Margaret F. Genest
Margaret F. Genest (nee Krueger), age 87, a life-long resident of Highland Park, IL., passed away Saturday, August 14, 2004. Born on May 29, 1917, the daughter of the late Jacob and Emma Krueger.
Surviving are two sons, Robert (Willene) Troy of Highland Park, IL. and Thomas (Sharon) Genest of Highland Park; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Troy of Fort Meyers, FL; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her beloved son, James Edwin Try; and husbands, Foster Edwin Troy and Earl Charles Genest.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11 AM, Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Kelly and Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 100 Tri-State International #125, Lincolnshire, IL 60069.
James B. Hladnik, Sr.
James B. Hladnik, Sr., 87, of Waukegan, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at Vista St. Therese Medical Center.
He was born August 16, 1917 in North Chicago and retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. on January 29, 1979 after 22 years of employment.
He was a member of St. Anastasia Church where he had been an usher for 54 years, the Holy Name Society, Senior Bowling at Bertrands, St. Mary's Lodge 79 KSKJ and the AARP. He was also a member of the Shamrock Club at St. Patrick's Church in Wadsworth, the Knights of Columbus Waukegan Council #731.
Mr. Hladnik is survived by three children; James (Denise) Hladnik, Jr. of Lindenhurst, IL, Kathleen (Richard) Brean of Waukegan and Thomas (Elena) Hladnik of Ingleside, IL and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Albina (nee Riedel) on November 6, 1994, three brothers Frank, Larry and John; two sisters Mary and Antoinette as well as his parents, John and Catherine Hladnik.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2004 at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Avenue with interment to follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Friends may call at the SALATA-GURNEE FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave. in Gurnee from 1-5 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made in his memory to St. Anastasia Church.
Maria Jewczyk
Beloved Maria Jewczyk 75, of Antioch, Illinois sadly passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at Columbia St. Mary's Regional Burn Center in Milwaukee, WI. She was born on July 22, 1929 in Poland. She was happily married
on February 20, 1954 in Toronto, Canada, to her loving husband of 50 years, Peter Jewczyk, Sr.
She was a very warm, loving, compassionate, and giving woman. She leaves behind her most precious possession, her wonderful grandchildren. God was the center of her life. She was a food demo employee at Piggly Wiggly and Jewel in Antioch, IL.
Surviving her are her beloved husband Peter Jewczyk, Sr. Her six loving children, Peter (Liz) Jewczyk, Jr. of Waupaca, WI, Sophia (Cliff) Mitchell of Antioch, IL, Olga Simon of Twin Lakes, WI, Natalie (Steve) Shepard of Racine, WI, Mary (Ray) Krzywda of Milwaukee, WI, Anna Tania (Bob) Phillips of Appleton, WI and her cherished 11 grandchildren. Her immediate family included one brother Gregory Korenko who preceded her in death and her two sisters Anna Saniuk and Tania (Wally) Skoryno.
Maria's family would like to offer a special thank you to the Columbia St. Mary's Regional Burn Center staff. Especially to Dr. Anthony Linn along with the nurses and staff for their compassionate care during her time at the hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 23, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the New Gracanica Metropolitanate (Grant Ave & Hwy 45) Third Lake, IL. Following the service, burial will be at St. Sava cemetery 32377 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, IL 60048. Richard P. Neubauer
Richard P. Neubauer, 67, of Spring Grove, IL passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry, IL.
He was born in Chicago, IL on June 28, 1937, the son of the late Phillip and Wilhelmina Neubauer. He was a resident of Spring Grove for the last two years, moving from Lake Villa and had lived in Chicago for many years. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughter, Tricia (Robert) Czeszewski of Spring Groce; his granddaughter, Ashley Neubauer; his sisters, Dorothy (Fred) Hansen of Niles, IL and Lois Kanarowski of Niles, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard "Ricky" Neubauer; and his sister, Christine Davis.

Jack Peterson
Jack Peterson, 53, of Louisville, KY passed away Thursday at Norton Suburban Hospital. He was born in Minnesota, and was a systems analyst for E.D.S.
Jack served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Atkinson-Peterson; a son, Andy Peterson (Kimberly), a daughter, Elizabeth Peterson; his mother, Dorothy K. Peterson; sister, Julie Peterson (McCray) and 3 grandchildren, Nathan Cavallo, Miranda and Ryan Peterson.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday at his church, 5505 Bardstown Road, with burial at 11:00 am Wednesday C.D.T. at Mt. Olivett memorial Park in Zion, Illinois. Visitation will be from 3-8:00 pm Sunday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Memorial gifts may be directed to Habitat for Humanity.
Craig James Powers
Craig James Powers, age 45, of Grays-lake, Illinois, died August 19, 2004 at Manor Care in Libertyville. He was born December 28, 1958 in Calumet City, Illinois.
Mr. Powers was a member of Village Church of Gurnee. He was manager of Advanced Auto Parts in Kenosha, WI.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen; children, Nicole, Melissa, Brittany; a sister, Tamara; his mother, Adrianne; his father, James; and his grandmother, Gertrude Izarra.

