Norm Stofferahn
Norm Stofferahn, 77, of Kenosha, formerly of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died on Friday, August 13, 2004 at home. Norm was born November 11, 1926 in Lake Field, Minnesota and moved to Winthrop Harbor in the late 1940's following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corp. He began working at Wetzel & Turner car dealership in Waukegan and later worked for Johnson Motors., He then opened and operated Norm's Service Station at 11th and Sheridan Road in the Harbor, operating there for 28 years. He also served as both Trustee and Mayor for the Village of Winthrop Harbor and he was instrumental in getting street lights in the Village. While in business, he was also well known for his work on Lawnmowers, small engines and he sold snow mobiles and campers. Norm also served on the Winthrop Harbor School Board, he sponsored and coached little league, pony league and girls softball, was also instrumental in organizing the Harbor Civil Defense and he was a founding member of both the Push & Pull Snowmobile Club and the Boating Club, both of Winthrop Harbor. Recently, Norm has been attending First Assembly of God Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy; children, Kathleen (Richard) Yecoshenko of Minot, North Dakota and Mark (Terri) Stofferahn of Kenosha; five grandchildren, Todd (Janelle) Yecoshenko, Troy (Sharon) Yecoshenko, Justin (Diana) Stofferahn, Brandon (Crystal) Stofferahn and Sara Stofferahn; and three great grandchildren, Kylee Stofferahn and Madison and Addy Yecoshenko. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Trent Yecoshenko; his father and mother, Christ and Ella Stofferahn; eight brothers; and seven sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2004 at 10:30 AM at First Assembly of God Church, 10700 75th St., Kenosha with Pastor Jason Hirsch officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 17, 2004 from 5 to 8 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. 847-746-1234.
Loretta I. Winckowski
Loretta I. Winckowski, 86, or Waukegan, IL passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at home. She was born January 27, 1918 in Antioch, Illinois and married
Leo Winckowski, who preceded her in death. Loretta Loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in her garden and her flowers. She loved her family, her home and her pets, Zuzu and Tyler. She had worked for a number of years at both Illinois Bell Telephone and Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Bartlett of Waukegan; as well as a granddaughter, Jeniffer Bartlett also of Waukegan.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at the SALATA-GURNEE FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave, Gurnee. Interment will be private at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday only.

David Acevedo, born December 24, 1948 in Puerto Rico, was 53 years old, of North Chicago, IL died August 13, 2002 at the University of Illinois Hospital.
Surviving are ex-wife Delta; and his four children, Nancy, Daniel, Rebecca and Milagros Acevedo; stepdaughter Lana and her husband Brian Davis; two sisters Blanca and Lynn; and nieces and nephews, Felix, Diego Jr., Zaida, Eberto, Edwin, Carmen, Mari, Miguel, Wilson Reyes, Elizabeth, Luis Angel, Wilfredo, Yolanda, Petey and his wife Linda.
In honoring his last wish, no services will be held.

William L. Adams passed away in Milwaukee, WI, Thursday August 15, 2002. Age 51 years.

Jo Anne Farias-Arreguin
Jo Anne Farias-Arreguin, 36, of Waukegan passed away Thursday, August 15, 2002 at her home.
She was born April 26, 1966 in Kennedy, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waukegan.
Jo Anne is survived by her husband, Arturo Arreguin; four children, Christopher Dominguez, Mark Dominguez, Cecelia Dominguez and Arturo Arreguin, Jr., all of Waukegan; sisters, Rose Farias of Gurnee, Amy (Jim) Boelke of Trevor, WI; a brother Thomas (Misty) Farias of Park City. She is also survived by her parents, Pedro and Yolanda Farias of Waukegan; paternal grandmother Manuela Farias; maternal grandmother Delia Medrano both of Kennedy, TX; seven nephews and five nieces and a host of aunt and uncles.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Selestino Medrano and a niece, Jacqueline Farias.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at the Peterson & Patch Funeral Home 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan, with Rev. Keith Cerk officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

