Dennis V.C. Hawks
Dennis V.C. Hawks, 63 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Monday, August 10, 2004 at his home. He was born November 7, 1940 in Chicago, the son of the late Vincent and Alice (Woda) Hawks, moving to Antioch in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army, was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operators Union #150 of McHenry, IL. Dennis loved hunting and fishing. On June 28, 2002 he married
Diana Andrews in Waukegan, IL.
Survivors are his wife Diana, two sons, Robert (Jessica) Hawks of Ingleside, IL and William Hawks of Round Lake, IL, six grandchildren, Brandon, Cody, Nathan, Chloe, Krystal and Riley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Hawks.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2004 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83). Interment will be in Mt. Carmel cemetery, Antioch. Margaret Hinkle
Margaret Hinkle, 76, of Zion died on Monday, August 9, 2004 at home following a long illness. Margaret was born November 5, 1927 in Mississippi and came to Zion in the early 1950's. She retired from Midwest Molding in Gurnee in 1978 and later retired from American Air Filter in Zion in 1990. She was also an avid seamstress and quilter.
Survivors include her children, Billie (Paul) Ohnemus of Zion, Larry (Tami) Hinkle of Zion and Tina (Marko) Mavec of Winthrop Harbor; seven grandchildren, Shannon Petree, Andrea Filip, Maxwell Mavec, Mitchell Mavec, Mickey Hinkle, Danielle Ruiz and James Hinkle; two great grandchildren, Christopher and Catlin Petree; two sisters,Yvonne (John) Hathcock of Amory, Mississippi and Wanda (Ed) Irby of Shannon, Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, James Hinkle in 1971; a grandson, James Stanton in 1998; a son-in-law, Christopher Stanton; two sisters, Eva Copelin and Loyce Ramage; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 10:30 AM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastor Paul Gerardy of Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Friday, August 13th from 5 to 8 PM at the Congdon Funeral home. Rudolph L. Jereb
Rudolph L. Jereb, age 75, of Waukegan, died August 9, 2004 in Zion. He was born December 15, 1928.
He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was active in Boy Scouts and Eagle Scouts. He retired from U.S. Steel and Abbott Labs.
He is survived by his aunt, Elizabeth Jereb, cousins, relatives, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; a son, Michael; his parents, Frank and Stephanie Jereb.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14 at 12 Noon at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan with visitation from 11 AM until the hour of service at Noon. Burial at Northshore Garden of Memories at a later date.

Jane-Anne Monaco (nee Fromme)
Jane-Anne Monaco (nee Fromme), 53, of Waukegan passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was born February 20, 1951 in Urbana, IL. She was raised in Waukegan and spent most of her adult life in Waukegan and Chicago. She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church. She had worked at the Chicago Tribune, also in the advertising business and had been a secretary at a Chicago law firm. She had devoted the last years of her life to raising her son.
Jane-Anne is survived by her son, Monte Monaco of Waukegan and her brother, Barrie Fromme also of Waukegan; and her niece, Ellyn Fromme of VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Vivian (nee Seidler) Fromme.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2004 at PETERSON AND PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Richard Morones
Richard Morones, 52, of Gurnee, passed away Monday, August 9, 2004. He was born January 5, 1952 in Japan.
Richard was a Soccer Coach and mentor for his son and the boys involved with the Greater Libertyville Soccer Association. He had a love and passion not only for Soccer, but for all sports activities.
Richard was the beloved husband of Sonia, loving father of Stefani and Alex, son of Phillip Morones and Kanko Lescher, dear brother of Mario (Paula) Morones, Mark (Kristi) Morones and Robert (Stephanie) Morones. He also will be remembered by his loving aunts, Dolores Morones, Catalina Garza and dear uncles, Charles Morones and Louis Morones, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and Great Friends and neighbors. He will also be greatly missed by his co-workers at WW Grainger.

