Joseph D. Titus
Joseph D. Titus, 97 years old of Antioch, Illinois passed away Sunday, April 1, 2001 at Provena St. Therese Hospital, Waukegan, IL. He was born September 1, 1903 in Weedsport, N.Y., the son of the late Jonathan and Sarah (Bowen) Titus. Joe lived and worked in the Chicago area before moving permanently to Antioch in 1968. He graduated from Union College in Schenectady in N.Y.; served in the U.S. Navy as a Lt. Commander during WW II and was an executive with Swift and Co. in Chicago, working there for 38 years and retiring in 1968. His many membership and affiliations included the Sequoit Masonic Lodge #827 A.F. & A.M. and the 885 Club of Antioch, the Northern IL. Conservation Club, Lakes Regional Historical Society, A.A.R.P., and the United Methodist Church of Antioch. He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Weedsport, N.Y. and the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago.
Survivors include his nephew Fred T. (Adele) Croft of Grand Haven, MI., and his niece Sally Davenport of Fulton, MO., grand nieces and nephews, Molly, Emily, David and Cindy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Marjorie (Hunter) Sneed and Jan (James) Croft.
As he requested, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL. 60607 or the Antioch Public Library District, 757 Main St., Antioch, IL. 60002 in his memory. Arrangements entrusted to the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH.
Louis Bartlett
Louis D. Bartlett, 96, died March 31, 2001 at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility after an extended illness.
He was a retired tool grinder with Onsrud Cutter in Libertyville, IL. He was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, Elsie Pearce Bartlett of Baldwyn; two daughters: Peggy L. Butler of Texas and Annie pate of Florida; a son, Marc Bartlett of Illinois; a sister, Birdie Anderson of Louisiana; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pall bearers will be Chris Blair, Jeffrey Blair, Greg Nehib, Mike Deruby, Anthony Andro, Marc A. Bartlett.
A special thanks to Mrs. Shirley Roberts, Mrs. Dorothy Hill, Norma White, Virginia Hall, Dean and Jennie Pearce, Billy Wayne, and Brenda Pearce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Lillian Melson, Maggie Tapp, Ruby White, and Effie Houston; two brothers, Les Bartlett and Bob Bartlett.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel with Bro. Keith Gaughf officiating. Burial will be in the Lebanon cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday night from 5-8 p.m.
Rachel Mae Collymore
Rachel Mae Grashen Penny Collymore, 78, of Waukegan, quietly and peacefully laid down her cross and accepted her crown on Saturday, March 31, 2001 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home, Zion.
She was born September 12, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Josephine and James Grashen. Together, the Grashen family traveled to Lake County in 1929 and made their home in Zion where Rachel grew up, graduated from the Zion Schools and later attended Barat College in Lake Forest. She had a profound love for teaching children and for music which she pursued throughout her lifetime. She played a very active part in the Zion Passion Play for many years and she taught at Happy Day Nursery School in Waukegan for 16 years. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and for many years she worked with the children in the churches throughout Zion, Waukegan and North Chicago. Her great gift for teaching expanded to Hempstead, Long Island, New York where she worked with the children at Hofstra University, where she served on the Board of Directors of Christ First Presbyterian Church of Hempstead and where she played an active part in helping to form Happy Day Nursery School in Hempstead.
Survivors include her children, Robert S. Penny of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Donald J. (Angela) Penny and Carol Joyce Penny both of Waukegan and Kenneth W. (Michelle) Penny of Springfield, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; a brother, Harold James (Minnie) Grashen of Waukegan; and a sister, Ruth Mary (Charles) Grashen Kelly of Monroe, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alexander Sterling Penny; her second husband, Chester W. Collymore; her father and mother, James and Josephine Grashen; two sons, David Eugene Penny and Phillip Lawrence Penny; a sister, Rhoda E. Brown; and a brother, Paul Theodore Grashen.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2001 at 4 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment services at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion will be held later and will be private for the family.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 until 4 PM at the funeral home.
Beverly J. Lavallee
Beverly J. Lavallee, 62, of Genoa City, WI passed away Sunday, April 1, 2001 at St. Luke Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI.
She was born February 18, 1939 in Fitchburg, MA, the daughter of the late Leland and Grace Marie (Abel) Brooks.
She moved to Spring Grove, IL in 1972 and later lived in California moving to Wisc. in 1987. Beverly was a machine operator at Badger Cork in Trevor, WI and had been a security guard prior. She loved to read, play bingo and swim and was a member of A.A.R.P.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam (Tim) Blair of Lake Villa, IL and Karen (Tom) Sparks of Genoa City, WI; a son, Mark Lavallee of Genoa City, WI; and three grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 5, 2001 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME, 1055 MAIN ST. (RTE. 83), Antioch, IL with The Rev. Gary L. Curl of the United Methodist Church of Antioch officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter cemetery, Spring Grove, IL.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 AM Thursday until the time of services.
