Thomas William Roepenack, age 57, of Mt. Pleasant, TN, passed away on Wednesday, September 15th, 2004. He was born July 18th, 1947 in Waukegan, IL, and grew up in Winthrop Harbor, IL.
Survivors include his three children, Tadd Galgan of Wadsworth, IL, Heather Roepenack of Phoenix, AZ, and Tom Roepenack Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; two granddaughters Taylor and Haley of Phoenix AZ; his mother, Jacqueline Roepenack of Beach Park, IL; brothers, Russ (Jill) Roepenack of Pekin, IL, Tim (Kalen) Roepenack of Venice, FL, and Scott Roepenack of Beach Park, IL; and a sister, Jamie Flores of Winthrop Harbor, IL.
A memorial service will be held at the Bohemian National cemetery, 5255 N. Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL on September 24th, 2004 at 10am.
Martha Sinkus
Martha Sinkus, age 81, died on September 16, 2004 in West Allis, WI. She was born on September 12, 1923 in Engadine, MI to Gottlieb and Olga (Friedensdorf) Price. She was baptized on September 23, 1923 and confirmed on May 16, 1937 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Engadine, MI. Martha married
Andrew Sinkus on December 5, 1941 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waukegan, IL. They lived in Waukegan and Zion, Illinois, and then Rhinelander, WI. She had been employed at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, as administrator of food service for Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion, IL, and as administrative baker for Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, IL. She had been a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waukegan, IL, Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Zion, IL, and then the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rhinelander. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, the Altar Guild and was a Sunday School Teacher and volunteer. She was also a member of the Rhinelander Homemaker's and Volunteered for St. Mary's Hospital.
Martha is survived by her husband, Andrew; a daughter, Katherine (Frederick) Horn; her son, James (Nancy) Sinkus; three grandchildren, Paul (Rebecca) Horn, Rochelle (Jared) Justman and Sarah Horn; her great grandchildren, Ethan and Jason Horn; four sisters, Elsie Pershinske, Wanda (John) Powell, Leona (Richard) Somers and Bertha Kramer; her brothers, Walter (Ethel) Price and Osker (Midge) Price; nieces, nephews and other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Erna McNeill; and a brother, Edmund Price.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sinkus will be held on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Reverend David Starnberg officiating. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until just before the services at the church. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Lutheran cemetery in Engadine, MI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the WELS Home Missions. THE CARLSON FUNERAL HOME of Rhinelander (715-369-1414) is handling the arrangements for the Sinkus family.
Myrtle E. Skalla-Becker
Myrtle E. Skalla-Becker (nee Dreyer), 86, of Zion, went home to be with our Lord on September 19, 2004. Myrtle was born August 22, 1918 in Zion to George and Leona Dreyer and was a resident of Zion for many years. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Always practicing her faith in the Lord she put others first. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Dr. Kalom in Zion and Dr. Kurt Brandt and Dr. Anne Jaron Brandt in Waukegan and Upjohn Healthcare. A devoted Catholic, she was one of the funding members of Our Lady of Humility Church.
Survivors include her four daughters, Barbara, (Ronald) Skalla-Baruffi of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Margaret (John) Skalla-Ciancio of Waukegan, Mary Skalla-Howell of Waukegan and Georgine (Ronald) Skalla-Rehor of Mundelein; 18 loving grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; two sisters, Muriel Mill of Zion and Mildred Stried of Zion; a brother, Norman Dreyer of Sturtevant, WI; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Skalla in 1968; her second husband, Alfred Becker in 1971; her parents, George and Leona Dreyer; and brothers, Nathaniel Dreyer, Chester Dreyer and Silas Dreyer.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, contributions to either Seasons Hospice or Our Lady of Humility Church would be greatly appreciated. Kevin L. Thatcher
Kevin L. Thatcher, 31, of Gurnee, a beautiful soul, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2004 at home after a heroic battle with leukemia. He was born January 13, 1973 in Highland Park, IL.
He worked for Campanella & Sons in Wadsworth, IL, as an Operating Engineer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; one daughter, Katelynn; his parents, Kenneth and Barbara Thatcher of Wildwood; one brother, Brian (Sheri) Thatcher of McHenry; one sister, Heather Thatcher of Round Lake Beach; a grandmother, Dorothy Jones of Lincolnshire; his in-laws, Troy and Lois Grossman of Twin Lakes, WI; a brother-in-law, Philip (Karen) Grossman of Kansasville, WI; grandparents-in-law, Edwin and Helen Henningfield of Union Grove, WI; loving uncle of Peyton, Haley, Quinn, and Evan; many aunts, uncles, and friends. Also his loving dogs Roscoe and Daily.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Margaret Thatcher; and Melvin Jones.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 24, 2004 at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Rd, with Reverend Lisle Kauffman, officiating. Burial Highland Memorial Park. Visitations will be held on Thursday from 4-9 PM and on Friday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home.