Charlie (Chuck) Phlegm, Jr.
Charlie Phlegm, Jr. was born on August 16, 1926 in Coldspring, TX to the late Reverend Charlie Phlegm, Sr. and Ida Mae Lampkin Phlegm.
Chuck served in the U.S. Army during World War II, Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. He was discharged from Fort Sheridan, Illinois. He retired after 20 years, from Fiat Allis in Deerfield, IL.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Nancy, devoted wife of over 20 years; two sisters, Sarah (Vernon) Carr, Mary Butler, both of Houston, TX; three step-children, Raymond DePriest, Jerry DePriest of Illinois, and Letitia (Leon) DePriest Frazier of Kansas City, KS; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Chuck departed this life at home on August 10th, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14 at the Christian Valley Baptist Church, 2690 Argonne Drive, North Chicago, IL. Reverend Henry Woods, Sr., officiating. Louis J. Swoboda
Louis J. Swoboda, 86, of Lindenhurst, IL passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center in Lindenhurst, IL.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 21, 1917, the son of the late Louis Sr. and Anna (Nee Huegle) Swoboda. He was a resident of Lindenhurst since 1956. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. During the war he participated in the Normandy landing and then went on to serve in the occupation force in Europe. He was a member of the Lindenhurst VFW Post 4894. HE was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa, where he served as an usher for many years. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Knights of Columbus- Council 12314. He retired from Ammco Tools Inc. after 25 years of service. On June 29, 1946, he married
Ruby Coney. She passed away in 1997.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie (Jay) Bruski of Antioch, IL; his grandchildren, James L. (Dawn) Bruski, Robin (Tony) VanSickle and Christina Bruski; his great grandchildren, Darin and Zachary Bruski, and Thomas VanSickle; his brother, Robert (Mildred) Swoboda of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby and his sisters, Elizabeth and Gerradine.

Janet R. Thompson, 70, of Waukegan passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at Terrace North. She was born April 10, 1934 in Waukegan, IL. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and a member of the Women of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
Survived by a sister, Beverly (Burt) Boers; a niece, Sally (David) Sorce; a nephew, Brian (Tiffany) Boers; an uncle, Orville Maki; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Thompson.

Morris D. Meeke
Born Oct. 14,1937 succumbed to cancer on Aug. 2, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his son David R. Meeke in June of 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Meeke; his children, Curtis, Craig,Troy, Mindy, Aaron, Kathy; his 10 grandchildren, Amber, Megan, Mandi, Lacey, Miranda, Zachary, Kyle, Cole, Carson and Zoe.
He was a wonderful husband and father and a loving grandfather. He will be missed greatly by everyone.
Michele Adams
Michele Adams of Chicago passed away suddenly Tuesday, August 8, 2006. Formerly lived in Waukegan.
She is survived by her three children, Brittany Adams, Amber Adams & Cassidy Adams; and one grandson, Jayden Adams. Also survived by her parents, William E. Adams and Andrea Adams; and one sister, Jeanette Adams.

Thomas Michael Vogl
Thomas Michael Vogl, 62, of Grayslake, IL. Beloved husband and father, passed away August 10, 2006 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Janesville, WI, March 6, 1944 to Frank and Mary Mae Vogl who preceded him in death. He retired after 25 years serving as the director of the Medical Imaging Program at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL. While there he helped many students realize their dreams.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (nee Reilly) Vogl; three daughters, Julie (James) Gallina, Michelle (Timothy) Miller, and Angela (Mitchell) Hameister; three grandchildren, Katelyn, Christofer and Emma Miller; two brothers, Scott Vogl, Frank (Patricia) Vogl.
He was loved and admired by many. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and students.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 13th 5-8pm at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 14th at 10am at the church. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville, IL.

