Lloyd Henry Ladd
Lloyd Henry Ladd, 62, a resident of Spring Grove, IL since 1970, formerly of Spooner, Cumberland, Wisconsin, died at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion on Friday, August 15, 2003. He was born in Spooner, Wisc. on March 4, 1941. He was a welder by profession and was a member of the National Pro Bass Angler's Deaf Association, the Waukegan Deaf Club and the Chicago Club for the Deaf. Mr. Ladd was affectionately known as "Mr. Fix It" as he enjoyed repairing various items for his friends and neighbors. He was also an avid collector of old movies.
He is survived by his fiancee, Christine Casella of Ingleside; his son, William (Violet) Ladd of Poplar Grove, IL; his two grandsons; and by seven brothers; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by three brothers.
Private services were conducted by the K. K. HAMSHER FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., P.O. Box 36,, Fox Lake, 60020.

Jack W. McElmurry
Jack W. McElmurry, 64, of Zion, died August 16, 2003 at his home.
Jack was born November 25, 1938 in Zion, and lived in this area all of his life. He was a graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School and Roosevelt University of Chicago where he received his B.S. and M.B.A. Degrees. He married Eva Dye on June 30, 1962 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Jack retired from Abbott Laboratories after 36 years as a program manager. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #127 in Millburn and was an Illinois Beach Rotarian. He was an avid golfer, hunter and bowler, who loved life and enjoyed traveling and antique cars.
Survivors include his wife, Eva; four children, Jodi (Albert) Petree of Zion, Jacki (John) Mallek of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Leslie Hagen of Winthrop Harbor and Lori McElmurry of Zion; seven grandchildren, Jacob Zappa, Karleigh, Kelsi, Lindsey, Ryan Mallek and Kayla and Jaxson Hagen; Parents, Frances and Jack McElmurry of Zion; three sisters, Beverly (William Hosken) McElmurry and Kathleen (Ed Waddle) McElmurry both of Zion and Karilyn (Dan) Rushforth; nephews, Terry and Chip Hosken, Justin Evans, Neal Rushforth; and nieces, Janet and Ryann Bandovich, Courtney Rushforth and Amanda and Kara Evans. He was preceded in death by his special mother-in-law, Eula (Momo) Dye.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at 10 AM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastor Paul Gerardy officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 19, 2003 from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Memorials to Illinois Beach Sunrise Rotary Scholarship Fund have been suggested. 847-746-1234.

Jennie Miller Pierce (nee Jurca)
Jennie Miller Pierce (nee Jurca), 105, of the Waukegan-North Chicago area, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2003 at Sheridan Medical Complex in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
She was born November 28, 1897 in Ziri, Slovenia, Yugoslavia and arrived in the United States in 1920. Jennie had worked many years ago at the Tannery in Waukegan, Great Lakes Laundry and retired from Abbott Laboratories after 16 years of service. Jennie was an active member of the Slovenic National Home and the Retirees, the Balina Club at Slovenic Home and a member of S.N.P.J. Sloga Lodge #14.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Lorraine (Raymond) Smith of Winthrop Harbor, IL; three very loving grandchildren, William (Kristine) Smith of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Sherry (James) Kantola of Waukegan, IL and Sandra (Martin) Meyer of Wadsworth, IL; three great grandchildren, John, Sara and Jay Meyers and Samantha Smith; a great great grandchild, Abigail Schultz.
Visitation for Jennie will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at the SALATA FUNERAL HOME, 729-14th Street, North Chicago, IL where services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 with time to be announced in Tuesday's edition. Burial will take place at North Shore Garden of Memories.

William W. Tanski
William W. Tanski, 89, of Round Lake, IL passed away Saturday, August 16, 2003 at Libertyville Manor. He was born June 30, 1914 in Chicago, IL.
He was a member of the Midwest Operating Engineers Union and was a retired Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
Survivors include a son, Ramon Tanski of LaBelle, Florida; a daughter, Marva Lukas of Round Lake Beach, IL; eight grandchildren, Rhonda (John) Sawatsky, Daniel (Cindy) Tanski, Steven Tanski, Regina (Frank) LaForge, Sheila (Steve) Jones, Tina (Paul) Lowry, Dawn (John) Szweda and John Lukas; 16 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily in 1999; and a brother, Bruno Tanski.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 12 Noon on Wednesday only.

