Tessie Sims, age 83 of Milwaukee, WI formerly of Waukegan, IL for many years, passed away on August 19, 2006 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospice in Milwaukee, WI.
She was born May 26, 1923 in Waukegan, IL.
Miss Sims retired from the Great Lakes Naval Base, Great Lakes, IL following 30 years of service. She was later employed at Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. She later made Milwaukee her home. She was a member of the Israel of God's Church, Racine, WI.
She is survived by a son, Reginald (Cherie) Sims of Milwaukee, WI; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Nixon; her parents and siblings.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bradshaw & Range Funeral Home, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL. John G. Colis, loving companion of Carmen Domingo; devoted son of the late George and Toula Colis; dear brother of Peter (Nancy) Colis and the late Faye Zettas; devoted nephew of Sen. Adeline Geo-Karis; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Rev. Curtis H. Foss
Rev. Curtis H. Foss, of Wadsworth, was born September 4, 1935 in Windom, MN to Walter L. and Helen (nee Kroeker) Foss. He died August 20, 2006 in Waukegan.
Pastor Curt Foss dedicated over 50 years to ministry and teaching. He passionately and faithfully invested his life in a multitude of people and served in the following ministries: Chico Free Church, California, Kenosha Bible Church, Kenosha WI, Turlock Free Church, Turlock CA, Sterling Free Church, Sterling CO, Lake Region Bible Church, Round Lake IL, Assistant Superintendent, Great Lakes District, Fox River Grove IL, Canton Free Church, Canton IL, Chinese Evangelical Free Church, Arlington Heights IL, Grace Missionary Church, Zion IL, Grace Community Church, Schiller Park IL and Beach Bible, Zion IL.
Rev. Foss is survived by his wife, Martha (nee Wager); his daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Kennedy of West Chicago and Julie (Todd) Langmade of Mahtomedi, MN; his grandchildren, Kevin Curtis, Ryan Michael, Tara Lynn, Thomas "TJ" Patrick, and Alyssa Jean; his brothers, Wendell (Emily), Mark (Jeanette) and Gilbert (Trudi) Foss; his brother-in-law, Allen (Lynn) Carlson; and his sister-in-law, Eloise Foss
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Miriam Carlson, Edward Foss, and Lester Foss.

Mary C. Wells
Mary C. Wells, 87 years old of Antioch, IL, recently Ft. McDowell, AZ passed away Saturday, August 19, 2006 at her daughter's home in Arizona. She was born August 28, 1918 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of the late Carlo and Rosaria (Scaffidi) Zello, moving to AZ in 2005. Mary was a 1949 graduate of St. Therese School of Nursing in Waukegan and had worked as a pediatric nurse until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of St. Peter Church of Antioch, the Council of Catholic Women, past president of the Oakland School PTA, member of the Antioch Women's Club, the Homemakers and was a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, reading, singing, baking and cooking.
On December 1, 1951 she married
Richard Wells at St. Peter Church in Antioch.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Richard; her children, Elaine Wells (Jeff Norden) of Cookeville, TN, Carol Wells (Gerald Callaghan) of Wilmette, IL, Marlene Wells (Charles Bay) of Los Altos, CA, Nancy Wells of Chamblee, GA, Gloria Wells (Phurba) of Ft. McDowell, AZ and Edward (Maureen) Wells of Wildwood, MO; ten grandchildren; and one sister, Angela Stumpf of Phoenix, AZ.
In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, Ben, Sam, Tony and her sister, Joan.
Funeral services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 26, 2006 at St. Peter Church, 557 Lake St., Antioch, IL. Interment will follow in Hickory Union cemetery, Newport Twsp, IL. Visitation will be held at STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main ST. JoAnn A. Wagner
JoAnn A. Wagner, 55 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Sunday, August 20, 2006 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, Zion, IL. She was born February 28, 1951 in Chicago the daughter of the late Agner and Maxine (Schuler) Larsen.
She had lived in Grayslake before moving to Antioch in 1975. JoAnn was the manager of the Grizzly Saloon in Bristol, WI, she had worked with special need children at Glenkirk in Grayslake, answered the hotline for LACASA in Waukegan, and had a floral business in her home called 'Special Days'. She enjoyed shopping, trap shooting, playing bean bags, floral designing, spending time with her grandchildren and she was a friend to everyone.
On September 26, 1970 she married
Eugene A. Wagner at St. Gilbert Church in Grayslake, IL.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Gene; her son, Gene (his fiancée, Chrissy Thomas) of Bristol, WI; her daughter, Melissa (Mark) Sosnoski of Wadsworth, IL; her two grandchildren, Kayla and Mark, Jr.; her step-father, Don Smolarik of Bristol, WI; her brothers, Jeff (Pam) Larsen of Antioch, Bill Larsen of Fox Lake, IL and Denny (Michelle) Larsen of Chicago; her sister-in-law, Joanne Pawloski of Grayslake, IL, and her close friends, Jan Powell of Kansasville, WI and Kathy Teigland of Bristol, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Mike and John.

