Gary Andrew Epps
Gary Andrew Epps was born June 19, 1962 in Zion, Illinois. He was a life long resident of North Chicago. Gary attended high school in Edwards, MI. and also served in the military. Gary went home after a sudden illness Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001.
Gary leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother and father, Rose and Arthur Epps, Sr., of North Chicago, IL., 2 daughters: LaShay and Sherrie Epps of Detroit, MI., grandmother Emma Wright of North Chicago, IL., sisters Sharon and Rosie Epps of Waukegan, IL., Dorothy (Samuel) Aketch and Lessie Epps of North Chicago, 6 brothers: Lucien, Arthur Jr., LeRoy Sr., Lynn, John and David Sr., all of North Chicago and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
And a special friend, she knows who she is.
Gary was preceded in going home by his paternal grandparents Otto and Sidney Epps, 2 brothers, Chester Epps and Eddie Walker, his nephew LeRoy Epps, Jr., his maternal grandfather John Gilbert and his niece Precious Epps.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 20, 2001 from 5:00 until 6:30 at: BRADSHAW AND RANGE FUNERAL HONE, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL. 60085.
Lillian Franson
Lillian Franson, 49, of Beach Park, Illinois died September 19, 2001 in Waukegan.
Lillian was born February 16, 1952 in Milwaukee to the late George and Elizabeth Hugle, and moved to this area 30 years ago from California.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Ralph; 3 children: Barbara (Duane) Cartwright of Mundelein, Ralph (Jennifer) Franson, Jr., of Decatur, Alabama and Julie (Andy) Bowers of Zion; 6 grandchildren: Samantha, Anthony, Cassandra, Rebecca, Joshua and Alexander; and brothers and sisters Nannette (Craig) Presser of Lindenhurst, Jacqueline (Chris) Ohm and Mary (Wally) Plock, both of Franklin Park, Illinois and Guenther (Cynthia) Galle and Melody Galle, both of Lancaster, California.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Cremation will be private.
Esther Kaub
Esther Kaub, 89, of Judsonia, Arkansas, formerly of Lindenhurst, IL., passed away on September 13, 2001 at the White County Medical Center in Searcy, AR.
She was born in Chicago, IL. on September 4, 1912, the daughter of the late Owen and Esther Thomas. She was retired after thirty years of service from Lake Villa School District #41, where she was a second grade teacher. She was a former member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst.
She is survived by her son, William (Irene) Kaub of Judsonia, AR., her grandchildren Mark Evert, Paul Evert, Christopher Kaub and Karla D'Ane Rice, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, daughter Geraldine, sweet granddaughter Karen Evert and brother Owen Thomas.
Graveside services were held privately on Wednesday, September 19, 2001. Interment at Highland Memorial Park cemetery, Libertyville, IL.

Ida I.H. Meyer
Ia I.H. Meyer, age 89, of Moline, IL., until moving to Zion in 1995 passed away September 18, 2001 at Victory Lakes. She was born March 20, 1912 in Cambridge, IL.
Ida retired from Holiday Inn in Moline, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, her 2 children Donna Ross and Robert Meyer, and her sister Frieda Schnowske. Survivors include her grandchildren: Kathy (Ed) Bartnicki; Dan (Mary) Ross, Robert (Jane) Meyer, Melody Meyer, Heidi (Bill) Meyer and Shannon Meyer and great grandchildren Eddie and Philip Bartnicki and Matthew Meyer.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on September 21, 2001 at Northside cemetery in Genesco, IL. There will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to MARSH FUNERAL HOME.
Doris Petersen
Doris Petersen, age 54, of Zion, Illinois passed away September 18, 2001 in Zion. She was born February 27, 1947 in Greenwood Springs, MS.
Survivors include her 2 children: Michelle (Bernie) Loonsfoot and Tim (Janelle) Petersen, 3 grandchildren: Danielle, Courtney, and Andrew, 2 brothers: Douglas (Sharon) Murphy and Danny (Nancy) Murphy, and her mother Eunice Murphy. She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1984 and her father.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on September 22, 2001 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN. Burial will follow at Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday, September 21, 2001 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Fireman's Fund for New York City.
Rance "Jake" Jacobsen
Rance "Jake" Jacobsen, 75, of Libertyville, Illinois died Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at Lake Forest Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 2, 1926 in Half Day and was a lifelong Lake County resident. Jake retired from Frank G. Hough Co./International Harvester of Libertyville after more than 30 years of service. He had served in Germany with the U.S. Army during WW II. He was an avid gardener and a member of Libertyville American Legion Post 329.
He is survived by his wife Arlene (nee Kurowski), his sons: Gregory (Jeannine) Jacobsen of Grayslake and Christopher Jacobsen of Libertyville, his grandchildren: Jessica, Joshua, Jacqueline, and Jason, his brother Ernie (Marcy) Jacobsen of Colorado and his sister Evelyn Rohdenburg of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffery John Jacobsen, his parents Joseph and Alma Jacobsen and his sisters Dale Goodin, Gladys Lewerenz and Alice Eckstein.
Funeral Service will be at 8:00 P.M. Friday, Sept. 21, at MCMURROUGH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. Visitation Friday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Evelyn I. Warmcastle, 91, of Libertyville, Illinois died Friday, September 14, 2001 in Winchester House in Libertyville.
She was born January 18, 1910 in Buffalo, NY.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Rod of Libertyville, IL; seven grandchildren, Margot Gibson, Ray Rodwell, Darlene Kyllonen, Tony Rod, Judy McKinney, Jackie Harrington and John Warmcastle; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Amy Nizen of Jefferson, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2001 in the MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE.
Services and interment will be in Sylvan Abbey, Clearwater, Florida.

