Orville L. Warfel
Orville L. Warfel, age 82, formerly of Gurnee, IL., passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at The Legacy House Hospice. He was born in Lena, IL., having resided in Ocala, Florida since 1983. He was a member of the Ocala West United Methodist Church, Chapter and Life member of the American Veteran's Group Post #35 in Waukegan, IL. Veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy. He was a Supervisor at Fiat-Allis Manufacturing before retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Cleone D. Warfel; two daughters, Karen Hand of Paris, IL. and Rhonda Ross of Findlay, OH; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Aaron and Russell Warfel.

Muriel E. Wilkins
Muriel (nee Pinnell) Wilkins, 91 of Evanston died on July 29. she was born on October 12, 1912 and was a lifelong resident of Waukegan, IL., where she gave private piano and organ lessons and volunteered in the public schools as a tutor in reading and math, until moving to Evanston to reside at the Georgian in 1991. She became an enthusiastic and active participant in life at the Georgian, serving many committees and the Resident's Council, serving a term as Secretary and planning many social events, particularly the New Year's parties. She always shared her musical talents with the residents and staff whenever the spirit moved her. Muriel volunteered in music programs for ten years at the Mather Pavilion and also the King's Home in Evanston. There will be a reception to celebrate her life on Wednesday, August 4 at 7:00PM, at Mather Place at the Georgian, 422 Davis St, Evanston, IL Interment will be private.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Matens of Evanston; Grandchildren, John Craig (Linda Neal) Martens of of Grayslake, IL and Jane Martens of Grayslake. Great-grandchildren Jason, Karen and Paul Martens, Cynthia Ruiz, nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends. Mrs.. Wilkins was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Wilkins who died September 9, 1984 and her siblings, Arleigh, Ethel and Meredith.

Zoe Marie Fox
Zoe Marie Fox, three months, of Kenosha, died Thursday, July 29, 2004 at Kenosha Medical Center. Born at Kenosha Medical Center on April 28, 2004, She was the daughter of Eugene Fox and Angela Lund.
Survivors include her parents of Kenosha; her maternal grandparents, Denise Lund of Kenosha, WI and Steve Lund of Waukegan, IL; her paternal grandparents, Jennie Capponi of Mt. Dora, FL and Charles Fox of Kenosha; her maternal great grandmothers, Harriett Hiatt of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Elizabeth Lund of Waukegan, IL; her paternal great grandmother, Amelia Capponi of Kenosha, WI; her aunts, Ashley Lund of Gurnee, Angelina Fox of Kenosha and Melissa Fox of Racine; and her cousins, Terry Nixon, Anthony Voss and Alexis Voss.
Funeral services were private. PROKO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 5111 Sixtieth St., Kenosha is in charge of the arrangements.

Kourtney Mae Rogers
Kourtney Mae Rogers, 10 day old angel of Michael and Sarah Rogers of Gurnee, was born July 20, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan and spent seven days at home before passing away on Friday, July 30, 2004 at Evanston Hospital in the arms of her parents.
Along with her mother and father, Kourtney is also survived by her brother and sisters, Kimberly, Keith and Kaitlyn Rogers all at home; paternal grandparents, Margaret Rogers and Dr. Jeffrey Skinner of Gurnee and Fred Rogers of Waukegan; maternal grandparents, Lydia Struble of Gurnee and Kurt Gnorski of Zion; and maternal great grandparents, Marsha and Tom Juarez of Zion and Victor Gnorski of Park City and Patsy Zapata of Gurnee; and an uncle, Freddie Rogers of Wadsworth. She was preceded in death by great grandparents, Mary and Jr. Ellsworth and Carrie Mae Rogers; and by great great grandfather, Spencer Kelly.
Visitation will be Monday, August 2, 2004 from 6 to 9 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. cemetery grave-side services will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at 12 Noon at Mt. William Voinovich
William Voinovich, age 77 of Waukegan, IL. died Thursday July 29th, 2004 at home. He was born on March 30, 1927 in North Chicago, IL.
He married his late wife Delores (nee Mruk) in April of 1949. Retired from Johnson-Motors after 30 years as a Tool and Dye maker. A veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army, member of American Legion Homer Dahringer post 281 and the Waukegan Moose Lodge #706. He was also a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan. Bill loved Golf and Bowling, the Bears and the Cubs.
Bill is survived by a son, William (Shirley) Voinovich, Jr of Marion, IA; daughters, Wendy (Terry) Moreno of Lake Forest and Cindy (John) Bell of Gurnee; grandchildren, Deanna (Ron) Berry, Megan and Ryan Stolarik and Katherine Moreno; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Madison, and Kayla; brothers, Nick Voinovich of Waukegan and Thomas Voinovich of North Chicago. He was preceded in death by his wife Delores in 2002.
Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday August 3rd, 2004 at the SALATA-GURNEE FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave, Gurnee, IL.