Kathryn K. Lucas
Kathryn K. Lucas, 71, of Gurnee, Illinois, passed away April 1, 2001 at Victory Lakes Nursing Home. She was born August 8, 1929 in Yokohama, Japan.
She served as an Accountant for United Airlines for 28 years. During her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering for 10 years at Winchester House Nursing Home, Libertyville, Illinois.
Survivors include 1 sister Fusae Ito of Yokohama, Japan, 2 nephews: Masaru (Hiroko) Ito and Nobuyoki (Kyoko) Ito, 1 sister-in-law Velma Farmen of Waukegan, IL., loving friends Lucey Mikrut and her son Charles and the John and Panki Thomas family of Gurnee and Carolyn Yojo of Franklin Park, IL., and by many neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur M. Lucas.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at 10:00A.M. at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL. (847) 336-0127. Alicia C. MacAllister
Alicia C. MacAllister, 85, of Libertyville, Illinois passed away Thursday, March 29, 2001 at the Kenosha Hospital in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was born January 3, 1916 in Berlin, Germany and came to live in the United States as a child. Alicia was raised in Chicago and has lived in Libertyville for the past 12 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Libertyville.
Surviving are her daughter Yvonne MacAllister of Kenosha; 3 grandchildren: Mark (Roberta) Hartwick of Elkhorn, WI., Antoinette Rodriguez of Beaver Dam, WI., and Alicia MacAllister of Kenosha. She was preceded in death by her husband John W. MacAllister, Jr., her son John W. III, by a sister Gertrude, a brother Oswald and her parents Rudolph and Alvina Franzke.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2001 at St. Mary's Lutheran Church in Kenosha. Interment will follow at Irving Park cemetery in Chicago. Stella Pearl Matijevich
Stella Pearl Matijevich, (nee Aiuppy), 77, of Zion, Illinois died Friday, March 30, 2001 at her home.
Stella was born March 21, 1924 in Zion, the daughter of the late Ross and Lulu Aiuppy, and had lived in North Chicago for many years. She was a member of Christ Communtiy Church in Zion and the Christian Women's Ministry of the church.
Stella is survived by two sisters, Lu Wimmer and Sadie Stahl, both of Zion; a brother, John (Mary) Aiuppy of Meadville, Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; and great great nieces and great great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; a sister, Rose Strawmatt; and two brothers, Joseph and Charles Aiuppy.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2001 at 10:30 AM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastors Jon Wiziarde and Michael Wimmer officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.

Cecilio (Chilo) Mendoza
Cecilio (Chilo) Mendoza, age 63, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away March 28, 2001 at St. Therese Hospital. He was born November 22, 1937 in Mexico. He was a member of Holy Family Church.
Survivors include his seven children: Cecilio Jr. (Lisa), Joe (Elizabeth), Agnes (Adrian) Villarreal, Ester (Gildardo) Arizmendi, Alex (Deana), Janie Mendoza and Richard, 7 brothers and sisters, Marja Alvarado of Waukegan, Mary Medina, Angie Cervantes, Josie Gonzales, Martha Mendoza, Isabel Pacheco and Raymond Mendoza, all of Texas, 23 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Family East. Burial will be private. Visitation will be at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN, from 3-9 P.M. Tuesday April 3, 2001 and also 8:30-9:30 Wednesday, April 4, 2001.
Anna M. Moulis
Anna M. Moulis, 85, of Fox Lake, Illinois passed away at her home on Sunday, April 1, 2001.
She was born in Riverside, Illinois on June 28, 1915, the daughter of the late Marian and Herman Halbert. She was a long time member of the Fox Lake Community, spending the summers as a child at the family cottage and becoming a permanent resident in 1951. She was a member of St. Bede Catholic Church. She was the past president of the Altar and Rosary Society. Together with her husband, Joseph, she owned and operated Chain O'Lakes Marina in Fox Lake and later assisted her three sons managing Fox Lake Harbor Marina, Fox Lake. During her free time, she delighted in loving and caring for her 8 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Joseph, her children Joseph (Donna) of Phillips, WI., John (Marlene) of Johnsburg, IL., and James (Susan) of Johnsburg, IL., her grandchildren Stephen (Rhonda), Susan (Ryan) Laskey and David (Leah) and Warren (Norine and Vicki (Bobbi) McKay and Melissa (Steve) Banazynski and James; her ten great grandchildren and her sister Cecilia "Toots" Tomec. She was preceded in death by her grandson, John Victor Moulis, and her sisters Catherine Heinz and Harriet Halbert, and her brother Jack Halbert.
