Jennie Adams, 90, of Knollwood, died August 14, 2003. Born in Chicago June 24, 1913, she was a resident of Knollwood for 62 years. Former housekeeper of the rectory of the Church of St. Mary in Lake Forest. Member of the Church of St. Mary. Former member of the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Seniors at Gorton Community Center.
Wife of the late Anthony J. Adams (1993). Mother of Jeanette (Lee) Schindler, Virginia Love and Tony (Sue) Adams. Grandmother of ten and great grandmother of 15. Sister of the late Guy and Philomena Molinare.

Geraldine C. Tanner
Geraldine C. Tanner, 59 of Wadsworth, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion. She was born in Chicago on April 30, 1944 the daughter of the late Stanley and Cecelia (nee Kobak) Buczek. Geraldine was a resident of Grayslake and Ingleside for over 40 years and a resident of Wadsworth for 17 years. She worked at Sam's Club in Gurnee.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Michael Nabor of Wadsworth; her daughter Tracey (Kevin) Anderson of Vernon Hills; her step-son, Frank (Lupe) Nabor of Gurnee; her grandchildren, Sara and David Jensen of Vernon Hills, and Amber and Vinny Nabor of Gurnee; her brother Ron Buczek and sister Joan (Dale) Clark both of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Tanner.
Funeral services will be at 10AM, Monday, August 18, 2003 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, LTD., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030 with Pastor Zack Turner officiating. Setsuko Laura Guzman
Setsuko Laura Guzman, a former Cushing, OK, resident, now of Gurnee, IL, passed away early Friday morning, August 13, 2004 at the age of 83 years.
The daughter of the late Isuke Iguchi and Asano Arikawa Iguchi, Laura was born on March 9, 1921 in El Monte, CA, and was reared and educated in California.
She was united in marriage to Carlos Guzman on April 10, 1949 and he had served as the pastor for the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Avery, OK for over 12 years prior to leaving in 1981. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1982.
Laura moved to Gurnee in 1993 to live with her daughter's family.
She was an active member in a number of Churches, and most recently was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waukegan, where she participated in the quilting guild for a number of years. She had a career as a dental assistant and was an avid gardener.
Surviving include one daughter, Debbie Robinson, and her husband, John, of Gurnee, IL; one brother and one sister, both of California; three grandchildren, Zack Robinson, Adriane Robinson of Gurnee, IL, and Andrea Guzman of Atlanta, GA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Andy Guzman; and two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at 10 AM Immanuel Lutheran Church in Avery, OK, with Pastor Bryan Dzaidik-Willingham officiating.
Burial will follow in the Church Yard cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waukegan, IL, in her memory.

Harry A. Lemke
Harry A. Lemke, age 83, from Wildwood, died August 15, 2004 at VA Medical Center, North Chicago. He was born January 8, 1921 in Custer, Wisconsin.
He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church. He was a member of the 12th Armoured Division, Square Dancing Club, and was a boilermaker.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette; children, Carol Lemke of Park City and Sally (Rich) Figge of Round Lake Beach; loving grandfather of Chip, Christopher and Carl Moore (Heather) and Ann Marie Figge. Great-Grandfather of Angelica and Elizabeth Moore. Also survived by his brothers, Donnie and Stanley Lemke; sisters, Cecelia, Lydia, Bernice, Rose (Bob) and Mary (Paul). Nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by his brother Joe Lemke and sister Clara Rodenberg.

George J. Miller
George J. Miller, a former resident of Grayslake for over 60 years passed away August 16, 2004 at Libertyville Manor in Libertyville at the age of 92 years. He was born February 5, 1912 in Pistakie Bay, IL. George worked as a contractor for 35 years and was a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church. He was a 60 year member of the Carpenter's Union, a former member of the Grayslake Lion's Club and a former member of the Milton Junction, WI Kiwanis Club.
George is survived by his sons, Thomas Miller of Grayslake and Robert (Anita (nee Logan)) Miller; his eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and his sister, Lucille Curtis of Buffalo Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy, whom he wed in 1934, in 1981; his second wife, Marjorie Moffit Baske, whom he wed in 1982, in 2004; his three brothers; and his sister.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 9 AM at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL, 60030. Interment will be held immediately after the service at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville, IL.