Zivorad Filipovic
Zivorad Filipovic, 82, of Winthrop Harbor died Thursday, August 15, 2002 at his home.
He was born September 8, 1919 in Tribrode, Serbia and lived in Winthrop Harbor for the last 50 years. He retired in 1984, from Johnson Motors after 30 years of service.
Zivorad is survived by his wife, Justina; two sons, Mark (Silvia) of Waldorf, MD and Dennis Filipovic of Waukegan, IL; a daughter, Maria (Parnell Steele) Henderson of Waukegan, IL; eight grandchildren, Mark, Mike, Andrea, Elliott and Krystin Filipovic, Laura, Valerie and David Henderson; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Stevo in 1953.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 12:15 AM Monday, August 19, 2002 from THE GURNEE SALATA/NEMANICH FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave, Gurnee. Funeral Services and interment will start at 1 PM Monday, August 19, 2002 at Most Holy Mother of God Serbian Orthodox Monastary, Third Lake, IL.

Albert Wilson Lucas, Jr.
Albert Wilson Lucas, Jr., 68, of Waukegan, passed away Monday, August 12, 2002 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born December 13, 1933 in Lake Villa Township and was a retired maintenance foreman. Albert's hobbies included fixing and selling lawn mowers. He was well known in Lake County as the "Lawn Mower Man". He was also an avid Nascar Racing Fan.
Survivors include his wife Gladys; 4 children Albert III, Dawn, Tom and Rick; 7 grandchildren Joshua, Jessica, Tommy, Kimmy, Tangie, Tanya and Kelly; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother Eugene Rich (Phyllis); 2 sisters Marilyn (the late George) Weinberger and Charlotte Behling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. and Florence.
Per Alberts' wishes, he was cremated and there were to be no services. Memorials may be sent to the family through MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan, IL 60085.

Paul R. White
Paul "Butchie" White passed on Tuesday, August 13th, 2002 in San Diego, California visiting his sister Vivian. He was born in Waukegan, IL on October 17th, 1950 to Otis and Johnnie White.
He is survived by his wife Maureen. They were united in marriage June 5th, 1972 in Waukegan, IL. He leaves a loving daughter Pam and granddaughter Rhani Jordan, the light of his life.
He is retired after 24 years of service from North Shore Gas Company and spent his last few years doing what he loved, fishing with his partner and brother-in-law Ben.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and just recently by his older brother Otis.
Paul was a member of Trinity AME Church in Waukegan.
He leaves behind his sisters: Barbara (Allen) Gordon of Zion, IL, Vivian (Herbert) Sesley of San Diego, California, Patricia (Frank) Warren of Evanston, IL and Vanessa (Ben) Perrin of Zion, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
The wake will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 19th at Trinity AME Church, 210 South Ave., Waukegan, IL. Funeral services and burial to follow. The eulogy will be delivered by the Reverend Reginald Blount. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to WESTGATE FUNERAL HOME, Waukegan, IL. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park, 33100 N. Hunt Club Road in Libertyville.
Richard Stanley Witek
Mr. Richard Stanley Witek, 51, of Lakemoor, formerly of Chicago, passed away Friday, August 16, 2002. He was born August 1, 1943 to the late Stanley and Sophia (Tofel) Witek.
He was a member of AFSCME-AFL-CIO; President of IBEW Local #3905. He was employed by the Village of Fox Lake, performing mechanical maintenance at the NW Regional Wastewater Plant.
He was the beloved husband of Susan (nee Artman), loving father of Jaime (Hugo) Gutierrez of Lumberton, MS, Jaime Pierce and James (Debbie) Busch of Spring Grove. Cherished grandfather of Jessie, Christian, James, Patrick and Karen. Dear brother of Patricia Kielnik of Chicago and fond uncle of Jeff Kielnik of Chicago and Linda (Brad) Ostrand of Palatine. Beloved grand uncle to Jacob and Samuel.

Roy Oliver Worthington was born April 10, 1913 to Rufus and Rebecca Worthington in Zion, IL and accepted the Lord early in life. He departed this life peacefully on August 14, 2002.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Eloise; six sons', Marvin (Linda), Charles (Avie), Robert (Erin), Lloyd, William (Mamie), and Michael (Valerie); seven daughters, Frances Moore, Rebecca (Leon) Miles, Patricia, Evelyn (Naman) Hales, Delores (Stanley) Pruitt, Michelle and Audrey Worthington; 57 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; his sister, Jacqueline Worthington; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Vaughn; a son, Roy O. Worthington Jr., a sister, Josephine; four brothers, David, Miller, Harold and Charles; and his parents.