Theodore O. "Ted" Abraham
Theodore O. "Ted" Abraham, 68, of Vernon Hills, IL, passed away suddenly Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born December 28, 1933 in Chicago, where he remained a resident for most of his life. He was a former 17 year resident of Memphis, TN and has lived in Vernon Hills for the past three years. Ted was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Libertyville and the Loyal Order of Moose in Chicago. He was a retired metalurgist and a former 50 year employee of the Taylor Forge-Gulf Western Corp. in Chicago and Memphis.
Surviving are his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Abraham of Vernon Hills; 4 children, Ted (Bridget) Abraham of Libertyville, Linda (Joseph) Greco of Buffalo Grove, Richard (Terri) Abraham of Chicago and Charles (Andree) Abraham of Memphis; 6 grandchildren, T.J., Patrick, Michael, Chris, Jeff and Chris; his sister Ruth (Wilbur) Von Fange of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Jonathan and Maggie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 20 at the Grace Lutheran Church, 501 Valley Park Drive, Libertyville, with Pastor Gordon Cavers, officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Christopher William Bilharz, 34, of Lake Bluff, IL, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2002 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born April 26, 1968 in Evanston, IL, was raised in Lake Forest and was a former resident of Monument, CO. Chris had lived in Lake Bluff for the past 6 years, was a Senior Researcher for the Construction Market Data Company in Oak Brook, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Surviving are his Fiancee Patsy Drell of Libertyville; his mother Ann Bilharz of Lake Bluff; his brother Ted (Stacy) Bilharz of Green Oaks and sister Alexandra (fiance Kyle Kitchens) Wells of Fort Myers, FL; a nephew Nicholas and nieces Megan and Samantha. He was preceded in death by his father Theodor F. Bilharz, Sr. in 1992.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice in his memory.
Robert F. Gleaner
Robert F. Gleaner, 68, of Round Lake Beach, died Saturday, September 14, 2002 at his home. He was born January 11, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of William and Leona (nee Marsh) Gleaner.
Survivors include three children from his first marriage to Doris Joan Soots, Dorothea Gleaner-Thomas, Jack Levi Robert Gleaner, Norman Duane Reese Gleaner, and four grandchildren, Jason Gleaner, Jennifer Thomas, Melissa Thomas, and Christina Thomas of Huntsville, Alabama.
Mrs. Louise D. Hasty
Mrs. Louise D. Hasty, departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2002. She was born in Marion, Alabama on January 18, 1930 to the union of Clayton Sanders and Princess Sanders.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Samuel C. Hasty, Sr. on December 31, 1948. To this union seven children were born, one daughter and six sons. She moved to Waukegan, IL., where she worked many years at the VA Hospital before going into early retirement. She was a devoted mother and wife, who loved to cook for her family, especially on holidays. She enjoyed seeing others around her happy.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Samuel C. Hasty, Sr. of Waukegan, IL.; two sisters, Peggy Fowler (John) of Waukegan, IL. and Ruby Sanders of Waukegan, IL.; six sons, Samuel C. Hasty, Jr. (Arlene) of Lake Forest, IL., Robert Hasty (Arnita) of Maplewood, New Jersey, Larry Hasty of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Michael Hasty (Benita) of Waukegan, IL., Gregory Hasty (Karla) of Gurnee, IL. and Kenneth Hasty of Waukegan, IL.; and one daughter, Samala Kenney (Mark) of Park City, IL. She also leaves to cherish her memory, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1st Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, 1529 Elizabeth, North Chicago, IL. on Monday, September 23, 2002. Visitation will be at 10:30 AM followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Eugene Robertson will be officiating.
Burial follows at North Shore Garden of Memories cemetery, North Chicago, IL.

Dennis E. Katzel
Dennis E. Katzel, 63, of Round Lake, passed away at his home on September 18, 2002.
Born September 15, 1939 in Chicago to Lorraine (nee Weyforth) and Earl Katzel. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He worked for Western Electric for 29 years retiring in 1997. He also worked for AT&T; for 13 years.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Sandra Kay (nee Newvine) Katzel, and his children Mark Katzel of Round Lake Beach; Renee' (Juan) Diaz of Round Lake; and Dennis E. Katzel II of Ingleside; grandchildren Ruth Ann Diaz, David (Christine) Diaz, and Robert Diaz all of Round Lake; and great-grandson David Dennis Diaz. Also survived by his brothers James (Barbara) Katzel of Round Lake; Earl (Grace) Katzel of Elgin; Robert Katzel of Chicago; and Norman Katzel of Plainfield; his sisters Janice Mancill of Round Lake, and Nancy Bobulski of Franklin Park; and his sister-in-law Georgia (Bill) Katzel of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother Bill Katzel.