Funeral Services will be at 9:15 A.M. Thursday, April 5, 2001 from RINGA FUNERAL HOME, 122 S. Rte 83 (Milwaukee Ave) Lake Villa, IL., to St. Bede Catholic Church, Ingleside, IL. for a 10:00 A.M. Andrew G. Barr
Andrew G. Barr, 19 years old, of Antioch, IL, passed away Monday, April 2, 2001, at Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan, IL.
He was born March 12, 1982 in Waukegan, the son of Gerald and Barbara (Reed) Barr. He graduated from Antioch Community High School in 2000 and was currently a student at the Cooking & Hospitality Institute of Chicago in the Cordon Bleu Program. He had worked at Pizza Plus in Antioch for the past four years.
Survivors include his parents, Gerald and Barbara of Antioch; a brother, Greg, at home; his maternal grandmother, Jill Reed of Streamwood, IL; his paternal grandfather, Gerald Barr, of Fox Lake, IL.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lois Barr.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2001 at STRANG FUNERAL HOME, 1055 Mail St. (Rt. 83, Antioch, with Pastor Daniel Sheridan of Grace Community Church of Lake Villa officiating. Interment will be in Hillside cemetery, Antioch.

Joseph T. Fausset
Joseph T. Fausset, 43, of Waukegan, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2001 at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center.
Joseph was born on May 14, 1957 in Rushville, IN, the son of Guy M. and Maxine B. (nee Hughes) Fausset. He was a Funeral Director who was part owner of the Thornburg Funeral Home in Parker City, IN.
Joseph leaves two sisters, Mary (Louis) Brydges of Grayslake and Judith (Bill) Stecher of Nobelsville, IN; two brothers, John Fausset of Lafayette, IN and James (Debra) Fausset of Shirley, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
A Memorial Service and Reception will be held at 7 PM Monday, April 9, 2001 at the Brydges Family Restaurant, 3035 Belvidere Rd, Waukegan, IL, 60085. Memorials may be made in Joseph's name to the Indiana University Medical Center, 550 University Blvd, Indianapolis, IN, 46202.

John H. Loebbaka
John H. Loebbaka, 63, a Fox Lake resident for the past 22 years, formerly of Wilmette, IL died on Saturday, March 31, 2001 at his home.
He was born in Wilmette, IL on June 11, 1937, the son of John and Fannie Loebbaka (nee Paulen).
Mr. Loebbaka was an auto mechanic and the former owner of a service station in Skokie, Illinois. He was a member of the Lakes Region American Legion Post, Assistant Scout Leader for the Fox Lake Troop 87 having obtained the status of the Order of the Arrow, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Connie R. Loebbaka (nee Green); his sons, Randy Loebbaka of Evanston and John Paul Loebbaka of Brookfield; his daughters, Kathy (Michael) Barry of Edwards, Colorado, Rene` (Mark Groz) Andre` and Holly (Danny) Gonzales, all of Evanston; seven grandsons; five granddaughters; his sister, Juanita Vanderlip of McComb, Mississippi; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives also survive.
Visitations will be held from 4 to 9 PM on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at the K. K. HAMSHER FUNERAL HOME, LTD, 12 N. Felix "Mac" McNally
Felix "Mac" McNally, 70, of Fox Lake died on Saturday, March 31, 2001 at Northern Illinois Medical Center.
He was born and raised at his Fox Lake residence, living his entire life at the family residence until illness sent him for medical care at the hospital.
He was born on December 6, 1930 to James and Anne (nee Millar) McNally.
He graduated from Grant High School with the Class of 1948. Mr. McNally was a retired Engineer, having worked for Milwaukee Railroad Metra for 27 years. He was a former Captain of Rescue with the Fox Lake Rescue Fire Department and former Village Trustee under the administration of Joseph Armondo and Mayor. Prior to his railroad employment, he owned McNally Taping Company in Fox Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (nee Zak) McNally of Fox Lake; his sons, Mike (Sue) McNally of Fox Lake and Timothy McNally of Ingleside; his daughter, Kathy (PT) Chaisorn of Elkhorn, Wisc; his grandchildren, Kim (Larry) VanHoorelbeke of Spring Grove; Brian (Jennifer) McNally of Ingleside, Brandon Chaisorn of Elkhorn, Wisc, Deedra Gendrich of Arizona, and Ryne and Paige McNally both of Fox Lake; two great grandchildren, Shawn and Steven; his former wife, Betty Niemi; and nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Jim and Andy.
