Starzac; and brother, Buddy McKethen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Thursday, August 12, 2004 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 910 14th St., North Chicago with the Rev. Fr. James E. Merold officiating. Entombment will follow at Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176), Libertyville and for one hour prior to Mass at the church. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Info: 847-362-3009.