Evie MacPerry
Mother Evie MacPerry was born September 8, 1923 to the union of the late Elim and Agnes Poole Sr. of Greenville, Alabama.
She was the second of four children and the last surviving. She moved from Alabama to Illinois, where she met and married
Columbus C. Perry Jr.
Mother Perry was employed by the Veterans Administration Great Lakes Hospital in North Chicago. She retired after 20 years of service.
Mother Perry accepted Christ and became a member of First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in North Chicago, IL. Later she moved her membership to join Praise Temple Apostolic Church under the Pastorate of the late Dist. Elder Larry Cornelius. Later she moved her membership to Jesus Name Apostolic Church in Waukegan Illinois, under the Pastorate of Dist. John I. Coples. She worshiped and praised the Lord Jesus until the Lord called her home.
Mother Perry was an active member of the Seniors on the Move Ministries. She was well respected and was instrumental in giving good advice. She was well known by many.
Mother Perry leaves to cherish her memory, her dear children, Reba (Albert) Coney of Waukegan, IL and their four children, Boris, Venecia, Jamell and Jamina; Veronica Perry (Richard) of Waukegan and their three children, Terrance, Shavon and Sharon of Waukegan, IL; Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Hodge and their two children, Tikiya Carter of North Chicago, IL and Deacon Samuel C. Perry (Tubin), her only son and their two children, Jeffery and Desiree of North Chicago, IL. Mother Perry leaves to cherish three sisters-in-law, Katie, Dat and Viola; ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of favorite and special friends, nieces and nephews, especially Sis D. Roach, and the Side-Back-Row (you know who you are). She also leaves to cherish Lillian, Thelma and Mertis, with love, God Bless.

Minnie Lucille Cuuningham
Minnie Lucille Cunningham, 80, of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away Friday, August 4, 2006. She was the daughter of the late William E and Minnie L (Caldwell) Cunningham.
Ms Cunningham attended the Waukegan Public Schools and was a graduate of Wilberforce University, Dayton, Ohio. She also was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Ms Cunningham was a member of Trinity AME Church and served in many capacities including being a Sunday School teacher and Trustee.
Minnie worked and retired from the Navy Regional Finance Center, Great Lakes Illinois after 30 years of service.
Ms Cunningham was proprietor of Crystal Critique, teaching etiquette.
Survivors include a brother, Robert (Tillie) Cunningham, nieces and nephews, Paula, Stephanie, Terry, Dellena, Bobby, Billy, Sandy, Janice, John; sister-in-law Dorothy, God child Betty Fisher; numerous great nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Aaron, and William Cunningham, Ruth King and sister- in-law Wilma Cunningham.

Bessie S. McClure
Bessie S. McClure, 93 of Lindenhurst, IL, formerly of Waukegan passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center.
She was born November 1, 1912 in Lake Forest, IL, and had been employed in the classified advertising department at the Waukegan News-Sun from 1950 to 1977.
Bess was considered by Waukegan Firefighters as their adopted grandmother and had been a friend of the fire department for over two decades after a family emergency brought her into contact with the department. For over two decades, Bess would send firefighters birthday cards and anniversary cards every year. Two years ago the department names the Rescue 3 ambulance stationed at the Lewis Avenue Station after her.
More recently, Local 473 of the International Association of Firefighters dedicated a scholarship program in her name which donates money to dependents of Local 473 members.
Bess is survived by one niece, Suzanne Walkup of Kendallville, Indiana, and one nephew, Robert S. (Holly) Bell Jr. of Glenview, IL; brother-in-law, Herbert (Dorothy) McClure of Gurnee as well as several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, A.G. Nelson on March 6, 1961; her second husband, George A. McClure on March 6, 1984; sister, Elizabeth H. Bell November 30, 1933; and one brother,, Steve G. Kostial November 11, 1960.
Funeral Services will be held at the Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 14, 2006 with Rev. Richard Mosley of the First Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Warren cemetery in Gurnee.
Friends may call at the Salata Gurnee Funeral Home from 3-7 pm on Sunday and 10-11 am on Monday.