Ruth Erma Etchell (nee Sherer)
Ruth Erma Etchell (nee Sherer), age 87, formerly of Waukegan, IL and Clearwater, FL passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Fort Atkinson Rehabilitation Center, Fort Atkinson, WI, her residence since 2000.
Beloved wife of the late Homer (1991) for 50 years; loving mother of Lawrence (Roberta) of Highland Park, IL and Mark (Arlene) of Janesville, WI; adored grandmother of Suzanne (Richard) Eisinger, Jonathan Etchell, Scott Etchell, Linda (Chau) Ly, Kathi (Reggie) Brown, Christina (Jose) Arambula, and Marcia (Tom) Lemmer; dearest great-grandmother of Vy, Chau Jr., Cindy, and Charlie Ly, Benjamin and Matthew Eisinger, Felicia and Marco Arambula-Etchell, Zachary, Bethany, and Austin Lemmer; also the fond aunt of many.
The cherished daughter, born February 8, 1917, of the late Henry and Martha (Knox) Sherer and dearest sister to the late Blanche Rowland, Lorraine Grota, Richard, Henry, and twin brother Ralph Sherer.
A devoted wife and mother, Ruth was also an active volunteer and gave selflessly of her time to many charities and organizations, in both Illinois and Florida. She was organist for 35 years as well as Sunday School teacher and choir member of Saint John's United Church of Christ, Waukegan, IL; a 60 year member, Chapter 209/Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Women of the Moose; and a very active volunteer and member of Faith United Church of Christ, Clearwater, FL.
Ruth's wish to be reunited with Homer at Serenity Gardens, Largo, FL will be honored and interment will be private. A September memorial service to be held in the Wisconsin area is pending. She was a grand lady and will be missed by all who were touched by her love and kindness.

Joyce Green Kolton
Joyce Green Kolton, 48, of Indian Creek, IL and formerly of Plumsteadville, PA, passed away on Sun., Aug. 15, 2004 at her home following a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born Sept. 9, 1955 in Abington, PA, was raised in Plumsteadville where she was a Girl Scout and 4-H member. She graduated from Central Bucks West High School in Doylestown, PA, where she distinguished herself as a gifted athlete in field hockey and lacrosse and was a talented violinist. She graduated from Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA and taught physical education and driver education at Pennridge High School in Perkasie, PA. She shared her love of athletics as a coach in field hockey, lacrosse and gymnastics.
After relocating to the Chicago area, Joyce graduated from Ravenswood Medical Center and was employed as a nurse at Highland Park Hospital. She later combined her talents as a teacher and nurse to become a school nurse for the Hawthorn Primary Schools and Libertyville and Vernon Hills High Schools. After school, she headed for the playing field as a lacrosse coach.
The Vernon Hills High School Cougar Spirit award has been renamed in Joyce's honor. It is the highest award given to a student who exemplifies the school's blue and silver "Cougar" spirit.
Joyce had many accomplishments, and enjoyed her role as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. Her proudist achievement was raising two talented children, Jennifer Joyce and Robert Paul Jr. who share her love of athletics and music. A woman of deep faith, Joyce served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at the First Presbyterian Church of Libertyville. As a seamstress, she delighted many with the dance costumes, home fashions, quilts and wedding gowns she created.
Surviving are her husband Robert Paul Kolton; 2 children, Jennifer & Robbie Kolton, all of Indian Creek; 2 brothers, Jeffrey (Kirma) Green of Midlothian, VA, John (Kathe) Green of Philadelphia, PA; her sister Judy (Ken) Foulke of Ivyland, PA, and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. and Maxine B. Green.
A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat., Aug. 21 at the First Presbyterian Church, Maple and Douglas Avenues, Libertyville, with the Rev. J. D. Millar officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the children's education account for Robbie and Jennifer Kolton, c/o LaSalle Bank, 515 E. Townline Road, Vernon Hills, IL 60061. Arrangements are by the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville.

