Anthony "Snake" Miller, age 35, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away August 16, 2001 in Waukegan. He was born August 12, 1966.
Survivors include his mother, Anna Tuquabo of Waukegan, 2 sisters: Gina (James) Swan of Waukegan and Felicia Miller of Waukegan; 2 brothers: Matthew Tuquabo of Waukegan and Glen Johnson of North Chicago, 1 uncle Julian (Mary Anne) Miller of Waukegan, and 2 aunts: Lillie (Jessie Orsey of North Chicago and Mary Miller of Waukegan. He was preceded in death by his father, grandfather 2 uncles and 1 cousin.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2001 at 10:30 A.M. at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN, 1521 Washington St. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery, Zion, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. only at the funeral home.
Obdulio Moreno
Obdulio Moreno, 68, of Mundelein, IL, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born December 5, 1932 in Bogota, Colombia and came to live in the United States in 1960. He was a former resident of Evanston and Arlington Heights and has lived in Mundelein for the past seven years. He was a member of St. Mary of Vernon Parish in Indian Creek and was a retired Data Processing Manger for the Ram Golf Corp. in Melrose Park.
Surviving are his wife, Joan Moreno; four children, Henado (Carmen) Moreno of Wauconda, Stella (Monte) Sellers of Arlington Heights, Alfredo Moreno of River Forest and David Moreno of Englewood, CO; five grandchildren, Dieter, Carsten and Simone Moreno; Stephanie and Kyle Sellers; six sisters, Marina, Isabel, Mary, Lilia, Cecelia and Miriam.
Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. Friday, August 24 at BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave., (Rt. 176) Libertyville and services will continue to St. Mary of Vernon Parish for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery. Moy How Ng
Moy How Ng, 89, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at St. Lukes Hospital in Milwaukee.
She was born June 11, 1912 in Canton, China and had been an area resident for 50 years.
She and her late husband, Bing Hugh Ng were the original owners of the Ho Wah Restaurant, which was located in the Genesee Building in downtown Waukegan for many years.
She is survived by her son, Kenny (Sue) Ng of Skokie, IL.; grandchildren Stanley Ng of Skokie, Roy Ng of Skokie, Joy (Mike) Adams of Winthrop Harbor and Joyce (Dean) Wasserman of Gurnee; 2 great grandchildren: Christina and Patrick Adams; also by nieces and nephews as well as her son in law Park Lew of Waukegan. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Low Gene Lew.

Andrew "Andy" Norwood
Andrew "Andy" Norwood of Waukegan, Illinois passed away August 18, 2001 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late Andrew, Sr. and Elizabeth Norwood in May of 1937 in Waukegan. Andrew worked and retired from Goodyear.
Andrew is survived by one son,Arron Drew, three daughters: Rita; Anita and Sonja and eight grandchildren, all of Bakerfield, CA., two brothers, Wilford (Bessie) Norwood of North Chicago and James D. Norwood of Toledo, Ohio, one sister Helen Norwood Ward of Dallas, TX., a host of nieces and nephews and two special friends, Carrie Hawkins and Leonard Gaston. He was preceded in death by his wife Bette Norwood, his father Andrew Norwood Sr., his mother Elizabeth Leggs Norwood and one sister Mildred Norwood Hoard.

Merlin Otto Petroff Sr.
Merlin Otto Petroff Sr., 90, of Ingleside Care Center in Hockessin, DE. and formerly of Round Lake, died August 19, 2001 at Christiana Care Hospital in Wilmington, DE.
He was born on March 6, 1911 in Clare, MI. On April 25, 1935 he married
Margaret A. Petroff in Cleveland, OH.
Born in Michigan, Mr. Petroff was educated at the University of Florida and also in Colorado. He was an electrical engineer with Collins Radio in Iowa during WWII, and then with Stewart Warner Company for over eight years in Chicago. In 1951 he opened his own consulting and inventing firm, Petroff Laboratories in Grayslake, which he ran for over 20 years. His most personally gratifying invention was an electronic organ he designed for the Kimball Piano Company. After retiring from consulting, he had a second career as a Realtor in the greater Round Lake area.
Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Elizabeth (Dr. Richard Pioli) Petroff of Amherst, MA, and Elinore (Frederick) Barney of Hockessin, DE; his son, Merlin O. (Susan) Petroff, Jr. of Fort Washington, MD; five grandchildren, Stephen Jordan, Scott (Ruth) Jordan, Amanda (Patrick) Jordan-Chiste, Alissa Jordan and Anna Petroff, a step-grandchild Ann Barney; four great-grandchildren: Cody Jordan, Cameron Chiste, Kesari Lynne Petroff, and Alexxi Petroff; and 2 step-great grandchildren: Christina Jones and Sarah Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret A. Petroff on January 25, 1997; and his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2001 at Avon Centre cemetery in Grayslake.