Peter G. Herchenbach
Peter G. Herchenbach, 18, of Libertyville died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family.
Peter was born September 5, 1987 in Cincinnati, OH and had lived in Libertyville for the past seven years. He graduated from Libertyville High School this past May where he was a four year member of the varsity tennis team. He was planning to attend Valparaiso and Lake Forest Colleges.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Nancy (nee Kelly) Herchenbach; his sisters, Nellie and Rosemary; and his grandmothers, Judy (the late Bill) Herchenbach and Mary Ellen (the late Dr. Larry) Kelly.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Saturday, August 26, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 East Maple St., Libertyville. Interment will be private. Visitation Friday from 4 to 8 PM and Saturday from 9 to 9:30 AM at McMURROUGH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 101 Park Place, Libertyville (Rt. 176, 1 blk East of Milwaukee Ave.). "Elle" was preceded in death by her oldest son "Chic", her brother Cyril and her parents Grace and Erwin Atkinson.

Mary Helen Brackett
Mary Helen Brackett, 96, of Lindenhurst and formerly of Waukegan passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Victory Lakes Care Center. She was born January 29, 1906 in Duluth, MN and had been an area resident for most of her life. Prior to her retirement she had worked at the Waukegan Public Library for 20 years.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Lois (John) Sisty of Asheville, North Carolina and Anna Marie (Fred) Abdula of Waukegan; grandchildren, Linda, Lisa, Patrick, Michael, Patricia Ann, Mary Ann, Jo Ann, Margaret, John, Tom, Susan, Karen, Michael, Amy, David; as well as 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Reed Brackett and her son, Thomas Reed Brackett, Jr.

Michael E. Godwin
Michael E. Godwin, 53, of Libertyville died August 22, 2002 at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born April 25, 1949 in Waukegan and was a life long Lake County resident. Mr. Godwin was Senior Vice President of Harris Trust and Savings Bank. He was the former President of Harris Bank, Libertyville. He was also the former Board President and Member of Youth and Family Counseling of Libertyville. He was a member of the St. Joseph Church Parish Council and had served on the Board of Directors for Main Street, Libertyville and Puerta Abierta of Mundelein. He received his bachelor of science degree in accounting in 1971 from the University of Illinois. He received his masters in business administration from the University of Chicago in 1983. He was a life long sports fan who loved golfing, fishing, the Chicago Bears and the White Sox. He also coached his daughters' soccer teams and his sons' little league teams for 10 years. He was an avid photographer who was rarely seen without his camera.
He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Dhom); sons Christopher (Kara Foehrkolb) and Casey; his daughters Emily and Molly; his sisters Joann Jezak of Elgin and Michele (George) Harrison of Skokie; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Josephine; his brother James and his sister Betty Jo.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 26 from MCMURROUGH CHAPEL, 101 Park Place, Libertyville to St. Joseph Church for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Lakeside cemetery in Libertyville. Josephine E. Keefe
Josephine E. Keefe, 99, of Waukegan, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at her home. She was born May 7, 1903 in Chicago and was a resident of Waukegan for 75 years.
Survivors include a daughter Sharon (Gordon) Duncan of Antioch; a son Gerry (Mary) Keefe of Gurnee; loving grandmother of Darrin (Christy) Keefe of Waukegan, Garret Keefe of Miami, FL and Nicole Keefe of Lindenhurst; 5 great grandchildren; 1 brother Stanley (Agnes) Flamank of Libertyville; several nieces, nephews and her caregivers. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Keefe, 1 brother and 1 sister.

Kenneth L. Morris, MD
Kenneth L. Morris, MD, 86, of Lake Forest and formerly of Waukegan passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Lake Forest Place. He was born June 11, 1916 in Zion, IL and remained a lifelong area resident. He was an Army veteran of WW II serving as a captain in Africa, Italy and France, member of Victory Memorial Hospital Staff, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Director of Lake County Children's Orthopedic Clinic, Fellow in surgery at Mayo Clinic, member of the Mayo Foundation, past president of the Priestly Society, member of Dr's Mayo Society, past president of the Lake County Medical Society, Director at Bank of Waukegan and Director at First Federal Savings and Loan, member of Medinah Temple Shrine and the Scottish Rite, member of Honest Johns Breakfast Club. Dr. Morris practiced medicine in Waukegan for 30 years, retiring in 1972. After his retirement from medicine he served as chairman and president of NOSCO.
He is survived by his wife, Susie (nee Tornquist); 2 daughters, Penny Vasileff of Anchorage, Alaska and Candi (Mike) Kelly of Ames, Iowa and 1 son, John Morris of West Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren, Emily Vasileff of Chicago, IL, Kip Kelly of Columbus, OH and Kit Kelly of Ames, IA; his sister-in-law, Hazel Percy of Lake Forest and also by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Annie (nee Mayfield) Morris, Sr., 2 brothers, George W. Morris, Jr. and Leslie Morris and 1 sister, Lillian Morris Fales.