Lula Mae Sanders
Lula Mae Sanders passed away on August 17, 2004. She was born June 23, 1936 to Eddie and Martha Harris in Jackson, MS. Lula confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age at the Pine Grove M.B. Church, in MS.
She completed her secondary education at Lanier High School in Jackson, MS. Lula moved to Chicago in the early 60's where she met her present husband Aubrey (Ricky) Sanders.
While in Illinois, Lula worked at Aimee Dress Shop (Lake Forest) for 28 years and 23 years at Service Merchandise. Lula united with St. John Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Usher Board. Later she joined the Christian Love Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Norman Taylor where she was a member of the adult choir.
Lula was a loving and giving person and will be missed by the many friends and family members who loved and cherished her. She is survived by her husband, Aubrey (Ricky) Sanders of Waukegan, IL; her sister, Dorothy (Leroy) Daniel Cage of Waukegan, IL; her brothers, Frank Harris of Chicago, IL; Robert (Doreen) Harris of Huntsville, AL; Alvester (Addie B) Kelly of Jackson, MS; and William Harris of Los Angeles, CA. Six step children, William (Melba) Holmes, Patricia (Anthony) Quinn, Hester (Ernest) Abbott, Danny (Gayle) Sanders, Rose Peters and Margie (John)Taylor). A special Godchild, Brook Collins and her special niece and nephew, Margaret Taylor and Spencer N. Harris. A host of other nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Lula is preceded in death by her first husband Robert Sweeney, her son Larry, her parents Eddie and Martha, sister Jessie George, brothers Eddie Lee, Jonny, and Spencer Harris.
Local visitation service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2004 at the Christian Love Baptist Church, 2203 Lewis Ave. in Zion, IL 60099 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Rev. Norman Taylor, Pastor officiating. Funeral services will be held in Jackson, MS on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Aaron E. Siegel, 23 died August 18, 2004 in Arizona. Beloved son of Myron Siegel and Charlotte Siegel. Devoted brother of Aliza "Liz", Aliya "Leah" and Ariel Siegel. Cherished grandson of William Holley.

Grace E. Ullrich
Grace E. Ullrich, 87, of Antioch, IL passed away Thursday, August 19, 2004 at her home. She was born December 1, 1916 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Sommers) Thompson. She grew up in Chicago and spent summers in Long Lake. On June 24, 1939, she married
Robert Ullrich in Chicago and then spent summers in Antioch before moving there permanently in 1970. Grace was a member of the Lutheran Church of All Saints of Fox Lake, the Women of the Moose Chapter #735 of Antioch and the AARP.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene (John) Clauson of Antioch and Barbra (Ken) Grzewskowiak of Fox Lake, IL; and three grandchildren, Jennifer, David and Wendy (Richard). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on April 13, 1993; and her brother, Roger Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday, August 23, 2004 at STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) with Rev. Nathan Anderson of the Lutheran Church of All Saints of Fox Lake officiating. Interment will be in Millburn cemetery, Old Mill Creek, IL. Charles L. Urh
Charles L. Urh, 82, of Waukegan, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at Lake Forest Hospital.
He was born on December 2, 1921 in North Chicago, Illinois.
Charles retired as an electrician with U.S. Steel in 1979 after more then 30 years of employment.
He was a member of St. Dismas Church as well as the Homer Dahringer Post #281, St. Joseph KSKJ #53, U.S. Steel Retiree's Club, Slovenic National Home, National Rifle Association as well as the Slovenian Cultural Center.
He was also a veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include one son Tom (Jan) Gruling of Racine, Wisconsin, one daughter Kathy (Randy) Wagner of DeForest, Wisconsin. Two granddaughters Kristin & Jessica as well as one brother John (Loretta) Urh of Waukegan and one sister Frances (Richard) Pfeiffer of Hiles, Wisconsin. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive; and two sister in laws, Estelle Krisnar and Anna Urh.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Frances Urh, four brothers; Barney Krisnar, Andy, Rudy, and Fred Urh, three sisters Anna Plutkis and two in infancy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 21, 2004 at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Avenue with Fr. John Ryan officiating. Interment will be private at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville.
Friends may call at St.Dismas Church from 9:00 AM til time of service only on Saturday.