James Nielsen
James Nielsen, 85, of Waukegan, IL passed away Monday, August 16, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born February 22, 1919 in Lake Villa Township, the son of the late Niels Andrew and Anna Marie (Nielsen) Nielsen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. On August 16, 1947, he married
Alice E. Schaer in Waukegan. Jim was a golfer, a Chicago Cubs fan, a member of the former Swedish Glee Club and a little league baseball coach. He retired as a machinist for Johnson Motors in January 1983.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Alice; three sons, David (Lori) of Deerfield, IL, Dennis of Champaign, IL and Donald of Waukegan; two daughters, Susan (Robert) Friddle of Ingleside, IL and Donna (Philip) Connelly of Waukegan; a brother, Paul (Louise) of Waukegan; and five grandchildren, Sara, David, Jenessa, Anna Marie and Heather. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Ingebor and Carol Nielsen, Helen Geier, Alice Richter and Agnes Hedblom; and three brothers, Niels, Harold and William.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rt. 83). Interment will be in Hickory Union cemetery, Newport Township. Visitation will be from 10 AM Wednesday until time of services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waukegan Fire and Rescue Squad in his memory.
David J. Spannraft, Esq.
David J. Spannraft, Esq., 33, of Deerfield, IL passed away Thursday, August 12, 2004 at his home. He was born March 18, 1971 in Highland Park, IL and was a 1989 graduate of Libertyville High School. One accomplishment he was extremely proud of was that of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated summa cum laude from the Lake Forest College in 1993, and with honors from the Loyola University School of Law in 1996. While at Loyola, he was active with the Law Review. David was admitted to the Bar in Illinois in 1996 and was a partner with the law firm of Rosing, Berks, Sinton and Spannraft in Waukegan.
Surviving are his parents, Daniel and Elizabeth Spannraft of Libertyville; many friends; and the Lake County Legal Community.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Thursday, August 19 at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple, Libertyville with the Rev. Thomas Conde as celebrant. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 PM Wednesday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176), Libertyville. Regina Van
Regina Van, 58, of Mt Pine, AR passed away Thursday, August 12, 2004 in her home. She was born March 11, 1946 to the late Sadie Howard Hand and Robert Hand in Fredericktown, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Van, Mt. Pine, AR; two sons, Thomas (Felicia) Schmeichel, Round Lake Beach, IL; Eric Chmiel, Chicago, IL; one daughter, Tammy (Rob) Hoffman, Spring Grove, IL; one step-son, Ryan Van, Chicago, IL; one step-daughter, Dana Van, Chicago, IL; one sister, Earline Speer, Joplin, MO; one brother, Robert (Marilyn) Davis, St. Lois, MO; 3 grandchildren, Drew Hoffman, Elesha Hoffman and Mason Schmeichel; one uncle, Victor Allen, St. Lois, MO.

Evelyn R. Waters
Evelyn R. Waters a resident of Round Lake Beach since 1954 and formerly of Chicago passed away Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL at the age of 88. She retired in 1980 from Round Lake Senior High School where she worked as a receptionist for over 13 years. Evelyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Long Lake, a member of Eastern Star of Chicago, the Betsy Ross Chapter #834 and the Lake County Home Extension Club.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Jo Ann (Jim) Waldron of Lindenhurst and Kay Waters of Round Lake; her three grandchildren, Christopher (Christine) Mullaly, Joseph (fiance, Annette) Waldron, Jacqueline (Jeff) Petrovic; her great-grandchildren, Keagan and Lucas Mullaly; and her brother, Richard (Dorothy) Thorby of Elmwood, Park, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Katherine Thorby; and her husband, Joseph Waters on December 23, 1976.
A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 25519 W. Highway 134 with an hour of Visitation prior to the service. Loretta I. Winckowski
Loretta I. Winckowski, 86, or Waukegan, IL passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at home. She was born January 27, 1918 in Antioch, Illinois and married
Leo Winckowski, who preceded her in death. Loretta Loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in her garden and her flowers. She loved her family, her home and her pets, Zuzu and Tyler. She had worked for a number of years at both Illinois Bell Telephone and Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Bartlett of Waukegan; as well as a granddaughter, Jennifer Bartlett also of Waukegan.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at the SALATA-GURNEE FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave, Gurnee. Interment will be private at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday only.

Violet Karagianis
Violet Karagianis, 82, of Waukegan passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was born August 24, 1921 in Lawrence, Kansas.
She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Prior to her retirement she was President of Federal Supply Co., she was also a former member of Zonta International and the Philoptochos Society.
Violet is survived by her son, Demetrios N. (Brenda) Selevredes II; grandchildren, Robert Wiener, Demetrios N. (Melissa) Selevredes III and Nicole L. (Steve) Chambers of NM; great grandchildren, Chelsea Selevredes, Spencer Chambers, Nicholas and Celine Selevredes; also by her sister, Christine (Tim) Liv of CA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Irene; sisters, Eleanor and Emily; brother, George; and her husband, Christ.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1217 North Ave., Waukegan with Rev. Fr. Cosmas Halekakis officiating. Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories, North Chicago. Friends may call at PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday.