Irene A. Trelford
Irene A. Trelford (nee Rappatta) 86 of Libertyville died August 15, 2004 at her home. She was born February 5, 1918 in Ashland, WI and had been a resident of Libertyville since 1962.
Mrs. Trelford was a cook at Joe's Fireside Restaurant of Libertyville for more than 10 years and was an active member of St. Joseph Parish for 40 years.
She is survived by her children James (The Late Doris) Trelford of Winfield, AL, Patricia (Ron) Motsinger of Round Lake, Joy (Ken) Fogo of Libertyville and April (Mike) Skuse of Green Oaks, IL. 12 Grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband James in 1978. Private family funeral services will be 12 Noon Friday at McMurrough Chapel, 101 Park Pl., Libertyville. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery.

Lawrence A. Trute
Lawrence A. Trute, 62, of Waukegan, IL, passed away Mon., Aug. 16, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. He was born Oct. 4, 1941 in Highland Park, IL and had been a Waukegan resident for the past 20 years. During his early years, he was involved with the family business, the Clavey Nursery in Highland Park. Larry was interested in music, was an organist and also completed classes at the Britannica Academy, division of Britannica Schools.
Surviving are his brother David (Alice) Trute of Wilbraham, MA and sister Eva Bryan of Lindenhurst, many nieces and nephews and by is many friends at Shimer College in Waukegan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Alice Trute, and his brother-in-law Roy Bryan.
Services will be held at Noon, Thurs., Aug. 19 in the chapel at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave., (Rt. 176) Libertyville.

Evelyn R. Waters
Evelyn R. Waters a resident of Round Lake Beach since 1954 and formerly of Chicago passed away Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL at the age of 88. She retired in 1980 from Round Lake Senior High School where she worked as a receptionist for over 13 years. Evelyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Long Lake, a member of Eastern Star of Chicago, the Betsy Ross Chapter #834 and the Lake County Home Extension Club.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Jo Ann (Jim) Waldron of Lindenhurst and Kay Waters of Round Lake; her three grandchildren, Christopher (Christine) Mullaly, Joseph (fiance, Annette) Waldron, Jacqueline (Jeff) Petrovic; her great-grandchildren, Keagan and Lucas Mullaly; and her brother, Richard (Dorothy) Thorby of Elmwood, Park, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Katherine Thorby; and her husband, Joseph Waters on December 23, 1976.
A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 25519 W. Highway 134 with an hour of Visitation prior to the service. Interment will be held at N. Glen Oak cemetery in Hillside, IL at 1:30 p.m. Friends of the family may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Gertrude "Trudy" Wodach
Gertrude "Trudy" Wodach, age 79 of Plant City passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2004. Mrs. Wodach was born in New York and moved here in 1985 from Grayslake, IL. A former employee of Baxter's Lab, a longtime member of the order of Eastern Star, and past worthy matron, she was actively involved with many local square dancing and around dancing clubs. An avid golfer and member of the Red Hat Club.
Mrs. Wodach was a dear friend to many at Country Meadows Retirement Community. Predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Dick Wodach and her brother "Solly". Survivors include two sons: Wayne and Brett Wodach of Grayslake, IL; one daughter: Madelyn Bowyer of Lindenhurst, IL; one sister: Sophie Cohen of Flushing, NY; 2 grandchildren:Max Bowyer of Lake Villa, IL and Jennie Vela of Kenosha, WI; 3 great grandchildren: Kaylie and Colby Bowyer, and Andrew Vela. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 18, 2004, 9:30a.m. and a memorial service will begin at 10:30a.m. at Wells Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jim Brady offciating. Cremation will follow.

Douglas Richard Riedy
Douglas Richard Riedy, 47, formally of Lisle, IL, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2006. He was born May 22, 1959 to the late Richard & Dorothy Riedy of Lisle, IL.
Douglas graduated from Lisle High School.
He is survived by his sisters; Nancy Kuhlman of Chicago, IL, Diane Shipman, of Prescott, AZ and Karen Callahan of Seneca, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Dorothy Riedy.
A memoriam mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc in Lisle, IL on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. He was loved in life and now in death.
Donations may be made to the Seneca Animal Shelter.