Lucille C. Trzebny (nee Helbach)
Lucille C. Trzebny, 93, of Gurnee and formerly of North Chicago, died Saturday, September 18, 2004 at St. Joseph Home, Palatine, IL.
Lucille grew up in Stevens Point, WI and had lived in this area for 30 years. She worked in the office at Trzebny Brothers Furniture Refinishing in North Chicago, IL. Lucille was a member of Holy Rosary/Queen of Peace Church in North Chicago, a member of the Lake County Catholic Women's Club, The Blue Army Rosary and Our Lady's Rosary Makers.
She is survived by seven children, Marvin (Gloria) Chebny of Gurnee, Wilmer (Shirley) Trzebny of Omro, WI, Wayne Trzebny of Kenosha, Roman (Theresa) Trzebny of Kenosha, Mary Stanczak of Waukegan and Margie (Robert) Jones of Elk Grove, IL. Also she is survived by 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Roman on May 22, 1959; four sisters, three brothers and a grandchild, Sara Louise Trzebny.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Queen of Peace Church in North Chicago, IL. Interment will be at St. Joseph cemetery in Stevens Point, WI.

Hossein "Charlie" Chaleshgar
Hossein "Charlie" Chaleshgar, 78, of Lake Villa, Illinois passed away on September 17, 2001 at Victory Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 1, 1922 in Tehran, Iran. He was retired from civil service with the U.S. Embassey in Tehran in 1981 after 40 years of service. Up until his last illness, he had been employed as a greeter at Sam's Club in Gurnee.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Khadejeh and was father to Ahmad (Donna) Arzani of Gurnee and 5 children in Iran. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 1 sister and 2 brothers in Iran.
Friends may call from 5-8 Thursday at the MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Road, Gurnee. Interment will be private.
Charlotte L. Kaiser
Funeral service for Charlotte L. Kaiser (nee Drews) 83, of Mundelein is 10:00 A.M. Monday at the KRISTAN FUNERAL HOME, P.C., 219 W. Maple Ave. (Route 176) Mundelein. Interment will follow in Willow Lawn Memorial Park, Mundelein.
She was born April 11, 1918 in Chicago and died Wednesday September 19, 2001 at her sons home in Antioch. Charlotte with her late husband Herbert owned and operated the Diamond Lake Grocery Store in Mundelein for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Elks Club in Waukegan and was an avid golfer, bowler and loved crafting.
She is survived by her 2 children Robert (Ann) Kaiser of Antioch and Gayle (Bud) Wright of Wauconda, 4 grandchildren: Troy (Roberta) Wright of Ingleside, Hope (Frank) McDonough of Belvidere, Lelley (Dan) Berwick of Lake Villa and Bob Kaiser of Antioch, 6 great grandchildren: Kayleen, Morgan, Bobby, Connor, T.J. and Branden, 2 step-grandchildren Misty and Jay and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Charlotte Drews, her husband Herbert and her sister Mildred Boyle.

Caleb Everett Congdon
Caleb Everett Congdon, 22, of Winthrop Harbor died on Sunday, September 16, 2001, in Vilas County, Wisconsin, the result of an auto accident.
Caleb was born July 24, 1979, the son of Loren and Margaret (nee Jacobsen) Congdon. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion where he was involved in the youth group and served as a counselor at Camp Zion. Caleb loved the outdoors, especially rock climbing, water skiing and snow boarding. He had been attending college and was working part time at Congdon Funeral Home.
Caleb is survived by his father and mother; three sisters: Maleana (fiance Mark Kruckeberg) Congdon of Portland, Oregon, and Dinora and Katie Congdon, both at home; a maternal grandmother, Shirley Jacobsen of Middleton, Wisconsin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Rev. George Jacobsen and Everett and Evangeline Congdon.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2001 at 12:00 o'clock Noon at Christ Community Church, Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. A visitation for friends and relatives will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.

Mildred R. Corris
Mildred R. Corris, 95, of Russell, Illinois passed away on September 17, 2001 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan.
