Rebecca Dick (McMillan) died on September 15th in Austin, Texas at age 55. She was born at Ft. Sheridan Hospital and attended Waukegan schools, graduating from Waukegan Township High School in 1967.
Rebecca enrolled at Illinois Wesleyan University and graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1971.
She married
Paul Dick in 1972 and they moved to Austin, Texas.
Rebecca is survived by her husband Paul, daughter Jessica and son Travis of Austin, Texas; her mother Eldene McMillan, sister Susan (Doug) Cappo and sister Kathy (Steve) Kieffer of Waukegan; brother-in-law Wally Dick of Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father Garland McMillan.
Funeral services were private.

Carole J. Essenpreis (nee Mathisen)
Carole J. Essenpreis (nee Mathisen), 57, of Murrells Inlet, S.C. passed away Sunday, September 12, 2004 in Murrells Inlet. She was born October 5, 1946 in Oslo, Norway and had been a former resident of Deerfield, IL. Carole was an avid golfer, enjoyed the ocean and boating and was a retired real estate agent in Dublin and Loveland, OH.
Surviving are her husband Robert "Bob" Essempreis; her son Terry (Tina) Essenpreis of Bakersfield, CA and granddaughter Taylor; her father Olav (Anna) Mathisen of Sarasota, FL and brother Edward (Kelly) Mathisen of McHenry, IL.
She was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Mathisen.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 25 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Schulz, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Lake Forest officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
Jerry Wayne Guinn
Jerry Wayne Guinn, 66, of Waukegan, died on Saturday, September 18, 2004, at Victory Memorial Hospital. Jerry was born August 15, 1938 in Tishomingo County, MI. Parents: Mamie and the late William "Hob" Guinn of Marreta, MI.
Jerry is survived by former wife Lyn Guinn and his children Rickie Guinn of Montana, Robbie Harris of Hillsboro, Oregon, and Angelique Guinn of Chicago; 5 grandchildren include Brandon, Megan, Jarrett, Kellan Guinn and Sierra Harris; 2 brothers: Tommy "Barbara" Guinn of Dresden, TN, Kelly Guinn of Marion, Arkansas, 2 nephews: Andrew & Jordan Guinn of Nashville, TN.
For many years Jerry owned and operated Jerry's Gas for Less on Belvidere Road in Waukegan. For years Jerry was a member of Tiny's Social Cub. He will be missed by family and friends.
A remembrance gathering will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2004 from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the Ramada Inn Saddle Ridge Fireside Lounge, 200 N. Green Bay Road, in Waukegan. Friends and family are welcome.
Pamela A. Hall (nee Miller)
Pamela A. Hall, age 61, resident of Fremont, WI, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at the home of her sister in Pleasant Prairie, WI. She was born August 14, 1943 in Waukegan, IL, to Beverly E. Miller and the late Robert G. Miller. With her husband, Joe Hall, she co-owned the Triangle Camp Ground in Fremont, WI.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Joseph J. Hall of Fremont, WI; loving daughter, Tina (Mark) Phillips of Florida; loving sons, Larry (Annette) Powers, Jr. of Waukegan and William Robert Powers of Fremont, WI; and two step-daughters, Josie and Heather Hall; dear grandmother of three; and great-grandmother of three; dear brother, William Miller of Mauston, WI; dear sisters, Randi (Mike) Cenni of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Candy Quist of Fremont, WI; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Also Ex-husband Elmer Hacker.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Larry Powers, Sr.
The funeral service is scheduled for 8:00 PM Friday, September 24, 2004 at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, Richard S. Zaehringer, Director, 1475 N. cemetery, (near the intersection of cemetery Road and Tri-State Parkway). Interment will be private. The friends and family are invited to gather with the family from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, before the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, Chicago, IL, for the wonderful care they gave to Pam's son, William Robert.