Eleanor A. Polinski
Eleanor A. Polinski, 77 years old of Antioch, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2001 peacefully in East Troy, WI. Eleanor was born the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Battersby on March 21, 1924 in Chicago. She later moved to Fox Lake, then Arizona in 1952, and to Antioch in 1972. Eleanor had worked as a coil winder and later as a supervisor for the TV Lavatory in Wauconda for many years. She was a member of St. Peter Church in Antioch and loved to play bingo. On June 21, 1941 she married
Edward Polinski in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death on October 18, 1990.
Survivors include her three sons, Edward (Ruth) of East Troy, WI, Ricky Lee (Patricia) of Garden Grove, CA, and Gary (Loretta) of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Howard Battersby of Chicago; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister and eight brothers.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, August 25, 2001 at the Strang Funeral Home 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL. Entombment will be in Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, IL. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Vince Lombarde Cancer Center in her memory.
Art Revis
Art Revis, 77, formerly of Zion and presently of Chicago Heights, died August 17, 2001 at the Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Art was born September 5, 1923 in Waukegan to the late Charles and Flora Revis, attended the Zion schools and served in the Army Corps of Engineers during WW II. He owned and operated Comfort Engineering in Zion for many years, and retired as an insurance agent and mortgage broker. Art also considered himself an inventor, and at one time was an officer in the Inventors Council of Iowa.
Art is survived by his wife, Angela; five children: Susan (Rick) Parks of Florida, Nelson Revis of Minnesota, George (Xingming Song) Revis of Waukegan, Cynthia Lu Cowsert of Springfield, MO., and Walter (Jennifer) Revis of Libertyville, IL.; four grandchildren: Kathleen Cowsert and Stephen, Geoffrey and Lisa Revis; and three brothers: Charles (Dorothy) Revis of Zion, Cal (Elsie) Revis of Waukegan and John (Linnea) Revis of Horsehoe Bend, AR. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Revis.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2001 at 11:30 A.M. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Visitation after 10:30 A.M. Saturday. Please omit flowers.
Ruth C. Sloman
Ruth C. Sloman, 93, of Lindenhurst, died Tuesday, August 21, 2001, at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center. She was born April 15, 1908 in Ocanto, WI.
She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church, the Waukegan Womens Club. Ruth also belonged to many Bridge Clubs.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Keith) Solko; four grandchildren, Tiffany Topcik, Terri (Scott) Hardin, Trisha (Terry) Musich, Tim Topcik; seven great grandchildren, T.J. , Travis and Tracie Musich, Ian and Alexis Hardin, Trevor and Tyler Topcik; one sister, Harriet Bishop; a nephew Bob Anderson, and niece Betty Brown and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and John Cook; her husband Edgar C. Sloman
Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2001 at the 1st United Methodist Church in Waukegan.
Burial will be private.

David Thomas Sloop
David Thomas Sloop, 33, of Waukegan died Tuesday, August 21, 2001 in Provena St. Therese Medical Center.
He was born March 9, 1968 in North Kingston, RI. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
David was a plumber by trade having worked for Water Tight Plumbing in Beach Park. David was a free spirit who viewed life as a marvelous adventure. He found joy in hobbies and sports such as boxing, skateboarding, roller blading, snow boarding and motorcycling.
Survivors include his mother, Charron Sloop, Waukegan; father, David (Sharron) Sloop, Yadkinville, NC; two sisters, Cindy and Michelle Sloop; a nephew, Brandon; a niece, Miranda; and an aunt, Rene Davern.
Funeral Mass Friday, August 24, 2001 at 10 AM in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment, Ascension cemetery.

Brian P. Curtis
Brian P. Curtis, 26, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away suddenly, Monday August 19, 2002 from an accidental fall while hiking in the Superstition Mountains near Apache Junction, AZ. He was born September 23, 1975 in Greer, S.C. and moved to Libertyville in 1984. He was a 1994 graduate of Libertyville High School and after completing a year at Bradley University in Peoria, transferred to Arizona State in Tempe. He was a 1999 Magna cum Laude graduate of Arizona State with a degree in Psychology. Brian was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville and his interests were fishing, martial arts, hiking and camping.
Surviving are his parents, Jim and Jane Curtis, a brother Stephen and sister Leslie, all of Libertyville, his grandfather Ross Curtis of Ames, Iowa and Aunt Nina (Richard) Murphy of Redondo Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie Curtis and Victor and Orpha Vermillion.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2002 at the First Presbyterian Church, Maple and Douglas Avenues, Libertyville. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Memorial contributions can be made to the Audobon Society in his memory.
Willard J. "Bud" Evans
Willard J. "Bud" Evans, 60, of Libertyville, IL, at rest, Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at Evanston Hospital. He was born August 23, 1941 on a farm in Waukesha, WI, was a graduate of Northwestern University and a member of Hope Church of Lake County, where he served as Financial Director. Mr. Evans retired as chief financial officer of ANGus Chemical Corp. in Northbrook, now a part of Dow Chemical Company, and was a longtime employee of the IMC Corp.
Mr. Evans was the beloved husband of Donna; proud father of Jennifer (Andreas) Yankopolus and Jessica (Jason) Eyre, both of Atlanta, GA; cherished brother of Mary Myers of Chicago; dear uncle of Marsha (Robert) Eldridge of Cincinnati, OH and great uncle of Katie, Tori and Austin.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 23 followed by a time of fellowship, at the Hope Church of Lake County, 1512 Artaius Parkway, near the Libertyville Post Office.