Mildred was born in Sharon, Wisconsin on June 5, 1906, the daughter of the late Louis and Clara Radke. She lived in Lake County, Illinois most of her life, where she taught school for 44 years, beginning in 1924. Mildred taught for 28 years in one-room schools. She received her Bachelor's Degree at the age of 56.
She was a member of the Russell Evangelical Free Church, Ladies Aid Society, and where she also served as Sunday School superintendent for many years. Mildred also belonged to the Winthrop Harbor A.A.R.P. and was a lifetime member of the Lake County Retired Teacher's Association and National Retired Teachers' Association. On June 5, 1937, Mildred Radke married
William Corris who preceded her in death on December 8, 1985.
Mildred is survived by a brother, Ervin Radke of San Antonio, Texas; her nieces: Laura (Robert) Horton of Antioch, Illinois and Janice (Molee) Sarkor of Chicago, Illinois; her nephews: Jon (Nancy) Pedley of Ingleside, Illinois, and Robert and Thomas Radke of Dubuque, Iowa; and a dear friend, Sandra Siedschlag. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Marion Radke of Dubuque, Iowa.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Radke.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 21, 2001, at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, Illinois at 11 AM with Pastor Daniel Nowotarski of The Russell Evangelical Free Church officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9 AM to the time of service. Interment will follow in Oakdale cemetery, Newport Township.
Memorials to the Russell Evangelical Free Church, the Newport Rescue Squad, or the American Heart Association have been suggested.
William Robert "Bill" Cossman, Jr.
William Robert "Bill" Cossman, Jr., 35, of Oxford, WI died Friday, September 14, 2001 in Portage, WI as the result of an accident. He was born June 8, 1966 in Waukegan, IL, the son of William and Mary Ann (Dubs) Cossman, Sr. He graduated from Waukegan High School in 1984 and attended MATC, Madison. He worked at several jobs including Oscar Mayer in Madison, WI and Neenah Springs of Oxford. Most recently he worked at AMPI and also Tamarack Pizza both in Portage. While in Waukegan he was a member of St. Dismas Catholic Church and also attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Westfield, WI.
He is survived by his parents, William and Mary Ann Cossman, Sr. of Beach Park, IL; two brothers, Dennis Cossman of Westfield and Donald (Patty) Cossman of Wadsworth, IL; two sisters, Debra (Brian) Mellinger of Waukegan, IL and Kathleen (Robert Fuesting of Zion, IL; two nieces, Amber and Ariel Fuesting; and four nephews, Jeff and Kelly Cossman and Brian and Christopher Mellinger; three uncles, Jack (Joan) Dubs of Beach Park, IL, Ronald (Judiann) Dubs of Waukegan, IL and Jim (Maude) Cossman of Montello, WI; three aunts, Caroline Schuler and Evelyn (Jack) Marcelain, both of Westfield and Rosemary (Robert) Moody of Canoga Park, CA. He is further survived by numerous cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; uncles and cousins.
Funeral Services were held at the STEINHAUS FUNERAL HOME in Westfield, WI, on Monday, September 17, 2001 with Father Rick Heilman officiating. Friends called from 5 PM until time of Services on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Steinhaus Funeral Home, Westfield served the family.
Oscar Roy Daniels
Oscar Roy Daniels was born on February 4, 1925 to the late Brooks and Mamie (Latimore) Daniels in Noxapater,MS. He departed this life at home on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at 11:35 P.M.
He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Pearl Valley Baptist Church in Philadephia, MS. and New Salem Baptist Church in Merigold, MS.
He moved to St. Louis, MO. where he lived for many years. He later moved to the State of Illinois. He served in the Navy in 1944 and he was employed at Goodyear in North Chicago, IL. until it closed.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Elizabeth (Liz) Carr of Staunton, VA. on October 20, 1967.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories his devoted wife Elizabeth (Liz) Daniels; one daughter Ruthie Jean Woodhouse of East St. Louis, Vivian McKnight (who he helped to raise and thought of as his daughter) of Turtle Creek, PA., 5 sisters: Mrs. Effie R. Loper, Mrs. Waundean Norwood, both of Toledo, OH.; Mrs. Brookie Randolph of Chicago, IL., Ms. Walter Lee Daniels and Mrs. Odessa (Z.P.) Wallace, both of Waukegan, IL.; 1 brother Willie J. Daniels of Niland, CA., 7 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Otha and Redmond Daniels and 1 sister Lodean Shinauld.