Winnie Mutya-Yang, 31, of Waukegan, IL passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004 in Palatine, IL. She was born November 6, 1972 in Manila, Philippines. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Buffalo Grove, IL, SC Saturday Club, Our Lady of Fatima College of Nursing, NYOY, Volante Forever and Twinsters 72. She was a mail processor at the Palatine Post Office.
Survivors include her father, Lutgardo Mutya and mother, Purificacion Mutya; brothers, Ric Mutya, Lito Mutya, Boboy Mutya and Joseph Mutya; sisters, Teresa Mutya-Casapao, Vicky Mutya-Parada, Cecile Mutya-Alonzo, Malou Mutya, Gigie Mutya, Wowie Mutya-Esteban; nieces and nephews, Anthony Casapao, Andrea Casapao, Tim Casapao, J.C. Ethel L. Young
Ethel L. Young, 89, of Zion died on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. Ethel was born November 23, 1914 in Sugar Grove, Illinois, moved to Zion in 1923 from Crivitz, Wisconsin and graduated from Zion Preparatory College, Class of 1933. She married the late Dave Young on February 26, 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa and was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion. She was also past President of Ladies of the Round Table and belonged to the Zion Symphony Orchestra for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Beck of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Aline, David, Frances, Robert and Grace; three step grandchildren, Ruth, Joel and Hanna Beck; a great grandson, London Dawson; and a brother, Floyd Raymond of Long Beach, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, David in 1988; a sister, Marion Raymond; and a brother, Gene Raymond.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 10:30 AM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastor Jon Wiziarde of Christ Community Church of Zion officiating. Joseph Victoria
Joseph Victoria, 94, of Waukegan, passed away at his home July 27, 2004. He was born June 10, 1910 in Jacona, Michoacan, Mexico and has been a resident of Waukegan for past 70 years. Joseph was the former owner of the Paricutin Lounge, and a member of Lake County Tavern Owners Association.
He is survived by his three children, Roger Victoria of Waukegan, IL, Diana (the late James) Chaloupka of Gurnee, IL and Rommel Victoria of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Soyla (Karl) Rausch of Miami, FL, Carmela (Rory Sr.) Klema of Mundelein, IL, Marc Victoria of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Rebbeca Victoria of Waukegan, IL, Frances (Peter Sr.) Puleo of Beaver Dam, WI and Peter Victoria of Denver, CO; and six great grandchildren, Tasha, Rory Jr, Danny, Mya, Peter Jr. and Audi.

James Douglas Catchings
James Douglas Catchings, 73, of Beach Park, IL passed away on July 25, 2003 at home. He was born June 18, 1930 in Crystal Springs, MS to Lucius and Gertrude Catchings. He attended school in Mississippi. He moved to Chicago, Illinois in the early 1950's. James worked at Knauz Motors in Lake Forest, IL for 15 years before he began working for the City of Lake Forest Water Department where he retired after years of faithful service.
James was dearly loved by all and his sincere love, kindness, and generosity to his family and friends are his legacy. To all his friends at Shoreline Terrace, the City of Lake Forest and all who knew him we would like to express our sincerest thanks and gratitude for the special friendships you all had with our father.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Catherine Catchings; three daughters from their union, Kathy Robinson of Crystal Springs, MS, Theresa (Albert) Smith, and Evangelist Lola B. (Pastor J.W.) Moore, both of Jackson, MS. He also leaves to cherish his memory three sons and two daughters, Dario (Susie) Cannon of Chicago, IL, James Catchings, Jr. of Helena, AL, Paul Catchings of Austin, TX, Clydie (Glenn) Mayfield of Helena, AL, and Alicia (James) Harris of Zion, IL; a special niece and two nephews, Ruby Ransom and Louis Charles Catchings of Jackson, MS and Randy Catchings of California; 28 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucius and Gertrude Catchings, his brother Robert Catchings; his granddaughter Valerie Phillips and grandson Joseph Johnson.

Dorothy Frank (nee Hodnik)
Dorothy Frank (nee Hodnik), 64, or Ingleside, IL and formerly of North Chicago died Friday, July 25, 2003 in the comfort of her home with her family at her side.. She was born October 21, 1938 in Waukegan and lived in North Chicago before moving to Ingleside in 1972.
She owned and operated with her husband Bill, Frank's Lounge in North Chicago, and also owned and operated Dorothy's Beauty Shop in North Chicago. Dorothy graduated from Mother of God and Holy Child H.S. She was also a member of North Chicago Tavern Owners Association, and the Waukegan Moose.
Dorothy is survived by her son William Frank and a daughter Wanda Frank both of Ingleside, IL. A granddaughter, Sarah Frank, will miss her dearly. Three brothers, Johnny Hodnik of Waukegan, Michael (Elly) Hodnik of Prescott Valley, AZ, Edward (Judy) Hodnik of Mundelein, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1991 and a daughter, Linda, in 1960.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29 from 5-8 p.m. with services 12 noon Wednesday, July 30 at THE SALATA-GURNEE FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville.

