Carolyn "Cal" Wyatt
Carolyn "Cal" Wyatt, of North Chicago, IL passed away August 18, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital.
Cal, as she was known, was born July 9, 1950, she moved to Illinois in 1970. Later she worked at Abbott Labs, Then Great Lakes Naval Training Center as a housekeeper Supervisor at the B.E.Q.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Angela Renee Balentine of North Chicago; two grandsons, Darius and Darrien Balentine both of North Chicago; three brothers, Alfred Balentine of Waukegan, IL, Robert (Vanessa) Balentine of Mississippi and Emmet Balentine of Arkansas; three sisters, Mary B. Smith of North Chicago, IL, Paula (Herbert) Byars and Amanda Balentine both of Waukegan, IL; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Melvin; her parents, Alfred Balentine Sr. and Lula Mae Balentine; and her loving nieces, Gwendolyn (Bookey) Love and Vanessa Smith.
There will be a Memorial Service held at 10 AM Saturday, August 23, 2003 at the BRADSHAW & RANGE FUNERAL HOME, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL, 60085.

Virginia P. Besnah
Virginia P. Besnah, 85 of Waukegan, passed away August 21, 2004 at St. Therese Hospital.
Survived by two sons, Robert and George Besnah; two sisters, Dolores Caccamo and Doris Ruff; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. Also, her beloved Dog, Mickie.
preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Pauline Kazmirski; one brother, Jerome Kessner; and one daughter, Pauline Hodspeth.
Funeral services and burial will be private.

Mary Katherine Cashmore
Mary Katherine Cashmore, 89, of Waukegan, IL passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Winchester House, Libertyville, IL.
She was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on November 19, 1914, the daughter of the late Howard Calloway Godsey and Mary Etta Bailey. She was a lifelong resident of Waukegan. On February 6, 1943, she married William W. Cashmore. He passed away in 1966. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Joyce Thyne) Cashmore of Waukegan; her grandchildren, David Cashmore of Waukegan, Randall (Kristin) Cashmore of Grayslake and Kevin Cashmore of Wadsworth, IL; her great grandchildren, Zachary and Nathan; and her sisters, Louise Wright, Edith Trent, Hallie (Bill) Roope.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; granddaughter, Rhonda; brothers and sisters, James Godsey, Herschel Godsey, Marjorie Campbell, Harold Godsey, Elezebeth Godsey and William Godsey.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at RINGA FUNERAL HOME, 122 S. Rte. 83 (Milwaukee Ave), Lake Villa, IL, 60046 (two blocks south of Rte. 132/Grand Ave.) with Rev. Lisle Kauffman officiating. Interment North Shore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL. Visitation Monday 5 to 8 PM.

Jack Peterson
Jack Peterson, 53, of Louisville, KY passed away Thursday at Norton Suburban Hospital. He was born in Minnesota, and was a systems analyst for E.D.S.
Jack served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Atkinson-Peterson; a son, Andy Peterson (Kimberly), a daughter, Elizabeth Peterson; his mother, Dorothy K. Peterson; sister, Julie Peterson (McCray) and 3 grandchildren, Nathan Cavallo, Miranda and Ryan Peterson.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday at his church, 5505 Bardstown Road, with burial at 11:00 am Wednesday C.D.T. at Mt. Olivett memorial Park in Zion, Illinois. Visitation will be from 3-8:00 pm Sunday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Memorial gifts may be directed to Habitat for Humanity.

Craig James Powers
Craig James Powers, age 45, of Grays-lake, Illinois, died August 19, 2004 at Manor Care in Libertyville. He was born December 28, 1958 in Calumet City, Illinois.
Mr. Powers was a member of Village Church of Gurnee. He was manager of Advanced Auto Parts in Kenosha, WI.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen; children, Nicole, Melissa, Brittany; a sister, Tamara; his mother, Adrianne; his father, James; and his grandmother, Gertrude Izarra.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 23 at 7 PM with visitation from 3 to 7 PM at Village Church of Gurnee, 1319 Hunt Club Rd., Gurnee, IL. Burial at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville. Arrangements by MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd. (847) 336-0127

Nancy Ray Razio
Nancy Ray Razio, 48 of North Chicago, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Vista St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan.
She was born May 4, 1956 in Carrollton, IL.
Nancy had been employed as a Data Technician with the North Chicago Police Department for the last 16 years. She was a member of the Service Employees International Union Local #73 AFL-CIO.
Survivors include one daughter, Penny Seidel of Apopka, FL; and one son, Robert (Angie) Walz of Alton, IL; one brother, Rick Wellhausen of Carrollton, IL; and one sister, Christy Watz of St. Louis, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and interment will be private.
Arrangements were under the care of the SALATA-GURNEE FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee.