Waukegan - Marion V. Heckenkemper, 83 of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away Thursday September 16, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan. She was born October 18, 1921 in Waukegan, IL.
Survived by her son Larry (Ursula) Barnette: granddaughters Michelle & Renee; brothers Tim Christian of Waukegan, IL and David (Wila) Christian of Zion, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Heckenkemper.
Visitation will be at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan, on Friday September 24 at 10-11 AM. The funeral service will be held on September 24, at 11 AM at Marsh Funeral Home. Interment will be at Ft. Sheridan cemetery.
Patricia J. McReynolds
Patricia J. McReynolds, 70, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at her home. She was born October 28, 1933 in Evanston, IL and had been a former resident of Edina, MN, Mequon and Elm Grove, WI and Park Ridge, IL. She was a 1951 graduate of Holy Angels High School in Edina and later Rosary College in Chicago. She was a volunteer for the Jump Start Literacy Program, Lamb's Farm in Libertyville and was a performing arts docent in Milwaukee.
Surviving are seven children, Mary Pat (Tom) Kuchan of Chalfont, PA, John (Mary) McReynolds of Peoria, AZ, Katie (Michael) Kiefer of Glenview, Michael (Paula) McReynolds of Jupiter, FL, Julie McReynolds and Matthew McReynolds, both of Chalfont and Jeanne (Craig) Conte of Libertyville; 10 grandchildren, Meagan, Tim, Molly, Billy, Matthew, Maggie, Kevin, Ryan, David and Kellie; her brother Jack (Margaret) Murray of Eden Prairie, MN and her sister Jayne (Jerry) Carey-Peterson of Edina, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband Horace J. McReynolds in 1984, by her parents, Jay and Patricia Murray and her son Les in 1992.
Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 25 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville and services will continue to St. Joseph Church in Libertyville for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until time of prayers Saturday morning. Memorial contributions can be made to either the Jump Start Literary Program or Northshore Hospice in her memory.
Freddie Shellie
Freddie Shellie, 80, of Waukegan, Illinois, departed this earthly life Sunday, September 19, 2004, at Midwestern Hospital, Zion, Illinois. Freddie was born on April 1, 1924 in Deeson, Mississippi to Ben and Ollie Shelley. Freddie moved to Waukegan at an early age. He was employed by American Motors from which he retired after 32 years of service. Freddie joined Christian Love Missionary Baptist church, Zion, Illinois and remained a faithful member and was actively serving on the Usher Board.
He was married
to Betty Shellie and later united with Christine Shellie. And out of this union were three sons, Fredrick Shellie of Gurnee, IL., Steven (Deborah) Shellie of Matteson, Illinois, Sean (Kimberly) Shellie of Beach Park, IL., and four daughters, Sharon Shellie-Brumsey of North Chicago, IL., Sandra Shellie-Robinson, Robin Shellie and Dana Shellie-Clausell, all of Waukegan, IL. and two other daughters, Lillie Shelley of Beloit, WI and Deborah Everett of Waukegan, IL.
Freddie leaves to cherish his loving memory six sisters, Fannie Slater, Edna Shelley, Cora Lee Slater, Lillie Mae Greer, Massie Davies of Waukegan, IL and Irene (Willie) Lakes of Zion, IL. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. And also special friends Connie Washington, J.D. Slater, Fred Calvert, Willie Lakes and his Christian Love M.B. Church Family.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Ollie Shelley, 2 brothers, Ben Shelley and Willie Shelley and a sister Ollie Engram.

