Infant Blake Matthew Petersen passed away Monday August 7, 2006 at the Aurora Woman's Pavilion of West Allis, WI. He was born on July 26, 2006.
He is the son of Troy and Amy (Mieszanek) Petersen of Twin Lakes, WI; and also survived by his brother, Joseph "Joey".

Thomas Allen Hawkins
On November 9, 1931 in Florence, Alabama, Thomas Allen Hawkins was born to Major and Lena Hawkins. God smiled on his life Tuesday, August 2, 2006 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL., calling his servant home.
Thomas confessed Christ at an early age, joining Community Methodist Church in his hometown of Florence. After moving to Waukegan, IL, he joined Shiloh Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member for several years.
Thomas was a graduate of Burrell Slater High School, where he displayed a love for sports. He was captain of the school's football team and he excelled in other sports that included basketball, track and tennis. Shortly after graduation from high school, he joined the U. S. Marines, fighting in the Korean War. He was proud to be a marine.
Upon completion of his military tour, Thomas moved to Waukegan and worked as a welder for 40 years at American Motors/Daimler Chrysler. He had a tenacity for hard work, education and discipline.
He leaves to cherish his memory a very special and loving friend, Rosie Phillips of North Chicago, IL.; a son, Todd Sims of Waukegan, IL; a loving sister, Bettye Jean Hawkins of Waukegan, IL; six grandchildren, Patrice, Michelle, Anthony, Juwan, Montee and Jeremiah Sims all of Waukegan, IL.; three stepchildren, Marilyn "Sput" (Charles) Wallace; Jill (James) Figgins and Linda Sims; their mother, Arnita Hawkins of Waukegan, IL; three nieces, DeVon and Angela Nelson and Inge Foxie of Waukegan, IL; two nephews, Zachary Nelson of Waukegan, IL and Voltaire Hawkins of Chicago, IL; and several cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Major and Lena Hawkins; his beautiful sister, Lena Foxie; and his stepson, Ralph Sims.
Visitation will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 800 South Genesee St., Waukegan, IL on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Services will follow at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, Illinois. Pastor Walstone E. Francis officiating. Rebecca (Parker) Buchanan
Rebecca (Parker) Buchanan, age 77, of Kenosha, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at United Hospital Systems KMCC.
Born on April 2, 1927 in Burdette, AR, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Arree (Branch) Parker. She was educated in Arkansas, coming to Kenosha in the late 1960's. She was a food service worker at Great Lakes Naval Base, retiring after 32 years. She was a former member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons, Johnny Buchanan Jr. and Robert Buchanan both of Kenosha; three daughters, Dezzie Coleman of Waukegan, IL, Cupid Lakes Los Angeles, CA, and Sharon (Dennis) Noel of Indianapolis, IN; four brothers, Samuel (Gussie) Parker Sr. of North Chicago, Joseph (Vera) Parker of Chicago, John (Bessie) Parker of Wichita Falls, TX, and William (Valerie) Parker of Texas; three sisters, Mary Parker of Kenosha, Neomia (Aron) Varnell of Kenosha, and Irene Long of Lilbourn, MO; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Parker; a son, Waymon Buchanan; five sisters, Lonzetta Johnson, Lucille Parker, Corene Parker, Dezzie Parker, Pinkie Evans; two brothers, David and Charlie Parker; and one great-granddaughter, Cupid Parker.
Funeral services for will be held on Saturday, August 7th at 12:00 noon at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Gregory David Colbert, Sr.
Gregory David Colbert, Sr. was born to Swing and Ella Colbert on May 18, 1951 in Waukegan, IL.
Gregory confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Roosevelt Tart. He was raised in Zion, IL and attended Zion Benton High School. After graduation he joined the U.S. Marines in 1969. He served in Vietnam two years defending his country and received an honorable discharge.
Upon his honorable discharge from the service he worked at Great Lakes Naval Station. He was very active in sports and loved to work with computers.
Later in Gregory's life he established a relationship with Christ under the leadership of the late Elder Nicodemus Givens, Happy Day, COGIC.
He leaves to cherish his memory; four sons, Everett, Nicholas (Tenae), Gregory and Sohail; four daughters, Lisa (Jamie), Vaughn of Norfolk, VA, India, Frances (Robert) Bradshaw and Sophia; five grandsons, Eric, Jalynn, Jalyll, Kyle and Jordan; four granddaughters, Nadia, Mariah, Lovely and Kamory; sister, Deborah (Larry) Carroll; brother, Brian (Yolanda) Colbert of Waukegan, IL; aunts, Betty Colbert of Oakland, CA and Frederika Meeks of Waukegan, IL; special friends, Eugene Graves, Dennis Burns, Tyronne Harper, Charles Pryor and Eddie Campbell; and a host of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Swing and Ella Colbert; ex-wife, Claudia Colbert; son, Gregory Jr. (Gumpy) Colbert and niece, Tra Nia D. Gordon.