Aaron E. Siegel, 23 died August 18, 2004 in Arizona. Beloved son of Myron Siegel and Charlotte Siegel. Devoted brother of Aliza "Liz", Aliya "Leah" and Ariel Siegel. Cherished grandson of William Holley.

James F. Kane
James A. Kane, 82, of Highland Park, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2006 at Lake Forest Hospital. Born September 22, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York he has been a resident of Highland Park for 80 years. He graduated from Highland Park High School class of 1942 and then went off to serve his country during World War II in the Army-Air Corp. attaining the rank of Corporal. After the war he worked at Ft. Sheridan as a maintenance engineer.
He is preceded in death by his twin brother, of William F. Kane Jr; and his parents, William F. and Ellen Kane Sr.
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 from 5 to 8 PM, at SEGUIN & SYMONDS FUNERAL HOME, 858 Sheridan Rd., Highwood. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Aug 23, 2006 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood. John R. Lush
John R. Lush, 91, a lifetime resident of Zion, died on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, IL.
He was born March 6, 1915 in Zion and married Maryon Wilson on September 18, 1936, in Zion. John was a member of the Christ Community Church, Zion. He was formerly employed as a Chief Inspector for Nash Motors in Kenosha, during World War II, and was retired from Fansteel Corporation in North Chicago. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Maryon; two children, Bette Jo (Gordon) Ohmstead of Zion and Brad Lush and Jude Fletcher-Lush of Zion; four grandchildren, Lisa (Andrew) Hollard, Jeff (Dionne) Ohmstead, Amy Meadows and Andrea (Leo) Barnes; five great-grandchildren, Duncan and and Aidan Hollard, Jackson Ohmstead, and Ezekiel and Zoe Barnes.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr., Zion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Camp Zion Ministry or to the Passion Play of the Christ Community Church.

John Phillip Wilkins Jr.
John Phillip Wilkins Jr., 61, of Waukegan, passed away Friday, August 18, 2006 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born February 3, 1945 in Washington, D.C.
John was a U.S. Navy veteran, and he was a member of Zion Faith Homes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue; two daughters, Sue Long and Rachel Maresh; grandchildren, Lara and Ryan Maresh, Brandy, Jessica, Catherine and Sabrina Long; two brothers, Jim (Sandy) Wilkins and Jess (Dell) Wilkins; a sister, Linda (Jim) Marek; nieces, nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

Catherine "Kay" Stanczak (nee Kennedy)
Catherine "Kay" Stanczak (nee Kennedy), 81 of Gurnee, beloved wife of Sam, loving mother of Terrie Hemmings and Mike (Janet) Stanczak, dear grandmother of Mike, Jr., and Tom went home to Heaven on August 20, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandmother, Hannah Miller.
Kay blessed her loved ones with unconditional love, encouragement and loyalty. She shared her faith and loved the Lord. Kay knew her salvation was a guaranteed gift of grace from God through Christ's death and Resurrection. She had fought the good fight.

Kay was a Registered Nurse, a consummate professional who worked at Abbott Laboratories in the Employee Health Department as Corporate Supervisor of Nursing Service and Health Administration from 1956-1990. She was a Pioneer in her field as a woman professional. She received her BS Degree from The College of St. Francis. During 1976 Kay was the first President of the Lakeland Association of Occupational Health Nurses. She served two terms as President of the Illinois Association of Occupational Health Nurses and she was also a Red Cross Disaster Nurse. She served in numerous organizations including The American Cancer Society where she was on the Board of Directors in Lake County from 1990-1993. Kay was an avid reader, she loved people and championed the underdog and believed nothing was impossible with God's grace and one's own determination. She and her husband loved animals inheriting numerous pets "adopted" or dragged home by her children. She especially loved Sabrina a Miniature Poodle who, like her master, had the heart and courage of a lion.
Kay and her husband loved to travel and she and Sam were charter members of St. Paul The Apostle Church where they were Eucharistic Ministers and Ministers of Care.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10AM Thursday, August 24, 2006 at St. Paul The Apostle Church. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville.
Friends may call at The Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee from 5-8PM on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 and from 9-10AM Thursday at St. Paul The Apostle Church.