Rev. Lawrence W. Stewart
Rev. Lawrence W. Stewart was born on May 8, 1921 in Louisiana to the union of William and Hortense Stewart. The family later located to Memphis, TN, where he completed his formal education. He retired from North Shore Gas Company (Peoples Energy), after 34 years of service. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
His older brothers, William and St. Clair, preceded him in death.
Rev Stewart was united in Holy Matrimony to Mattie Lou Gayden. They were blessed with two sons who preceded her in death. Later, they were blessed with a third son, Lawerence Harlan.
Rev. Stewart organized the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Elgin, IL, in 1968. He served as the Pastor of this flock for 32 years and retired in 2000. Under his leadership, the church raised funds for a church building, and purchased the property prior to his retirement. He was a member of First Fellowship Baptist Church, Waukegan, IL.
Rev Stewart was very active as a member or the North Shore Ministers Alliance, and at one time, served as its president. He was a member of the National Baptist Convention and worked as a member of the Registration Committee for many years. Rev. Stewart attended the Chicago Baptist Institute and he later earned a Doctorate of Divinity Degree.
Rev. Stewart leaves to cherish his memory his only son, Lawerence Harlan; a granddaughter, Ashley Lynise; Rochelle, who he lovingly maintained as a daughter-in-law; a cousin, Bessie Chatman, Chicago; a special beloved cousin, Ella Louise Stewart Freeman of Baton Rouge, LA; nieces, Gwendolyn Renee Scott, Indianapolis, IN, Mai Hail-Boswell, Memphis, TN; nephew, St. Clair Stewart, Memphis, TN; great-nephew, Rev. Darrell K. Scott (Robin), Terra Haute, IN; a family friend, Mary L. Straughter, Houston, TX; a special daughter, Shellyn Ponder, Indianapolis, IN; and a host of other relatives, church members and friends. No matter how much a man plans his course, it is the Lord who orders his steps (Proverbs 16:9). God has ordered the steps of Rev. Stewart and has called him to rest.

Mary R. Alvarez
Mary R. (nee Romero) Alvarez, 88, of Waukegan, IL., our mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 19, 2003, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 13, 1915 in Trinidad, CO to Pedro and Antonia (Lucero-Gomez) Romero.
Jesus has welcomed her to His arms where she now walks with the angels and is now in complete health. She leaves behind a family that shares many wonderful memories of her life. She was a kind and loving person, giving care to all. Our mom loved to travel with her family. She was always more than ready to go places. She was a faithful member of Queen of Peace Parish in North Chicago, IL. and lived her life in the full sense of Christianity. She will live in our minds and hearts each and every day. Mary worked for the Salvation Army for 10 years until she retired. She then served as a volunteer for Provena St. Therese Medical Center until she became ill. This is the legacy of Mary Alvarez.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Daniel (Rosalind) Alvarez of Mundelein, IL., Richard (Shirlee) Alvarez of Beach Park, IL; one daughter, Helen (Virgil) Renfroe of Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren, Charlotte (Gary) Horsman, Sharon (Neal) Farley, Victor Renfroe, Robert Alvarez, Timothy Alvarez, Todd Alvarez, Tamara (Christopher) Beaty; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Cora (Joseph) Pentavalle of Waukegan, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfanso; one brother and six sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 910 14th Street, North Chicago, IL., with Rev. James E. Merold officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, September 22, 2003 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, 313 10th Street, North Chicago, IL. She will be laid to rest at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, IL.

Dean Richard Bock, Jr.
Dean Richard Bock, Jr., 54, of North Chicago, IL died Thursday September 18, 2003 at the VA Medical Center in North Chicago.
He was born October 9, 1949 to Dean Richard Bock, Sr. and Elaine Marie Pajic in Aurora, IL. Dean retired from the United States Navy after serving his country 21 years, attaining the rank of Yeoman 1st class. Dean, while in the Navy, received The National Defense Service Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, three Good Conduct Medals, two Meritorious Unit Commendations, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon National Defense and attended YN "A" School, Basic Submarine School. Dean was a member of the VFW Post, Amsterdam Missouri, Certificate of Appreciation from Boy Scouts of America. Avid motorcycle fan and avid NASCAR fan.
Survived by his wife, Sharon L.; four children, Winona (James) Lavris, Paul (Dawn) Perini, Michelle Bock-Kukla and Dean R. Bock III; five grandchildren; his mother, Elaine Marie Pajic; step-father, Dr. Ivan Pajic; two sisters, Mia (Al) LaPelusa and Tina (Jim) Ricker; two brothers, Craig (Lori) Bock and Mark Bock; his best friend, John Wilkerson and his faithful four legged friend, Astro; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Richard Bock Sr. and his grandfather, Albert Molinaro.