Charles M. C. Fletcher
The Vigil Service for Mr. Charles Morris Cox Fletcher, 76, of North Augusta, SC, who died August 5, 2004 will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 PM from the STEPHEN D. POSEY FUNERAL HOME, with Father C. Alexander McDonald officiating. Interment in the National cemetery, Beaufort, SC, Monday morning at 11 AM with Military Honors.
Mr. Fletcher was a native of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, having made North Augusta his home for the past 19 years. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Dorothy Fletcher and a retired Police Officer. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Fletcher was a member of the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post #71, the Forty and Eight Voiture #1177, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3200, Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corp League, 187 ARCT Rakkasan and the Combat Jumpers Association of the World.
Survivors include four sons, Michael Wescott Fletcher of Alpharetta, GA, Charles Matthew Fletcher of North Augusta, GA, John William Fletcher of Augusta, GA and James Steven Fletcher of Decatur, GA; two daughters, Susan Louise Richardson of LaPorte, IN and Mary Jo Payan of Tinley Park, IL; two sisters, Amy Foster of Lake Bluff, IL and Nancy Elliott of Destin FL; and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the Vigil Service until 5 PM.

Mary A. Patt (nee St. George)
Mary A. Patt (nee St. George), 79, of Zion and Waukegan went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion. Mary was born August 19, 1924 in Duluth, Minnesota. Aline, or "Grandma" as she was so fondly known as, loved music, art and her family. Growing up in Duluth she learned piano from her mother who was a concert pianist. She sang before she could walk and from the age of two or three, she was always drawing something. She was married
to James Patt at the age of 19 and out of their union came nine children. During her life she managed to become an accomplished musician, artist and mother.
As a musician she had several shows on radio in Duluth, was a member of the Waukegan Musicians Union and performed at various locations. As an artist she loved doing portraits and nature. jointly opened an art gallery in North St. Paul, Minnesota with her son-in-law, the late Harold Bjostad, moving back to Waukegan in 1980. She was best known, however, for her smile and love of the word of God, always spreading both to others.
Survivors include her children, Mary Bjostad of St. Paul, MN, Patrice (Paul) Sinclair of Fridley, MN, Cathy (Steven) Lane of Elgin, IL, James (Louise) Patt of Beach Park, IL, Anthonette (Nicholas) Baartz of Zion, Thomas (Carol) Patt of Waukegan, Danielle Smith of Winthrop Harbor and Daniel (Margaret) Patt of Kenosha, WI; 15 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Edward and Alma St. George; a brother, Edward St. George; and by an infant child.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 1 PM at Grace Life Church, 1203 Glen Flora Avenue, Waukegan with Pastor Robert Rhyne officiating. Dr. Mark R. Souza
Dr. Mark R. Souza, M.D., 51, of Steilacoom, WA, passed away suddenly at his home on June 1, 2004. He was born in Waukegan, IL son of the late William and Alice Souza. He was loved and will be missed by many friends made in his life's journeys.
Formerly of Gurnee, IL and Des Moines, IA. Mark was an avid outdoorsman and a member of The Mountaineers. He enjoyed music and played in various bands and "jam" sessions with friends. He enjoyed photography and cooking, often baking treats for the office staff at the hospital. Active in Scouting as a youth, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
Mark, a graduate of Rush Medical School, specialized in Psychiatric Medicine. He took great pleasure in assisting veterans at the V.A. hospital in Tomah, WI and Steilacoom, WA. He was a member of the A.M.A. and the A.P.A.
Mark is survived by loving brothers Bill (Connie), Bob (Ann) and sister Patricia Jolly; nieces and nephews: Jaime, Wade, Joe, Jay, Christin and Alicia. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, William and Alice Souza.
Visitation will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church in Gurnee, IL at 10am on August 7, 2004, followed by a memorial service at 11am. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial gifts may be made in Mark's name to the National Mental Health Association.
Donald Lee Wedell
Donald Lee Wedell, 57, of Kenosha and formerly of Waukegan, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at St. Therese Medical Center. He was born February 7, 1947 in St. Paul, MN and had been an area resident for most of his life.
He had served in the U.S. Navy.
Donald is survived by his mother and step father, Earline "Pat" (Richard) Mohrmann of Park City; brothers and sisters, Michael (Kim) Wedell of Mequon, WI, Cynthia alters of Park City, James Mohrmann of Park City, Brian (Cindy) Mohrmann of Gurnee, Heidi (James) Kazin of Acworth, GA, Jill (Rev. Steve) Massey of Chicago, Thomas Wedell of Pensacola, FL and Heather Mohrmann of Park City; also by seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Laverne Wedell; grandmother, Gertrude Wedell; brother, Robert Bruce Wedell and his step mother, Marilyn Wedell.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2004 in the chapel at Highland Memorial Park, Belvidere Rd. and Hunt Club Rd. Libertyville, IL. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.