Loretta A. Gravelie
Loretta A. Gravelie, 89, formerly of Round Lake, passed away at her home in Ft. Myers, FL. She was born in Chicago on July 11, 1918, the daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (nee Kunz) Yacktor. Loretta was a resident of Round Lake for over 47 years and moved to Ft. Myers in 1998. She worked for Honeywell in Buffalo Grove until her retirement.
She is survived by her children, Judith (Milford) Fish of Wisconsin; Dennis Gravelie of Antioch; and Colleen (Donald) Franzese of Florida; her grandchildren, Kathleen Franzese of Florida and Barbara Richards of Wisconsin; four great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter; her brother, Chester (Lillian) Yacktor of Wheeling, and her sister Laverne Weber of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Gravelie (in 1992) and her brother Raymond Yacktor.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 114 N. Lincoln, Round Lake, IL. Interment is at Ascension Catholic cemetery in Libertyville. Alice K. Krogh
Alice Krogh, age 60, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2003 at her home in Antioch. Alice was born November 5, 1942 at her home, 195 Westerfield Place in Grayslake, IL. She was a Grayslake High School graduate. She took great pleasure in her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Alice leaves behind her six miniature dachshunds that adored her. She was also an expert at fixing and repairing computers.
Alice is survived by her husband of 42 years, Roger Earl Krogh whom she married in 1961, her two sons, Roger Roy Krogh of Antioch and Kevin Krogh of Antioch, her brother Larry (Janice) Reimers of Prospect Heights, grandchildren Allison, Elizabeth, and Tabby Krogh.
She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence, her mother Blanche, her brother Robert, and her sister Lois.
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 8 p.m. at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. George E. Sandahl
George E. Sandahl, 71, of Waukegan, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2003 at his home. He was born on May 3, 1932 in North Chicago, Illinois and was a member of St. Anastasia Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the U.S. Air Force. He retired as an Industrial Engineer from Dresser, Inc., formerly International Harvester Corp. in Libertyville in 1992 after 20 years of employment. He had a passion for fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan; five children, Lisa Justin of Long Grove, IL, Paula Sandahl of Holiday, Florida, Dave (Leslie) Sandahl of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Erica Landree of Waukegan and Jennifer Sandahl of Waukegan; six grandchildren, Ryan and Lauren Justin, Niki and Taylor Sandahl and Oliva and Jenna Landree; and a brother, Robert (Dolly) Sandahl, Jr. of Gurnee.
He was preceded in death by one son, George, Jr., in 1996.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. July 31, 2003 at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Ave., Waukegan. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Walter "Bud" Dean
Walter "Bud" Dean, age 74, of Park City, IL, passed away July 26, 2004. He was a Marine and veteran of the Korean conflict. President of 1st Marine Division Association, Chicago Chapter.
Beloved father of Laura, Nancy and the late Chrissie Dean. Loving grandfather and great-grandfather. Dear brother of Lucille (Sam) D'Andrea, many nieces and nephews.

Jeann Lee Frank
Jeann (nee Budd) Frank, 73, of Grayslake, IL, passed away on July 25, 2004 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center in Lindenhurst, IL, following a battle with brain cancer. Born in Jeffersonville, IN, she grew up in New Albany, IN. She attended Indiana University and completed her degree in Education at Carthage College in Wisconsin. The community of Grayslake mourns her passing as one of its biggest proponents since she and her family settled there in 1965.
Jeann and her late husband, Louis F. Frank, Jr., were well known as pillars of the community for their tireless support and contributions to Grayslake. They had an insurance agency in Grayslake up until Lou's death in 1995. Jeann served many people as a volunteer with a giving heart. She was extremely active in the General Federation of Women's Clubs. She served in many positions including President of both the Grayslake Women's Club and the IL 10th District of Women's Clubs. Jeann was one of 13 women recognized in March 2004 for her inspirational work in her community by the Lake County Women's Coalition. No matter what position she held, she was known as one who would pitch in until the job was done.
Jeann met her husband of 43 years while working at the Aetna Insurance Company in Louisville, KY. They married and had four children, while in Louisville. Their children and spouses are Louis F. Frank, III and Carol (nee Cole) of Grayslake, Lee Ann and Randall F. Olson of Yorkville, Robert E. Frank and Shawn (nee Altmann) of Lake Villa, and Angela and Clint R. Heatley of Plano, TX. Her 10 beloved grandchildren will remember her gracious and generous spirit.
A visitation will be held at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL on Sunday, August 1, 2004 from 11:00 to 4:00 located at 410 E. Belvidere Road in Grayslake. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, August 2, at 10:45 AM at the Crossroads Church in Grayslake located at 1350 State Route 137, Grayslake, IL 60030. Phone: 847-362-7194.