Lonnie Lee Lund
Lonnie Lee Lund, 63, of Beach Park, IL and formerly of Chicago, died on Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at the Pavilion of Waukegan Nursing Home in Waukegan.
He was born September 19, 1940, in Evanston, Illinois to the late Stanley S. and Esther Lund and was a 1958 graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School. Lonnie was baptized at the Grace Missionary Church in Zion in 1959. He was self-employed. Lonnie enjoyed golf, tennis, basketball and bowling.
Survivors include one son, Randy (Tina) Lund; and four daughters, Linette (Angelo) Ribando, Robin (Rob) Bunner, Laura (Rick) Ruckebeil and Renee (Jeff) Schaumberg; fourteen grandchildren, Jeremy, Valerie, Lindsey, Carlie, Landon, Ashley B., Tricia, Matthew, Nicholas, Serenity, Ashley M., River, Jeffrey and Andrew. Also surviving are a brother, S. Thomas (Jean) Lund of Sebring, Florida; a nephew, Chad Lund; and cousins, Ruth (Jack) Serdar and Naomi (Rodney) Friedrich.

John J. "Putts" Nedelka
John J. "Putts" Nedelka, 82, of Sequim, Washington and formerly of North Chicago, Illinois died Saturday, July 31, 2004 from complications following a stroke.
He was born on January 10, 1922 in North Chicago, Illinois to John and Anna Nedelka and lived there until his retirement in 1986 from North Chicago Community High School before retiring to Sequim, Washington. He was a long time member of Mother of God Catholic Church in Waukegan and most recently, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sequim.
He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of the First Division serving in Sicily, North Africa, northern France and participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. A decorated war veteran, he received the Bronze Battle Star and the Silver Star for his service to his country.
Putts, as he was known to his friends and family, was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and watching his grandchildren participate in their various school and extracurricular activities. He was also past president of Slovenie Hall and a member KSKJ.
He married
Virginia Simicich in North Chicago on October 10, 1959.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; sons, John (Leszlie) of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Michael (Darlene) of Wadsworth, Illinois, Steven (Catherine) of Gurnee, Illinois; two sisters, Francis of North Chicago, Illinois and Katherine of Kenosha, Wisconsin; three daughters-in-law and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Nedelka; two brothers, Al and Steven; and three sisters, Ann, Betty and Mary.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in North Chicago. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
Charles Haven Requa
Charles Haven Requa of Lake Forest died on Saturday, July 31, 2004 after a struggle with melanoma. He was 61 and maintained his strength and zest for life up to the end. Born in Chicago on March 11, 1943 to Haven Charles Requa and Mary Goodrich Requa, Chuck lived nearly his whole life in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff where he owned Memory Lane Motors.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Martha nee Mance; daughters, Polly (Dave) Duchow and Marny Requa; and by his granddaughter, Eleanor Duchow. He is also survived by his father, Charley, now of Phelps, WI; his brother, Patrick Requa; and his sister, Tuckey Requa.
Chuck turned his love for antique and classic cars into a business and, among other things, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his cabin on Long Lake in Phelps, WI. He lived life to the fullest and never took it too seriously. Even his beloved business was another way for him to play.
A Memorial service will be held 3 PM Friday, August 6 at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 400 E. Westminster, Lake Forest. Muriel E. Wilkins
Muriel (nee Pinnell) Wilkins, 91 of Evanston died on July 29. she was born on October 12, 1912 and was a lifelong resident of Waukegan, IL., where she gave private piano and organ lessons and volunteered in the public schools as a tutor in reading and math, until moving to Evanston to reside at the Georgian in 1991. She became an enthusiastic and active participant in life at the Georgian, serving many committees and the Resident's Council, serving a term as Secretary and planning many social events, particularly the New Year's parties. She always shared her musical talents with the residents and staff whenever the spirit moved her. Muriel volunteered in music programs for ten years at the Mather Pavilion and also the King's Home in Evanston. There will be a reception to celebrate her life on Wednesday, August 4 at 7:00PM, at Mather Place at the Georgian, 422 Davis St, Evanston, IL Interment will be private.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Matens of Evanston; Grandchildren, John Craig (Linda Neal) Martens of of Grayslake, IL, Amy (Efrain) Ruiz of Joliet, IL, Lisa (Tom) Jaworski of Prospect Heights, IL, and Jane Martens of Grayslake. Great-grandchildren Jason, Karen and Paul Martens, Cynthia Ruiz, nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends. Mrs.. Wilkins was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Wilkins who died September 9, 1984 and her siblings, Arleigh, Ethel and Meredith.

She was a mail processor at the Palatine Post Office.
